https://twitter.com/Excellion/status/1028426579158884352According to the Bitmain pre-IPO investor deck, they sold most of their #Bitcoin for #Bcash. At $900/BCH, they've bled half a billion in the last 3 months. If Bitcoin Core devs didn't disclose the Bcash vulnerability, it could've wiped a billion dollars off their balance sheets. Let me put it this way, Mr. Amor. The 9000 series is the most reliable computer ever made. No 9000 computer has ever made a mistake or distorted information. We are all, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error.

That is the problem with trends. Nobody can estimate when the bounce will happen to recover from the drop. The market recently has been dropping and it worries plenty of people including myself.
What makes you there will be another massive drop before recovery starts? Another big drop will damage invesstor confidence even more so rather than see a drop in one go I would prefer it if that same drop happened over a period of several days instead of a few hours.
There’s so much manipulation in bitcoin and crypto in general that it’s hard to make educated guesses. I’m going with gut feeling right now so I could be wrong. signature campaigns are the biggest problem in crypto?...thanks for playing!! ![Kiss](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/kiss.gif) weeeee

MOAR BLOOD! Time for the alts is up. I particularly liked reading about bitmain's (Jihan and Rogers) misfortune with B-cash today. I'm almost feeling guilty how much I savored it.
BTC DOMINANCE 52.3 and climbing! BTFD is already happening round here. Not too concerned how far it drops from here, in fact I'm really hoping for an amazing buy opp.
Eth has dropped close to 10% today, it's pretty shocking, I thought eth would be pretty pegged to btc. What's shocking is the length of time it took the market to realize how absurd alts are. Not holding any alts, just enjoying the show. coinmarketcap is absurd ..they need to be forced to provide legit real time data. ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif)

@here Progress update on the PoW hard fork. One component (the major one) is complete which is a clean fork of the ethash repository with working code using the new algo. https://github.com/ethereum/ethashA sample test case of getting the seedhash works in C and Go. In C: $ ./Test --log_level=message Running 23 test cases... Testing initialization : Seedhash: 30000: 320b5ea99e653bc2b593db4130d10a4efd3a0b4cc2e1a6672b678d71dfbd33ad in Go: $ ./test.sh ################# Testing Go ################## 2018/08/13 00:25:16 ============ TestGetSeedHash 2018/08/13 00:25:16 TestGetSeedHash GetSeedHash(0) seed0: 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 2018/08/13 00:25:16 TestGetSeedHash GetSeedHash(30000) seed1: 320b5ea99e653bc2b593db4130d10a4efd3a0b4cc2e1a6672b678d71dfbd33ad PASS Seedhash for block 30000 matches cleanly for C and Go code. This means we have a complete specification example(s) of the new algorithm. The next step is we will be adding the new algo to the Gubiq codebase and checking out where ethash is mentioned. We will take a better look at the places in the code that need be modified to hard fork everyone who lost coins should report to BBB !! ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif)

It is weird to read all these unresolved issues with Bittrex. I also have an account there for few years already and so far so good. I tried a separate account before and both accounts were locked. But after I submitted all the proofs and legalities I was able to access my account few weeks later.
https://www.bbb.org/us/wa/bellevue/profile/virtual-currency/bittrex-inc-1296-1000048938PATTERN OF COMPLAINT: On December 12, 2017, BBB recognized a pattern of complaints from consumers regarding repair and customer service issues. Consumers allege they are unable to access their accounts through Brittrex. #PITCHFORKS&TORCHES LIT

So as good as it is to see Devcoin listed on exchanges we do need to be careful about where funds are traded especially as Vircurex and Cryptsy turned out to be bad exchanges and funds lost. Note this scam accusation thread about listex.io https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4799338.0stay safe and keep vigilant Fuzzybear Good to know, I was just looking at that exchange. Hi develCuy,
My understanding is that all of jasinlee's duties have now been assigned to other Admins (primarily ctya), as jasinlee had requested some time ago. Kudos to jasinlee for hanging in there, for so long, after that request!
The 2/5-Node Maintenance (seed node) duties mentioned above are still in question. Perhaps ctya would know if that was part of the server software/data moved off jasinlee's server? All the rest can be removed, though. Please let me know when your updates are complete so as to update the Devcoin HR Resources page accordingly.
Thanks,
Nova
I still hope to have some clear info about seed nodes because people could claim they do things but they aren't. How can we confirm that a seed node is running if we don't even know the IP address? My take on it is to become a little strict. Apart from my node ( http://dvcexplorer.wy.si/) I don't know of any other. NOW listen carefullyI'll drop node maintenance rewards from people not replying to this message. Deadline is 2 weeks! Emfox, Hunterbunter, Jasinlee, Markm, Shattienator PLEASE CONFIRM that you are still run your seed nodes. (sent you a private message as well) EVERYONE If you are not mentioned but you are in contact with such people, please reply here. Thanks! P.S: If you have other duties, please confirm those as well What is involved in running a seed node and do you need more? wheres fin shaggy? .. i'll help fund a bounty to find him! ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) haha

Part of it is poking fun at legacy finance folks that I've started seeing on reddit. Financial advisers that were so good at their jobs that they never saw how well Bitcoin would do. For some reason their government required certifications did not include looking into things outside of their bubble. And instead of recognizing a potential new technology, they attack it because they need to protect their old system (after all, they did invest a lot of time in those classes and certs).
Indeed. While in Vegas last week I ran into thousands of "Evolve" people at some sort of "financial management" get together. All wearing same shirts, all ready to pull out their cards to give you financial advice (seemed like a pyramid scam). Funniest part was waiting by a rest room and talking to a guy about it. Offered me his card, I said no, he said "so you're not ready to make REAL MONEY". I told him I invested in Bitcoin early on. He shut up. Real money (spit). I want real bitcoins. Edit: I just looked them up and found it World Financial Group. Basically a MLM scam. God I can call these frauds well..... you get your devil worshiper haxXoR badge? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) muuhahaaa ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fpbs.twimg.com%2Fmedia%2FDF7yg3xU0AAd-_g.jpg&t=663&c=RTfueBlWpWjvuw)

I am staking 12.000 clams from desktop wallet. Time expected to earn 1 clam is 1 hour (says wallet) But I am not getting more than 5-8 each day. Is that ok.
Not sure where that calculation comes from but it isn't correct. You are staking 12k claims. The reward per staked block is 1 clam. If you were to get one block every hour that would be 1/60 of the total, so by simple math the the network total staked would be 720k. That's off by half or more. i see off chain sub-atomic swaps inkoming ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) hodl >>> clams/xmr/bti

My question is: EMC2 really needs lightning network? For what I understand about Einstenium, it's not a project that aims to be and "everyday" currency, in my opinion it doesn't need to scale in that way. It could use smart contracts instead, since there is a crowdfunding component involved. Also yeah, atomic swaps
jump on the emc2/segwit bandwagon ![Kiss](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/kiss.gif) weeee
