202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0 confirm instant transactions on: December 16, 2013, 09:12:57 AM
And even then paperwork does not take a few hours lmao.

A few hours? Are you suggesting the merchant will need 18 confirmations? Indeed, LMAO!

no 6 confirmations takes about 2-4 hours. LMAAOOOOO LEL

The only concept behind the 6 confirmations is that the transaction is less likely to be undone that 5 confirmations. Nothing more.
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas M. Antonopoulos[video interview] on: December 16, 2013, 09:05:22 AM
Andreas M. Antonopoulosis
I think it's Antonopoulos not Antonopoulosis  Tongue
Embarrassed Thanks for the correction. Title's edited.

antonopoulosis sounds more like a disease than a person's name  Cheesy
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If confirmation takes 10 minutes, how will I buy coffee at Starbucks? on: December 16, 2013, 09:01:30 AM
Don't use Starbucks; find a independent coffeeshop that takes bitcoin and support them instead!

If starbucks start accepting bitcoins the price will double in a day.

/bad for identification documents/

My friend had problems when they requested his identity card scans. As allowed in their ToS/conditions, we'd put a gradient watermark on them in the areas with no information.
This was in case of a major leak/hack, to avoid the misuse of the documents.

They refused them systematically, even with transparent watermarks, citing their own ToS !!!

So we went elsewhere.

What's the point of putting watermarks in areas without informations anyway   Huh
206  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is ultimately doomed to fail (not today or tomorrow) on: December 16, 2013, 08:53:52 AM
And still Bitcoin is never legal tender any where, so never a currency any where (unless possibly we have anonymity and don't pay the taxes).

If we repeat it 16 more times, you will still continue your nonsense posts.  Cry

If people keep using it as a currency then it will become a legal tender everywhere. If noone uses bitcoins to buy staff then no authority will declare bitcoins as real money...
207  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: December 16, 2013, 08:50:59 AM
oh my good, cant believe people still use gox.
On youtube there is a song about it of April 2013 , this thread has 133 Pages!!!

So why? just stop using shit until they learn from it. Users have the money=power, but .....no brain?  Shocked

I don't use mt.gox but i can say that i kind of respect how this site is still alive after all those technical and legal hits...
208  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current price ~$850... any reason for it to be going down? on: December 16, 2013, 08:48:48 AM
monday here so price will go up after the weekend dip

There is no weekend dip or beginning of each month dip... Price is on a downfall for more than 2 weaks already...
209  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Will India Explode? on: December 16, 2013, 08:46:42 AM
Have some friends in india and they say its already relatively popular and growing faster and faster.

What do you mean relatively popular? Like occasionally tv and web coverage or that some people might of heard about bitcoins already.

3.) Sollar Bonds would allow individuals to bet against the American Dollar collapsing and being replaced by something else. This event will happen and something will replace it. Some think that's BitCoin. We know its Sollars and Sense. (#Makes$ense right?)

Just focus on creating your coin and leave dollar as it is. It's not going to collapse any time soon anyway.
211  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin won't take over the world. on: December 15, 2013, 11:23:13 AM
I think Kain35m sure has a point. 'We' as a community might not be doing that, at least not intentionally. But the concensus still pretty much seems to be that we're a bunch of anarchists and conspiracy theorists.

I 've read countless articles from mainstream media about bitcoin being a bubble but not a single one that relates it with conspiracies or anarchy. Care to show me some?
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas M. Antonopoulosis [video interview] on: December 15, 2013, 10:41:05 AM
Andreas M. Antonopoulosis
I think it's Antonopoulos not Antonopoulosis  Tongue
213  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Help deciding on a miner BFL OR Friedcat on: December 15, 2013, 10:38:44 AM
I thought this was a thread from months ago. Really surprised that it's from 3 days ago...  Tongue
214  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin won't take over the world. on: December 15, 2013, 10:35:57 AM
And we shouldn't try.

Don't threaten the establishment. Stop making claims of "taking down the dollar" or "uprooting the entire centralized banking structure"

We are not trying to do that.
We don't threaten the establishment.
We don't make claims to take down the dollar or anything else whatsoever.

Obviously you are talking for some other community and not the bitcoin one...
215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current price ~$850... any reason for it to be going down? on: December 15, 2013, 10:32:44 AM
I think this entire week was full of good news, the 5 main ones that come to mind in no particular order:
1. Switzerland voting to make BTC a foreign currency
2. Baidu (china's yahoo) adding a section for bitcoin in their main page
3. http://www.usatoday.com/ adding a bitcoin logo on their main page (their high traffic, along with baidu's will definitely help increase awareness)
4. News about WallStreet and hedge funds getting into bitcoins in 2014
5. Fidelity allowing customers put bitcoins in IRAs

You may want to add to those very real reasons that

6. USA officially declared bitcoin as a currency
7. EU already replacing euros with bitcoins

217  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: Highly ignored uses should have their posts less visible, with opacity on: December 15, 2013, 10:23:06 AM
I don't understand why the fact that you ignore someone should affect the way i see him.
218  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Mining Rig on: December 15, 2013, 10:06:49 AM
Their pre ordered machine is plugged in right now mining for the guys who built them......pre order= you paid for the design and manufacture. once its built of course were going to have to test it till we reap 20x its worth then we will ship it.

Maybe when bitcoin becomes more mainstream all those organizations that protect the rights of consumers will look in depth at the practices of asic companies. So far preorders are a bet that buyers constantly lose...
219  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-12-10 Cyprus Central Bank warns about risks in use of Bitcoin on: December 15, 2013, 10:03:57 AM
I suppose when you are waking up alongside severed horse head presents from the Russian mob then bitcoin 'pronouncements' can seem like a pleasant distraction ...

I think the horse head is an italian mafia trademark  Tongue
