201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Bitcoin killer argument on: April 20, 2012, 01:29:04 PM
Its a super strong marketing, because its an eye opener that sticks.

Ask someone if they want to know how to pay 100.000% lower fee per transaction and there is not a single person who will say no.

As opposed to "bitcoin is a decentralized..." which will turn most people of.
Maybe interests the geeks.

Another killer line was the one that Bitcoin is like a free Swiss bank account.

Lines like those can be used to create a video with a message that explains why.
Not what.

Here is a reply for those who says its for drugs:

Bitcoin is used by charities like these:

http://bitcoin100.org/group-b-strep-international/
http://spices.org.my/

Its not Bitcoin, its the internet and Tor that allows this.

Should we stop the internet? Because it can be used to buy drugs and get porn?

Do you accept Paypal or do you use cash?
Customers paid for their drugs via Western Union, PayPal, iGolder, Pecunix and cash.

http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2012/04/online-drug-market-takedown

And Paypal got money from Banks and VISA and Mastercard...

204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Smartphones & Bitcoin on: April 19, 2012, 03:16:45 PM
I second that.

Get the Samsung Galaxy S2.

Yesterday a friend got the Sony Xperia so I compared the phones for quite some time.
The Sony have a higher screen resolution, a little faster processor etc.
(But you wont notice the difference.)

The Sony Xperia screen lacks the oumph in colors. They look bland.
When surfing the higher screen resolution did not make it easier to read text, maybe even harder.

It got less battery time and the interface although good, is not as good.
Though its still a topnotch phone.

It has slightly better camera that can be accessed with a button, without having to unlock the phone and it can be connected with Hdmi straight to a TV, thats nice.

Go with any of those.

Do not get Iphone. They are made of glass.

But if you got big pockets, and I donīt mean deep, I mean big as in really big.
Get the Samsung Note. Its quite big which makes it great for surfing, really good batterytime etc.

As soon as Armory support comps with less than 4 gig ram. I will start using it.

206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bypass the exchanges w/ BitInstant Pay-to-Email feature on: April 17, 2012, 04:45:12 PM
Thats fantastic.

I informed my collegues about it. This is the tagline I used.

Checked your email? You might have or get an email worth a million dollar!

Now you can get Bitcoins in your email or send them to someone by emailing them.
You just have to hope that someone sent an email full of Bitcoins to the wrong adress...

Ofcourse you have allways been able to email Bitcoins...But now even your aunt can do so.

Have you got a script or Storyboard?
208  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Announce] Coindl.com - a new digital downloads marketplace powered by Bitcoin on: April 11, 2012, 10:11:25 AM
Go to music program forums and tell their users they can earn bitcoins by selling their music.

You will reach lots of musicians some of those are kickass.

Programs such as:

FLStudio
Renoise
Energy XT
Reason
Logic
Qbase

etc

209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Announcement] Potential Games - Bitcoin Initiative! on: April 11, 2012, 07:03:21 AM
Iīm a fan of some independet games and have done some work for big gaming companies.

Some clarifications.

If you get coins by betting, its gambling.
If you get coins by winning because of skill, its skill.
If you get coins for free, its donations.
If you give interest and loans as a business you are a bank.

If you let people buy things, thats ok but if its expensive things they can buy and sell or huge sums you have to
make sure those players cant money laundry.
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is Bitcoin valuable for YOU? on: March 30, 2012, 09:18:36 PM
Consider this.

Bitcoin is the only way to use electronic money without it being owned by a private company.

All other ways of using electronic money is by having it stored in Private bank and private payment solutions.
We give away the power to controll our money "cash" to private companies who charge everyone on earth every time we spend or use our money
and keep track of what almost every single person do, shop and think and can freeze out the money of any person they dont like.

Thats why Bitcoin or a cryptocurrency is valuable to everyone.
Its a key to keep the little democracy we can have as we get dependent of the internet.

Did he mention the year?

212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Version 0.6.0 released on: March 30, 2012, 08:13:02 PM
Could not install on a Nordic windows7 32bit when logged in as a non admin, tried twice.
The third time I changed the installer directory to "program" instead of "program files" and it worked.

However a casual computer user will having problem will not figure that out.
If its possible to fix it would probably be good.

Really great work guys!

213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about bitcoin containers? on: March 30, 2012, 09:26:56 AM
As Death and Taxes says.

Great point, it would be similar to real cash if the value could be checked and if you can pass it along knowing that
noone else who had it before could take away the value from it.

I also like "cointainer".

214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proposal: friendly addresses with enhanced privacy on: March 29, 2012, 10:54:06 PM
Or they could just send the keys to her email adress. She sweeps these keys with the client as in the bitcoin "cointainer" discussion.
Now it will be much harder to know how much she has collected.
215  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Girls of Reddit's r/GoneWild on: March 29, 2012, 08:48:14 PM
Sorry but there is a huge problem with this. Its so easy to copy their photos and photoshop in another adress which will happen.

I dont know how they will be able to prove that they are the owner of the adresses.
216  Economy / Economics / Re: Do something! on: March 28, 2012, 10:23:09 PM
I've tried to get the ball rolling about bitcoin participation on a music forum. F*ing CLASSIC response, ahem:

Quote
criminals use bit coins

Clearly, there's work to be do
ne. Grin

Edit: I'm actually pleased because at least people have heard of it. Halfway there. Now to just undo the media brainwashing...

Just post the bitcoin conference video with rick falkwinge talking, or link to charitys that take bitcoin donations.

217  Economy / Economics / Re: Do something! on: March 28, 2012, 01:38:52 PM
Just send simple emails to webshops/sites and ask if/when they can take Bitcoin as a payment.

Even ask when you are out, shopping something.
The more people have heard about it, the more they will know its a good thing.

Its that simple.

For every email they get, the will think about it that much more.

After a while a few shops will accept Bitcoins, once they do.
Others will see this and start to think its legit.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there an iTunes-style store that accepts Bitcoin? on: March 28, 2012, 09:38:30 AM
This would be a perfect match.

The song available in bad quality or only half the song.
Next to it a qrcode and bitcoin adress, send to it and you get to download it.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Flash swarming websites, requesting they accept donations in bitcoin on: March 28, 2012, 09:34:43 AM
Sounds like you risc spamming websites.

One letter every week should probably be enough for most small business to make them consider Bitcoin as payment.

220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's add up the KNOWN lost bitcoins on: March 27, 2012, 04:29:41 PM
