202  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Antminer S1 solo mining, how? on: April 03, 2014, 11:28:52 PM
In my experience, while my miners report mining at their usual 180 ghs, there is something not connecting even with ports opened and valves on full steam, my butterflies actually solo mine quite well, and a usb cube would be similar, but I don't think for the antminers my computer is capable of providing the getwork info it needs in a timely fashion, which is I believe why they added stratum with mining pools.

So in short, if you want to solo mine, you'll need to setup a pool with stratum with your computer or on a cloud (don't ask me how to do either, as I've succumb to just paying the damned 2%).
203  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 17, 2014, 12:14:36 AM
ok i figured it out and Im now hashing on my pool:) but say I want to solo mine a different coin on my wallet qt. how could I do this? i tried pointing it at 127.0.0.1:and the coins rpcport from the .conf file, i tried pointing it at my computer's ip itself with the coins port : 192.168.0.4:port. Ive got the wallet in server mode and im solo mining it on a usb miner but I cant seem to get my ant to connect to it

I've been having the exact same issue, but have mostly resigned to the notion that the server mode wallet is not capable of producing getwork fast enough for my antminers to solo mine.  I don't know that I'm right in that assessment, but in the research I've done, it's the best I've come up with so far.  I think also stratum might be useful for just such occasions, which can only be setup as a pool server, so far as I know.

Also, does anyone know of a way to swap out the pool details for multiple units in one go?  It's a pain in the ass logging into a series of units and repeating the same commands over and over, just curious if there was a multi-ant controller of some sort I should be aware of.

Looking forward to the resurrection, I started on day one with this, and have high hopes...not just because of my name.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Masterchest Wallet Alpha Testing Thread on: March 09, 2014, 05:21:01 PM
So I have some difficulty running this simply because running the Bitcoin client is not very friendly with my computer, will it ever work from a light weight wallet like Multibit?
206  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Tigerdirect is now accepting bitcoin!!! on: February 27, 2014, 04:27:42 PM
I also learned that despite it being the same company (TigerDirect.com), the retail location near me would not accept my Online Gift Card, which makes me furious.  I am relegated to dealing with their Florida office who seem totally incompetent.

Don't bother with Online support chat associates, you will have to call and get someone during the day Mon-Friday before 4:30pm Eastern or you're SOL in terms of getting things done.

Soon enough, New Egg, Fry's, and CDW will accept btc and I won't have to manually release my orders.
207  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Tigerdirect is now accepting bitcoin!!! on: February 26, 2014, 04:56:51 PM
So...because the first order was royally botched...I got lots of gift certificates because that is the only way you will get anything back after sending your
bitcoin to them if they don't send you products.

Second verse, same as the first.  Used my certs to buy another order, used bitcoin to pay the balance and get the 20.00 discount for paying with bitcoin.

Waited three days, and finally decided to contact support again after noticing "Not Shipped" was yet again the default for bitcoin purchases.

Had to contact support, reminded them they could look up transactions themselves on Blockchain.info and that they were quite incompetent to be accepting
a currency they cannot seem to process despite it being already in their bank as US Dollars.  Had to give them the transaction ID to the transaction they
requested I complete last saturday.

Noticed they overcharged me again in taxes (something you may want to check with every order, as it is getting me close to free shipping every time now, in the form of yet another gift certificate).

So, hopefully later today a manager will declare I have in fact paid and release my order...5 days after ordering.  I am unimpressed Tiger.

 Roll Eyes

Seriously?  Still no payouts, I'd probably have been way more pissed if my name were on the winners list, so glad I don't really need to worry about it.

So the Minebig pool auto-payments that are supposed to have already been sent are not showing up in my wallet.

Seems like they may be stuck.  The ability to copy and paste the transaction number seems impeded, making it especially
annoying to try to track this down.

I used a block explorer site and it seemed like it was showing, is there something wrong with my wallet?  It worked a week ago.

I've sent a couple messages to support but no response yet.

Hey, my wallet seems stuck, I've restarted to no avail; seems stuck at block 29773.

It's been running smooth ever since I started using it, this is the first hiccup I've encountered.

If it helps I'm running:
v0.2.1.1-g99999-boc

Can't wait till the "Arena"!  Still not totally sure I understand how you aim to accomplish it, but
I look forward to the future for BCX.

UPDATE:

So I've deleted everything and downloaded the blockchain again, but still stuck, this time at 29778.

Any thoughts?

Yet Another UPDATE: Hmm...now it appears fine...looks like we're back online and ticking.
Loving the coin... keep up the good work!

Hope this gets resolved, also does anyone know how to direct the mining power via payment etc?  The basis of this coin is pretty interesting, but I'm still not sure I understand how the network hashrate of this coin is used for mining other coins, nor how to point that power at a particular coin, interested in trying it though.

You know something is wrong when the pool the developer is mining on goes down.

I have 13 Blocks found (1 coin each) - so 13 coins, but all Immature, I just have to leave this to keep maturing right?
120 blocks for found block to reach maturity and actually confirm?

Click Transactions, hover over the little icon next to the mined block, this is also how you can tell when a transaction is fully confirmed with any coin.

So, does anyone know how to mine with both on one computer, or do you have to pick scrypt or 256, I've got some jalapeno's and gpus I was hoping to use at the same time.

yeah, can I put both algorithm notes in one conf, or do I have to use two separate computers?

Trying to play the game but I haven't been able to sync yet.

I hope you like it... Smiley

Awesome!

Also, anyone know if our hashrate went up a bunch today or something?  I solved three blocks yesterday, and nothing today yet.
220  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Tigerdirect is now accepting bitcoin!!! on: January 30, 2014, 11:28:53 PM
What's worse, I knew Tiger might not be all that fantastic at handling Bitcoin orders so I specifically contacted a support rep yesterday who assured me it would be here today as promised.  Today I learned that was BS and it still has not been processed, claiming they are still waiting on my payment.  I ordered Next Day shipping hoping these would be here now.

I'm rather pissed, and it's after hours already so I'll have to contact support tomorrow again to make sure they pull their head out of their ass and ship the damned cards I ordered.

They also appear to have overcharged me on the taxes according to the confirmation email I received.

So now I'm out almost 5 days of mining minimum because they don't know how to look up an invoice.

 Angry

*Supposedly a manager is scheduled to call me within 24-48 hours and I was supposed to get a notice from another rep regarding the overcharge.  Neither has occurred yet.
