Why do you think the general public cares about what's in the whitepaper? I'm genuinely curious. Seems like its just a talking point without substance or relevance. If for no other reason, because the experiment as satoshi originally envisioned it is worth carrying to logical conclusion. Look at it from this angle for a moment: Satoshi's original invention, aligning the best interests of the individual with the best interests of the system as a whole, unleashed this entire ecosystem. In the design of Bitcoin, he/she/they accomplished what all of humanity had previously been unable to do. I really don't have a strong aversion to carrying out multiple parallel experiments (that may be an egregious simplification, but the difference is nuanced and inappropriate for the scope of this reply). But should we not carry out the experiment as set forth in the design that led to this entire 'Cambrian Explosion' (there's an overused term) of innovation? From my perspective, abandoning the experiment as envisioned by its progenitor is pure folly. Its quickly abandoning itself. We already have a bitcoin, its called bitcoin, and its doing just fine. No. Satoshi's Bitcoin did not include the abomination we call SegWit. |

First thing imgur does upon upload, IIRC, is blow away any provided exif data. Is that a fact? Never uploaded anything on here because I was too lazy to bother with exif. I don't know whether it is a fact, but that is what imgur claims. And I've never seen such be credibly disputed. |

I don't know where you got that 30 years figure to begin with. Each count carries a max of 20 years. Less than max is not unusual for first and/or less-egregious offenders. While the judge can ignore what the prosecution and the defense are arguing for, and impose anywhere between nothing and max, the typical would be that sentencing is somewhere between these two advocated positions. |

I just checked my pro.coinbase.com limits. No change. Still... large. On the upper right pulldown, there should be a link to the 'Limits' page. On that page is a link: "To be considered for higher withdrawal limits, please request to increase limits." While that takes you to a form specifically for withdrawal limits, it has a free-text box where you could conceivably clarify your request. Might be a quicker route than support@coinbase.com. |

Buck up, bucko - or get lapped by those willing to put in the work. I dated a girl for a number of years. Her father was wealthy and powerful. He owned 25+ houses that he rented out. He was also a drunk and highly abusive. The mother eventually divorced him after a series of domestic violence incidents. The father decided to make the mother's life a living hell. He hired lawyers to sue the mother for everything under the sun, stalked the mother and tried to destroy her friendship networks. This went on for five years. The mother grew deeply depressed and semi suicidal. My girlfriend and her sister at the age of 8 had to get the mother out of bed in the morning, get her dressed so the mother could drive them to school. Some days they couldn't get their mother out of bed so they missed school. My girlfriend was incredibly smart and motivated but she missed a lot of school during that five year period. It affected her grades and she had to work hard to try to catch up. She also had the mental load of trying to parent her own mother through the divorce and aftermath. There is no doubt in my mind if she had had a normal, stable childhood, she would have been a surgeon or rocket scientist. Instead she will likely never achieve her full potential. Let's not kid ourselves that everyone has equality of opportunity. Because they don't. Relevance of anecdote?
