2121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: August 23, 2023, 03:53:18 PM

After I made a deposit in a casino I won about 20 times my deposit in a few gambling's but unfortunately my KYC was not approve at that time. When I sent my documents to them for KYC they did not approve my KYC. They asked for more documents. Later I lost all my money by betting. I can't blame them entirely in this case but if I could have won more bet then I could try again for KYC. But when I lost all my assets, I was no longer interested in playing at that casino.

Lack of patience had a blow on you and that is why doing KYC first and passing it is actually encouraged. It is a good thing to have acknowledged that it wasn't the casino's fault, you wanted to continue winning while your KYC was cleared but it didn't happen like that unfortunately. I would have heard myself back from such temptation to continue playing while waiting. Sometimes withdrawal gives you a kind of respite and a relaxed mind to be better in your games. Maybe you would have won bigger if you were able to withdraw the first time. So after losing the money, did you continue with the KYC?
2122  Other / Off-topic / Re: I have everything ready Im looking for person who has a lot money we make good on: August 23, 2023, 02:49:47 PM

Im dealing with super wealth bank so it's serious deal and high stakes on the play
The location is in Europe

Why looking for loan here when you can get it from those super banks and you do the business transaction with them. That will pay you more because they already know you better than users here who can't smell knowing you, so they will require a little collateral or none since they are going to hold the money and give you some percentage. I advise you to go offline for such and not to waste your time here.
2123  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: P2P Scams : Where does the government stand on: August 23, 2023, 12:46:40 PM
There are few countries that still maintained the ban on cryptocurrency and just imagine someone that is trading cryptocurrency whether through P2P or other means and got scammed, do you think that he will be ready to report the case to the police? This won't happen because he knows that he might even get arrested for breaking the law of his nation. If you trade Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies in a country that had out a ban on it, it won't have the gods to report the case because you might even be punished for that. If crypto is legal the a case can be filed.
If a cryptocurrency is prohibited in a country, this does not mean that citizens of this country cannot use cryptocurrencies in other countries. If this citizen is deceived by a fraudster, then it makes no sense for him to seek help from the police of his country. And it also makes no sense to contact the police of a foreign country if he does not comply with all the laws of another country.

Above all that is being discussed here regarding how a P2P trader whose country didn't legalize bitcoin can seek redress if he was scammed, well IMO I think the whole of the bunk of retrieving the coin should be on the exchange that guaranteed the transaction as escrow. That should be the right position if the party scammed have done all necessary registrations and verified. If the transaction is in binance then they should ensure to retrieve the coin . This is like other off line P2P services, the escrow does the best effort for the transaction to be successful and in a case where it doesn't then the escrow or guarantor is held liable.

However, in the case of P2P in exchanges, I could suggest a deposit fund or reserve by each trader (based on their level of amount) where an exchange could dip in to repay a defaulting party and with that, the scam issues will have a natural death .
2124  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Serious Sportsbet problem, they paid 38.32 LTC to the wrong address on: August 23, 2023, 12:24:37 PM
Because of things like this is always tripple check every address I use for withdrawals and at sites that don’t have instant withdrawals I also always screenshot the withdrawal page.

It’s just a little effort but when something goes wrong it can have a big impact.

I don’t have high hope for your case since you say it yourself, it’s your word against theirs, and most likely the mistake comes from your end. Cry

Sort of a lesson for the fast runners who don't want to take a little more time and effort to verify address they are sending to receive rewards or winnings. It is unfortunate that op might have had hackers sharing his information and they might have changed the address. It is better to copy out some of the important wallet address you often use out and save somewhere like notepad with identification name of the coin/wallet address, so that with little effort you can just go to the notepad and copy to paste but the buttom line is to reconfirm the address before sending.
2125  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How signature campaigns de take make money for di forum. on: August 23, 2023, 10:51:31 AM
Na simple matter you dey ask. That signature campaign na normal advert wey people dey do for radio, newspaper or television. Some people self dey carry their advert come meet you for house like people wey dey sell things, soap on promo, noodles and many more like that wey dem dey even carry for motor as you know. Some people dey also do T-Shirt and customize their company name their. So signature campaign na same way, if you click those their link it will take you to the adverts of the company running the signature campaign so you go fit choose to do business with them. But one unique thing about this forum be say she represent the biggest bitcoin community and crypto too with highly reputable reviews, so those people wey dey run btc and altcoin related products dey like come here because dem sabi say the forum get global coverage for cryptocurrency.
2126  Economy / Economics / Re: Which problem will you choose to solve? on: August 22, 2023, 07:41:41 PM
I will prefer that the poor are helped to solve their problem. The reason for my choice is that the poor dominate the society and most of the struggle to better the society is that the poor might also benefit good and enjoy their world, so if we have the opportunity to solve some problem why not it be for the poor. The population is majorly of the poor and solving majority of the world's population problem means more poor people will benefit and the poor they say can't help themselves on like the rich who are connected in high places. For example regards to some general amenities like water, food, shelter , the rich can provide them adequately for themselves.
2127  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Dis na opportunity to buy more o make una no go sell o. on: August 22, 2023, 05:30:00 PM
E be like say your friends na newbies and dem buy Bitcoin during dis year's ATL, becuz I no see how person go panic wan go rush sell im Bitcoin becuz di price drop to $26k. Whoever sensitize your friend about Bitcoin did a poor job, dem suppose let am know say bitcoin na volatile asset and di price dey rise and fall any how. if person no teach am, himself suppose dey read up do small research. If your friend fit react like dis becuz of di price drop, hope say na di person na im even hold di private keys to him wallet becuz I don hear of one funny story like dat wey somebody get Bitcoin but an anoda person dey hold am.

But persin fit still sell during the bear time or this little drop wey happen few days ago if you dey sure say e go drop where you go fit cash out. The thing wey make people dey talk say e no good to sell and just to hodl na say nobody dey sure say you go still fit meet better low price if you sell. Oya see for example with the drop of price to $26k from $30k , that one na already 4k profit but na only if persin chop onions to see say the price go crash otherwise selling why people dey hope for buy no bad. Na persin still dump him coin wey crash drop price come down.
2128  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What role can the Govt play in improving the value of the naira? on: August 22, 2023, 04:36:07 PM
The solution for me is simple and no need to talk grammar too much. Na bad economy dey affect Naira. All the indices to take make economy function well dey for red. To fix the economy make dem just begin produce something and dey export them we go see say things take use there hand adjust to normal. Back then wey Naira and dollar dey at level in exchange rate, Nigeria dey export many things because electricity dey and companies dey here dey manufacture but where all that go now? Dem just put eyes for oil yet them no fit put refinery to work. When a government is run based on who you know, people won't do the right thing, na so dem go dey serve their families and put their friends for government.
You make valid point for here. I been wan tok say if we focus on our Tax Reforms policy, e fit also help but then I remember say we dey pay taxes yet not much has been done. Naija nah area wey God bless with so many natural resources but ignorance and the slave mentality for our leaders bodi nai dey cause the stagnation. I mean, who go dey comfortable to dey export something outside wey go come with im own excise duty cost, other pay and the rest if no be person wey get something to benefit from inside?

Sometimes I dey tempted to conclude say no Govt wey go come from now on fit help the case of the country if them still harbor selfish intents but we still dey look and hope for beta tins.

Tax no fit work for naija. Who and who go pay the tax self, even I hear say some West African countries still dey own naija some money base on light supply. Okay for naija we sabi say many big companies still dey own better money, see them no dey pay because no body trust where the money dey go and na so dem go dey carry small money bribe dey use the small light wey come. Tinubu dey want tax people when work no even dey and people wey get dey underpaid. My brother, persin no dey collect from where dem no put anything. The corruption for naija too much and na same people dey the government, see wike wey be minister for Jonathan time later become governor for 8 years and now him dey enter minister of FCT. Infrastructure and social Amenities go fix this country but dem no go want do am even when dem send the money out, one minister and governor go share am and that will end there. Now dem want share money wey dem say na for palliative on the fuel subsidy and dem want share am through manually, that is from governors to share the poor. How we think say that go happen? It will not because each table wey the money land go collect better cut. Ask yourself why government no dey use BVN share money if them dey sincere. Shebi dem get our numbers wey we take do NIN and BVN, at least dem still send us message through am if dem get wetin one agency want do, so why dem no fit share money through electronic means, na corruption.
2129  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: No Fiat, just Digital currency. on: August 22, 2023, 03:38:56 PM

"The Nigerian government has shown interest in blockchain technology, the technology underlying Bitcoin, and recognizes its potential benefits in various sectors such as finance, supply chain management, and more. So, while they may not have accepted Bitcoin as a local currency, they are still exploring how to leverage blockchain technology in their country."

To start with, this part of your post wey you put for quote, if e no be your own original sentence or phrase then make you try add the link from where you from lift am but na your own, no wahala.

So regarding your post about adoption of bitcoin, we know say naija no fit stand on their own, so dem no fit join El Salvador for now. Naija government go want make at least countries wey matter begin adopt am and like we dey see say some don begin talk about blockchain and to use am for election like US, that na im make dem even dey consider blockchain. But make we forget about adoption of bitcoin from countries oo because the government go want to have control over currency and that one follow for one factor wey make them be government and again bitcoin dey volatile. So dem go just support their CBDC and take blockchain support the system.
2130  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: HABITS THAT DEFINE AN AFRICAN: on: August 22, 2023, 02:14:18 PM
I agree with some of the things wey you say but I go just commen on some because some mentality don dey change as people don begin understand one or two things differently.

(4) When you get rich, people say you have a secret bedroom where noone enters.

This one don dey change as people don dey see say no be really say na secret room for juju stuff but either for comfort and relaxation, study room and room to do some other legit business online.

(5) When you become old you are suspected to be a witch.

This don begin change

(6) When you take a bath, they will ask you if you are going somewhere.

This one too don begin change with the rate of fine boy and girls wey dey baff up stay back home doing legit things, if you know you know.

(9) No natural death occurs in Africa.Your enemy is always the cause.

People don begin change here too because of the rate of terminal diseases now and organ failure. People outside the family even know certain disease or sickness wey other people dey carry waka because dem dey meet dem for hospital, so person no go just come lie say person no sick just die. People outside and on internet get information wey we no even sabi.

(10) Counting money after withdrawing from the ATM.

Na mostly old people fit still dey do this one. Majority of the young people understand better.

(12) Removing shoes when walking in the mud and entering the house.

So you want carry portorportor enter house abi.

(13) There are some special parts of the chicken meat that are reserved for the husband e.g gizzard.

Some house no dey do am again especially enlightened homes wey still understand say children need egg more than adult. That reminds me, you fit add this egg stuff join.

(14) Buying new clothes when there is a festival
This is changing with the rate of poverty too, some families no dey send again.

(15) When one is given a microphone, they first blow air into it or tap it with a finger to test whether it is working despite the previous user having used the same microphone.

Ha... Guys wey dey handle mic now don plenty so that is fading off because DJ self go don taste mic for your front before you collect am.

(17)Looking left and right when crossing one way road.

Na who want die like that. No be even for one way self, even for better express. You know for naija everything possible.

(19) Reserving a special chair in the house for the husband.

Na like chair wey go face visitors mostly. I know say some house still dey do am especially where the father is seen as demigod

(20).Feeling proud when sitting next to a white person in a bus.

Back then, oyibo no even dey again for naija. Na we dey go meet dem for their country home. Grin

2132  Economy / Economics / Re: Running faucet business in 2023 still possible? on: August 21, 2023, 09:27:30 PM

Way back that time, in order for me to get that Satoshi and directed to my wallet I need to solve some captcha so many times a day so that I can get little amount of money everyday. Sometimes I earn that time 3-5$ a day in Satoshi for me it is good because it is free and it helps me to finance my study that's why even though it is quiet time consuming because of cool down still I worked for it. Captcha is a kind of PPC in third party website.

You must have started earlier for your earnings in faucet to see you through study. As at the time I knew about faucet, it was already worhless especially bitcoin faucet because you earn was you can't imagine will make any meaning except you keep playing for more time before you can make a withdrawal of yet insignificant amount. However, dogecoin benefitted more people because it gave a lot more unit of doge at a time.
2133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I can’t cope on my own. What do you think I should do? on: August 21, 2023, 08:10:54 PM
It is a simple and straightforward issue that you can decide for yourself. If you check yourself and the history of your gambling that you confirmed wasn't good and you were being frustrated until you met the telegram pay group that did a free tips and you won different times, maybe you could now try the VIP to see if it will work like the free tips and if you are not satisfied after trying, you can stop. There is no scam in that if the fee is okay by you and if it is a one time off for the month or based on the duration for the subscription.
2134  Economy / Economics / Re: The Impact of Russian African Alliance on World Economy on: August 21, 2023, 05:28:11 PM

Their aim at developing trade and economic cooperation among its member nations. Seeing all of these, what do you guys think will be the impact of the Russian African alliance on the world economy. We know there is no war right now but the rhetoric and tensions all over is being felt worldwide. Would the world economy suffer or would we be fine?

We all know that these new found alliance is not majorly for economic development or purpose but it may be the aftermath of such coming together. Russia is trying to build a strong friendship outside Europe and America being the one they are also shielding themselves from. Most of what we are seeing in the interest of Russia in Africa was born out of the economic sanctions from Europe and NATO for invading Ukraine. Russia and China are basically wanting to develop a strong unit among other smaller countries while they play the big man role of protection because of their military strength just same role US is playing in NATO and the world. But no doubt such alliance will eventually lead to economic growth from the competition of who is able to influence the Africa continent more. It use to be US and China (in terms of business) but now Russia is coming into the picture and I believe African continent might withness some growth in certain countries but there will be exploitation in certain cases.
2135  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will $25,000 give this time? on: August 21, 2023, 05:09:34 PM
Your chart is pointing down to 18,556 and that could mean a very bearish time but I don't know what month it could be or even this year. But your speculation for $25k is very possible with the drop already the price could still slowly drop as the effect of the shedding of 4,000 is still felt in the market, that is making weak hands to drop more coins in fear. It is all speculative but the real fact is bitcoin will profit those who hodl till the new dawn of halving next year.
2136  Economy / Economics / Re: How to avoid over expenses and have discipline on: August 21, 2023, 03:12:53 PM
I am also in this problem, many earn much less money than I do and save a lot of money every month but even though I earn comparatively more than them, I run out of money before the end of the month. As a result of which I sometimes have to borrow from others. I have tried many ways to spend less money and save some money but I have never been successful in my plans.

I work in a private company and along with the job I continue my education and also I have to pay some household expenses but after paying the household expenses I think I should have some money but at the end of the month I never find that amount with me.
Tell me about how I should spend my money and how if I spend the money I hope to save some money at the end of the month.

That depends on each person's situation. People earn less than you, but if they live alone and don't have to care for anyone, they will easily have savings at the end of the month. As for you or those who have more responsibilities to complete such as family expenses, children, education ... of course, you can't expect to have savings at the end of the month like them. My income is even several times higher than that of my friends, but I have never had as much savings as they do Grin Grin.

All of what we are saying here depends on our life style. If you are that type who spend all he has today and expect that tomorrow greater income will come in then such person is not prudent about spending and may not be able to have savings except they change from such way of life. Money needs to be guided so that it will generate more money, if you have enough savings then you can use that in establishing another business which will become another source of income and you continuously become better financially but to squander all in expectation for another tomorrow is a hope that may be thwarted.
2137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top altcoin that you won't buy anymore on: August 21, 2023, 02:52:47 PM

What is the name of that Top altcoin that you won't buy anymore??

I won't like ripple, it has a very low hype in the market and many people believe it is highly manipulated. Apart from that the price volatility is not encouraging, xrp has not increased more than $3 yet it stays in top list of coins in CMC. I won't like a project that it growth still depends on what the outcome of the court issue is.
2138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I will pass KYC later is a bad idea on: August 21, 2023, 01:43:04 PM
You just highlighted an important thing about playing and withdrawing in casino. The point you raised anbout KYC could be as a result of some factors. The issue is that some bettors are confident that they have document to show for their KYC and will enable them to have easy passage but most times they even get stocked with that document either it will be blurred, has an alteration which now becomes an issue for them at the time they want to go ahead with the KYC. Some bettors also don't have appropriate document to show or they just don't like KYC so they depend on luck not to go through KYC or they think by withdrawing small amount of money, they won't be required to submit documents for KYC since they are small winners thinking the casino will focus on those winning huge.
2139  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why Bitcoin Dey Come Down? on: August 21, 2023, 12:24:37 PM

I am just Suprise how bitcoin price drops drastically like this within some hours. And I wonder why Elum sell off this huge amount of bitcoin where some people are willing to buy more, did he find anything bad about it? or just for his selfish interest since he is a supporter of altcoins?

You don't need to be surprised because that is how the market is. A btc whale may want to crash the price by creating artificial panic in the market because he wants to get more bitcoin or for whatever reason. If you sell btc at $31k and you wait to buy again at $15k that means if either have profited $16k or you will be hodling 2btc instead of the 1 btc you had. That is how the market is manipulated and there is nothing wrong with that. It is not because he was being selfish about btc, it may be for business purposes. All those supporting altcoins still have btc because they know cryptocurrency starts and ends with btc.
2140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos games are not made by the casino teams but... on: August 21, 2023, 11:45:46 AM

We can't check the fairness of third-party games, it's on us to trust them or not. As a person who likes to play slots and some other third-party games, I know how unpredictable these games can be. The long-losing streaks are pretty much normal, we rely on pure luck, and there are no guarantees that we will land on a bonus round with some greater payout.

But even where we know that gambling is luck based we should also know where we are throwing our money to. At least with the assurance that the house edge will not be above 50% against us.

I think Op has brought a sensible topic. If there is a way that casinos can disclose games programmed by their team and outsourced games or third party games that will be nice because I will feel playing through a third party interphase could give me a more guarantee of provably fair.
