With only 37 millions transactions in the blockchain and with the number of daily one being constant from may last year between the 50-70k range...
I doubt there are that many bitcoin users or HODLERS.

Assuming 1 million users, at 70k transactions per day, that means the average bitcoin user makes 2 transactions per month. That seems plausible.

My choice would be the Saya de Malha Bank, but I am open to other ideas.  Grin

Mauritius claims the Saya de Malha Bank as part of its Exclusive Economic Zone.

Won't this cause a problem?
2103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 21, 2014, 01:07:57 AM
There are going to be a lot of embarrassed punters around here next month when KNC starts shipping a 6TH Neptune.

LOL. In your dreams.

You guys with your tiny 15% increases per adjustment. I remember when it went up 10x in under a month. That was the only time it hit the maximum adjustment cap.

Ugh, from 23 to 244 in 3 weeks.
2105  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 18, 2014, 05:24:03 AM
- It's 7,200$ with proof of order from other vendor

Plus shipping brings it back up to nearly $8000. For someone without the 10% discount, it's even worse.

- It's less than 1.5 jumps, not 2 jumps

Even if it was only 1 jump (delivery before the end of April), the break even point will still not be reached.

And my difficulty adjustment estimations are quite conservative. If you actually deliver the sort of hashpower you are promising, then there's absolutely no chance of a new SP10 breaking even.
2106  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 18, 2014, 04:40:59 AM
Competitor:
On a good day you get 1.6 TH/s
On bad day you get below 1.3 TH/s
Only 4 ASICs, no redundancy built into the system.
They just changed their warranty policy from 90 days to 30 days for a very good reason.
SP10 power preformance ratio is much better (30%-40% less), meaning much smaller electricity bill or hosting bill.
4U vs 1.25U, again meaning much cheaper hosting.
Not relevant, but just that you understand the level of their engineering: we're 40nm, they're 28nm. NOT a good engineering. In fact, very bad.
We know the reasons for their fire sale. We can't elaborate, but it's not good.

We're giving 10% discount on showing us proof of purchase from other vendor.
With current production capability and queue status, we'll ship all orders given today well before May 10th.
For 7,200$ you can get 2.8TH/s +- 10% (usually plus) within ~20 days,

I don't want to clutter your thread with competitor comparisons, so I'll just stick with evaluating your offering.

You may be making a nice profit on each SP10, but your customers won't at the current prices. Here, take a look: Mining Calculator. Those "~20 days" are enough to kill any chance at a profit.
2107  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 18, 2014, 03:10:36 AM
Let me troll a bit:

I just realized that S2 + 2*S1 is roughly the same as spondoolies SP10.
S2 (batch 2) + 2*S1 price is  ~$4470 (incl. shipping) and if you bought S2 batch 2 you get it two days ago.

S10 is $4495 + shipping roughly $400 and you get it in May.

Just saying... lower your prices guys!

There's another competitor selling in-stock 1.6 TH/s units for $4800. Difficulty just jumped up to nearly 7B. SP10 pricing is looking worse and worse every day.
2108  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: April 18, 2014, 01:16:13 AM
Price dropped for M & H-cards

You're kidding, right? $8 per GH/s? This isn't 2013 anymore.
2109  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: April 16, 2014, 04:06:54 AM
2.  I've looked into Texas law and, from what I've found, either party can bring an attorney to small claims, so one could not assume that CT will not have representation.  I think they almost certainly would.

Thanks for the correction. Texas small claims courts do allow lawyers. A few other states do not.
2110  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: April 16, 2014, 01:22:26 AM
class action is likely better.  a good lawyer has a better chance of winning than any one of us showing up in court.  that will cost some amount of money.  and yes, I'd be willing to look at that option, as it becoming clear that they have no plans to do anything about any of this.

Small claims court is the best. No lawyers allowed, so minimal cost to go to small claims court. It would be easy to show you ordered a product with specific performance, and were delivered something that fails to meet the specs (or not delivered anything, etc). The hard part is you have to show up in their home town court. If you live far away, that would be a problem.

Bitcoin will not be a ponzi if, and only if, it succeeds

Don't be an idiot. Bitcoin is not a ponzi.
2112  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] ASICs group buy by pidobir on: April 15, 2014, 08:19:46 PM
I hope you have made a profit in money!

Let me take a look.

BTC spent: 24.5455
BTC earned: 11.3917

Ouch, that was a huge loss!
2113  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Whats a good Bitcoin Mining profit calculator? on: April 14, 2014, 02:32:31 AM

This one is the best. The key feature is the ability to calculate slowing growth to the difficulty adjustments.

Or someone wants a refund so they'll scream RMA or make problems here.

AMT is accusing customers of fraudulently damaging their miners in hopes of getting a refund.

The fact is AMT doesn't know how to safely package items so they won't be damaged during shipment.
2115  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: April 14, 2014, 01:05:33 AM
pb mining was selling mining contracts on ebay quite awhile before the presence on this forum.
hes got experience obtaining large amounts of mining gear and working with it.
check his ebay link on the landing page.
as an experienced miner he stands to make much more profit with an honest operation than with any scam.
thats what decided me on going in for a couple btc.

LOL. There's no better profit than a well run Ponzi. No hazzle maintaining a real mining farm. Just eek payments out to the new suckers.
2116  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 13, 2014, 02:05:53 AM
The AMT administrative office is not open on Saturdays or Sundays so that would not be possible. Surely someone will get back to you on Monday regarding your request for pickup.

We're still working and shipping out over the weekend

Yes, you can handle pickups. You owe it to your customers, since you are horrendously late delivering their miners.
2117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 12, 2014, 01:43:00 AM
Hmm. Since FedEx accepted the package then technically they should be responsible for the damage.

No. They have guidelines on how to pack a shipment. If those guidelines are not followed, they will not reimburse damages. See if you can find AMT's packing method in the guidelines: http://images.fedex.com/us/services/pdf/packaging/Computer_fxcom.pdf
2118  Economy / Speculation / Re: The psychology of a HODLer on: April 11, 2014, 04:56:08 PM
It's like hodling your dick while peeing. If you let it go and try to catch it as it falls lower, you might end up in a great mess if you're not an expert. So the hodlers hodl on tight and believe in the potential of the thingy they hodl in their hands. Quite simple Wink

Hodlers are long. Wink

So much for bitcoin protecting us from greedy and unscrupulous bankers.

I don't know what you're talking about. My bitcoins are 100% safe from anyone else, including bankers, etc. If people send their bitcoins to someone else to hold, then they don't have bitcoins anymore. Since they don't have bitcoins anymore, they're not safe anymore.
2120  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 10, 2014, 10:54:50 PM
Its really not too expensive.

The 1 month hosting = $0.19/kwh and 3 month plan = $0.15/kwh

What calculator are you using?

$250/mo, 720 hrs/mo, 1.25 kw = $.28/kwh
