Do you have libcurl-dev installed?

Which linux are you running btw?

2162  Economy / Services / Re: [BOUNTY] Compiling coins: small errors when daemon compiling on linux vps on: December 09, 2015, 01:41:52 AM
Do you have a more verbose error log then?  :-)

Me?  No.  I'm not the OP.  That's the same thing I was asking of the OP.  (Maybe you were just emphasizing?)

That was to OP.  I had just cut out all the replies between the two of us.  :-)

If you have the 0.8.5 beta blockchain, it should be fine.

Definitely think about 0.10.3 though if you can.  At some point you'll want to do so.
2165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-Qt on: December 08, 2015, 03:46:45 PM
0.10.3 should work out of the box.

But, I would at least go to 0.8.6 since it had some specific OS X fixes, iirc.

2166  Economy / Services / Re: [BOUNTY] Compiling coins: small errors when daemon compiling on linux vps on: December 08, 2015, 03:44:11 PM
can you post the github links for the coins that dont compile?
there's quite a few

im trying to compile a few daemons for some testing purposes, i have run into these errors with certain coins i want to compile:

make: *** [obj/init.o] Error 1
make: *** [obj/net.o] Error 1
make: *** [obj/key.o] Error 1
make: *** [obj/wallet.o] Error 1
make: *** [obj/addressmap.o] Error 1
make: *** [obj/alert.o] Error 1
make: *** [obj/main.o] Error 1
make: *** [version.cpp.o] Error 1

All similar errors, I'm willing to pay .0025BTC bounty for a simple solution or command to run to fix this, and let the daemons compile normally.
Mostly 'mkdir obj' did the trick, but in this case it seems it is a file that is missing, not a directory.
Could one just copy from another coin into the appropriate location, and try compiling again? edit- tried that, didn't work

Post your address with your response, if it works will send you .0025 and will provide txid on this thread

Is your obj directory in your src directory?  (Where is your make file?)

this only works if the obj directory is whats missing, but in this case i am pretty sure it is the file. doing 'mkdir obj' does not fix these errors...
tried everything, i am sure it's file related

Yes, but did you do the mkdir obj inside the source directory?
Where is the make file?

what is the latest version of Bitcoin-Qt that will work with Mac OS X 10.6.8 (snow leopard)?
I have v0.8.5 beta installed, I tried to update to 0.11 but it won't run on my mac.

0.10.x was supposed to support 10.6, but I haven't tried it to verify that it does.

After 0.10.x (e.g. into the 0.11.x and higher) OS X 10.6.x support was to be dropped.

edit:

see this:

0.10.3 is here:

2169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 0065 on: December 08, 2015, 03:12:15 PM
It's now been activated at >75% penetration so now for someone to send the first transaction using it...

I'm eagerly awaiting the use of this for the first cross-blockchain transaction between bitcoin and an altcoin.  Should be pretty momentous if it sets the standard for decentralised trade without using exchanges.

This is a good step forward.  With this and a few other BIPs in progress, the number of use cases will increase dramatically.
2170  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Would bitcoins cease to function if the internet were destroyed. on: December 08, 2015, 02:17:48 AM
It could stil work, the question is what exactly do you mean with internet and how it would be destoryed.

This.  You have to define "cease to function" and "destroyed".

For example, if the internet were destroyed, that would not necessarily mean bitcoin would cease to function.  Shorena and I could connect via Wifi and keep it going.  Ditto other people.  The blockchain would still exist, as more people joined our ad hoc network, it would spin back up.

Imagine the fork mess once all the local blockchains (e.g. city wide wifi based mesh networks for a few weeks) get reunited.

It would be a mess, but it would survive.

Although a scenario that destroys the internet, could cause many more problems that just bitcoin issues.

2171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Downloading Bitcoin Blockchain on: December 07, 2015, 08:52:24 PM
Downloading the torrent with the current client is slower than just letting it sync normally.

Are you using the current version?  Is it connected to the bitcoin network?
2172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: They have stolen bitcoins from my official Bitcoin wallet on: December 07, 2015, 07:09:06 PM

Oh thanks, I see it now. Not that knowing the this is going to be enough.

Agreed.  Somehow, someone got the private keys and took control of them.  Hard to get them back.
2173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: They have stolen bitcoins from my official Bitcoin wallet on: December 07, 2015, 06:42:15 PM
With Bitcoin you are the boss! That not only means you are in charge, but that you must work. Bitcoin security is no better than your security. If used correctly it is miles above the bank's security system. However if you do not protect your private key then no other methods matter.

I don't know how this happened to you, but someone must have gotten that key. Consider who else has access to your computer. Think about where you store your private key. This breach may not involve malware at all. Also, Think about a more secure OS like Linux.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
Look at the picture from my 2nd wallet:
http://tinypic.com/r/ddsw0/9
There is no address in transaction. The label "недоступно" means "no acsess"
It seems it's pretty strange
No information about the transaction? That is strange. You did a lot of things right, using the long password with no words. That rules out guessing your password. You are using good anti-malware. That makes malware a little less likely.
If you wrote the password in a document or on a slip of paper you may want to check the security on that document. It may also be worth asking yourself "who else knows I have bitcoins and has access to this computer"?
What a bummer. Can blockchain.info give you a Tx ID? That may give some more information.

I think it was this in the first message:

How accept, send and verify payment by php via blockchain or xapo?

I creating game, please help me..

Thanks!

This seems off-topic here.

You should ask xapo in their area.  As far as "blockchain", assuming you mean "blockchain.info" you should ask in their sub-forum.
2175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: They have stolen bitcoins from my official Bitcoin wallet on: December 07, 2015, 03:59:26 PM
...
I've made clean installation of Windows 2-3 times since I've entered the passwords last time.
I hope the  investigation of this case can improve the Bitcoin world and can prevent such incidents in future

The isn't a bitcoin issue, this is a computer security issue.  If you can't secure the computer, nothing that the bitcoin developers do will help stop it.

If you can't secure Windows, use Linux or OS X or any number of other OSs.  And use them ONLY offline.  Or use a paper wallet.  Or a hardware wallet.

Sorry for the loss.

2177  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: CoinURL -> Bitcoin Core not received on: December 06, 2015, 03:31:15 AM
So it's going to take 2years for it to syncronize for me? I'm new to using Core, thought it would be more secure and better then a webased one  Undecided
No. It just means that the latest block it has is 2 years old. It will sync faster than that. It will take a few days at most. Usually the sync takes several hours.

Oh wow  Embarrassed

If you know the address it was sent to, you can check it with a block explorer (like the two above) and make sure it was received. When Core catches up, you should see it there too.
2178  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: CoinURL -> Bitcoin Core not received on: December 06, 2015, 01:51:33 AM
Do you have a transaction ID?

You probably will want to contact CoinURL if not.

Well, it does show on my transaction history yeah

If you have the bitcoin transaction ID, you can see what is going on using a site like:
http://blockr.io
or
http://blockchain.info

Then you can see if it is waiting to be confirmed etc.  You can safely share the transaction ID UNLESS you care whether people know what you were paid out from CoinURL.

2180  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Problems with blockchain api on: December 05, 2015, 01:10:15 AM
Are you talking about the blockchain.info api? If so, you might want to ask them about the issues.  They have been unreliable.

Since you are asking in the Bitcoin core section, that is probably a robust solution but would require some coding depending on what your requirements are.
