1581  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Crypto Regulation in Nigeria. What is your Opinion? on: October 08, 2023, 03:24:01 PM
Would anything change from the point of crypto holders? Please share what you think.

For the level of guys wey dey hodl, trade abi sell btc, my brother nothing go change. The stuff go still dey as e dey especially for guys wey don tey for the game, I no mean newbie. I no go imagine say person go begin waka enter bank becos of btc or come begin use bank app on btc because if that policy happen bank go include btc on their app. E no go change anything, btc dey decentralized and no government fit come regulate the use like their fiat, no.

The thing wey Nigerian government fit succeed do na to go dey regular binance and other exchange and get access to persin document but to go mainstream regulation on btc, Dem no get the mussel. Dem self na follow follow so until the West come up with their template, forget nothing new dey happen.

Except e go just be say e don dey legal status for Naija and all man fit boldly talk about am, trade am, go bank discuss am, link your bank account to exchanges but P2P still go dey flourish well because guys no go still send government.
1582  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2200 Rockets shot at Israel 40 killed. on: October 08, 2023, 02:05:20 PM

I truly wish there is anything that can be done to prevent the doom that is awaiting Palestine.... we are humans before anything else and human lives matters

The war has already started unfortunately and it is going to be worsened by third parties interest which are likely to be the rejuvenated version of Russia Ukraine war and all those interest connected thereto. Palestine will not be able to take up Israel but we know when there is war, different interest are come to play including selling of weapons. Humans are also full of interest unfortunately.
1583  Economy / Economics / Re: Marriage mean double your passive income, rental property mean double your passi on: October 08, 2023, 01:29:12 PM
Marrying for financial gain ignores the importance of love and companionship, which can lead to disappointment. Comparing marriage to home ownership simplifies their distinct values. For a more happy existence, it is critical to value real connections above money exploitation and to combine financial objectives with personal contentment.

But the realities of things happening to our faces is that growing up incidences have all changed now. There are contract marriages and they are all accepted as marriage. Marriage that was for death do part now has expiring dates set by both parties by consent, such marriage are either to achieve some financial goals and that goes to show how values have been eroded because of the chase of money. Some people don't value the happiness of being together but only what money can provide whether happiness or not. Money is good in marriage but it has to be balanced.
1584  Economy / Speculation / Re: Impact of bitcoin price speculations on individual bitcoin holding on: October 08, 2023, 01:00:03 PM

Many people still have their eyes closed and they are allowing all of those companies to buy a lot of bitcoin and still they refuse to take action, by the time they wake up to the fact that bitcoin is a great investment bitcoin could be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and be at the peak of the next bull run, and instead of simply accepting they failed to predict what this market will do and wait for their next chance, they will buy at that price and suffer incredible losses once the bear market appears.

It is usually the case that when the bull kicks up and gets to its peak, some people who don't have that mind for risk will begin to make regretful comments of not taking the opportunity of low price to invest. At the moment, some people are still waiting for the price to drop to $20,000, $15,000 and even far below, probably they are looking at btc historical move during the year before halving but things have changed so maybe what we could be seeing is the buttom for this year before halving. The price is still good to dive in but not a professional advise, DYOR.
1585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: October 08, 2023, 12:00:18 PM

Gambling as enjoyment is like any other game. You pay, play, and laugh if you lose. However, many regard it as their only chance to change things. Like trying to restore a damaged toy in hopes it would work one day. You see the issue? Toy remains broken.

If people can perceive gambling as an enjoyable pastime rather than a way out, maybe they wont put all their eggs in one basket, right?

It is better to have the mindset of playing , perhaps losing and laughing over it and by that gamblers will play as they can afford to laugh when they lose because you can only laugh and not cry if the amount you played is insignificant enough for you to regard it as something not worth bothering over.

However damaged toy can be restored but the issue is how long more will it last. In order words, gamblers have the chance to restore when they win maybe to invest in some other areas of their lives to attract revenue but because of greed, to throw the chance away by either doubling their stake aiming for a jackpot that never comes.
1586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 08, 2023, 11:22:28 AM

You can get out of it if you want but I think it will be hard for you in old age. In my opinion, those who are attached to it from a young age may never come out of it in old age. Because it is a means of enjoyment as well as a means of earning money.

If someone started gambling at young age, it doesn't mean that they won't stop it. They would if they find reason to stop because nothing last forever and change is also constant.

I believe that most gamblers do gambling because they have no other financial means to survive whilst knowing that it is all about their luck. To hope on luck for financial resources is not sustainable and so if some gamblers have a sustainable income, they would leave gambling. Therefore, it means those who started gambling at young age can also leave, when they find better jobs, a greater percentage of gamblers engage in it because they lack finance or jobs.
1587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin (DOGE) Pumps 10% As Elon Musk Links Memecoin To X on: October 08, 2023, 10:10:13 AM
I think musk has started preparing dogecoin for the next bull run in 2024. He is about to make doge hodlers have some cool cash soon because he could continue this antics for those who want to take the opportunity for the ride. This is not the first time he is showing his love for dogecoin, couple of times this year the memecoin has gained some percentage in price. In 2021, he was instrumental to the rise of dogecoin to an ATH of $0.70 and that was a very big performance. So he may be repeating such run for his loved meme anytime soon.
1588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 08, 2023, 09:23:48 AM
I was not expecting the woman to cry because I knew that before the woman has been playing gamble for sometimes and provably she understood the our of gambling so for she crying as others said have said, I also believed that she was looking for Social Media support to increase her followers and financially. And since it will s a woman, some people might have sympathy and empathy to help her but l doubt.

More over the way she is looking or allowed her upper body to be revealed, she probably would be having a second agenda which could be attraction. People are easily attracted to what they see both man or woman, the flesh is attractive and most selling point these days is exposure. So most likely she is using that to get sympathy. I don't think she even revealed how much she lost at least that could be justifiable if it is huge stake and if that was revealed as big stake people around could also verify or debunk it on other publication.
1589  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is Forex same thing as betting on: October 07, 2023, 08:28:49 PM

Please give me some difference if you have.

E be like say that stop loss wey dem dey talk about dey important for forex and one of the difference wey dey between am and gambling. The market for forex no dey pass 5 working days but if na gambling that one na non stop especially for the people wey dey play online. Again nothing concern person wey dey trade with anything like decentralized or centralized exchange, so you get just little to worry about how secured your funds dey because dem regulate am Wella.
1590  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Up Move Incoming on: October 07, 2023, 08:04:20 PM
The situation is still uncertain but if the current momentum stays, will get high again back to $30k. Well, I haven't expected the strong support but the chart something shows us the reverse trend of the market after a few months of a declining sentiment. I know this is just speculation but I am positive that we are all in the rising sentiment until the year ends. Well, I guess the accumulation time is over as we are heading to bullish again before halving.

IMO I don't think nothing stops someone from accumulation through DCA even as it is looking like the price is getting ready for bull. In fact, it is the best time for accumulation at times like  this because it gives quicker return for the short time buyers.

That apart, the sentiment for the price is hanging on bull with the appreciation of last month and the continued steady ride up, the stronger hands have kept hodl and those who are short time investors also hodling in expectation for next year.
1591  Economy / Economics / Re: Marriage mean double your passive income, rental property mean double your passi on: October 07, 2023, 06:59:39 PM

So back to topic, is marriage, notably marry rich a sound advice today? Why having multple sugar daddy seem more appealing to me, one sugar daddy one passive income, two sugar daddy two passive income, 100 sugar daddy 100 passive income, simple maths! Btw I don't want to add crypto into the mix. I don't want to make consideration because it hardly existed more than ten years while marriage and rental has existed for thousands of years.

This looks like taking a swipe on the women folks but not sure if you are talking about the single ladies, the married or about to. But definitely the sugar daddy is for the women. Are you saying they are busy chasing after sugars and leaving crypto investment for the guys?  Grin

More seriously, having a fulfilled live in marriage depends on the financial inflow whether married or not. The woman who only wants to be rented and never contributes to the maintenance of the home is certainly not aware of the realities of the modern day living.
1592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They know the truth but they don't want to accept it, publicly on: October 07, 2023, 05:42:46 PM
I play for fun and I play to win but I keep in mind that I may lose money which is also totally fine with me. No one is being a hypocrite contrary to what you think. Money and the ideal of winning it is the motivation for us to play in casino. Now that we can cash out in Bitcoin, it is even a bigger motivation. We only stress the fun and entertainment part because we know how people get easily carried away and act all angry when they are on a losing streak. They get all angry and all those behaviors that shouldn't be showcased in the public space.

It is good that you point this out. You will see people who say they play for fun or entertainment but when they are losing out on the bet they will start cursing and regret why they played or selected the game in the first place.

People can pretend about this that they play for fun but surely they are not playing for just fun. Why playing with money if you want only fun, there is no goodwill in throwing away money.
1593  Economy / Economics / Re: The Role of Education in Financial Literacy on: October 07, 2023, 01:55:00 PM
I agree with your words.  Education makes people better.  Education improves human knowledge.  The more educated a person is, the better he can explore any subject, the better he can analyze data.  People's understanding of bitcoin will be better by being educated about economics.  The age is now modern we all should keep pace with the age.  People who are educated about economics will definitely perform very well in bitcoin forum.  And his performance will be better than that of an ignorant person.  But we cannot deny that no one can prosper without being educated about economics, certainly has.

Given that education is important but it is not really about the forum but how to manage the financial capacity with your education. Education and finance is really about investment and the understanding that you need to grow your finance for the future so you are established and live a worthy and relaxed life all through your time on earth plus leaving a financial legacy for your children, family and the less privileged. It is someone who has good financial planning that can achieve that by having the right kind of financial education to diversify income into different areas to have increased revenue.

Having only one source of income does not show an individual has a financial education for multiplication and so it is important to grow wealth, like it was Benjamin Franklin who said, "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail".
Quote
It was Benjamin Franklin who said “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” What he meant was that basically success doesn't happen by accident. It takes planning, knowing where you are heading and how you will get there. If you fail to do this you may stumble upon a win here or there, but the ultimate success won't be in that stumble.

1594  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture vs oil on: October 07, 2023, 11:41:03 AM
Oil is still regarded as the highest revenue source above agriculture and since it is higher in ROI, proceed excess from it can be used in the purchase of agricultural products or exchange of it.

Apart from United Arab Emirates (UAE) , Nigeria is one other oil producing country that has depended on this natural resources to sustain her skeletal development. Although Nigeria has well enough landmass for agriculture but unfortunately the government concentrate more on quick and fast resources that guarantee huge money for her projects, evident that oil has more financial potential than agriculture.
1595  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which does good leadership depends more on? Age, experience or education? on: October 07, 2023, 08:16:52 AM
Going with your question op, I think there is a factor you didn't mention and it surpass all those three you have mentioned and that is wisdom. All those you have mentioned are summed up into wisdom.

If a leader has wisdom then fear of doing the wrong things against the right things will envelope him. Take for example in the bible, Solomon asked for wisdom to lead Israelites and God granted it to him. Can you imagine the wisdom of King Solomon in the biblical story of the judgement of two women claiming to be the mother of a baby boy, 1kings 3: 16-18. It is wisdom to suggest that kind of judgement that the baby to be splitted into two halfs to be given to each of the women for peace to reign, and it was easy for the woman who is not the mother to accept such judgement because she was envious of the the mother, like if I can't have the baby then she shouldn't but the real mother couldn't behold her baby dying not to talk of splitting and the reai mother was known by such a wisdom.

So above all whether good education, age, experience or whatever have you, wisdom against wrong is paramount in sincere leadership and African leaders are beclouded by politics of selfishness. Even when they finally select themselves into the dreaded office, they still move around with nepotism, religious affiliations and inclination, that leads to self centeredness, embezzlement with impunity because of the nepotistic leadership and government, no punishment or justice for political thieves and that is why they are usually found guilt when they leave the shores of Africa.
1596  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why E Go Be Prayer? on: October 06, 2023, 05:53:47 PM
The prayer thing dey unfortunate for the country. Government dey leave substance go chase shadow. Where corruption dey swim na so dem go dey ask for prayer to deceive themselves. We know some of our governor wey dem prosecute for abroad, Ike ekweremadu and now Diezani Alison Madueke go join. The country corrupt that's why court for here no dey fit prosecute people wey thief because na man no man system It is a pity say we dey talk of praying for government wey suppose to dey heal the nation.
1597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lottery with a twist on: October 06, 2023, 04:40:40 PM

When we choose the random winners, should it be distributed equally, or we put randomness on the winnings too? What would users prefer?

This is more like entry for the lottery is randomly selected which amount to lesser numbers of players from the original pool of those who signed up. Also for winners or those successful, the reward is yet going to be shared by random if I get the mechanics correctly?

So for me regards to those selected for rewards, I believe there should be a lucky deep for them assuming they have to be physically present but if online, there should be another mechanics that could get them involved like another number selection on variables available like first, 2nd , third etc, I think that would create addiction excitement rather than a monotonous contract random selection.
1598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's safe to say - gambling is a guy thing. on: October 06, 2023, 03:33:21 PM
yes i can say  its more of a guy thing. one of the reasons why i think its so is because of the financially responsibilities that the men do shoulder and also that men always want to earn more so its pretty easy as a guy to get involved and also if you have friends that are into it then it will be more easier.
Following that logic, men should be less prone to gambling, since they are more focused on financial responsabilities and can't give themselves the luxury of spending money with gambling, which doesn't guarantee any financial returns in counterpart... It seems men are into gambling for another reasons: maybe because they have a higher necessity for thrill than women and to escape from the stress of daily life which involves those responsabilities you mentioned above. Gambling for men is a moment they can finally stop caring about their burdens and having an ephemeral pleasure moment.

I see your reason @ uneng especially if we are to weigh the winning rates of those men who gamble and we see the number is actually small and that could mean that the argument of taking care of the family or family financial responsibility is really not strong. Even where some men feel they are gambling to meet up with the financial needs of their homes, how far have they been successful in winning yet their family is still surviving. The valid point is while gambling, it also affords the man the opportunity to ease off from the distractions and challenge in the home especially when it is offline, the man use the opportunity to hangout and get some fresh air from the environment.
1599  Economy / Economics / Re: I am forgetting the value of money. on: October 06, 2023, 02:01:14 PM

What can I do to remember the importance of money and spend more carefully?

Quote
I used to carefully save every cent and think twice before spending just $1. However, now I find myself spending more without a second thought.

That is the answer to your question.

Nothing is permanent in life and that is why they say the only thing that is constant is change. So you have moved from the other side to another side where you can spend without gnashing of teeth, your needs are now well taken care of, to sustain it you have to reduce spending frivolously and channel spare or unused or needed money into investment. Try to diversify your source of income and by that you can still meet up with the kind of life you want to live, you can extend hands of gift without thinking twice.

So build a source of income outside from signature campaign earnings, remember nothing last forever but if you have sustainance outside the forum then you are good as building good economic growth for your self.

Unfortunately, government still has to be blamed for not providing the less privileged with good life but to turn them into beggars and leaving them on the mercy of themselves. It is the struck of luck and working smart that you are able to live the life you are living.
1600  Other / Politics & Society / Re: We Don't Really Know What's Happening on: October 06, 2023, 01:22:16 PM
Some times some people refer government as a confraternity that you never know the truth about what is happening there but to be left guessing of the true position of things after their state house reporters have gauged out what they were told by a higher level information reportage from the personal assistance(s).

The people only know what they want them to know either for some basic reasons like security and welfare of the country. As imagined, the reasons for keeping out some secrets from the public is for the continuity of government and governance, national stability and perceived peace. We actually can not know what is happening because the truth is far from us.
