201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gonna sell my stock assets and invest in these top currencies. Suggestions? on: January 23, 2020, 01:50:17 PM
Hello all,

I am new to crypto currency market as I was before in shares and stock market. I have basic knowledge of cryptocurrencies like how supply, demand and history of famous coins. I am looking to invest in 2-3 cryptocurrencies. My investment: $200-$500. I would like to invest little amount in starting, afterwards I will increase my investments.

Well, I select the following coins:

Bitcoin : because it is no.1
Ethereum: this crypto is down these days, but I have got a news that ethereum 2.0 will roll out this year. So, I hope that this crypto currency price will go up.
Binance: because of stability

And eos if possible

I would like to know your suggestions before taking the steps.

Thanks

I think your choice of cryptocurrencies to invest are good choices. Three of them are in the top 10 of coinmarketcap and are stable cryptos. I would also include chainlink in your choices. Since its release, I have seen LINK always included in the top coin to invest by most enthusiasts. It has a useful platform and is supported by many influential crypto entities. I'm pretty sure it would grow more this year.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if Ethereum replaces Bitcoin someday? on: January 19, 2020, 03:16:00 PM
Ethereum has the potential to rise above bitcoin someday as it is now being adopted by many projects and companies in creating smart contracts. The ethereum platform also rapidly is being developed and upgraded. But with the dominance of bitcoin in the market right now, I don't see ethereum outpacing bitcoin anytime soon.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your preparation for 2020? on: January 19, 2020, 09:07:21 AM
summer will pass and 2020 will come soon.
while the market is still below and cryptoqurrency prices are cheap, then how do you prepare for the coming year?

I personally have added some bitcoin and altcoin.
I believe if half of the bitcoin is reduced, there is still hope for the crypto market, especially for the price of altcoin.
How about you?

I am excited about crypto in 2020. I am hoping that this would be the year that my assets would pump and be rewarded for hodling them for a long time. With the upcoming bitcoin halving and the upgrade of the ethereum platform, I am expecting good things coming to the crypto market. Hope my wait would be fruitful this time.

205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Crime is getting Worse, what do we do? on: January 18, 2020, 02:44:39 PM
https://news.yahoo.com/cryptocurrency-thefts-fraud-hit-1-211446327.html

In Q1 alone of 2019 there was $356m in theft of digital currencies from exchanges and scams while losses from fraud hit 851m. This number includes the QuadrigaX scam which accounts to about $134m in total losses.

What can we do to help stop these from happening and getting worse?

I think people can help minimize if not eliminate, scam projects by not supporting them. One way to do this is but properly researching the projects we will invest in. I observe some investors just invest based on hype in that market. So they fall victim to promises of great returns by scammers. Scammers are getting wiser in tricking people but I think, with proper research, they can tell a legit project from a fake one.
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you prefer to hold for more than a year? on: January 18, 2020, 02:25:56 PM
I personally prefer to hold bitcoin and ethereum. They are good coin and more potential to hold for long term.

I think any coin in the top 10 of marketcap has potential for long-term rewards. I am also holding BTC and ethereum and both of which are my majority holdings. Aside from them, I have a substantial amount of BCH and XRP. again, both of which are in the top 10. If I have to add, I would include Link. Many are projecting that Link would make it to the top 10 cryptos this year.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why will you invest in something you know nothing about? on: January 17, 2020, 03:50:17 PM
Please stop your whining here if your friend dont know nothing about blockchain and crypto then teach him so he can be independent

Don't let them invest in what they don't know about

how can you invest into somthing if you have no clue about what are you investing in at first place or is just about 21st century beg??

The thoughts of easy money make people invest in cryptos they know little about. The hype surrounding a coin often makes people jumped into the project even without deep knowledge about the project. But with the current market situation where scammers are everywhere, research about the project is a must to every investor.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: investing does not have to wait long on: January 17, 2020, 03:30:12 PM
what are your goals by investing? yes I think everyone wants to benefit from investment and trade. given the market situation is not yet fully stable, I'm sure you can still benefit from them.
I mean investing does not have to wait long, you can sell it at any time, when you see your coins above the initial capital price.

if you don't do that, you will starve!

There are short and long-term investors. It depends on what suits you and if you have the finances to wait for long-trade. Long-term investment has a long possibility of great reward as long as the project or crypto you have invested is a legit one or has long term potential. So research about the project is really important.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I feared new altcoins might be left out on: January 17, 2020, 03:22:20 PM
I feared new altcoins will be left out so i start selling some coins for bitcoin because it can be a big blow if altcoin fails to surge like in 2017 after bitcoin reach a new ATH, what do you think? And what would you have done in my position

Indeed altcoins in the market are getting overcrowded. There so many altcoins to invest right now that it becomes confusing to choose a really good one. I think altcoins would have great potential this year with the development in the blockchain technology. Some will fair well and some projects may perish. So if you have invested in a really good coin, I think this year would be good for you.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people easily get scammed on the internet? on: January 16, 2020, 03:00:39 PM
What is Scam?
Scam is a dishonest scheme that is carried out by an individual or groups of persons in mode of taking away something that is valuable to others. Those who perform these acts are reffered to as scamers.

How do people get involved, how easily are people scammed and reasons?

Many individuals think of the internet as a get rich quick scheme and once they are exposed to any form of investment promising high ROI, witjout a second taught they jump onto it, you and I as well know how this will end? In a nutshell, GREED is a factor

Secondly the inability to conduct research and make real findings on our own. All this as a result of laziness.

Add yours!!

I entreat all of us to be on the look out for scan projects, make our findings and proof beyound doubts their scam intentions and also avoid been greedy when making an inveatment

The desire to get rich quickly even without researching very well about the project they are investing in often causes people to get scammed. Some out of them even invest without even knowing what they are investing in. Hard facts but it is true. And with the help of the internet, the activity reaches victims easier and wider than ever before.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why We Need Bitcoin, If Altcoins Transfers Are Faster And Cheaper on: January 15, 2020, 03:32:27 PM
Really Bitcoin transfers are expensive and lower speed, therefore altcoins are much easy to transfer. For small transfer amounts Bitcoin is not usable.

It may be more expensive transferring Bitcoin than other altcoins but BTC offers more flexibility in transacting with fiat and other cryptos. Most crypto trades are pair with bitcoin because it is the most widely supported crypto. The dominant market cap shows that. No other cryptos or altcoins are as tradeable in the marketplace and exchanges than bitcoin.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Other than bitcoin is it worth to invest in Ripple? on: January 15, 2020, 12:29:36 PM
FXStreet & Express.co.uk Ripple Price Prediction These websites give a moderate prediction saying that XRP has potential and may reach $3-$5 by the end of 2020. This is an assumption based on the fact that Ripple is best Investment opportunity of 2020.

https://coinpedia.org/information/xrp-ripple-price-prediction-2019/

Let me know your point of view on this?

I see many crypto price review sites that point to XRP as one of the best cryptos to invest right now. They are saying that the adoption of XRP from many financial institutions is getting bigger and wider. But honestly, the way market behaves, it is hard to predict crypto prices because of its volatile nature. Price could go high or low abruptly.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: if anyone hacked your account then who is responsible??? on: January 11, 2020, 02:17:39 PM
if the exchange you stored your crypto was hacked, then definitely it is not your fault but the security of the exchange. But if it from your wallet, then it might be that you have given your account information accidentally to hacked or to phishing sites that copy and monitors your activities. If this is the case, immediately change your security settings and information to avoid further damage.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Day Trading or Long-term Hodl? on: January 11, 2020, 12:02:26 AM
Before now, I have always been getting it wrong about cryptocurrency. A friend recently opened my eyes to see how I could have increase little coins I have to fortune overtime by day-trading. But I am no that type. I had always thought I could only make fortune in crypto by hodling a certain coin for long.

13 months ago, I bought SNTR worth about $100 hoping that in few months I'll wallow in milliions of dollars like Ian Balina , but the reverse is often the case in the subsequent ones I bought. Sad fact, $100 worth of SNTR 13 months ago now less than $2.

Recently, I watched several videos of how to analyse a coin or token to invest in, gained some good knowledge of the basics. I discovered day-trading tokens like DX token and AWC could have actually make me what I hope to be If i had the right information. But its never too late. Yet, I am drowned in mentality that hodling for long can only be the fortune I hope for. Reason I need help.

I have a similar experience with my investment. Several of my cryptos are way below its value when I bought them years ago thinking that long-term hodling would be an option. That's why I'm into day trading right now. With the erratic and speculative nature of the crypto market and good sense of projecting prices in the market, day trading has been a good investment for me.

https://coinpedia.org/information/xrp-ripple-price-prediction-2019/

Let me know your point of view on this?

Despite the centralized nature of Ripple which works against the essence of cryptocurrency, ripple is still one of the recommended coins to hold by many crypto enthusiasts. In terms of technology, XRP has really fast transaction times. Currently xrp transaction takes about 4 seconds to be processed. In addition, XRP has really cheap transaction fees and Ripple is also partnered with over 100 banks.

That is why it is supported by many and I think it is one of the cryptos that will have good potential this 2020.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much should i trust crypto Youtuber? on: January 10, 2020, 01:31:07 PM
I sometimes listen to famous crypto youtubers.

But for the most of time, they were not accurate.

Really... How much should i trust them? If there is a good one, please recommend one.

Btw, how many of you guys participating in airdrop event?

Most of airdrop cryptos that i earned kinda become worthless.

I am trying to earn BPX token at Digifinex.  I heard that BPX token is issued by an exchange

Then, I guess it is better to earn exchange token, which at least can be used. Right?

I also follow a few youtube crypto channels and check their reviews and analysis of some of the new and old crypto projects in the market. Some give opinions that are really spot on in terms of the trend of price in the market. But their influence in my investment is only up to their reviews. No matter how bullish they review some projects, I still do research and my an analysis on my own.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How i presently feel about bounties on: January 09, 2020, 02:30:41 PM
I'm starting to think its better to promote bounty projects with low allocation like 30k to 50k because they never failed to pay hunters, even if these projects find it hard to met softcap it will be easy to pay bounty rewards, this might be because of bear market but gone are those day of thousands dollar worth bounty rewards unless new wave of market movement takes place

You have a point. Reading your post made me realized that lately, the bounties that I am also joining are low budgeted ones. But what great about it that they do actually distribute rewards. Though not that much but at least you get the rewards right away. I hope the large budgeted bounties would follow also in really keeping up with their promise to give hunters their rightful rewards.
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of Altcoins have a future? on: January 08, 2020, 01:52:31 PM
The market for Altcoins has been bad recently, and many Altcoins have died and lost a lot of money. What kind of Altcoins do you think will die?thanks for sharing

The market is not very supportive of most altcoins right now. I think you won't get wrong investing altcoins in the top 20 ranked in coinmarketcap. Maybe even as much as the top 50. I mean these are coins that have already proven market presence and community that will carry the coin in the ups and downs of the crypto market.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in multiple altcoins on: January 08, 2020, 12:30:38 PM
Ok guys so I have 500 CAD left to invest in altcoins, I decided to invest 3000 CAD in bitcoin and leave it like that. So for that 500 CAD (377 USD), please tell me if this makes sense. (I want to own a broad portfolio of multiple coins that have good odds for the future). All amounts are in USD for a total of $370. I'm open to suggestions.

50    Ethereum
50   Ripple
50   Binance Coin
30   Litecoin
20   Enjin
10   Iota
30   Cardano
20   Stellar Lumens
10   VeChain Thor
10   Pundi X
10   Basic Attention Token
10   Ontology
10   Zilliqua
30   Monero
?   Eos
10   Tron
?   Zcash
10   Icon
?   Chainlink
any other ?
10   Dash

You have quite a good variety of investments in your assets. I am also investing in multiple crypto but not as varied as yours. I only keep my to a few that I can monitor as having too many would be hard for me to check from time to time. Good decision also to invest majority of your asset in BTC as this will be a good coin for long term investment and knowing especially that its halving is coming in May.
