Great work by Union Berlin as they have captured the lead once again after a long time. After dropping down by a couple of positions honestly I didn't expect them to go up to this position again. But here we are. Bayern Munich have the biggest contribution in this of course. Because they have lost quite many points recently.

They will play an away game against Wolfsburg tomorrow. This might be another game they are losing points if they don't improve their finishing skills. That result would secure Union Berlin's lead. Dortmund also have the same points with Bayern Munich after a great form.

I believe competition has returned back to the German bundesliga, Union Berlin are back to the top of the bundesliga after beating Mainz 2-1, Dortmund are now third, but they have the same points with bayern munich, which is 37 points each; Leipzig are 1 point behind bayern munich, while Frankfurt are 2 points behind bayern munich.

There are so many teams around bayern and are so close to them in points, there is pressure on bayern munich, and i think that pressure will affect them tomorrow, i don't feel they will beat Wolfsburg tomorrow. When the bundesliga ends this season i will be happy to see a winner that is not bayern munich.

Z-tight, Union Berlin is at the top. But the problem is Bayern Munich has played 18 matches. On the other hand, Union Berlin has played 19. It is going to be actually hard for Union Berlin to actually stay on top. Because Bayern Munich is obviously the best team in this league. And they are very soon going to reclaim the first position on the table.

But it is very great to see the league finally being interesting. Because Bayern Munich generally does not let it be interesting at all.

Leverkusen are still unable to restore their performance after the previous Dortmund and with this they have again failed to gain points in the last 2 matches.
It's actually a shame when they are the favorites in this match but indeed Augsburg also did good things in this match. They were very disciplined and one goal made them more focused on defense until the end of the match

From what i have seen on the review between Augsburg and Leverkusen , Leverkusen was the better team til to the 55 Min.
After the goal for Augsburg they also got a few chances to score a goal for the draw , but they was again unlucky to score.
Thought Leverkusen will win it and so i lost my bet on this game.

In this case Augsburg is quite smart in controlling strategy because after they were more concerned with counterattacks after they were ahead they immediately defended and saw from the match in the second half, almost all the players from Augsburg were in defense which made it very difficult for Leverkusen to penetrate their defense.
Currently Leverkusen are in 9th position but there is still a chance next week when they travel to Hoffenheim which doesn't have good statistics.

I'm more interested in the Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg match tomorrow. can Bayern munich win again or will they suffer their next drop in form. The previous 3 matches ended in draws, this is what makes the competition in the bundesliga give birth to stronger competition.
But what was quite surprising was that Dortmund were able to beat Freiburg with a big score where Dortmund won 5-1 over Freiburg in this match. dortmund returned to winning ways by recording 4 consecutive wins which made dortmund rise to 3rd place in the standings.

I think the match between Bayern and Wolfsburg will be quite intense but in the end Bayern will win. If this match would have happened like 2 weeks ago or so then i think the chances of Wolfsburg would have been way higher, but now in the last few matches Wolfsburg also suffered a few defeats and their winning streak is over. Bayern on the other hand has shown a good performance against Mainz in the DFP cup this wednesday and i think that now the momentum is more on Bayerns side.
Regarding the clear win of Dortmund against Freiburg: The main reason for that is that Freiburg received a red card after only 20 minutes played or so. That obviously was a huge advantage for Borussia Dortmund. The red card was quite hard but not a completely wrong decision.

Dortmund destroyed the Freiburg game. playing with 10 players from the early minutes, of course, was difficult for Freiburg to do. especially since their opponent is Dortmund. even though he had equalized the goal, in the second half Freiburg was completely powerless.
interestingly 5 goals were made by 5 different players in Dortmund. Dortmund showed their quality, they made 25 shots with 77% possession. unlucky day for Freiburg.

I think an early dismissal is not an excuse for such a failure of Freiburg. Usually, when there is a removal, a qualified team remaining in the minority is completely closed and the score in the match, on average, is less than when playing in equal compositions. Freiburg, which before this game was on an equal footing with Borussia, could have played better.

This is the second massacre for Freiburg after they were destroyed by Wolfsburg.
Killiann Sildillia's red card was a real disaster in this match as it looked like it made for an easy win for Dortmund regardless.
With this opportunity, Dortmund immediately took third place for a while and Freiburg were still stuck in 6th position even though they were still safe in that position.

I think Bayern game deserves a lot more attention than any other game. They are going to play to win and they are the best team in the league and yet they are very close to points by other teams and they need a win. This means that they are capable of dominating the game, so it all comes down to psychology, will they go out with "lets show everyone who we are" type of mindset, or will they be "why are we losing points" mindset.

Depending on which one they have, I am pretty sure that they are going to end up with a win or a loss in the end. That's why it's quite important to make a statement and not just get a win, something with a big margin would be a lot better.

Dortmund have tried this season for them to be at 3rd positions,  before now their performance was not stable which has made them to be behind. If Dortmund becomes very consistent they have the chance of being in at the first position.

Schalke have started to get points for two weeks which might be seen as positive news. However they got the same scores in both games like 0-0 as well. They are still struggling with scoring problems but at least they didn't concede any goal. The opponents were even teams like Koln and Gladbach. This might seem as some improvement I assume but it is still not changing much for them now.

Schalke are like destined to relegate from the Bundesliga as long as they keep playing poorly. I would have liked to see them surprising me though but I'm sure of it.

Union used to be in the first spot for many rounds this season and at some point they seemed to be solid and hardly lose points then they dropped and now claimed back the first spot but of course temporarily until Bayern match vs Wolfsburg.
Dortmund indeed won but their victory has another taste since their opponent was Freiburg and the result was 5-1. Dortmund are now third with the same number of points as Bayern although their bad results..

Glad to see that union berlin was going back again at the top again. I hope that berlin will be consistent until the end of season. I will be so happy to see a new winner in this season other than bayern. I would not call this as farmer league anymore if union will able to win the title for this season. Wolfsburg will have chances to make bayern lose three points. this will make the gap to the union becomes two points. I'd liked to see union securing the trophy.
This is the golden momentum for berlin to pray for bayern to lose against wolfsburg. The end of season is going to be a very strct competitions in bundesliga.

It may not take long because Bayern will not allow this. Tomorrow they will go to Wolfsburg and the chance of 1 point is still haunting but after with Union being on top I think they will be more intentional now to get 3 points because even if 1 point can still get them back in position but I'm sure they don't want it to just end 1 point.

Bayern Munich has to win that match against Wolfsburg so things won't get complicated for them, and it won't be easy against a team like Wolfsburg who showed some real class in a lot of matches this season, they managed to beat Freiburg and Herta Berlin with scores of 5-0 and 6-0, and I'm guessing that Bayern Munich won't make it out with 3 points tomorrow, but we'll see.

The goals created by Dortmund were extraordinary and it is likely that Dortmund will return to the top 2 from the top of the standings to win first place again.
