2021  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: bitcap.io Investment Fund launched! LIMITED: Get 0.1 BTC package FREE OF CHARGE! on: April 18, 2016, 10:42:20 AM
April 18th payouts sent to account balances and reinvested for almost 1500 users.

Proof?
2022  Other / Meta / Re: Pyramid smart contract? on: April 18, 2016, 10:21:10 AM
Can the owner change the contract? If so, what's stopping them from changing it?

Without in any way setting myself up as an expert on Etherium or smart contracts, the answer is basically no.

http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/41597/ethereum-contract

Quote
There's also the nature of ponzis to think about, which is theft from new investors to pay old ones.

Yes, you keep repeating that.
I agree that it is confusing and unfortunate to try and float a legitimate game by using a label associated with fraud.

At the moment, most fair crypto gambling is just traditional fiat games like dice, poker adapted for the purpose.
Maybe, just maybe, by this smart contract approach a crypto specific game which is transparent and "fair" within its own context will be developed.
For a supposedly innovative environment people seem very resistant to and conservative about change.

And no, I don't support Ponzi Schemes, I spend a good deal of time calling them out.
2023  Other / Meta / Re: Pyramid smart contract? on: April 17, 2016, 10:29:55 PM
....As people in this thread have pointed out, for it to be a scam there has to be deception involved. Otherwise it's just a game where you take a chance willingly.

Seriously? A ponzi takes the funds from new investors and gives part of them to the old ones, that's called stealing, which is also a crime. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=define%3A+ponzi#

If you want to quote definitions, how about giving the full one, instead of cherrypicking to suit your POV?

Quote from: dictionary
A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation where the operator, an individual or organization, pays returns to its investors from new capital paid to the operators by new investors, rather than from profit earned through legitimate sources.

Note the use of the word fraudulent.

Quote from: dictionary
fraudulent
obtained, done by, or involving deception, especially criminal deception.

Deception is an integral part of the fraudulent behaviour involved in a Ponzi scheme.
Typically for example, this can be claiming to cloud mine and paying back small amounts to early investors from their own or later investments, until the admin have collected sufficient to run away with, and close down the scam.

A "last one in loses" game where there are willing participants, no deception involving lies about non existent business revenue and, because of smart contracts, no possibility of the admin having access to the funds and running away with them, is a completely different thing.

2024  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: ♦ ETHx2.bid ♦ Double ETH-Ethereum in 170 hours on: April 17, 2016, 08:33:02 PM
I'm aware what a ponzi is. But you missing the point.
Every single project in this sub, is a ponzi or pyramid.
I see no problem with that. You KNOW that it is a ponzi.
Everybody know it and decided to invest anyway.
The projects advertise themself as ponzis / pyramids.

What make this a scam?!

You KNOW that you maybe don't get your money back when not enough people invest.
That is the whole deal of this projects.

The difference with ether is: The admin can not run away with the coins.

Do you realy think a single one of this doublers / cloud miners or other "make money fast"
projects is not a ponzi? cmon Cheesy

You "see no problem...it is a ponzi" because "Everybody know it...The projects advertise themself as ponzis".
How about the one in your signature, cldmine?
That advertises itself as a cloud miner, but as you say "c'mon" it's a "make money fast" ponzi. There's nothing to stop cldminer admin running away with the coins.
So, you advertise something you know is a scam?
2025  Local / India / Amit Bhardwaj, the Gainbitcoin thief and liar. on: April 17, 2016, 07:11:10 PM
There is a clone of the Hashocean scam cloud miner going by the name of Gainbitcoin, being promoted on Roger Ver's dead forum as an Indian service, hence my post here.

I call it a clone because when you follow Gainbitcoin Mining FAQ links, they go straight to the HashOcean site.
I call HashOcean a scam because obvious.

The main promoter of this thing is a crap referral site 1bitcoindaily.com. This site resolves to Kshitij Mehrotra, who seems to organize the Dehli branch of BitcoinIndia and authored the Bitcoin referral post.
Anyhow, he is claiming that Amit Bhardwaj/Kumar of 2014 HighKart.com fame is "the owner of Gainbitcoin". Does Amit also own HashOcean too, or just steal bits of their website? Or what?
Is he available for a comment?
I'm sure it's all a clerical error. Or something.
2026  Local / India / Re: Please suggest a cloud mining service on: April 17, 2016, 05:35:12 PM
Do we have any website covering all the cloud mining service covered under a single site ?

There's a thread here giving you an idea of what not to look for in a cloud miner.
BELIEVE NO-ONE, unfortunately, is the only default approach to have in this field.
2027  Other / Meta / Re: Pyramid smart contract? on: April 17, 2016, 10:15:16 AM
This comes back to the definition of a Ponzi and the necessity for deception to be involved in order to define a scheme as such.
IF there is no deception, no claim that magic profits will be made, no claim that everyone wins, then where is the scam?
A game of "last in loses" with a clearly written contract which, if the claims for ETH smarts are correct, obviates the possibility of the organizer running off with the money, is what it says: just a game and, more importantly, everyone involved knows that.
2028  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoinminersuk.com: is this legit on: April 17, 2016, 09:59:59 AM
Hi all very new to the world of bitmining and having to learning very quickly.
I too agree with many of the comments on this forum as in web site, trading address which is an actual post code ect but would like to say I have bought 5 s7 ant miners and 5 bitmain psu's from James and the transaction went well, he responded within an hour of my mail requesting a price and this was at stupid o'clock at night, he got me a price and sent me a pro forma invoice all within 24 hours, I paid via bank transfer and he confirmed the order.
The units where delayed slightly by transport / bank holiday and he was very apologetic, couldn't help enough, he sent me the tracking info and the miners arrived, I now have an issue with one unit which he is helping with tech support.
Looks to be a guy trying to help by giving a product at a good price and tech support along the way.
I will be buying from him again so hope others will also.
Gh

Just seen this. Why is it always one post newbies that  do the successful deal?
Got any proof?
2029  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Advice On Bitcoin Miners. on: April 16, 2016, 04:48:13 PM
As I said earlier in the thread, good luck.
All I will add is that a business plan based on free electricity in the hands of a third party is not built on the firmest of foundations.
Without that free power, you're just another guy with a bunch of unprofitable machinery.
2030  Other / Meta / Re: Public list of yobit spammers(this one's gonna be long boys) on: April 16, 2016, 04:43:00 PM

It looks like bitcointalk enforcers is heavily biased towards Filipinos.

They are targeting Filipinos.

I report spammers, I don't give a fuck what country they come from and any implication that there is a racial motive is offensive and complete crap.
As I pointed out here.
2031  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Reported na mga accounts |PH| on: April 16, 2016, 04:36:38 PM
Warning na guys sa pagpopost dito sa local, nagsasalita na ang mga nasa itaas:

Sadly true. If we don't try do something about it now it wont be long before the only people posting here are Indonesians and Filipinos with their entire friends and family posting away on ten accounts each all just stating 'we all hope to make profit because bitcoin is good because you can make profit which is nice' over and over again reworded ever so slightly.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1241968.msg14537093#msg14537093

EDIT:
Ban na pala si story.

Hi.
Yes, I report spammers with signature campaigns, usually Yobit, because I believe that BitCoinTalk forum is an important Bitcoin resource.
I believe that continued unrestricted spamming will drive away knowledgeable, experienced contributors and lead to a decline in BCT forum's influence and standing. This will be bad for any true Bitcoin enthusiast and Bitcoin itself.
You know the proverb about Killing the Goose that Laid the Golden Egg?

Because I agreed with Hilarious and pointed out, a little humorously, that there is a lot of spamming coming from Philippines based accounts, a poster has rushed to your defense and implied there is a racial motive.
Not so.

I understand that signature campaign payments have a higher value to people from low income countries.
I think that it's great that young people can get an income from faucets and sig campaigns.
Just....DON'T SPAM.

The only benefit that you can get into joining HYIP are the lesson that you will learn from joining them when they have taken away your money and you cant do anything about it.

Those rich person can really afford to make gambling as a hobby because of they wealth they have and dont think about money and just gamble for fun.

I was also thinking that the price of bitcoin will be much more higher in the months to come and i was hoping that the price of bitcoin would reach 1k so that there will be profit to be made.

I think 80% of the users of bitcoin is now getting a hold of more bitcoin now and just is waiting for the halving to come to sell all the coins they have gather so far and make money.

We are really going to that price slowly within a few more months and the halving is the main reason why we are heading to a great price for bitcoin.

Maybe we can reach 1k for a time being maybe around 5-10 day then the price of bitcoin will now be going down rapidly i think that 500-600 will be the new bottom.

There are countries that bitcoin is ban but most countries have embrace bitcoin and companies there are now investing and making a move for local user of bitcoin to used their bitcoin locally.

Me too almost all my bitcoin are in trading with alt coins and my bitcoin is widely disperse, right now i only have 0.1 bitcoin so far in my wallet.

Yes buying at a low price is really the ideal buy time for bitcoin so that when you sell it you can have profit,i guess your friends are rich because they cant afford to waste such money.

I doubt that will happen bitcoin wont really be able to defeat dollar because the govern of america is backing up the dollar and dollar is a sign of their strength.

A bitcoin wallet is a great decision because in bitcoin your money is increasing rapidly while in banks you only get 1% interest yearly and with the value of money that is getting low then bitcoin is really a right choice.

If bitcoin would drop to a dollar then i think its time to change ship and i will sell all my bitcoin before i hit the $1 mark,i would go to eth, lite or even dash.

That's a random selection of half an hour's spam posting. I have stripped out some quote trees (sorry, but including quotes to make the message bigger just doesn't work).
There is no original content, nothing is added to the subject and none of the posts would be missed at all if they were not there.

Reported ako for what reason kaya yun?.wala naman akong makitang connection sa nag report sa akin and yet ni report ako?

I reported you because you post insubstantial posts for signature campaign payment. Clear?
2032  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashOcean reviews on: April 16, 2016, 03:22:02 PM
I'm investing some money with Hasocean and I'm happy with it. The service is only since over 3 years now. Every 3 days I earn 0.005 to my wallet and i never had some problems with it.
I have a little blog where you can see something about Hashocean and other investment sites. Take a look at my signature.

Happy earnings Smiley

If you are setting yourself up as a HYIP Monitor site, don't be surprised if you receive negative trust.
Many people, including me, think that HYIP=scam waiting to happen and that 'monitors' serve no useful purpose apart from legitimizing them by using the word "investment".
Your data has no value. The point of HYIP's is they pay until they don't.
2033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Genesis-mining.com || World's leading hashpower provider! on: April 15, 2016, 05:06:05 PM
probably one of my best moves was to sign up for their ETH mining early.....

I still have another 3/4 of the year to go!!

VERY HAPPY!

So you gave Genesis 0.75BTC on 17th Dec, which was about $335. Today you have $410 profit. Nice.
Had you bought $335 worth of ETH on 17th Dec instead, you would have gotten around 372 ETH.
Today you would have had $2700 profit (or over $5000 a month ago). Nicer.

Presumably you were bullish on ETH in December, or you wouldn't have bought a mining contract which would have been worth jack shit if ETH had stayed under a dollar.
Why give someone your money to mine some of it. Why not just buy it in the first place?
2034  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashOcean reviews on: April 15, 2016, 03:13:27 PM

i just keep the profit growing i mean once i break even I'm just going to double...

...if you break it down and think about it it is a ponzi scheme...

 ....its safer then playing roulette...

....apparently they just opened up another data center so that could be why theres small issues

The thought that there are 427,665 other people about like you is profoundly depressing.
2035  Economy / Speculation / Re: Technical Analysis Prediction on: April 15, 2016, 01:50:41 PM
Possibly, but there are such things as false breakouts. I'd wait for a break of the February highs for a confirmation.

Still wondering why global moderators are not banning investor based games yet... Ponzis shit like this should not even be allowed in this forums.  Lips sealed

There's a thread about that on meta right now. I think the logic is to keep all the shit in the same place.
