I think today's issue approved that we're able to fix problems when it is really necessary. That's definitely a good sign for Bitcoin project.

208  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: @40TH now what % gpu, fpga, asic are we at? on: March 10, 2013, 02:24:10 PM
I can help a little bit. On the following pie chart, "Unknown" are small pools, dark pools, solominers and bot-nets. They've dropped from around 20% of the network hashrate a few weeks ago to about 10% now. So, assuming there are no botnets mining at pools, they are currently less than 10% of the network. As Difficulty increases, this percentage will decrease further.

I'd also assume that the only CPU mining on the network would be due to botnets, but I don't know how large a proportion of botnets would be CPU and how much GPU.

The first ASICs were added at the start of february. The Hashrate has increased by ~ 10 or maybe even 12 Thps since then. Some of those will be GPU miners that found they could still profitably mine after the constant increase in the exchange rate, but lets say 10Thps are ASIC. So I'd estimate ~ 28% of the network hashes are contributed by ASICs.

I'd guess GPU and FPGAs are probably about even, but I could be wrong.

It's an interesting question - maybe you could start a poll?

Thanks for your time and info it sounds fair to me..i will look in to create a poll about the mininggear use...
Maybe that will give some insight in %

So we are at 40TH at the moment .....

Where do you get this figure from? I estimate we're at about 35Thps, maybe 37Thps at a strectch. But not even close to 40Thps.

I just looked at

http://bitcoincharts.com/

And

http://blockchain.info/nl/charts/hash-rate

I am aware of the variance but its at all time high,!! Right?

210  Bitcoin / Mining / @40TH now what % gpu, fpga, asic are we at? on: March 10, 2013, 01:06:17 PM
So we are at 40TH at the moment i wonder what U think the % of mininggear we have  mining right now is;

Something like this;

(CPU)      1%
GPU.      54%
FPGA.    20%
ASIC.     25%
(Botnet) ?

Anyone?

212  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people think one Bitcoin will be worth $1000 (or more) on: March 07, 2013, 09:26:02 AM
I think many people (newbies) think the value of Bitcoins can only go up is because they know there will never be more than 21 Millions Bitcoins on this planet.

You r right. But 95% users of this forum own bitcoins and hope to make a fortune spreading this delusion. They don't have strong arguments to support the delusion so they just troll people like u, giving useless advice to use search button or think outside the box. If u really want to discuss the value of Bitcoin u should find some other forum. Here u'll be just trolled to death.

Yeah also explain to me why someone pays 30 million dollar on an Rembrandt painting.. There is no  value to it..to me it is just paper and paint isn't it... Btc has value becourse it fulfills needs ...like transfer big amounts off money across the world almost instantly in a private way...the getting rich argument is there only when you first invested willing to take risk of losing your money..
213  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bubble! I've just sold!! on: March 06, 2013, 06:14:04 PM
Why call it "cash out" when you get back to fiat ...doesn't make sense to me .. But he who am I..!!

The BTC is brandnew technology nothing in the past to compare not even to last years..
.all the good " mainstream" things only happend since the rise started ... before it was mostly scams and sh!t ...

We are only starting to get momentum..!!! Hold on and enjoy the ride..!!!   Wink

EU Stratum server seems to be down.  Nothing currently points to an attack, just a datacenter issue.  Will update once its resolved.

EDIT: Server is back up and running.  Sorry for the downtime.  Still looking for a better host in the EU that will accept orders from overseas.  Hetzner does, but they're cheap, and there's always a price to pay with a cheap provider.

Thanks for the quick response ...!!! Everything back mining in less then 30 min great job...!!!   Wink

219  Local / Mining (Nederlands) / Team Holland @ BTCGuild miners on: March 04, 2013, 07:42:54 PM

EDIT: 25/9/13 nu 61 team members totaal nu 2290gh hash power
Meer team members maar minder hashpower deze maand  Wink

EDIT: 22/8/13 nu 43 team members totaal nu 2450gh hashpower
