2121  Economy / Services / Re: DA DICE Signature Campaign - 'Da' BEST Yet | HIGHEST RATES! | JOIN THE FUN! on: April 19, 2015, 08:38:17 PM
How is your constructive post count grade counted?

I checked last weeks stats, and I made 34 constructive posts, and I got a C- rating, while someone else made 23 constructive posts, and got a B rating.

It turns out the ratings are kinda arbitrary.  I last week I spent a lot of time posting in "techincal discussion" helping others who were having trouble with bitcoin software (seemingly quite constructive behavior) and I got my lowest rating yet.  Another week my rating went from A, down to D with a note that I had posted too often on a given day.  After I explained to the folks that actually this had been over 2 days, they changed my rating back to B.  I still can't really figure out what it's supposed to mean.  So I just decided not to worry about the ratings anymore.

Posting in gambling section is encouraged, i remember you post a lot in gambling section in the week you got A and bonus. IMO those posts in techinical disscussion are constructive but not relevant to gamble or dice. Most of geeks may not be interested in dice and gamble, that's why the rate is lower.

Maybe sig campaign manager will explain the reason to you.  Wink

Currently, it is calculated based on constructiveness, consistency mainly, ,then number and boards (both less relevant).
tspacepilot got D initially, because he made 50% around 45 posts in 24 hours, which was noted as not consistent.

From this week, we might switch to all constructive grading system. Cheesy
But, those who made 50% posts + in 1 o 2 days will be noted.

I am sure that the ratings are in no way arbitrary. Wink

You might also want to take note that 50% 1-2 day posters might just be busy on other days. I think most of my posts are made within a 3 day span, as I am busy on the other days.

I think you should judge by quality alone, and not judge the 50% 1-2 day posters. Of course, if their posts are non-constructive, that is a different story.

Is there an actual referral link that we can use? Not just the one on facebook, but an actual referral link that we can promote anywhere.
2123  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Google Voice Outside Of The US - Your Own Personal USA Phone Number! on: April 19, 2015, 08:27:47 PM
If I get several numbers can they call each other for free if I am in another country. So, can 2 people in Australia talk to each other for free using these numbers?

Yes, these numbers can call each other for free.

i dont understand this..

may someone help me to explain about this until i can provit some bitcoin...

thx

Well, you have to double the bitcoin amount sent by the previous person. After your deposit, if no one sends after you after your deposit gets 100 confirmations, you win the prize.

I hope this simplifies things!

So quiet, who won #50000000 roll? I rolled #50000005  Sad

A user called scotch won the 50 million roll contest.
2130  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: WIN BIG!! 0.1 BTC funded. Send a small amount, win a BIG amount!! on: April 19, 2015, 02:05:13 AM
i have sent 0.001 twice so its 2x of the previous amount , as per your statement

Quote
If it is less than 2x of the previous amount, it will be considered as donation to the prize pool.

i wish this is not included lol.

I think you read the previous payment wrong, the previous payment was 0.01, so your payment is only 2/10ths of the previous amount. You should send some more, otherwise it will be counted as a donation.

Also, has the first amount received 100 confirmations yet?

I'm not sure if this had been suggested before, as I don't want to read all 45 pages, but we should be able to upload an avatar from our computer's image gallery.
2133  Other / Meta / Re: Are members of sig ad campaigns only banned or other members as well are banned? on: April 18, 2015, 11:55:48 PM
For eg: A user creates a thread about a news article and talks about sun, moon, trees and I don't know what else. Isn't that considered going off topic in their own post? If they were wearing a signature, they might have been probably banned but now their posts are being considered non-spammy?

Please post an example. Maybe their off-topic comment were entertaining enough to others.

Sorry to the OP but the posts dint make sense to me.  Sad

The 1st post was a news article, and the second and third posts were a joke.

Also, these posts were made in the "politics and society" subforum. The "politics and society" and "off-topic" sections are moderated less than other subforums, and the mods are less strict about posts made in these 2 sections.

Ryan, I think there should be a simple feature to copy an address to clipboard. That way, we wouldn't have to make sure that we have copy/pasted correctly.

Also, has the API been released yet? I can't find it on the site.

2136  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: >> SteadyTurtle.com - DDoS Protected - SSD - 99% OFF Get 1st month for just 0.01 on: April 18, 2015, 03:44:42 AM
The promo 1 penny is active ? i can test your host with only 0,01 $ in bitcoin ?
it's still active, but I'm not use how to send a penny in Bitcoin without being rejected by the network. Try use deposit?

The site owner will give you your first month for free, (at least that is what he did for me) as you can't really transact 1 penny in bitcoin. You could also deposit, that would also be an option.
2137  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: Disable new user registration, Invites only on: April 17, 2015, 03:36:48 AM
I don't think this is going to happen. One point of the forum is to get more people involved into Bitcoin. If registration is closed then less people will join the community which means less people will use Bitcoin.

Id agree with Quickseller here. The only thing that perhaps might be a smart move, yet Perhaps difficult to implement in keeping with the spirit of Bitcointalks view on privacy, would be to require more information during registration so that its a bit more difficult to create fake/spam/scam accounts.

Phone verification could be a good idea. Anyone wanting to remain truly anonymous could simply go buy a burner with cash from a 7-11 and buy some pre-paid text/minutes.

That would likely weed out 90% of fake accounts.

Strato

No. I don't think too much info should be required, as isn't bitcoin all about privacy?

I agree that scammers should be blocked, but putting stuff out like your address, exact place where you live etc., is a little bit ridiculous IMO. Also, scammers can just fake the info.

Buying a burner number for phone number verification is unnecessary, I don't think people should have to pay or disclose their real identity to participate in this forum.

2139  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Unofficial Bitmedia.io Discussion Thread on: April 17, 2015, 02:57:26 AM
Thanks! I didn't want to bother their support after only a couple of days, just checking if they were active.

By the way I sent you a small tip for your help to Bitcoin Shower's donation address and I noticed that if you copy paste it, it comes out in all caps and doesn't work (I just copied it from blockchain instead), might want to change that!

Thanks for your tip! And thanks for pointing out the error, I will go and try to fix the donation address.
2140  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Unofficial Bitmedia.io Discussion Thread on: April 17, 2015, 02:47:02 AM
Sorry for resurrecting this thread but I'm curious how long Bitmedia.io usually takes to approve new publishers. I applied a couple of days back and haven't heard from them since.

Thanks!

Bitmedia.io usually takes 2-5 days to approve a publisher; I got approved within 4 days. If they take too long to reply, you can send an email to their support at:
