There's something odd with your manner of speech, Satoshi. Why are you so rude and sarcastic all of a sudden?
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Satanic Temple of Detroit now accepts BTC Donations on: May 02, 2015, 06:00:58 PM
I'm not sure what to think about this. If this becomes very popular we could find ourselves having many people speculating that bitcoin is supported by "the devil" and is used by satanists. It's great that another business/organization is accepting bitcoin, but is this something you'd want to put on your list to show people which organizations are excepting bitcoin?

If you think being supported by “the devil” is a bad thing, then you don't understand what Satanism is about.

I'm not talking about myself, I'm talking about those people who are over religious and stick with their current laws. Like the type of people who are quick to judge before they actually indulge themselves into bitcoin.

The kind of people that also think homosexuality and a different skin color are things to be frowned upon. Clearly the problem is with them, not with us.

I give you permission to attack my account. It's not like Google servers will die anytime soon.

I did not know that an "official" Satanic Temple existed....

I am quite surprised actually.

Just a bunch of athiests trolling the world sooo super hard.

Yeah, and they seem to have a thing with gay people.
Is it coz they really care about them or are they trying to take advantage of them to turn them to followers?

I am afraid some of them get taken to a remote cave for a special ceremony
Ever wonder what happens to many of the world's missing children?  Shocked

I thought the missing children were the Pied Piper of Hamelin's fault.

Sure.  But it is in my belief that one cannot live without the other.  If the good wants everything good to rule and succeeds, then it can be evil.  And if evil wants everything evil to rule and succeeds, then we're fucked.  Unless BTC = $1,000,000.

I don't think Satanism says that evil doesn't exist, but rather, offers a different perspective on the Christian religion.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Satanic Temple of Detroit now accepts BTC Donations on: May 01, 2015, 03:26:00 AM
I always thought that Satanism stated that the biblical Satan is actually a good guy. Something along these lines:

208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrap It Up, bitcoin Is Done on: May 01, 2015, 02:46:41 AM
Is bitcoin dead again?

Yes, but a new one was created exactly at the same moment, so no one really noticed.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Satanic Temple of Detroit now accepts BTC Donations on: May 01, 2015, 02:22:26 AM
You can read the tenets of The Satanic Temple here.

Satanism is a really loaded topic, similar to anarchy. It evokes images in our heads due to the stigmas and social conditioning that don't necessarily correspond to the actuality of the idea. Supernaturalism, devil-worship, sacrificing animals, etc. aren't what Satanism is about. That's just what propagandists would have you believe.

"We understand the Satanic figure as a symbol of man’s inherent nature, representative of the eternal rebel, enlightened inquiry and personal freedom rather than a supernatural deity or being."

Satanism is a challenge to dogma. A challenge to the guilt we burden ourselves with for simply being human. A challenge to rise to your fullest potential from within.

Then I think choosing a better name would be a good idea.  Something cool, not something...  medieval.

Because “Christianism” isn't medieval at all.
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you were to recreate Bitcoin to be better and more secure. How would you? on: May 01, 2015, 01:24:48 AM
So far the only implimentation of asic proof I have seen is with CureCoin using protein folding as mining. Do you have any other ideas on how to do this?

Why is protein folding ASIC-resistant?

Protein folding require heavy rendering from cpu and gpu's. So some really big super computer's atm are the closest thing to an asic for it.

That doesn't seem to answer my question. Anything a CPU or GPU does, an ASIC can do it better (provided the correct algorithm for the task, of course).
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: denationalisation of money on: May 01, 2015, 12:38:12 AM
Bitcoin is brilliant invention yet people from our own community are trolling us with: "Bitcoin is Dead" posts everyday. It is hard to believe that bitcoin will succeed when even the core supporters are being pessimistic.

Newbies are not core supporters.
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today, I paid in BTC with my Apple Watch on: May 01, 2015, 12:34:18 AM
Why would I pay with an iwatch, if I have my phone in my hand?
Seriously, how many people do not have a phone in their hands these days? Look around you! The iwatch is useless.

People don't understand the purpose of smartwatches. They are NOT a replacement for phones. They are an enhancement. The smartwatch needs to be linked to the phone via Bluetooth. That means the smartwatch is useless without a phone (unless all you want is know the time).
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today, I paid in BTC with my Apple Watch on: April 30, 2015, 10:03:57 PM
I'm so sick of Apple. I wish the whole company died with Jobs.

It kind of did. The company had better ideas with Jobs still there.

My Samsung Galaxy S6 makes watches of any kind obsolete.

Yet Samsung has smartwatches based on the same Galaxy brand.

Even if I had that watch I'd still need to carry a phone because the call quality sucks.

The real purpose of these devices is notifications and similar quick utilities. The watch will tell you you have a phone call, but you can still answer with your phone just fine.
214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today, I paid in BTC with my Apple Watch on: April 30, 2015, 08:27:51 PM
Full disclosure, I just got back from the future where everyone is transacting btc using smart watches.  This capability was given the green light by President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho, porn star and five-time ultimate smackdown wrestling champion.

It wasn't clear the original post was a joke. Now it is.

Why would it be a leap for the watch to be able to do this?

It's not a leap. Most internet devices can be expected to eventually handle Bitcoin transactions. The problem is, you stated it as if the watch already had the function (which no, there's no app yet), and you said that you “scan send address”... how? The Apple Watch doesn't have a scanner or a camera. If NFC was used, then it's not “scanning”, but rather “tapping”.

I'm not rushing out to buy one just yet, but I was curious if anyone had the inside scoop of the capabilities of the heart rate monitor.  Like what else can it do.

So, what is this thread really about? About using Bitcoin with the Apple Watch? Or about health features of the Apple Watch? If it's the latter, then thread should be in the Off-topic section.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: i found satoshi nakamoto on: April 30, 2015, 05:28:50 PM
The only thing clear about Satoshi's name is that it's a pseudonym.

Yes, but it's a male pseudonym. As long as we don't have more information about this person, the right thing is to refer to him as a male.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin v. Bitcoin on: April 30, 2015, 04:19:52 PM
in the past it all used to be about the miners, what the miners supported would win, but thats all changing its getting more and more about the market, even a non mineable coin can survive.

truth be told the future will be even further from the miner, even the core dev will tell you themselves that POW was only ever designed to be a short term solution.

PoW, a short term solution? No, that's not what Satoshi envisioned. Why do you get such an odd idea?

then you wont like 20:59  Shocked in this video

so yeah not my idea.

You're right. I don't like it Sad

I dont mean to pick,

But i had to laugh at the idea of the microwave ordering nutritous meals for you only to zap the nutrition right out of it.

Disclaimer, microwaves fuck your food.

No. Food usually microwaved is already fucked before entering the microwave (think all those frozen pizzas and cup noodles).

Hey BitCoin enthusiasts, I am trying to figure out if it is possible or if people even want a better BTC. If so how would you go about doing this.

I am not sure it is possible. I would want to make bitcoin ASIC proof, so mining could be more distributed.

Is that even physically possible?
