Tottenham showed their strength against Preston in that game to make them get three goals and get a high-scoring win.
In their next match against Manchester City, Tottenham must pay attention to their opponents and use the appropriate strategy to face Manchester City.
Preston is a team playing in the Championship comparing to Spurs that are a top team in EPL for years. I call the win as normal and the 3 goals as good enough.
I don't see any relation between this 3 goals victory and their next game against City. Spurs should imp otherwise they will lose easily. Their odds are already quite lower than City.
Liverpool - Brighton will play and I am imagining Klopp reaction in case of a draw Roll Eyes

The Football Association Challenge cup isn't necessary to Arsenal, but it would have been at it been they won, lol!
Arsenal's lineup and performance show how seriously they wanted to qualify for the next round of the FA cup. They played out their best but the luck wasn't just on their side, and Such is football. Now it is left for them to do everything possible by making sure that they secure more points and lead the table throughout the remaining half of the season.
This defeat was expected days before the game when you see the big difference in odds between the two clubs. Arsenal tried to win but failed while City will try to get something this season. Arsenal in the other hand, have a main objective which is EPL. In the other competitions, no injury strategy

Lorient was able to win home 2-1 vs Rennes. This is their first victory in a home match since 3 months tho. For Rennes, they are just winning once and losing once
Marseille - Monaco and Nice - Lille will be heated games tho, even the odds there are interesting comparing to the risk!
2084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 28, 2023, 12:45:11 AM
The situation in Schalke is not getting any better. They still have big deficits in defence. They absolutely have to work on that. So far, they have not strengthened their defence. They should definitely buy another defender. The next games will not be any easier. Except for the next game against Köln they have to play many games against teams that belong in the top 5.
Schalke will return to 2.Bundesliga again, they just came to say hi and bye... With such poor performance whether in defence or in the attack line, they cannot stand even above the relegation zone.
For the other +13 teams, they risk to switch to the relegation zone soon. Stuttgart defeat against Leipzig will cost them a lot in case Hertha or Bochum magically win their matches.

In conclusion, We can use AIs to help us but we shouldn't totally rely on them. The rest of the work must still be done by us to ensure that the outcome is great as we expected it.
Totally agree with you. Human intervention is essential at least for the near future and I doubt that our intervention will not be required later but definitely less and less..
Scientific journals for example are being worried about that and will definitely implement a detection system or maybe a signed paper to declare that they didn't use the bot or maybe declare that they used it for correction, inspiration or something particular in an article..

Madrid, with their strong attack, was held up by the Atletico defensive style, which is what they usually do.
It was clearly a match worth playing although admittedly it was marred by Stefan Savic's red card which left Atletico shaky going into second half extra time.
This condition was put to good use by Madrid and their 3 strikers really performed very well in this match.
The red card impacted the extra time and not the game. ATM was leading with 1 goal for 60 minutes and failed to secure it at the end. This cost them the whole match since in the extra time, they were playing with 10 players vs 11 and both Benzema and Vinicius didn't let ATM try their luck in penalties.
At the end, Real Madrid game was quite hard comparing to Barcelona
2087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 IHF Men's World Handball Championship on: January 26, 2023, 11:19:27 PM
In terms of quality, there were far more one-sided matches in this tournament when you compare it with FIFA 2022. Although 32 teams took part in the Football World Cup, not even one of them could be considered as walkovers. Even lowest ranking teams such as Cameroon won matches against top teams. On the other hand, in this tournament the lowest ranking teams (such as Saudi Arabia and Uruguay) went down by heavy margins. BTW, both the tournaments (IHF World Cup and the FIFA world cup) had same number of participants (32).

Like Trofo said, it's just the nature of the game. But that's why football is (at least for me) much more attractive sport than handball. I'm not saying that playing handball is easy, far from it. I think it's more difficult sport with many kicks that go unnoticed by the referees.
I believe we cannot compare football to handball for many reasons but we all know that the popularity of football is bigger and for me, the rules of handball are better and stricter than football. Although it is only 30 minutes, but it is 30 minutes of playtime not wasting time like football. Whenever a player is touched he continues playing at the opposite of football where he was trained to give a show about how a lot he suffers from a touch...

I don't know if you are aware of the whole situation or not. It appears that Juve signed an agreement that CR7 owes the team money so they can deduct that from their gain. It turns that CR7 isn't aware of that, yet he risks to be punished and at the same time he could claim that money.. There is also some ex players that sent private discussion about salary manipulation or something like that so the whole group of players risk to be punished. That's the news that I read yesterday, dunno if there is something new over this story. I got headaches from it so I didn't check it today..
2089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2022/2023 on: January 26, 2023, 11:03:13 PM
I expect City to dominate the game - especially because Arsenal has a smaller team and will certainly prioritize the PL and rotate more.

The bookies agree and offer really attractive odds on Arsenal - many will try at odds higher than 4. No matter what I said before, I will probably be one of them Grin
City odds are around 1.75 vs 4.2 for a draw and the same for Arsenal victory.
City lost in the EFL Cup, ruined its chances in EPL so I assume getting the FA Cup might become a serious challenge for them. For Arsenal, as you mentioned, they are prioritising EPL over the other competitions so their defeat here will not be a surprise tho.
2090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FOOTBALL: EFL Carabao Cup 2022/23 Season (English Football League) on: January 26, 2023, 10:33:05 PM
RESULT:

Nottingham Forest 0-3 Manchester United

This result was from the game played yesterday. I think it is fair enough to say Manchester United will make it to the final no matter what happens when they host Nottingham Forest in the second leg of their semi-final. I cannot see how they could squander a three away goals lead when a place in a final is at stake. The question still remains as to who they will meet: Newcastle United or Southampton
Southampton kicked City with 2 goals and lost with 1 goal vs Newcastle. In the second leg, Newcastle will play home and I doubt Southampton could pass them like what happened with City.
Now ManU in the second leg will play comfortably at home and I think they will win without much efforts.
The final game will be between ManU and Newcastle and I believe ManU will get that title.

Norway and Spain have a very close game today. Both teams are doing good and Norway was able to win until Spain scored a goal in the last minute of the second half thanks to a big mistake by Norwegians. They had the ball and instead of shooting it, they wasted it randomly.. Now the first additional period ended and the second one will start soon.
Very close game but Norway was closer to winning it and they will be gutted if they loose in the end. Spain was always int reach but trailing almost all the time.

Denmark on the other hand won easily as expected. I am also thinking Sweden will have quite easy time against Egypt but other game between France and Germany should be a good one. Will it be German speed or France experience in the end?
Intense game and Spain won at the end. There was many mistakes from professional players here and Norway missed the win since the main time.. The last second mistake to let Spanish players fast score the most important goal cannot be forgivable and they will regret it for years here.
Congratulations to Spain this hard victory and to Denmark their easy win vs Hungary.
The two remaining games will start in 15 minutes.

Spurs signed Danjuma from Villarreal, picking him from Everton few moments before he gets a deal with them. Not sure if he could boost the team but can definitely be an option in case of injuries or to replace a player who isn't doing well.
Meanwhile Chelsea is signing new players to consolidate the team like Mudryk, Joao Felix, Badiashile..

Napoli is leading with comfortable 12 points from Milan and if they continue like that they could confirm the scudetto title before many rounds from the last game. The only problem that could threat the title is a possible sanction like what happened to Juventus... It appears that there is investigations related to the transfer of Osimhen.

I think Marseille are worth more to bet on for their championship rather than doing so for Lens.  Grin

Because I don't think Lens can be more consistent than Marseille until the end of the season. I know that Lens have come a long way and done a quite nice job at the same time. They proved how serious they have been by beating PSG home as well. But it is still quite difficult for me to trust a quite average team like Lens for the title run instead of a much more solid team like Marseille. You know that Marseille have the best form in the league these days as well. They are capable of leaving Lens behind in a couple of weeks the most and fight with PSG as much as they can.
Well this odds are attractive for Marseille vs Monaco more than Troyes vs Lens but could you support Marseille to win in that round for example? Personally I am hesitating and not sure if they could make it or just end the game with a draw.
For the team that could finish the competition second, well I believe both teams deserve to get that place with a bit support for Marseille since they woke up at least for now.

Im so glad to see that bayern can still get 1 point even though bayern was struggling with its performance at this moment. It seems like that bayern is not performing so well against coln. that's very disappointed result for nagelsmann too.
with almost lost, Bayern must increase team spirit like the previous session. I don't know what is wrong, when I look at how they fight to break Koln's defender seems like the attacker will have many goals if Lewandowski is still there. So far, Koln's defender is solid, but this will boomerang because don't have a chance to create a goal from counter-attacks, and this is happen in minute 90.
The situation in Bayern is bad right now, luckily they will face PSG next month otherwise I will doubt they could win vs it.. The 4 points gap and eventually 3 points difference by the end of this round isn't good since they will not put them in a safe situation when they will focus on Champions League.
Meanwhile, Leipzig smashed Schalke and Wolfsburg humiliated Hertha, both with 5 goals difference!

Copa del Rey will resume and we have 2 interesting games between Barcelona - Sociedad and Real Madrid - ATM. Obviously everything could happen there but Barcelona and Real Madrid are favourites in my opinion.
For the other 2 games, we have Valencia - Bilbao that might be hard to predict since both teams are fluctuating a bit in La Liga.

Milan lost too and now Napoli is the virtual champion of this serieA.

Meanwhile, Juventus is the 1st team in history to be punished without any law, without a crime with an inadmissible trial.

Welcome to Italy.
The punishment could extend to Napoli but also to more than 20 players playing for the moment with Juve or already left it in the previous seasons after 2019..
Ennasr could see CR7 punished for one month, Spurs could lose 2 players too for one month and so on... Imagine losing 15 points in one day and losing many players for 1 month in the week after!!
Seriously, if there is financial issues, they should fine the team not deduct the hard earning points, nor kicking the team to a lower league nor punishing the other teams indirectly...

This next game against Everton should be an easy one for Arsenal judging by their level this season, Arsenal have been unbeaten in the past 11 games while Everton is struggling in the relegation zone plus they just sacked Lampard. I doubt they will be in good shape mentally to face a very dominant Arsenal side. The gunners will be extending their lead to a 8 point gap.
I doubt Everton could win vs Arsenal even if they add Zidane as a coach right now!
Less than 2 weeks will not be an easy job to know the team and to impose your strategy for them. There is a time needed for adaptation.. The odds are already way in favour of Arsenal.
BTW, Gunners will face City this Friday in the FA Cup which should be an intense match and I wonder know if City will play it normally or as a must win game Wink

What played out in the Spanish laliga in the match between Valencia and almeria was not an expected result in the aspect of draw but football result can favour any team it doesn't matter if you are a good side or not but playing a good football with a good forceful attack and defense has a lot of contributions to make when it comes to successful team, despite that Spanish laliga is very strong this season Valencia playing at home is suppose to have a victory in this match,
I assume most people expected Valencia for sure to win. Me too, I expected them to win and was quite annoyed to see a draw. Bettors wouldn't like such result. Although playing home and scoring first twice but they failed to prevent the draw in both times.
Almeria got what they were looking for and such positive result, even small, would let them get a bit away from the threat zone of the relegation.
