wow, you guys really are crazy... you actually believe we'll see 600% increase in price year after year? Won't be happy unless I see 1000% increase every month. Only $300,000,000,000 bitcoin at the end of the year will make me happy. Get with the program Adam geez

I'm sure the dubious website is not the website of the Bitcoin ATM at the liberty forum. The bitcoin ATM at the liberty forum was a prototype. So if someone tries to sell you an ATM it might be a scam. The prototype was made by Zach Harvey, as the other articles state. Josh and Matt were very important for technical support and it couldn't have been done with out Matt's programing, and Josh's work with the hardware.

Couple of players are trying hard at suppressing the rally I think. Media will cry bubble if we climb from $13 to over the high in a couple weeks... so take a pause @ 29-30ish for a bit before breaking it, show some "stability"
this! The recent price increase definitely helped getting Bitcoin on the radar of many new people and businesses but 20% gain per week is not sustainable for very long and some stability now would no doubt be good for Bitcoin. … but with 20% per week, i almost could retire If I can remember march 2012, price oscilatedaround $5 ... now looks like it will oscilate around $30 ... am I right 30/5 = 6 ? 30/5=6, yes. 1.2^50=9100 not 6. How can I accept this poor performance of 6!!1!!??? But it was only 11 months. 1.2^11 = 7.43008370688 Still 6 is horrible.

Pretty awesome Perhaps Piuk of Blockchain.info would build his android app with a special branded skin/UI for that company... I also think it's a given in this discussion that the app would not be a full blockchain downloading app, but rather a thin client. Also - perhaps each tablet should come with maybe 1btc or .1btc loaded in its balance already. The company would need to hedge prices by buying the bitcoins upfront. This is a great idea. Blockchain.info already has Chinese as a language option.

Re-indexing is normal. There was an upgrade of the database used to store the blockchain. I'm sure your node will be more helpful when the scan is complete. I don't know about during the scan.

I bought a little bitcoin way back. I think there are all these cool ways to spend the bitcoin but I never want to for want of the price going up. So I'm changing my protocol. I'm going to buy a certain fiat amount every other week. Then if something comes up that I want to spend them on, I'll spend them. I'll still keep my bitcoin as savings, but I'll support the adopters as well. I think this will be a great of mode of operating. I'm going to buy and spend for fun . However, I'll still hold for profit .

13.5 + 52 = 65.5 by year end I wouldn't be surpriced.
Bitcoin was up 288% in 2012 which means a target price of $50 in 2013 is achievable. Repeat after me: Past performance does not guarantee future results. Repeat after me: The block reward is half of what it was last year. Repeat after me: I took this quote out of context. Repeat after me: I can double my bitcoin by playing S.DICE Repeat after me: I can lose all my bitcoin by playing S.DICE Repeat after me: Repeat after me Repeat after me: I need to quote this for no reason Repeat after me: have to stop to smoke ganja Repeat after me: I'm wasting my precious time in pointless stuff. Repeat after me: PROOF OF LURK Do as I say: send all your bitcoins to 185NbTnZhJ3RWBG9mmCTFZrHJ5vV4rqnJq Repeat after me: The block reward is half of what it was last year.

While we're at it. Can someone explain to me how hedging works in general? If you hedge against a bad outcome of a bet/gamble, doesn't that hedge also anihilate the good outcome?
Lets say a stock is bought at $30 with the expectation of the price going up. To hedge against the price going down the investor may buy puts (at $2/share) guaranteeing the investor the right to sell the stock at $25 within a given time frame. If the stock goes up to $60 then the investor would be up $30/share -$2/share = $28/share. If the stock goes down to $2. Then the investor is only out $7/share instead of the $28/share if the put was not bought as a hedge. I believe this is more traditionally how one would hedge against a risk.

The video description discusses 6% of world exports. I always wondered where the world exports to.

Yes, there is USD inflation, but it is still lower than the BTC inflation (I speak of inflation of the monetary base).
Not true. USD inflation is $85B or 3% per month. The future is determined by the. FOMC. While BTC inflation is 1% per month and dropping. Yes, this is monetary inflation. Look up QE4.

That's great news Carlos. I'm fairly certain that your market would prefer fewer larger payments instead of several smaller payments. I like the solution of the website I cited. A customer can have a balance build up and then request it to be sent at anytime. After a request, payout is usually within 24 hours. All the best Carlos.

Whew, glad coinbase is making good, and improving their service. I should like Carlos L. to reconsider his business model and research suggested fees for the large(in bytes) transactions he does. I would suggest that people use http://bitcoiner.net, there you can go back multiple days and not take a payout until it is larger. This makes the fees on both sides more manageable.
