Population of Crimea. Not of whole Russia. They are less than 3% now. The same numbers as american natives in the Us. (if we talk about combined races also) around 2%

Crimean Tatars are about 10-12% of the population of Crimea, and that would make 0.1-0.2% of the population of Russia.

Now Transnistria wants to merge with Russia.

Now this is getting funny.
Say what you want but the majority there are Romanians and that is Romanian land.

As per the last census, the ethnic composition of Transnistria is:

Moldvin - 31.94%
Russian - 30.37%
Ukrainian - 28.82%
Bulgar - 2.50%

Russian + Ukrainian + Belorussian (0.69%) is well above 60%.

And 375,000 ha. represents almost 15% of the total area of Crimea.
See, how it under agricultural aspect.

From that map it seems that only about 20% of the total area of Crimea is arable. And 375K ha. represents 75% of that.

What about the Tatar ethnic minority? The people who would have been the natural majority of Crimea if they hadn't mostly been killed or driven away by Russian imperialists.

The Crimean Tatars enslaved, butchered and destroyed the Russians for almost 400 years, until Russia defeated them in 1783. However, they were allowed to stay in Crimea as Russian citizens. Currently, they comprise 10-12% of the population.

On the other hand, the American Indians warmly welcomed the European migrants in the 16th century when they first arrived at Massachusetts. In return, they were massacred and forcibly assimilated using inhuman means. Until the 1970s Indian children were banned from speaking their native language, which has resulted in the extinction of 99% of the Indian languages.

The Indians also would have been the natural majority of the US, if they were not killed off by the colonists.

"Maidan" maniac will cut gas supply to EU.

How effective that will be?

A large part of the Russian gas is delivered via the Nord Stream.

One is every 8 prostitutes in the EU is from Russia , so If I were you I wouldn't start talking about prostitution.
Same number for .RO , unfortunately.

Never seen street prostitutes from Russia or Ukraine in Italy.
But romanian, italian and bulgarian - yes.

And Romanian population is about 1/8th of that of Russia.

That area is currently under the private ownership of ethnic Ukrainian and Russian farmers. They are not going to give it up. And 375,000 ha. represents almost 15% of the total area of Crimea.

The oblasts of  Donetsk, Kharkov and Lugansk are the most hardcore pro-Russian provinces. It will be interesting to know the situation in Kherson, Odessa.etc.

I heard that the plane is carrying 17 tons of gold is that true?

Just some crazy rumors... 17 tons of gold without any armed escort? Impossible.
21179  Other / Off-topic / Re: Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. WTF? on: March 15, 2014, 12:14:17 PM
Malaysia's Prime Minister has just announced that the investigation indicates onboard communications most likely disabled by the crew and that the change of flight course that followed looks like deliberate action. This aircraft could be really hijacked, but for what purpose? Ransom? Where did it land? Did they even make it to some runway?

The crew totaled 12 people. Even if one or two of them were actually terrorists, the others would have been able to outmaneuver them.
