Hello Guys. Today i downloaded wallet from offical site. I am on 729118 block and have sync status 99,94 % but its not grow up, can u tell my why ? Please help me, i am new in ESP  You are on the wrong fork, like many of us. Official chain is at 729195 https://stats.espers.io/, and going up. Delete all your files inside ESP folder in /roaming except for wallet.dat and reload blockchain bootstrap. I suggest we all wait for a new, more stable, version. |

Even the block explorer, which has only recently started to show recent blocks, is on the wrong chain http://esp.miningalts.com/Block explorer is showing 728260 while my wallet (and espers stats https://stats.espers.io/) is at 729189. I would bet the block explorer IP is in the node list, thus sending a bunch of people on the wrong chain. |

It's very strange. Yesterday, i downloaded latest client + latest snapshot from official site and now i'm on wrong chain with latest block 728+  Me too. I was at block 72900 yesterday with 4 connections, so I started staking mode. Today I wake up with 10 000 new orphans and back to block 72837 and 4 connections on this wrong fork. Now obviously I have to reload the bootstrap again. What I don't get is there are many PoS/PoW coins out there, why did we have to reinvent the wheel with ESP, and recode something that works well elsewhere in other coins? |

Why do you need the snapshot?
Could you simply open the wallet and wait for it to sync, if you never used it before?

If more people would try syncing from scratch and report about their success or failure (e.g. with debug.log output), this will help debugging a problem (...) Allow me to differ on that one. While it is absolutely true that blockchain should be pure, and load organically on all machines, blockchains get corrupt and this requires a bit of hardcoded fixes. We can't seem to be able to sync organically, so while the devs fix this problem the show must go on. This is where bootstraps are needed. |

The last time i checked you said you will open an office in Manila on November 2017 and now it will be on mid of this year. Did i miss something? The issue last year brings down the price of TOA, my question is how will you bring back trust of the investors. We appreciate your work and eagerness but as i recall when we invest in PSB it is the same eagerness, effort and passion that we saw until one day the developer gives up and accidentally that developer is in your team.
I agree. I hope that I won't be tagged as someone spamming this thread. I was an investor of PSB too and I invested big. It wasn't just money that I invested. My word was in there too and tagged a lot of friends who invested huge amounts as well. When there were questions about the dips, I defended PSB so when the sudden news to a coin swap slapped me in the face, everything just crumbled for me and I suppose others have had a similar experience. So the core dev of TOA, I suppose is Richard Park? What assurance can he give that TOA won't end up like PSB? because from the looks of the charts, TOA is taking the same trajectory as PSB.... PSB investors like me can't help but notice the trend. It's all too similar -- the promises, the excuses like price is taking a beating because of bitcoin growth. It's the same. Other alts have held their ground and even broke past their previous highs and even when bitcoin price was moving forward. What's holding back toa from doing the same? Setting up business agreements and building an ecosystem takes time, I understand that. What I would like better though, is more frequent dev team updates. |

Yeah I have syncing problems, too. I'm sure it will all be solved at one point, these are only temporary problems. When investing I make long-term decisions that are not influenced by temporary problems (or rather to the positive side - temporary problems usually means a good price to get in).

With ESP price dive since last summer, yeah ESP has become a long term investment. I mean, with all the money ESP has made you guys last summer, a market value of 24 million $, I think ESP deserves a more mature and serious approach, compared to what I am seeing now. Sell the Lambo, hire a team. The last wallet is very disappointing (did you guys test it at all?), pretty basic stuff: 1) if staking will not work properly until block x - why does the wallet accept or not warn people when attempting to stake before block x?2) you guys should seriously setup some permanent nodes, and hard code them in the wallet. 3) wallet goes on forks frequently, probably because it's so hard to find nodes. Orphans are a real pest. Addnodes don't seem to help. 4) Chain info tab - Block Explorer section does not work. Generate ESP tab does not work. Messaging is "Coming soon". 5) When staking, the rewards are shown with a minus sign, then they become orphans. 6) We need a working and detailed ESP web official block explorer, yesterday (what I mean by no seriousness) 7) Development transparency is totally lacking. Kids, this is not a game anymore; last summer at 30 satoshi, some people made real and expensive commitments to ESP - ESP has just become an adult business; it's time you start treating ESP that way, or pass the stick to another team. |

So I downloaded and installed the version 0.8.72, reloaded the bootstrap 3 times, loaded the addnodes in the conf file. Wallet seems to constantly go on bad forks.
Pretty discouraged. I like staking, that is what I do, and this is the reason I keep some staking coins, including ESP. Seriously considering to dump ESP now.
All my stakes from 2 days ago were canceled, my ESP wallet STILL can't find any solid network (just 1 connection). My wallet is filled with orphan blocks.
We have no block explorer to make sure we are on the right fork. I know some of you ESP devs became millionaires last summer; don't tell me you can't afford any help.
Is that the best you can do?

I really appreciate reading intelligent criticism and good direct questions aimed at the TOA team; and accordingly I will let them answer your questions. I am not a TOA dev, but I do talk to them, so just allow me to share what I know: TOA's Block explorer was moved to CryptoID ( https://chainz.cryptoid.info/toa/), they should remove the link from the website soon. TOA's code does include POW, but it is disabled now and TOA is definitely not mineable other than staking. As we know, TOA is a risky investment, and this is reflected in current market price; we invest in risky investments to achieve higher returns on our money, this is obvious. TOA's unique approach is to first build some real value, infrastructure, business partnerships and real places to use it before starting to publicise it in a big way. Most coins go the other way: they claim, they are great, why? Crickets. Most coins and many tokens are merely speculative empty shells. It will be real market demand and economic pressure that will soon move TOA'S value, before speculation. Speculation and even higher prices will trigger as investors/speculators realise that TOA delivers their promises. |

You should really keep an eye on one of this team. He is the dev of dead shitcoin named PSB am i right? Everything he touches became shit. You may take a look at TOA price right now as a proof of his existence. There is only one kind of person who never makes mistakes, it is the one who never tries anything new. After trying and failing a bunch of times, every successful man will find his success and achievement eventually; I am staying with this dev, because I know that one day success will find him. Price of TOA is influenced by the market, he does not control the market. Bitcoin too, was very low for a very long time before it was able to climb. |

You're absolutely right, Noojna! That's my point! How can toa win investors when all they see is a crashing price? What's happening to toa right now after that expo in the US? Is there anyone in charge of trading and promotions? I assume they have someone handling those two areas? And, I'd also assume that the person/s handling trading understand the dynamics of trading toa against btc and/or other toa trading pairs.... like I said a few posts back,
just because btc is pumping, doesn't mean that toa's bitcoin price should go down to the equivalent of fiat currency - 0.50 centavos, right ? what are the devs thinking?
A lot of coins are getting a good BTC beating these days, so it's not too surprising to see TOA getting slammed too. Historically, when BTC comes back and corrects itself, many coins go up, because of all new wealth traders are enjoying and all the new money coming into crypto markets. Let's hope this drop in BTC price for TOA is seen as a buying opportunity and doesn't last too long. TOA team is opening real offices in Manila and Kuala Lumpur, hiring fulltime employees; there are real investors supporting TOA with big plans. I am just surprised they don't post here the exciting development news here more often, because there really is something going on. |

Crashing? What are you talking about? The FIAT price is still same for toa and hasnt changed. Only the ratio between btc/toa has changed because of btc rise....
as long as toa is keeping its fiat price at the same level, there is nothing to worry about
then you certainly don't understand trading cryptocurrency. price is pegged against bitcoin NOT fiat. how did you get hold of your toa? through ICO or through swapping pesobit to toa? either way, just to inform/educate you, the dev team collected amounts in terms of bitcoin and accordingly issued the number of tokens due to investors. what was the price when you initially received your coins if you were an ICO participant? now, at what price did you buy your PSB - if you swapped to TOA? if you weren't an ICO participant, at what price did you buy TOA in the exchanges that offer toa? if you're happy with toa just keeping the fiat price fixed at what - less than 0.01 usd? then that means there will be no profit to be gained from buying or selling toa since it will always have the same fiat currency value! you're losing in terms of bitcoin. you bought toa in terms of bitcoin and don't realize that you're losing?! if you're fine with that, well that's you. don't give others the illusion that they're gaining when in fact, they're losing a lot! I calculate with fiat because i trade on exchanges and it resembles better what the asset is worth to people. If i compare to what could have been if i kept btc then its speculation and not investing. If you make a bad decision on speculation then its not job of the toa foundation to match your expectation in my personal opinion. If btc falls and toa rises in btc value to keep fiat price would you say the toa foundation did exceptional work? In the end people value assets still to fiat. Might be other case in ico or swaps of course. Then your view might match better but since i bought them on exchange... awesome  at what price did you get them? congratulations, you're doing great  same fiat price as it is now. keeping for longterm and maybe use it for the service toa offers. if toa builds their service in coffeeshop like apple shop, i.e. with branding feeling, it could trend. there arent many capsule hotels yet so who knows. for speculations and making money, there are far better coins than toa. toa is more like a hobby hehe Yes, TOA's price staying the same in Fiat but going down in BTC makes potential investors think they should better stay with BTC. It would be better if satoshi value of TOA remained the same or went up, so investors feel an appetite for TOA, otherwise they will feel safer with BTC. |

Just one note, the last update of Windows 10 Defender on my PC has quarantined my TOA wallet application and refused to download a new one. I had to find it in the "malicious items" of Defender and restore it.
So be careful if you see your TOA wallet application file quit and disappear, it's probably Windows defender being over-zealous.

I don't think CC is working on too many other projects besides Espers right now, but of course we don't know... I think he has been offered money for hiring additional devs several times in the past, but iirc he said that finding suitable devs is not so easy. Unlike other projects which are only about improving the wallet interface, Espers is very low-level and often the development work directly deals with changes to the protocol. Most other devs who would be knowledgeable enough to do this kind of work, already have their own project, just like CryptoCoderz himself. The trailing "Z" was definitely meant to cover multiple blockchain experts to work together, as I am interpreting it.  But right now it's only one of them (yet), plus all the people in the team doing supplemental work like infrastructure, website etc. Well, ESP has a pretty ambitious Roadmap posted on the OP (which is great); and money can buy talent, anytime. You can train talented programmers to become crypto programmers. If you guys think CC is able to do it all alone, along with all his other projects, then OK but in this case I think perhaps some help would add a level of seriousness to this project. |

Agree 100%. PoS needs to be fixed, and it is what CC is working on right now! Regarding "plenty of time", he had personal problems for many months and just recently he was able to continue working on it again. As far as I can see, there has been constant development since then, and he's also showing up on Discord periodically. Discord is similar to Slack, except that it is made for open communities instead of business teams. It's a chat system that has different channels for general discussion, dev discussion, wallet support etc.. It is linked in the ANN post. It's just strange when these questions get asked over and over again, and very often I'm the one who is answering it... It makes me wonder why people expect to be kept up to date, but don't do anything to stay up to date themselves... I've created an FAQ some months ago when we faced similar problems, maybe I should revive it again! Then we are in agreement, thanks for your honest answer - I promise i'll try to read a few pages back before I post a question! CC seems to be a lone ranger here on the coding front (he also has other distracting projects, I read) - I suspect ESP has made a few millionaires on last summer's run, so perhaps a little re-investment of those profits for some extra manpower help with coding would better protect ESP's value; if I may. |
