First, these people wey you list as richest people for the world, e dey correct like that because I know say Dangote no be richest man for the world, he can be in Africa. So I don't know how you get that stat.

So about your topic, me I know think say I dey familiar with that but wetin I always dey hear na say black man no dey read book, like say if you no want make black man see where you hide something then make you hid am inside book say the black man no go see the thing unto say him no go find the thing reach there being say dem no go like read to dey enlightened. And that one mean say probably dem no dey follow the theories wey dey propanded from the book but me I no think so because blacks don really help the world in different innovations.
1302  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Whats your target of achievement in bitcoin in next year on: November 07, 2023, 10:36:28 AM

What strategies can be use to accumulate a bitcoin: this is another thing we should think of in bitcoin accumulations, some of us do not buy bitcoin when the price is low but they buy bitcoin when the price is increasing, the best time to accumulate your bitcoin is when is in DIP and when it rise you get high numbers of bitcoin.

The truth be say some people get am for mind to accumulate as much as but another thing na say the financial means no too dey stable. Like sometimes you get some things wey you need money for, if you look up and down you go still go touch the small coin wey you dey accumulate. You fit get one kind need for family, you no go fit go dey borrow money and na who go even gree say them get to borrow you. So na the thing be that.

E just be like say when you save some cash and you get issues with money, you fit still go touch that cash hoping say you go replace am back. Things dey expensive for the country and that one na already him own challenge.

But however, make we still try our best to hodl some fractions of btc because the bull no go be here as I dey see am.

Questions :
  • During the FTX crisis what your belief on bitcoin?

The criticism of bitcoin didn't start today. There have been the bubble and disappearance story of bitcoin from people like Warren Buffett and his likes but bitcoin is here already.

Moreover, the FTX wasn't particular about bitcoin, it was a scam of an exchange that was predicted to affect the trust in the crypto market and yes it did at the time which is normal and crypto is back because all those are past like others before FTX.

And FTX scam didn't affect forex market, I don't think it had any effect on the largest market with a daily volume of about $6 trillion.

  • Do you think will soon stop using CEX and opt for DEX and non custodian wallet?

Nope. The two exchanges will exist side by side if at all the total active users of DEX will equal half of exchange users. For now, CEX is the most popular. Some newbies see binance as the only crypto exchange. But be sure to store your coins on your personal wallet.

Those users who mind their privacy and the real nature of decentralized cryptocurrency look forward to DEX.

Lol....I just remember. I don even 4get say na home I dey self, I 4 dey blow my pidgin dey go. The tin dey sweet my skull.  Grin
1304  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: With the current hardship?? on: November 07, 2023, 05:45:48 AM
If you know get real need to dip hand inside your bitcoin investment e better make you leave am because this coming halving be like say e go really dey bullish with how things dey go for global economy. The wars wey dey go on don cause inflation to dey increase and that one don dey make more people dey carry fiat take hedge in btc, so e go make more value for btc. But if person get health issues and other serious challenge wey him go carry the money from bitcoin take solve then it should be done afterall na your money and na person wey dey alive dey invest.
1305  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The common saying Health is wealth on: November 06, 2023, 04:48:23 PM

Self medication is bad and it is not advisable to be undergone by any but seeking the presence of a professional is the best.

People have killed themselves because they aggrevated their health situation as a result of self medication and they are giving the excuse of not having money to take care of themselves. I believe some people have ignorantly allowed their health situation to go bad from the formation period that they would have gone for consultation and treatment and at the end they still spend same money they are running away from in a more expensive way and probably losing some vital part of their organ or eventual death. As they say, prevention is better than cure. So early detection helps to reduce severity of treatment.
1306  Economy / Economics / Re: Are You Sticking to Your Plan or Has Life Made You Pause or Modify It? on: November 06, 2023, 04:16:50 PM
a year ago, i was extremely disinterested with the idea of investing, trading and whatnot

i have heard about it and even tried to learn about it but i just could get myself to understand all its complexities never would have i thought that i’d be here holding bitcoin of my own
you’re right life rarely goes the way we expect it to and we are faced with numerous challenges along the way in which financial challenges being one of the most common through this website i was able to further understand bitcoin and cryptocurrency and was finally interested in investing

Nevertheless, don't put your eggs in one basket, always invest diversely. Like trading has been a very big challenge to keep hope on because it is highly risky. Bitcoin investment like hodling seem to me as more secured than trying out trading aspect. With bitcoin hodling, you are less pressured or scared because you have a chance to regain the drop because of the volatility. It is better to invest than to trade IMO.
1307  Economy / Economics / Re: What is happening with Naira/dollar rate on Binance on: November 06, 2023, 02:44:07 PM
I can't see a reason that binance P2P for usdt/USD for Naira should be dragged into Nigerian falling economy. Corruption is the ban of the Nigerian Naira. If we go to Nigerian banks that is suppose to dish out dollar in exchange of Naira, it is not available and you are forced to go to black market to buy and it is not regulated when the government was suppose to be the one regulating.

The government need to put amenities up that will begin to reengineer the economy into production and not consumption, so why the talk about binance P2P, this is just pure politics going on with Nigerian system.
1308  Economy / Economics / Re: New business idea. on: November 06, 2023, 01:14:12 PM
Well no doubt that there is demand for graundnut oil in Nigeria because it is really needed. But what makes the business more lucrative and profitable is what I can not really put my fingers on. It is not that their are additional delicacies that has been added to Nigerian meals to say that the demand is higher than what it was before except that probably the population of Nigeria has increased and that could be proportional to it use.

Having said that, I think the other reason I can adduce to it profitability is probably the high inflation level in the country that has also caused multiple increase in price of goods. So the profit margin for business people is really high because there is no price control mechanism making any business person to sell with whatever price they so desire. The price of graundnut oil and palm oil have really skyrocketted.
1309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: November 06, 2023, 12:32:19 PM

And for the rest of the actual risk takers, they wouldn't mind but to continue and if they lose, they lose no matter what happens and no regret on it.

Yes I know of some gamblers who don't like using the cash out mode, they prefer to take the full risk and bear whatever consequences that comes out of it. They say they are okay with losing all and if they win the full potential they are also happy.

There are different reasons that make some not to use cash out. They have had situations where they used the cash out in fear that the game will eventually go against them but it finally happened that the games were all successful whilst they had already jumped out with meagre amount and losing the bulk of the potential winning. I feel the pulse of those who argue with presenting such experience with the point of eventually winning.

They say afterall they were the one who predicted the games and that they would allow it to finish out. Moreover, another argument from such gamblers is that before the introduction of cash out, that they have been winning so why chicken out but for me, I believe cash out is very useful for gamblers and since its introduction, more people have tasted winning even if not the potential winning amount.
1310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys believe in other people luck and try to copy them? on: November 06, 2023, 08:38:54 AM

Do you change already your destiny by doing it? I’d rather bet on a lotto rather than copy someone bet because it will give me much better profit potential in case my extreme luck hit me.

I really don’t want to copy someone suicide bet because that is their own entertainment pick which doesn’t give me the same excitement since I’m not the one who pick it. I understand what you are trying to achieve since I’m lazy sometimes but I’m not a big believer of this kind high multiplier bets.

It depends on what op is betting for. Betting has the primary purpose of winning and profiting to multiply your staked money and I think that would be the focus of multiple bets, if op was betting specifically for entertainment then he would only bet few games and watch them for his entertainment.

So what are you betting for? Do you bet to be entertained alone or you bet to get some profit along side. If you are betting for profit which I believe majority of gamblers and addict do then entertainment is out of it including watching the games becomes in consequential.
1311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys believe in other people luck and try to copy them? on: November 06, 2023, 05:39:17 AM
Well Op, if you want to copy multiple games or bet with such high odd and bet, you are probably reducing your winning chances because I believe most people who win bet especially soccer bet make a bet of few picks and boost it with increased staking power. The reason that bettors do such high odd is greed and at the end they keep losing.

Or how often have you been winning in such multiple bets and odds?

I prefer few odds because the chances to win is higher than multiple bets.

I think copying bets from other players is a bad idea

It is not totally bad to copy people's bet. In the case you are talking about, some one who has been seen as a consistent winner, other bettors like to follow his bet and he also could be hidding his bet from others. I have witnessed this kind of stuff in an offline gambling house.
1312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tricky situation for Altcoin investment on: November 05, 2023, 08:46:34 PM

Because investing in altcoins requires time and a lot of flying hours, without extensive knowledge about altcoins you will experience losses. The point is to be patient, disciplined and money management because altcoins are difficult to recover, many people who buy altcoins experience losses. .

The point about altcoins is not even about having patient because if it is a shit coin then the patience is in vain. Bitcoin is the one that such patience is worth it but for altcoins that you are not sure to recover then being patient will be fruitless. Many investors like buying cheap coins and at the end they hardly recover what amount they invested after patience. If at all there is going to be recovery for top altcoins, there recovery speed is not same as btc.
1313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tricky situation for Altcoin investment on: November 05, 2023, 06:20:49 PM
have seen newbies regretting not buying btc earlier at a lower price and are now finding for newly launched altcoins that could potentially be the next btc or even better than btc

they need to understand that a lot of these projects don’t reach the value they expect and that these new altcoins can’t just surpass btc like that in a snap

Although no altcoins has gone pass the price of bitcoin and I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon. But if you invest rightly on altcoins you might ripe the benefit bountifully especially this season that halving is expected.

There are top altcoins that increase in price just almost as bitcoin is increasing, this has happened last halving and will happen again this time only for an investor to identify those good for long and short time hodl. What may be dangerous is to keep hodling an altcoins that has no utility because as soon as bull season is over, they won't recover again. However bitcoin still remains the best crypto investment because it keeps appreciating in value beyond the previous ATH.
1314  Economy / Speculation / Re: What did you think will happen to Bitcoin before January? on: November 05, 2023, 04:45:28 PM
Well I think most people may as well be thinking that January will have a drop in price maybe because of the expectation of less rush for acquisition as the traditional system of bitcoin but that will depend on the December volatility. From my analysis, if the price of bitcoin is really high then we may see a slight correction in January but again it may just beat all prediction and speculation. Also, this season may also be different because it is halving year.
1315  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Politics and interest on: November 05, 2023, 03:50:50 PM
Most countries in the UN actually have voted for a ceasefire politics is complicated it might be devastating to reduce a war that’s been taking lives day after day to politics but this is what this is some countries don’t care who initiated it first or who’s in the right/wrong at the end of the day a country will support a country they’ve formed alliances with because there’s something they can gain from it

Unfortunately, US have not told Benjamin Netanyahu to seize fire perhaps that is what will begin the seize fire. Yesterday, United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken didn't drop any of such words rather to sympathize with the people killed, families injured and refugees. He more or less supported isreal chase for where the Gaza weapons are which is the reason Israel kept bumping civilian hide outs including hospitals, schools, ambulance etc. From the look of things, a seize fire is not around the corner for now except something changed.
1316  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You want to See a Corralón Type Economic Measure in Your Country? on: November 05, 2023, 03:28:30 PM
Quote
Corralón was the informal name for the economic measures taken in Argentina at the beginning of 2002 by President Eduardo Duhalde during a bank run in which deposits and debt in dollars were exchanged to local currency at 1.4 per dollar for deposits and 1.0 for debt (this was also called pesificación asimétrica). Previously, the withdrawal of dollars was limited to $250 per week. After the forced exchanged, people no longer had any dollars on the system and those who had savings in US dollars lost 65% of their deposited value.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corral%C3%B3n
What are your thoughts on the quote above if your government implemented such economic measures? One thing is certain: those in debt would likely benefit, especially in times of economic hardship.

This is surely a corrective measure for countries that have been long dependent on US dollar to run their country. Countries who have stood with their local fiat currency have not had it tough like those who depend on dollar so it is evident that such exchange is a wake up call to all those countries making use of the dollar for exchange and transaction.

If an economic is jettisoning their local currency then they are only causing their fiat to be depreciating in value while the dependent currency keep appreciating because before you transact or exchange in import or export you then need to convert first and moreover, investors and politicians would prefer to hodl and hord the foreign currency and causing it to be scarce and that will push it exchange for local currency higher.
1317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting online courses? on: November 05, 2023, 02:51:10 PM
I just came across another topic about how to start betting on sports, and as I was reading and researching, I came across something that suggests considering taking online courses on sports betting

I have not heard of something like that and even if it exist, what is the possibility that after such course there is a guarantee winning? Winning is what is important in gambling and not all the magic of going through courses for gambling. I can only consider the appropriateness of casino owners going through such course on how to build their casino and organize it in the way that the odds will favour them and they will have edge against gamblers but to have a course teaching gamblers of secret to win (if there is any), I will wait to see more prove to that .
1318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Difference between crypto gamblers - regular gamblers on: November 05, 2023, 12:59:17 PM

Regular gamblers or the traditional one prefer more to gamble on casinos and they don't care that much about their security as you can still have your privacy on a casinos.

Regular gamblers really bother on the privacy because they jump in and out and that probably would not require KYC maybe because they don't win which will get them to verify their KYC for withdrawal. So this is the reason they may not submit their KYC but for a  crypto gambler who is consistent in profit would provide KYC for withdrawal and so they are careful about the casino they choose to play in. This is the difference therefore, if you are not getting winning from a casino then you may not be required to verify your KYC since you are not withdrawing.
1319  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump make world peaceful place on: November 05, 2023, 06:23:17 AM
I think he would have done things differently if he was in power whilst these new wars were brewing. I believe during his tenure he didn't start any new war and probably he would have discouraged these on going wars. Trump looks more humanitarian despite being a republican, he dialogue more than going to war. His policies didn't bring inflation to the world in general and if he is speaking the way he is speaking now, he probably have seen things not going well.
1320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to start betting on sports? on: November 05, 2023, 05:12:04 AM
You have to start by knowing the particular sports you want, but this does not guarantee a winning for you, sports betting is a little bit difficult but giving it a try is not bad, if I may ask I don't see any skill in betting, the skill you think you have got, so person have it before you come to know about sports but they have been very unsuccessful, so this is why I feel that luck plays a major game in gambling in general, what you do it work for you might not work in the exact way, so no matter what you you think, what you call skill in betting to me is luck, the prediction you make is not sure, no matter what you know about a team, they will lose, if it is their day to lose. Don't be too sure, so that you won't be disappointed at the end of the game.

You are right no game is sure for winning but it just has high probability to win not that it is certain. Also coming to the sports or casino game we choose to bet on, they also depend on luck and no certainty for winning which is why we need to guide ourselves on how much we want to stake on our game. Some gamblers who complain today on losing so much money are those who have thrown caution away thinking they could just bet huge so that they can also win huge but it doesn't get easy that way. Betting as you can afford to lose gives you a relaxed mind of whatever the outcome will be because at all times the house edge is always going to have the bulk of the winning, that is only few gamblers will win their bets but majority will lose, play wisely.
