No, for cases like this banks have *insurance*. In US, that's FDIC. The bank might fail (3 have in 2016), but their customers, punters like you, lost exactly no money. None. Nothing to do with bailouts.

In the EU deposit insurance is limited to 100K Euro. Deposits beyond that are not protected from haircuts.

When the Cyprus fiasco occurred I think it was everything above 200k Euro's ... I think they where more generous or something... or maybe the fear of Putin! Cheesy

Fiat transfers don't work that well on Saturdays and Sundays though...

All this sh!tstorm started on August 3rd ... so they had 2-3 days time to do stuff.

This looks like its gonna blow out of proportion.

I see he/they stopped pumping and they are accumulating... Judging by the volumes they are trying to dry what is left out so they can push upwards easy, with resistance only from the exchange, and not even that since everyone will try to buyback in.  Grin

*Edit: And it seems that they might be buying from Stamp. Or they already bought till now mostly what they had to buy, and they are needing a bit more.

I love how the kid doing PR for Bitfinex is now saying the hack will only impact BTC balances, and those with USD used in a BTC margin position.

"A coin that shall not be named!!!", "A coin that shall not be named!!!", "A coin that shall not be named!!!", and pure USD clients get away without a scratch! lol.

That could be true... especially if they don't assume responsibility for the theft and throw all the BTC thieved users under the buss. With the promise that they will track and sanction any transaction with provenience from the theft or descendant from the theft.

*Edit: This could basically set a precedent for all the black listed transaction to be put under scrutiny and surveillance. Hence the coins to be worthless and 100% probably confiscated in some unknown future transaction.

Better? Almighty forum God??  Roll Eyes

*Edit: This could basically set a precedent for all the black listed transaction to be put under scrutiny and surveillance. Hence the coins to be worthless and 100% probably confiscated in a unknown future transaction.

Thief creates transaction with .2 btc in fees every block. Fee is melted into coin base rewards. Next ten years of coin base rewards are blacklisted. Miners can't profit. Bitcoin network ceases to exist! LOL! Wink

How many coins have been blacklisted from the countless other thefts in the history of Bitcoin? How many confiscated?

If there is a paper-trail of the legitimacy of the original ownership... You can probably recover and confiscate those coins from anyone who own them in the future... even if its 0.00023505BTC   from a 23.42509251BTC part of a coin. This will force people to check some apps that verify the legitimacy of the coins, to not be black listed in the international white market community. Or... the thieves will have a black-list market where they will use only black-listed coins for transactions.

*Edit: And it will be like drugs and DEA ... where they are infiltrated in illegal transactions to find out new coins that are not on the white market. Basically like doing exploration/expedition for new mineral resources in the precious metal/petroleum industries.

*Edit2: I can already see an Interpol/DEA entity/institution founded by the BTCitcoin white-listed market founder community, that are set to hunt all the black-listed transactions. To confiscate them and turn them in to the white-listed transaction market.

ALL blockchain limitations? What does an enormous German file magnate know that others don't? Does he employ anyone to work on this type of thing? If so, why haven't we heard any squeaks before?

There was Vice episode made specially for him in New Zealand where he was on house arrest on his estate that had a golf course and all that sh!t.. that place was huge!!! ... sigh... "house arrest"  Wink Wink

And  he is the kind of guy that puts others to do stuff for him... he doesn't seem to do much on his own... maybe eat and exercise... and pay hookers to F' him!... He's so fat he can't even move his ass properly.

When everything is devalued to hell and food is expensive etc. who will pay the expensive money for your valuable bitcoins?

Yep... he's a troll.  Cheesy  ... Basically all currencies devalued and if everyone holds... Bitcoin can't go down... that's pure economics 101.  Grin
It is basically just wealth created out of thin air.
2015  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 05, 2016, 07:49:33 AM
Well what do we talk about now then??

Global warming is a hoax and we are heading towards an mini-ice age actually. Food prices will rise like hell...  Roll Eyes

It will be a devaluation sh!tfest for everyone, because every country/government will try to get the best food outcome possibility for their country. Meaning that all devaluation will help BTCitcoin.

[edited out]

.........(*Edit I say your fun and your team, but I am kidding, and actually that particular piece of wizardry is really going to be fun for one and all)

Wizards.... wizards everywhere.

(something something Bitfinex/Bitgo something something..wizards...something something....cunts more like)

Unless we are not living in the real world, none of us can completely detach from various dynamics in our environments, including, to some extent, buying into existing institutional systems.....  we are not going to get anywhere if we attempt to make our own perfect world if it does not take into account various imperfect human systems and various quasi-unpredictable imperfect human applications of existing systems

Wizards might be real... The mechanics of quantum physics are weird. Meaning that anything can be possible in the perfect circumstance. Totally outrageous and mind boggling if you ask me...  Huh Huh Huh

*Edit: So don't f'ing bother disproving magic or time travel. You will spin worse than a dog chasing its own tail.

Ok.. So we have a verdict for Turkey, all hopes are crushed for that country for at least another 15-20 years. Because, Austria just used their veto power to deny any possibility for Turkey to adhere or apply for any EU passports for Turkey citizens. Amen!!! ... it would have been a dizathaaa for 79 million muslimz to have access to move freely in the EU zone.

*Edit: For those who don't know ... you need all members to agree on any external issue like a trade agreement or the accession of an non-EU country. For example if 27/28 agree on a issue and 1 does not, things like TTIP don't have a chance.
2018  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 04, 2016, 04:01:45 PM

people also have to keep in mind that all this bullshit doesn't create real growth but nominal growth.

most people don't benefit from any type of growth and haven't for many years. you may as well get enough to a buy a few free tvs to enjoy watching the world burn in 4k.

Already buyed one.. Also an industrial bag of 50 kilo bag of popcorn maze, and 2x 50 liter canisters of beer. Bring it on world burning in flames!

It is going back up where it was before this semi-fake crash.

I can't believe there are people that stupid to call this a fake crash lol

I can't believe there are people so stupid that believe there is no China bitcoin exchange trading cartel.

They know the price on the long run it can't go but UP! ... so they had to do a big shake of weak hands to buy with at least 10-15% cheaper.

*Edit: If you pay close attention on all exchanges in the same time... you will see that China is calling all the shots. Meaning if they have coins on all exchanges, they know ahead of everybody when they pump or dump! ... I have a suspicion that even the Finex exchange fiasco happened because the chinese traders expanding their borders on the gambling grand scheme. And it was a good opportunity to scare them off and not get involved in the West anymore.
