I guess what he is trying to say is that US was trying to enter Syria and Putin won't let them Undecided

Syria is just the tip of the iceberg.... The list is too long and includes Ukraine and many other Eastern European nations.
21502  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Revolution in Ukraine. Please donate to Ukrainian people on: February 05, 2014, 11:44:52 AM
Maybe you thought about Stalin ? Putin is not a mass murderer.
Not a mass murdered, but definitely a selective murderer.
Basically anyone who tries to oppose him gets killed, AFAIK.

As I have stated earlier.... Putin is no saint. But what Putin does openly... is done by the European / American governments in complete secrecy. I have lost the count of foreign rulers poisoned / murdered by the CIA and MI6.

Don't waste your BTC on altcoins. There is a risk that you may lose all your money.
21504  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Revolution in Ukraine. Please donate to Ukrainian people on: February 05, 2014, 09:58:32 AM
All they want is freedom.

The alternative is being under a Putin-supported dictator, who kills journalist, political oppositors, protesters...

They already have freedom. And they are asking the EU to take away their freedom in exchange for work visas.

Maybe Putin is a dictator... but Russia has prospered under him.

Can Mt Gox users withdrew their money in the form of BTC? I think only the fiat withdrawals are on hold.

Really, how much less?

WU charges around 10%. So the gain (difference) will be 9% to 9.5% depending upon the BTC processor.
21507  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Revolution in Ukraine. Please donate to Ukrainian people on: February 05, 2014, 09:53:41 AM
The problem is also in western Ukraine there are people who have nothing to do with these protesters.
they have no other ethnic or language that you can easily share the country in two parts.
would this happen you leave these people in western Ukraine to the devil in person.

the number of demonstrators in Kiev is about 20,000 +people throughout the whole country togheter are not more than 100,000.
but ukraine have 50 milion inhabitants so why divide the country because of some psychopaths.

Hmm.. that's true. In provinces such as Zakarpatya and Chernivtsi, more than one-third of the voters supported Yanukovych during the last elections, especially the ethnic minorities (Hungarians, Ruthenians and Romanians in Zakarpattya, Moldvins in Chernivtsi).

The US / EU are considering sanctions and embargoes against Ukraine. The economy is already in bad state. If something like that happens, then Yanukovych will be forced to step down.

Although btc-e has been around for awhile now,  I would never trust an exchange that doesn't reveal who they are.  Give money to strangers who refuse to be open about their business or identity at your own risk.

I trust them much more than those Mt Gox and Bitstamp guys. I never had any problem with BTC-E.

Annual remittances from the US to Mexico amounts in 10s of billions of $$$. Even if just 1% is done using BTC, the value can skyrocket.
21511  Other / Off-topic / Re: Girls Gone Bitcoin Miss Colorado lost title after being paid 10BTC for porn on: February 05, 2014, 09:06:58 AM

I'd say that 10K was a bit overpriced. Normal porn stars get paid $1,000 - 2,000 per video.
21512  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Revolution in Ukraine. Please donate to Ukrainian people on: February 05, 2014, 09:05:04 AM
The pro-EU ukraininians are people whit personality disorders. They have to make a therapy.

As I have already stated... the only solution is to divide the country in to two.
21513  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Israel on: February 05, 2014, 08:17:50 AM
I don't support Israel... but I don't support Hamas either. And I will have to state that Israel is less dangerous when compared to Hamas or Hizbollah.

1 BTC for all!

USD 800 for premium real estate worth at least 500 times that amount?
21518  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin: Revolution Or Trap? on: February 05, 2014, 08:09:28 AM
The real revolution will come from disbanding all forms of money together.  Money facilitates greed and our actions should be measured not by the wealth they accumulate but by the impact they leave on humanity.

Be practical. Without money, the society cannot function. Barter is not fail-proof.

This is a fallacy.  Money does not make the world go round, we do.  Why couldn't we live in the exact same manner as we do today without money?  Sure, we would have to abandon business models and systems that are obsolete, but this would only leave a larger workforce to contribute directly to man kind.

We would be multitudes more efficient if we did not think what can we do to make the most money but what can we do to help the most people.  Bartering isn't even necessary, everyone can contribute through volunteerism, we would be trading energy rather than material goods.  This is the only true path to complete freedom and world peace.

If there is no money, then:

1. How will you store or stockpile your reserves (for hard times, such as drought or famine) ?
2. If barter is not available, then how you will purchase the things you need?
3. How will you pay your taxes?
21519  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-04] EE Times: Bitcoin CPUs Coming, Says Investor on: February 05, 2014, 08:05:57 AM
Marc Andreessen co-founder and principal of Andreessen Horowitz vs. Thomas Sohmers, a 17-year-old wiz kid and chief executive of a high-performance server startup?

My bet is on Andreessen.

21520  Bitcoin / Press / Re: BTC-e Downplays Concerns of New Russian Criminal Investigation on: February 05, 2014, 08:03:51 AM
Am I the only one who thinks the Russian gov is possibly serious about what they said? Sochi Olympics is upcoming and they may be genuinely worried that Bitcoin will be used to finance terrorist organizations planning to create some havocs.

Most of the terrorist activities in Russia are funded by the Saudi Arabian Royal Family. They don't need Bitcoins to do that. There are better options available.
