Hey guys,

I had the same problem and the manual didnt help me. I noticed, that there is an old wallet version (8.7.0) on the first page of this ANN....and on their website it is 8.7.2....
When i used the wallet from their website instead, it worked and i was on the right chain again.

So my advice is to take the wallet from their website and do the bootstrap thingy to solve this issue

This worked for me as well. Upgraded from 8.7.0. to 8.7.2 on Mac from website wallet page https://espers.io/#download

Then downloaded latest snapshot https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=12Gq9BcC1B-60V0VUOP6O_CqMhZuoyvJh

And followed instructions here https://blog.espers.io/using-the-snapshot-d8eb6d1cb3f6

Added nodes from here https://espers.io/download/nodes/node-list.txt

Launched updated wallet and it synced almost immediately and am now on block 729147 with 9 connections.

It's very strange. Yesterday, i downloaded latest client + latest snapshot from official site and now i'm on wrong chain with latest block 728+

Me too. I was at block 72900 yesterday with 4 connections, so I started staking mode.

Today I wake up with 10 000 new orphans and back to block 72837 and 4 connections on this wrong fork. Now obviously I have to reload the bootstrap again.

What I don't get is there are many PoS/PoW coins out there, why did we have to reinvent the wheel with ESP, and recode something that works well elsewhere in other coins?

So ill post a quick summary of ESP2 at this moment:

-All of the exchanges are on different chains. Everyone else is also.
-The richlist shows that the top 25 have 122% of the coin supply.
-None of the ''fixes'' work. NONE.

Block explorer is showing 728260 while my wallet (and espers stats https://stats.espers.io/) is at 729189.

I would bet the block explorer IP is in the node list, thus sending a bunch of people on the wrong chain.

You are just upset you didn't get in when the price was 1 satoshi - you could have made a fortune.

Now you just want to FUD to drop the price down so you can get in on it. Otherwise you would not be caring about a coin ranked 280 on CMC! No one ever does. Why don't you go complain about the 1k garbage coins on CMC? It's because you care about this one lol.

Too bad the Espers rocket ship is taking off to 50 sats, and it's not stopping back anytime soon!

Now I realized why I can not locate my transaction in http://esp.miningalts.com/ .. already has 9 confirmations and has not yet arrived at the destination. I am using the wallet 0.8.7.2 available on the website

I am having a lot of problems with my wallet and no solution seems to work. If anyone can help me out it'd appreciate it. My wallet is showing the incorrect # of espers I own.


I'll post a timeline of my issues:


1. Opened my wallet for the first time in 6 weeks in mid december. Before this it had been working fine and I made my original Espers purchase on Novaexchange this June so it was ESP2.

2. Sent my last remaining coins from novaexchange to my wallet. Transaction appeared on http://espv2.miningalts.com and my wallet address showed the correct amount but my pc wallet did not show the last transaction.

3. Tried fixing the problem with this guide: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/Espers/wiki/Solving-wallet-issues I did rescan and snapshot fix but that didn't solve my issues.

4. Once again tried snapshot and rescan today but now my wallet was showing non of the funds I previously had only 55k that had been staked.

5. Downloaded the new wallet (0.8.7) and now the last novaexchange transaction I did appeared as transaction made today but all of my prevoius Espers don't show up in my wallet, I can see the transaction dates but no funds. My wallet address on espv2.miningalts.com still shows the correct amount.

Does anyone have any idea what this problem might be?

You have previous copy from wallet.dat?
If so, before trying, just to be safe copy the actual one to other location and give it a try

Not sure if this wallet accept rescan=1 in conf file? On other wallets it solved several times my issues wit wrong balance...

I tried my backup dat file and that shows a different amount from my current wallet file even though it's the same address.

My address espv2.miningalts.com still shows the correct amount.

What should I do at this point?

Thanks I looked at this again after trying it a few times but had never tried rescan Method #2.

IF ANYONE IS HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS, rescan method 2 worked for me, method 1 didn't work for me. My wallet shows the correct amount now .

You are on the wrong fork, like many of us. Official chain is at 729195 https://stats.espers.io/, and going up.

Delete all your files inside ESP folder in /roaming except for wallet.dat and reload blockchain bootstrap.

I suggest we all wait for a new, more stable, version.
