2061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: August 30, 2023, 04:28:37 PM
<snip>
I think the first driving factor is being disciplined, taking a firm decision and standing by it. I've actually read through some responses and I saw something like cutting off internet connection, blocking gambling sites on phones/laptops and all that. This might actually work or just a temporary solution. Why? Because we've friends, brothers, colleagues and coworkers that are into gambling and sometimes they tell us about their winnings and we might be tempted. I have been there, though I wouldn't call myself an addict. At work your colleagues talks about their winnings, at home your siblings or friends do the same thing. If you're not disciplined enough, you might find yourself going back to your old habit.

Some friends keep bringing you back to gambling even when you decide to just be a passerby after losing your life savings  Grin

Leaving gambling is not just what can happen overnight, you need effort to make a personal decision on it to stop and stop for real, some people after stopping they will still go back to it because they lack the discipline. It is discipline that will make you even when you have gambling app on your phone, you won't open it. So it is not about keeping your phones or laptop off internet but a discipline heart to go pass those contemplation to play.
2062  Economy / Economics / Re: Another Coup in Africa: What is the economic effect? on: August 30, 2023, 03:02:14 PM
I read a headline on the internet referring to Ali Bongo Ondimba as Gabon life president. Ali bongo has been the third president of Gabon since they were independent in 1960 and he came to office in 2009 which means he has been in office for 14 years while they are in a democratic government. Seat tight syndrome is one factor affecting the African governance system and until a democratic government becomes democratic indeed then this revolution that is gradually sweeping the shores of the west African will not abate.

Apart from the natural resources in situ in Africa soil, the leadership is very much rotten and that is why they allow neocolonialism in their midst. It is unfortunate or fortunate that all the countries that have witnessed these coups, the people are in support of the military which is a signal that the people don't feel the presence of the government because they are not those genuinely elected but were forced in or rigged their way in.
2063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Constant wins in the casino for several days, then constant losses. Noticed?! on: August 30, 2023, 02:17:56 PM
I think those are coincidence. It is the mind and emotion that brings such calculation. Except we are saying that the games are manipulated to allow players win continuously so as to encourage the gambler to play more or maybe do a huge bet after which the casino starts winning the money back from the losses of the gambler. But I still believe that those days that I win that it was my luck and if I start to lose, it all my luck. What I have to do is to decide to continue or not at the days I begin to lose.
2064  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Another Coup on: August 30, 2023, 12:15:42 PM

My question now is, do you think military regime is better and should be the way forward?

This is my simple response. If the civilian government or democratic government have become a pain in the flesh of the people the why not stay in military regime.

Many African government are corrupt and will rig and force themselves into power. So if they are forcing themselves into power without the will of the people being allowed then it is as good as military rule. African leadership is corrupt and they won't allow for free and fair election but to manipulate themselves into power. Like in Nigeria, the presidential election conducted on 25th of February is still in tribunal court , so the legimacy of the present government in Nigeria is still in question in court.
2065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Slot Streamers on: August 30, 2023, 10:24:01 AM
Bad thing for highly greedy players because they end up believing that they will make huge profits as well, but only end up in gambling addiction and ruin their money and wealth.

Streamers in gambling are like commentators who are outside from where a game is played but hyping the game for others to come watch the outcome. Like we know that is the way they are seen with the heavy bet that they stake which is mostly to lure players to the site. Casinos are always in competition so streaming is an avenue to show what they can offer to new sign ups, bonuses that you get if you signed up and other marketing strategy will be displayed not only the winning alone, it is more like marketing strategy for casinos.
2066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: August 30, 2023, 09:08:17 AM

That's how it is in gambling, we see victory getting closer but difficult to achieve, so without realizing it we run far to chase losses. And this is where it's important to continue playing calmly, don't get carried away by emotions. And I always hate playing alone because I can't be completely sure if I am able to control gambling activities, therefore I always ask other people to accompany me to play in the hope that someone will enlighten me when I lose control while playing gambling.

You simply don't believe in yourself that is why you would want to go with someone to the casino and share your bet with them to get approval of the bet you want to play. It is not bad to share your game from time to time but to always do that with the way you have said it, it means you are not a regular bettor. This is unlike those who like to keep their game secret from others, those gamblers believe they have the magic game and so won't like every other person to partake from the bet. Anyway, it is just the way we feel best and anything that is best for the winning is acceptable.
2067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto betting on: August 30, 2023, 06:55:16 AM

I already know stake and am really very satisfied. Can you name bookies that act in a similarly serious and uncomplicated manner?

Why looking for crypto bookies when you already confirmed you are cool with stake? You have not mentioned something extra ordinary that you are looking for. Stake is one of the best in casino in the modern day gaming arena with both bitcoin and altcoins options. It covers an area of sports betting and casino games. If you have found a casino that gives you what you want then it is better to stick with it because you are sure of getting your winning when you have one

2068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: China crackdown against gambling streaming on: August 30, 2023, 05:14:47 AM
China is such a pain in the ass. They are fighting anything that's fun for the people. I think it is because China don't want their citizens to have fun. The Chinese gov wants the citizens to work like a robot and do nothing else. Eat, drink, work and sleep. That's it. (shit and pee too) Trading crypto? Nope. Watch gambling? Nope. Getting drunk? Nope, you will have a bad social credit score. How can anybody live under a regime like that? It is crazy. I drink whenever I want, fuck whenever I want and I gamble whenever I want. Fuck China.

Like in 2017 when they announced the ban on trading of crypto, ico and crypto related transactions. China has been in the news as one of the most hater of bitcoin related transactions because they want their people not to promote it, I guess they are capitalizing on their population to believe some of those restrictions would affect the global influence of bitcoin.

Now the ban of gambling streaming. This will not affect the gambling population because they can still access casino ads and play in their favourite casino since there is no ban yet on the gambling itself and in any case where that is done, VPN will still be used on some casinos. The Chinese government is only depriving their citizens the benefit of freedom of choice.
2069  Economy / Economics / Re: Is market manipulation a common occurrence everywhere? on: August 29, 2023, 09:31:14 PM

So, in your opinion, can everything related to money in this world be manipulated? For instance, do you believe that the value of the USD or the largest stock market in the US can be manipulated by a few individuals?

In business, economy or money, manipulation is part of it. Manipulation is like the oil in the business I believe, because sometimes the market can only move with manipulation. It causes a spontaneous and unplanned decision either to invest hugely or to run out with your investment but whichever it goes the manipulator would have benefited. Like in cryptocurrency, someone can shake the market by dumping or buying hugely and cause panic. Sometimes when government print currency, that could be for some artificial purpose for a greater goin to the manipulator.

What kind of people are capable of market manipulation?

An individual, institution or government. The government can purchase in large quantity some stock they want to appreciate and that will cause people to start investing in it.
2070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How late is too late to place a bet for a gambler? on: August 29, 2023, 08:37:55 PM

Besides all this reasons for betting late, I do believe some betting platforms have late options to place last minute bet, as well as odds do change prior to the end of the game.

Some bettors are fond of such late betting because they want to see all the late decisions of the team on the match. Good thing is that they have introduced some options that will allow you bet that way with a reduced odd but they doesn't stop players who want such timing, they boost the odd with staking power.

I don't really like late betting because the odds reduce and I like playing with the odds when it is high as it will increase the potential and you also have lesser number game of games to bet unlike when you bet game whose odd has been reduced, because you tend to add more games and you are likely to lose.
2071  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad economic situation makes bitcoins more difficult to keep. on: August 29, 2023, 04:58:22 PM

"We all want to make a profit" But the problem is that not all can HODL long enough to make it happen but these people can try trading instead or short-term investing by starting to buy at the dip. If we badly need a money but we are still at a loss if ever we will sell our Bitcoin's, it's better to think of other ways first to have a money.

Thinking of other thing to do is not about trading your bitcoin because that is a very risky thing to do. Trading is not to be advised because it is difficult and you can lose all your coins. It is better with hodling it or you sell it if that is the only asset you have to safe yourself from financial challenge.

Maybe we can sell the item that we rarely use? Or we can also take a loan? But if only we learn how to budget and save up and maybe add another lite job to earn an extra income, we won't end up like that. We should not put the blame on the bad economy or on how our government runs it. The problem is only us.

The problem is not on the people but bad government. If government provide good economic incentives to do business then people will be glad to struggle in business. Incentives like soft loan or interest free loan with very low repayment percentage then businesses will fluorish. If government policies reduce taxing on small business (SME) and encourage farming by supplying fertilizers, crops the economy will improve because it will add to the GDP.
2072  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Has anybode suggested the idea of "crypto-communes"? on: August 29, 2023, 04:35:26 PM
Such system of democracy contribution has gone. What happens if one of the community members disappear with the coins by selling off? This is possible with the modern world and corruption plus distrust. No body does that kind of collaboration again with a decentralized system where everyone is safeguarding their privacy. Contributions for a central purpose or purse is known with fiat and it is fast disappearing, it is not known in a decentralized system.
2073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Glitches still affects online casinos? Or it's the casinos that sucks on: August 29, 2023, 02:33:58 PM

There are factors that affects glitches like your own personal device, it's expected to play casino games not on it's full potential if you are playing on a vintage or outdate device and I think it will be your fault you it happened that you are the only one who experienced that kind of glitch.

If you are talking about the phone, it could be referred to as network challenge or poor network and I don't think that could be called a glitch or if your phone is malfunctioning that it could be called a glitch. But in any case that the error is from your part maybe because of bad phone that you lost your bet then the casino is exonerated from the blame. If you experience the problem alone it means the individual has the fault but if it is general then casino experienced the glitch and is liable to the fault .
2074  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The awareness of Bitcoin is spreading from the internet to the society. on: August 29, 2023, 01:57:52 PM
That thing wey make Naija government begin create their own CBDC means say no be news on bitcoin matter. Local television stations dey call experts dey come talk bitcoin and cryptocurrency market and that means even the people wey no dey online dey hear about am. Naija na the most active population here, for binance and globally you no fit talk bitcoin users make you leave out Naija. So this means say we dey everywhere dey follow bumper to bumper even social media self but make we dey careful not to expose our self to scam because yahoo guys dem also dey use bitcoin investment scam people.
2075  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin investment can reduce inflation for our country naija on: August 29, 2023, 01:06:52 PM
If we dey talk about bitcoin and helping inflation, I dey wonder how e dey relate and that investment aspect too na individual e suppose help because say e go make you see something to sustain yourself if e go well oo, so some how individual fit run leave poverty when your investment go well. If naija government go invest on bitcoin say make e for help reduce inflation, how?

If dem want reduce inflation make dem do the right thing by fixing the economy. No be bitcoin carry inflation come and no be im go reduce am. Na bad leadership bring high inflation and na good leadership go reduce am by proper planning wey go increase export, increase GDP, increase external reserve etc .
2076  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Do You Think Military Intervention Is Needed In Republic? on: August 29, 2023, 09:43:51 AM
I for sae my ECOWAS use military intervention for Niger Republic but as the matter d so, em be like Niger Republic d much prepare and ready to withstand the ECOWAS military intervention against them.

Dem know say men dey their back na. Dem sabi say if anything happen na third world war be that so if ECOWAS want try make dem come. We know say dem get support for even West Africa, countries like Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea and more don declare support for dem unto say dem too na military regime dey in place. We also know how e dey go for Western countries because dem get eyes for the matter and the two blocs dey follow each other up, NATO and BRICS. Russia want to break NATO supremacy and so all these West Africa countries wey dey under military regime don dey eat with BRICS. So despite the support of America and NATO for ECOWAS, I no think say Dem fit go fight Niger republic except dem want third world war to start from West Africa.

No where dey easy, so if you find yourself here, learn, work and grow.
2078  Economy / Gambling / Re: No bet is a waste on: August 28, 2023, 02:49:56 PM

Let's not be fooled by the glitz and glamour of the new, particularly if there are strings attached. Initially, it may sound alluring, but in the end? You will undoubtedly fall short. Consider the past, comprehend the game, and make your move

If it sounds so good to be through then you have to be careful and check if you will see something that will give you the sign. I do have this believe that every business including casino is established for profit purpose and if you start seeing so much ground breaking bonuses then you need to start sniffing if you could find something. Moreover I also do a review of the casino regards to withdrawal because if you can't withdraw after winning then you just wasted your money.
2079  Economy / Economics / Re: No choice but to use the unavoidable middle man, the exchange companies. on: August 28, 2023, 01:48:54 PM

Honestly, I have more numbers of trades using a middleman than using a peer-to-peer I'm sure all of us here third parties will always be with us, we are so used to it, It applies in many industries it applies in Cryptocurrency.

With this can we now say that bitcoin is not performing the original privacy goal or that it is the human factor that is frustrating it because like you pointed out, third party services in bitcoin is really growing bigger apart from the exchanges, people have taken up this like the brokers and they stand in the middle to execute the transaction like the escrow service. I think the P2P service is not really getting that attention because of trust.
2080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: August 28, 2023, 01:26:12 PM

I might add up some micro loan for this bet if I will experience this kind of golden opportunity. I knew this bet is only possible with fixed match but there’s no really a 100% can’t lose bet even on fixed match since there’s a chance that the match will be caught as fixed match and your bets will be confiscated for being involved.

I don't think adding a micro loan for such bet is reasonable. Taking a loan is like a leverage and that is risky, it is better to bet base on your capacity and not relying on what additional loan for it. Worse of it is that there is no guarantee that you will have the winning so why thinking of adding loan, some match are fixed which could be discovered. Like the example you gave, some times you see matches stopped on the way or suspended if the organizer believe there is fixing on it, so in such case you either lose your bet money or it is returned to you.
