2041  Economy / Gambling / Re: Whats happening with Betnomi? on: September 01, 2023, 11:32:28 AM

If I may offer perspective from my own [personal] professional career, such cases where shareholders or the higher-ups are disagreeing about the direction of their company are not uncommon. And usually, it's solved through finding a middle way, taking majority votes if necessary, and on severe case, offering a buy out for the partners. One or two even publicly announced [it's a small business close to where I live] that they have internal issues and will come back with solution in an undetermined time, but assure that they will give their best, clear all of their duties and responsibilities, and then pull the brake while they internally solving their issue. None of the companies with these issues in the past from my experience took the houdini act.

To stage a come back is different from exit scam and you know the difference like you explained and narrated in your story at least the company told those customers that they are coming back better and stronger. This is what is expected from betnomi from customers and other people who may not have opened an account with them but were already believing in them only to be disappointed. So if company truly want to take a break to come back at a later date, they announce that to workers, customers and general public that is the difference.
2042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos Should Also Be Prepared For Health Emergencies on: September 01, 2023, 11:15:42 AM

Having a full medical team ready for health emergencies is a big bonus wherever they are. But it's on the government to make some rules about it, and then casinos and all other big resorts will have it. When they earn millions they should be able to spend some money on this as well.

This should be the requirements to meet before launching a casino especially offline and depending on the size because some are very large as a mega station or office while some are sub offices. So those that big should have the emergency care unit that could take care of such need before the person is taken to hospital for proper medication. Regulation and rules should be in the jurisdiction of the government, they are the one to ensure there is legal backing before casinos will comply but if there are non, then it will be business as usual and someone likely to survive if emergency care was given could die on the spot while trying to bet or viewing results of his bet because his heart pumped from the results he saw .
2043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 01, 2023, 09:45:18 AM
I dislike when a gambler exhaust his money playing without winning and he comes to you for rising believing that he would win the next best whilst he had not won on a 10 roll straight (rising is known in local parlance as borrow or asking for loan). It may look common not to be disliked but it looks absurd to borrow to bet. This usually happens in offline gambling and some bettors are use to it, the addicts who always feel they made a mistake in the previous bet/game and that was why they didn't win so they want to persistently keep trying until eternity without reading between the lines that it is not working for that day .
2044  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚠️ Warning: Bons.com - Disturbing Practices, Unfair Fees & Manipulated Reviews on: September 01, 2023, 09:25:14 AM

7. My Future Plans: Given my experiences and observations, I'm contemplating launching a small website dedicated to unadulterated reviews. The focus will be on genuine feedback from users, including myself, without any commercial incentives or affiliate commissions. Authenticity and honesty will be at its core.

I see that is what it is, you want to raise your own website of course.

So how are you going to get such genuine feedback or reviews from users willingly or how are you going to convince readers of those reviews that what they are reading is genuine feedback.
The feedback mechanism is no more trusted and that is why when you see a review that attracts you but signing up, you get something not as expected.

Quote
4. Hidden Charges and High Fees: The fees here are nothing short of daylight robbery. Aside from taxing deposits and withdrawals heavily, there's a staggering 10% fee on withdrawals. They even coerce users into meeting a wagering requirement to avoid this 10% fee, irrespective of whether you used any bonus.

5. Suspicious Online Reviews: My alarm bells started ringing louder when I noticed the peculiar behavior of their online reviews. Negative feedback on Trustpilot seems to vanish into thin air. This manipulation isn't isolated to just Trustpilot – many review sites, especially in the casino and sportsbook domain, seem to be swayed easily by financial incentives.

These two above points are what I picked out from your complaints to be worried about. If a casino has hidden charges then it means they are not sincere to their customers. Otherwise, KYC is the same thing everywhere.
2045  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Coping with the country's economic situation on: August 31, 2023, 10:16:52 PM
Nor be lie you talk. Unnecessary spending na wetin we need to avoid, but as man wey you be, you nor go fit dodge all billing especially baby own and family billing. Na to cut down lifestyle oh, person nor dey live like say things still dey as before. Ordinary loaf of bread now na #1500, even down to pure water…everything don high.

Na the point line be that, to reduce cost by reducing unnecessary spending na the situation be that. For now anybody wey no reduce unnecessary and frivolous spending, that person no dey naija. Every product don go up no be small and yet government no dey make any proactive step to curtail the hardship, even labour self don fall my hand, them no get purpose, dem no dey try. 2046  Economy / Economics / Re: Increase in stable coins adoption might just be the key to crpyto dominance. on: August 31, 2023, 08:17:54 PM
What value stablecoins settle? Go to any supermarket in the world and you'll see people paying with Visa or Mastecard every single minute. But where are the stablecoin payments?  I never encountered a business, even a small one, that accepts stablecoins.

My guess is that most of the activity on stablecoin network is speculative trading, especially by bots. If someone shut down stablecoins tomorrow, the world wouldn't notice. If someone shut down Visa tomorrow, that would be Armageddon.

I like the analysis of stablecoin and Visa to see that even Visa is valid and valued for P2P transaction more than stablecoin that is pegged with another fiat and bitcoin the most of all decentralized coin with freedom, privacy and dominance on all other coin .

So why not go direct and use your card and at least avoid the primary stress of accessing the internet.

2047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: August 31, 2023, 07:51:02 PM

Most of the losses I have recorded in recent time comes as a result of not withholding myself from continuing gambling when I have already reached my limit in the week.

I'm sure you understand now what self control can do  Grin

If you can't run away at those times you have made reasonable winnings then you might be tempted to continue. I have witnessed such when a gambler off line made money from playing visual soccer and he gave out some money to other bettors around there who were playing with him until he started winning. So after he shared some money to those gamblers too he kept staying at the game house looking at same screen and watching the games others were playing and he got interested again to play a game he felt was a guarantee and behold he lost that game and that was how he started playing again chasing the lost money, that was how he lost all the money left with him.
2048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: August 31, 2023, 05:17:04 PM
Has your responsible gambling habit had any positive effects on your relationships .

I think this is the question. Of course when you do things in moderation and responsibly, you wouldn't have problems with yourself or other people because you have balanced it out. You can only be a responsible gambler if you are not an addict, which means you will have control of yourself, your activities and relationship. You will also have a budget for gambling and you will keep to it. For example I get satisfied with my budget even if I exhausted it without winning and I move on very well with myself and people around also until the next time I decide to. It is fun to gamble responsibly because you wouldn't have to start chasing your loses which is a major reason for addiction.
2049  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: August 31, 2023, 04:26:23 PM
The weather factor is of course the trigger for several countries experiencing drought, causing agricultural land to lack water sources.  In fact, the current summer is quite extreme in some tropical countries, especially since farmers are also having difficulty producing maximum harvests.  As a result, there were many crop failures which became the main trigger for the increase in most food ingredients

If all things were suppose to be the way we expect it, the government is suppose to play an important role in times of drought by providing adequate irrigation service. Large farms are suppose to be supported even when the small and rural farms will be too strenuous for government to deal with. Government know the big farms so I believe if they are sincere to feed the people time in and out of season then they should focus towards providing support for big farms at least that will go along way to help reduce hunger during drought season until the rain come back.
2050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: History of Gambling From Ancient Times to the Digital Age on: August 31, 2023, 03:16:16 PM

The origin of the gambling was begin from the offline gambling which is the card games and cock fighting. The cock fighting was the traditional gambling in the Asian Nation even now with huge was survive because of the people support.Without the support the offline gambling won't survive till now after the existence of most of the online crypto gambling. The gambling based on the fiat was developed to the casino based on the most of the reputed crypto currency like btc,Eth,Usdt and some of the gambling site had their own coin to play their gambling site. The gambling based on their own coin will survive for longer period.

I will not also agree with op or from the link he got those from and no doubt that he has done a good background on gambling exposing various histories and kinds of gambling from different geographical locations that were covered. So what about those regions that had their own "crude" ways that they gambled at different level?

In Africa for example, they had their own ways of gambling which perhaps have not been recorded as at the time they started existing. Africa had a way of life that was sufficiently robust and all encompassing and satisfying their socio political well being but most of the things recorded in Africa was as a result of the missionaries expedition visit to Africa that opened Africa to the scrabbling of it (Africa). So there are gambling games that have existed even till this time that are not in casinos.
2051  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "France" A colonial Thief on: August 31, 2023, 02:37:32 PM

Has France instituted a government that will collaborate with them to steal from its people or is the military in these country tasty of power?

Something like this are being analysed by some political analyst that perhaps France is trying to play the devils advocate here by surreptitiously installing military puppets that will still do their bidding but how true this is I can't tell and it still remains a mystery to be unravelled in the times to come but for the people on the streets of these coup ravanged countries, they don't feel the presence of democracy and I think this feeling is across Africa except those who find themselves or relatives in power could support the impunity of corruption going on in leadership in West Africa and Africa at large.
2052  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Leaders are Dreamers on: August 31, 2023, 02:19:32 PM

Leaders dream out their success, this is not by merely sleeping and dreaming, but it is achieved by consistent nurturing of the inner workings of your mind. as a leader your dreams come alive when you so desire it in your mind, your thoughts that way your nurtured dream is cultivated into actions and a working body.

I don't see leaders and dream like that of sleeping on the bed at night and dreaming only because you can also get inspired or get confirmation to what you want to do to take the society forward by dream, I don't see it like the type dreamt by Joseph but I see leadership dream as aspiration of what he wants to achieve for the society in the future. In other words the future comes in as very important for the leader. A leader who doesn't have clear positive future for the people obviously will crash the people on a place they won't be able to move away from in a long time and this includes economic stagnation and redundancy. But having a positive dream for the future will improve the lives of the people and the generations to come because of the positive policies that were implemented.
2053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do the size and frequency of online casino winnings depend on the time of year? on: August 31, 2023, 01:22:23 PM
Gambling doesn't have low or high season for winning or losing. It is not like in transfer of coins when you think of low traffic and high traffic times like night and day. No it doesn't happen that way for me. What I notice is some days are good days, some days are very good, some fair and some bad. It then depends on what we do with our bets on such days , we need to calculate on what is working for us and if it is good we take the opportunity to ride it but if it is a bad day, no need to continue.

If you are betting on soccer for example and the season is already ending then we should know teams that will win easily against those in relegation zones and those that are likely going to sell out their matches. Except maybe what you are talking about season is related to such time, and when teams are playing champion's league, they might relax some good players from the league which might affect their performance during that time but apart from that I don't think that season winning exist.
2054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: August 31, 2023, 12:20:43 PM
In general, gambling is not important for society because basically it will have a negative impact and harm yourself and other people around you, but on the contrary, if a country legalizes gambling, it will actually benefit that country, because of the possible taxes that bookies have to pay to the government.
However, it is different if the gambler is said to be a professional gambler, it is very likely that he always gets lucky or wins and loses a little.

You won't say gambling is not important to the society even though I feel you made that statement because of op's choice of topic. What he is trying to narrate is the importance of gambling companies to the society. Casinos are like business organizations through which government raise money from in taxes that they are charged for operating in their jurisdiction. So such taxes are used to develop the society and building infrastructures. Like some companies also have MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to help the society in aspects of giving scholarship and other social responsibilities to the society where they are but I don't know if casinos are that big and established to carry out such obligations, I know they are taxed anyway.

Meanwhile regards to the angle you are looking at on the impact it has on the gambler, it is just as the cigarettes companies. You are not forced to smoke just like you are not forced to gamble. Gamblers aim for the multiplier at their own peril.
2055  Economy / Gambling / Re: Thought's on many major fiat-crypto payment gateways ditching casino business's? on: August 31, 2023, 11:00:43 AM

I think it's a real shame that new providers won't have access to reputable fiat to crypto on-ramps, it creates an uneven playing field as the big guys get treated differently.

I don't think there is something wrong with staying with what you already know how they are or doing business with outlets that you have spent longtime business atmosphere with. Moreover, it is reasonable to say that these fiat payment gateways are only trying to be safe in the government where they are operating to avoid bringing in new casinos that have some illicit deals and money laundered through them. However, I don't think new casinos should bother their head on fiat payment because quite a hand full of gamblers prefer privacy and are transacting more of cryptocurrency. I can't imagine linking my fiat bank account to a casino when I could just transfer crypto, that is the point.

2057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos Should Also Be Prepared For Health Emergencies on: August 31, 2023, 09:33:21 AM
Perhaps it’s also possible seeing casinos with medical health professionals but it may only be possible for big and reputable casinos since a lot of tourists people will definitely visit them. However, they should still not be blamed if there are any incidents like cardiac arrest and did not survive because first and foremost, players should always be responsible enough not to take some risks especially for those who have serious heart concerns as they may or may not survive when that happens.

If the casino is not required to have some kind of medical services or first aid to take care of immediate health challenges then it might be free but if it is mandatory like I know there are laws to provide such services where people gather or work incase of such emergency and the casino is found wanting then it will be a problem for them. Worse of it is the negligence on the part of the casino for not at least support a dying customer but was only interested in serving cards and continuing business.
2058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Glitches still affects online casinos? Or it's the casinos that sucks on: August 31, 2023, 05:22:12 AM

It's annoying at best, and for superstitious gamblers like some they may take it as a sign of bad luck or the casino duping them into getting into a lose streak, but at the end of the day you come in gambling knowing that the odds are never in your favor, at the very least when you're dealing with online casinos the least you could do is expect for things like this to come up every now and again no matter how "revolutionary and state of the art" a casino's technology is.

It is not as if people feel superstitious out of the blues but it is the occurrence of things or event and their outcome that people see as sign which they try to guide themselves against the occurrence. Usually bad incidence or things not working smoothly may be a sign to discontinue. So I won't blame a gambler who  leaves because before hand had got the premonition that network glitch is a bad omen waiting to happen. Of course people would like to have such magical discernment to know when a game will not favour them, so it is not annoying.
2059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: August 30, 2023, 10:49:33 PM

These successful gamblers don't experience gambling addiction because they can manage everything well and use gambling well. They can overcome the temptation of gambling while other gamblers will find it difficult to do so. So we, who are just ordinary gamblers, must learn to control ourselves so we don't get addicted to gambling.

I think also that the reason that successful gamblers succeed is because they see gambling like business. In other words, in a business, it requires adequate plan and execution so also do  they gamble. They refuse the temptation of continuous gambling because they have lost some bet like it is used to gamblers who don't understand the withdrawal strategy.

Those who are addicts are the less successful gamblers and that is why they are always found gambling to win or recover losses, and the successful gamblers are not addicts because they don't display the desperation sign.
2060  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is politics really necessary? on: August 30, 2023, 09:58:51 PM

Disadvantages of politics:
1. The number of your enemies will increase
You don't have to be fearful about that but it is better to use the office to serve the people and not to increase their pain because you will be their enemy.

2. It will be a waste of money.

It depends on the level of politician you are. If you are a politician who is current government like cabinet member or minister, they earn salary and steal public money too

3. Your time will be wasted.

How? Politics is like work for some people because that is where they feed from.

4. You may have the possibility of death.

What kind of death precisely, do you mean natural death or death caused by the mob. Anyway, I see some politicians that are protected and those that are not protected, so it depends on where you fall under.
