2081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies are sirens luring you to a journey of no return on: May 09, 2017, 11:33:02 AM
Da Tou is certainly not alone, the cryptocurrency world is so complicated one cannot beat their chest and say this is where they are and that is where they going. I think it has to do with the fact the technology is quite diversed and still evolving with many laying claims to it only from their point of interest .
2082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will bitcoin activate segwit as litecoin price peaks at 30USD? on: May 09, 2017, 10:44:29 AM
I believe segwit activation on litecoin is to test the network as a whole. If everything goes right, I am sure bitcoin will be the next coin to activate segwit. However, I feel that litecoin price increase is not just because of the segwit, rather for the increase in trading volumes and market cap. This price is hollow and soon will go down to an optimum level.

But I have no doubt that if Segwit is activated in bitcoin, the price will increase to the next level. So an an investors of bitcoin, I hope to see the positive news coming in soon.
We have to see that this surge in the price of Litecoin for exactly what it is and it is the proponents of segwit pulling strings by pumping Litecoin, so to make a case that segwit is the proven way Bitcoin should also follow.. These increases in price are too sudden and we should expect a reversal sooner than later, because the whole idea is to pass a message across for segwit.
2083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is not Ideal, it represents possibilities. on: May 07, 2017, 07:47:19 PM
The world is going towards IoTs (internet of things). Everything will be connected in future. The missing part is money. Although online bank transactions and credit card payments contribute to the online concept, but still there is a need of a strong cryptocurrency to become a Pivot point in IoTs. So far, Bitcoin is a strong candidate, but I agree there are a lot of problems regarding the security of something which is online... Special protocols are required to safeguard Bitcoins from adversaries.

Most money is already digital so I don’t think bitcoin is that necessary at least from that point of view, bitcoin is a must because it gives back to people the right to print their own currency.
I don't think that most of the money is already digital because if so, then we don't need to use fiat anymore and we will just need an internet connection and smartphone but that's not what's happening right now because we still use physical money. Bitcoin is a must to use bitcoin of its security and possibilities to own a currency and have an investment at the same time.
I understand most countries are trying hard to turn their societies into cashless ones because of the many advantages inherent with digital money especially the reduction in the cost of printing, shipping and securing bank notes. Everything is certainly not going to be tied around the internet - your debit and credit cards for instance are digital form of money not restricted for use only on the internet.
2084  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitspark Launches Remittances to Nigeria at 14.4% better rate w/Bitcoin on: May 07, 2017, 09:34:56 AM
Nice to see another remittance company, doing business in Asia since 2014, picking up interest in Nigeria and its first presence in Africa. I have signed up to get acquainted with what they have to offer especially to confirm the claims of offering 14.4% better rate than the mid market FX! First I noticed there is no Nigerian physical presence on the site and the better rate isn't really a 14.4% less than what other companies are offering, but simply a 14.4% less than the mid market fx.

With my current remittance company, to remit N20,000 (twenty thousand naira,) I shall have to send 0.0344155BTC, whereas with your company, Bitspark, it comes down to 0.034BTC, if no other charges gets in the way. That is a difference of 1.12%, can't verify for buying Bitcoin with Naira, because ID verification is necessary. I want to suggest, you make the verification a one time thing, stored up in your database and request for it doesn't have to show up in every transaction.
2085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is not Ideal, it represents possibilities. on: May 06, 2017, 07:52:42 PM
Bitcoin network can not be hacked because it is decentralized, it will be difficult for hack it
but bitcoin will be dangerous if there are many super computers,
be used on every where or all of people use super computers on every activity related with internet
and we can be lost amount bitcoin if the other people know our private key.
There are measurements already taken to protect the security of our private Keys. I remember Theymos wrote on reddit like switching over to new algorithm based encryption in next 5 to 6 years. Actually Theymos made  this statement for the concern of Satohi's hoarding (believed Satohis had mined 1+ million coins).

So, super computer or quantum computation will not be threat as bitcoin will be switching over to new encryption well in advance itself.
The fear posed by super computers is unfounded as rising sea is sure to raise all boats, so encryption is sure not going to stay same, but will also advance inline with quantum computation.

One thing that needs to be cleared is that it is not Bitcoin per se that have been hacked so far in the exchanges, rather it was a break into their data base and it has been most in-house, just like anyone gaining access to your email address password can read and manipulate all your mails.
2086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi reveals himself, what would be of Bitcoin? on: May 06, 2017, 07:35:59 PM
Satoshi reveals himself - Bitcoin suffers.

I've always thought otherwise, like don't you think only Satoshi can solve the current debates about BTCBTCBTC's own future? Obviously the person would have the biggest weight on the issues

It may backfire heavily. Let's assume that he makes a public appearance, proves that he is a genuine Satoshi Nakamoto (i.e. does whatever that might require), and then proclaims openly his support for, say, Bitcoin Unlimited. Does it mean that the latter will necessarily succeed? I guess, no. And when this fork eventually fails (which I'm sure it will), Satoshi will certainly feel humiliated. As to me, he made a wise decision to disappear so as to allow his creation (i.e. Bitcoin) to evolve on its own

That can be the big reason why the name we call as Satoshi Nakamoto until now is not a part of the current and raging debate in the Bitcoin community. When he left Bitcoin, he left for good. Surfacing now can mean interference in the ongoing evolution of Bitcoin because whatever he says can have an impact on decision-making of many stakeholders.
I quite agree Satoshi left for good so Bitcoin could evolve on its own. Evidently it wasn't an afterthought as even the choice of the name Satoshi signifies his moves were premeditated. Can the creator of something anonymous not understand what anonymity is all about?
Quote
On the other hand, he could provide the much needed leadership of Bitcoin. But I am sure he has all the wisdom in this world that is why he preferred to be called absent in the continuing Bitcoin class lessons. Right now, there is a gaping vacuum of leadership in Bitcoin but that can be the way it should be according to the plans of Nakamoto...so be it!
I think he can do so by not directly stepping into the shoes of Satoshi Nakamoto, but assume another personality. Resurfacing as Satoshi I think would rather take Bitcoin backwards, because it already moved on without  him and lots more division is sure to ensue.
2087  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which one is better? Forex or crypto currency trading? on: May 06, 2017, 07:12:07 PM
For me, the better is cryptocurrency trading than forex. The reason is, the cryptocurreny trading has reach to far unlike forex is just starting. So because cryptocurrency is still alive until now it does mean that it is successful. So don't waste your time on forex let's go on crypto.
Whoa! Wondering if you have ever traded or understands what forex trade is really all about! I think you need to know that forex trade has been in existence from long ago and it is rather crypto trading that just got started. Everyday average of $5.3 Trillion Dollars is traded in the forex market and there is no other market that compares to it in volume, see for yourself:

2088  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: anyone interested in arbitrage between korea and china market on: May 06, 2017, 06:53:57 PM
Guys, does anybody know where could you export past prices for the biggest exchanges (and maybe not only for BTC)? I would need it for a research on arbitrage and self learning algos.
I doubt about the availability of such historic data but you can find one particular day's high and low information from charts. For example bitstamp is having chart and and you may manually extract prices for any days.
I am also working on how to exploit some arbitrage conditions in the crypto market and I suppose you will find this link useful. In case, you come across some other useful links, do also share here so other can see if it holds anything for them. Best of luck!

2089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most of the money on: May 06, 2017, 05:23:04 PM
Which game you played when you earned most of money?

Most of my winning came from Dice. It is not from playing Bitcoin but rather playing an altcoin and doing a martingale with force  stop in a 5 days.  I earned around 0.8 BTC total accumulation earning with a mere bankroll of 0.014 BTC amount of that altcoins.  The strategy is stopping every time I won on ater the 6th losing streak.  It does works for me that time, but I won't recommend that strategy since gambling is always random.
That was indeed some lucky runs for you and it is interesting to note you realized it is not fail proof and walked away with your windfall before the system gets used to your moves. By the way, I guess you were meaning to say your strategy is: preroll with minimum bet, after 6 losing streak, raise bet, after a win, return to pre-rolling until the condition is fulfilled again, not so?
2090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost over 12 btcs gambling on dice on: May 06, 2017, 04:11:06 PM
I wish he said which site ripped him off like that or which site made so much money of him, this sounds better.
I saw that in his last post he's asking about possible investment in XRP. He lost all Bitcoins and now wants to put his last money into a centralized altcoin. Hopeless! Cheesy
A fool and his money are soon parted, which show us that you should not only care about earning a big amount of money you should also learn how to keep it, I know many people that earn almost the double amount that I do but they are in a terrible financial situation because they have committed horrible mistakes.
You got me thinking that op was under the illusion that his balance of 12 Btc probably made him invincible or that it was an infinite amount, so he probably threw caution to the wind until the veil was off his eyes. 12 Btc is a huge amount and there are players that can certainly turn thing around with that much by prudently managing their games and it is indeed unfortunate he parted with that much.
2091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: why people use dice bot? on: May 06, 2017, 03:44:41 PM
Most of the people who uses a dice bot are using it to maintain a betting strategy.
But I just can not understand why do they do it, as all of the strategies will lead to a lose at the long run because the house has a rake over their users.

They do it because there is no other way.  Even if they do not maintain their strategy, they will lead to losing if they continue to gamble.  They use bot to make their betting easy for them.  Just setting up the  bot and leave it as is, and it will continue to bet according to your setup.  They can even leave it while running if they intend to use all their bankroll fund in playing.
Exactly but they dont even know that it is only a losing move .[1]if they can pass through on it the first time sure the second time the seed will be adjusted it is all running by a system .[2]If you want to win take time to do manually ,people want easy work and easy money .
[1] No, you must read how provably fair works. The site doesn't need to adjust their system to prevent for each of your strategy.
[2] There are a lot of people who lost because they were gamble by manually. Your winning chance doesn't increased even if you are betting by manually or through dice bot.
That is right, chance to win has absolutely nothing to do with whether a player is playing manually or on auto. What advantage I think manual betting can bring a player, is the ability to effectively follow the game and make adjustments when necessary or possibly quite the game when danger is sensed.

Most dice sites unfortunately structure their bots to make setting of stop loss less precise, often leading players to lose even more instead of stopping the game after a specific amount have been lost. Most players however find use for dice bot as it gives them some tools to be specific on what to follow after a loss or after a certain amount is lost.
2092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Seuntjie' Dice bot programmers mode discussion. on: May 06, 2017, 03:23:11 PM
Hello
Thanks again for all your help
I have one more question
Why when my chances are 49.50 when playing low it is ok but when changed to Hi it changes to 49.49??

That depends on the site you're playing on. it has to do with how some sites handles/parses the chance. You will see on rollin for example. you can set your chance to 49.5, but your actual chance will be 49 or 50, but not 49.5, because the site only allows integer chance.
Shouldn't one begin to see the only integer chance as an advantage to a player given that it sums everything in between? In the same vein, isn't it disadvantageous  to play in a site with 3 decimal places, given that the probability of losing is further increased? Take for instance, playing 1.02x bet on a site with 3 decimal places outcome, would entail exposure to almost 30,000 numbers against a player.
2093  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cloud mining/Investing or trading on localbitcoins? on: May 06, 2017, 02:50:26 PM
Cloudmining isnt profitable it will take you too long time to earn profit .
Investing and trading is advisable to double your money .you need only to wait and to learn to trade well so that in time you make profit how much you want not only in double.
Investing and trading do not assure you double income.it is prefer do not waste time on cloudmining things.while investing and trading through localbitcoin is too risky, people should not use it even if it has good reputation.
So what exactly is your recommendation as it concerns investing, trading and localbitcoin? If you say trading is risky and so should be avoided, then you need to think again, because nothing, nothing gain. Localbitcoin remains what highlights the very essence of Bitcoin - peer-to-peer transactions and it does not become risky even while dealing with strangers unless you want it to.
2094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: the easiest way to make a profit from gambling? on: May 06, 2017, 02:38:39 PM
hello, I would like to try my luck from gambling.

what kind of gambling that you think is easy to make a profit? and what strategies are you using?
I think the easiest way to get a profit in gambling is betting games or games. With the use or martingale strategy. It is because of doubling their bet in every lose so if win comes your capital will back with a profit.

Luck's are always their but experience is the best key for assuring of winning.

Martingale is the worst method to bet in, also any strategy is bound to fail in casino games because the strategies are based on mathematical assumptions which are not true in real life. In martingale it is infinite bankroll - which in not true - ironically if a person had infinite bankroll they would not gamble at all  Grin

Again luck is only factor which can help you in casino games. Experience may help in sports betting poker and all but definitely not in casino games.
No doubt Martingale strategy is most likely a dead end, especially in its crude form, but you need to know the reason they fail is not because they are mathematical assumptions, on the contrary they have every reason to be a success because numbers dont lie. One of the reasons Martingale fail is because the house is more capitalized than most players and not necessarily for not having infinite bankroll and there are some casinos that place maximum bet a player can play, thereby forcefully stopping the sequence of play, ultimately leading to a loss on the side of the player.
2095  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Other Bitcoin forum on: May 06, 2017, 01:36:53 PM
After knowing this forum I don't think that I will waste my time in looking for some other bitcoin forum as I am very much sure that it won't be as good as this forum as this is the best and trusted place to earn bitcoins which may not be possible with other forum.
I don't agree with your take that looking in other Bitcoin forum would be a waste of time, because the overall goal is the spread of the right knowledge and information about Bitcoin and they do not in any way stand in the way or height Bitcointalk have attend. It is evident from the contributions of most newbies that lots of people out there are not literate enough in Bitcoin and its technology and confining  ourselves here certainly won't do all the work.
2096  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Investments on: May 06, 2017, 12:56:42 PM
Right now, other than the occasional altcoin, it seems that holding Bitcoin is the best best investment for your Bitcoin.
Hold you BTC and you can probably make more than most investments, and holding is relatively safe.  Cool
Yeah. but only if you already have bitcoins. otherwise this term will not help you. because if you do not have bitcoin. buying bitcoin at this moment only for holding purpose may not worth. if the price is increasing now there is equal chance that the price may decrease too.
I quite agree with you, this isn't the right time for buying Bitcoin with the sole aim of holding, because Bitcoin  have made new highs recently and going by the nature of all financial assets, the likelihood of a retracement and correction is imminent before the next major move. That makes buying Bitcoin at this moment a dicey business decision. Instead a research on some altcoin with high volume and out of sync with the recent surges in price would make a better buy.
2097  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: earn money with lending btc?! on: May 06, 2017, 12:08:27 PM
I´m a fan of margin lending. For me was a good way to begin trading. The i spent looking at the exchanges where i had BTC on lending orders was a time i spent learning how the exchange worked. So even the profit is low compared to other forms of cryptocurrency earnings, it is pretty good compared to traditional banks, namely in europe with near zero rates. So IMHO the rates are decent and its a good way to learn being in the exchange.
But what if the lender doesn't know how trade bitcoins? Trading is risky and Lending is a stable incomr and you will lose some bitcoins it depends if the borrower runs the money but there is a collateral to put on before you approved in their loan request, He can lend on poloniex but just for low rate but your money is very secured and you can get it whenever you want and it is automated so your money automaticaly transfer in your balance.
I don't think it is not necessary for a lender to know how to trade to be able to lend Bitcoin, but interest in Bitcoin definitely has to be there, to create the drive and faith. There is an added advantage with lending at Poloniex and it is that one's fund is relatively safer there than with going solo. Ultimately everything narrows down to the values a lender plans to accomplish - lower rates with security of funds or high rates with the attendant high risks. Better to move slow and steady than to climb hastily, only to end in some nasty fall.
2098  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Automated Trading with Bitcoin on: May 06, 2017, 11:02:05 AM
Automated bitcoin trading is just for newbies and to those lazy people who don't want to generate a lot of profit, yes a lot of profit from manual trading why? Because people like us or traders like us has a lot of potential to know the flaws of the market and how to deal with it unlike automated trading that is just for the current program, we are limitless in gaining new knowledge because if we do manual trading more often then it will lead us to become professional trader.
That is like saying that mechanized farming is no better than subsistence agriculture. If you can come up with any profitable strategy, ten nothing stops you from putting same strategy in coded form and multiply you effort even a million fold as a bot is actually an assistant and becomes whatever you make it to be. Problem only starts if you engage just any bot out there to work and especially one you do not understand how or what they are coded to do.
2099  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin better or paypal? on: May 06, 2017, 10:48:50 AM
Paypal segregates some part of the world, while Bitcoin embraces all and shines the light to all regions of the world. Paypal have closed so many businesses in the past by locking up their funds in the guise of fighting scams but failing to return same after documents were presented as requested by, thus confirming they are the original scammers.
Is it possible their actions were directed at such purposes in order to earn some money by fraudulent means. I have nothing against the international payment system PayPal, Well, you already deleted too often began to talk about it negatively
I dont get what meaning you were trying to convey there, nevertheless, if you used to be active in pay-to-click programs - I was active in the past, you would have noticed a whole lot of programs that were grounded not because the owners meant to, but because Paypal locked their funds and refused to release them even after so members of the programs wrote to Paypal to release the funds. They seemed to be invisible back in the days, but thank goodness Bitcoin is now here and aint we beginning to see not just Paypal, but almost all other payment systems sitting up!
2100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: May 06, 2017, 10:35:31 AM
For me, bitcoin is not money. It performs the functions of gold, payment of the system and cash. Bitcoin is something in common with what I called.
We have different understanding but for me it's money because it has a value and more valuable than fiat.
When I have a lot of bitcoins, I will think I am rich because it's money that I am holding.

If you have a lot of gold you will think you are rich as well, but gold is not money, right? It is money if you are spending it on your daily expenses. But if you are just holding it, then it just becomes an investment.
One of the qualities of money is that it should also be a store of value and gold is an asset that serves as a good store of value, so we can rightly say that gold is also a form of money which one can easily exchange for cash anytime anywhere across the globe. It is readily acceptable because people see it as a form of money.
