I'd say that there is a net positive gain from China. Before the China spike, BTC was at $300-400 levels. After the China spike, it is now stabilizing at $800-850 levels. So we gained a lot from the Chinese spike.

I don't have a craze for luxury / sports cars. If BTC reaches $10K, then I'll buy a Toyota Corolla. I'd have bought a Tesla S, but it is too expensive for me at this point of time.

200 packs for $40? isn't that dirt cheap? or do you mean 10 packs (a carton) for $40?
Oh... sorry for that. Messed it up. 20 cigarettes per pack*10 packs="200-pack" It's a different dialect than you're used to.
Thanks for correcting me. The point is that he got 200 cigarettes for $360 (at current prices). Anyway just wanted to show the real financial burden of smoking. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Depends on the circumstances. He could still be brought out of the coma and then nothing, but hopefully that wont happen.
OK. I don't know much about medical terms and all that. I just wish him a speedy recovery.

BTC 0.0001 = Gox
We need a easy, simple and short name. And Gox suits it. Also, we need to remember that Mt Gox was the first major BTC exchange.

I have been hearing a lot of positive news from Australia, which is related to Bitcoin recently. Will be extremely happy if the Reserve Bank of Australia takes steps to regulate Bitcoin.

I am worried. Income tax in India is quite steep. The topmost bracket (> $45,000 p.y) pays around 37% of the income as tax.
I don't know how they will calculate the income from mining. The profit margin for Bitcoin mining is like -700% or so.

It will get some press though, which is often all a coin needs.
But this publicity will not benefit Bitcoin, as he is creating another altcoin which has nothing to do with the original. ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif)

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/kanye-west-getting-bitcoin-esque-668324First it was Bitcoin. Then came Dogecoin. Now, a group of Internet denizens are creating a new form of e-currency -- and it's got that New God Flow. As Noisey reports, a new cryptocurrency named after Kanye West is about to hit the marketplace. Deemed Coinye West, the currency is supposed to become available Jan. 11. Now, who want to collect altcoins named after a lowlife? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

http://motherboard.vice.com/blog/making-your-own-cryptocurrency-has-never-been-easierThis fall, Bitcoin became the toast of the Beltway. Far from its cryptoanarchist origins, US Senators, encouraged by Bitcoin investment and currency speculation, praised the fledgling cryptocurrency as a technological breakthrough. Everyday 2-3 new altcoins are being created, which is in fact diluting the Bitcoin. Can't we just ban these new copycats?

The poll could have been a bit more refined. We all know that the vast majority of the Bitcoiners are libertarians. So dividing Libertarians further would have been a good idea. Some new options could have been added, such as Anarcho-Libertarians. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Anyways, I've contacted Bond and the guy I spoke to didn't really seem to know what bitcoin was but said he'd forward me more information as he gets it. I'd probably be interested in coming to NYC for the summer if Bond has reasonable fees. Hmm... they are still finalizing the paper-works and all. It might take 2-3 months for them to start accepting BTC. And tax issues can be quite complex with Bitcoin. ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif)

Wow... this is a first. Earlier we had candidates accepting BTC for their campaigns, but they were the ones who had little chances of getting elected. Now, a sitting congressman is accepting BTC. That's great news!

This is roughly my line of thinking also. I believe we will see another spike Feb/March, and a settling around ~$1500 for the a while after that. Until something major happens...
Do you have any reasons to think that there will be a spike in Feb / March? I think that BTC will be stable at current levels for sometime, before moving to 2,000+ in the next spike. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

If one day is hot and the other day it is cold as hell, those are definite proofs of human made climate change that will make Earth no longer proper for life in about 50 years, more or less.
The Chinese are secretly building something similar in the movie for the Koch Brothers, but it will be on the Moon. Doubling as a Mega Space Villa/Helium 3 Factory.
Who knows? May be in 50 years, technology will become so advanced that humans may be able to live in very high temperatures as well. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Ban Ki-Moon is also the secretary general of the United Nations. He represents all the countries in the world. Where are your sources that Tymoshenko is corupt? I don't care what he is. He is still biased. Here is one: http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/politics/Ukraine_seeks_Tymoshenko_funds.html?cid=37361918It's not only the Cypriots who are getting their money taken away, but everyone holding fiat. Besides, Cyprus was bankrupt, should they have let the banks collapse so that everyone lost all their money? The Cypriot crisis was solely caused by useless EU regulations. Facepalm. Legalizing things is a good thing. In those cases where they are doing that they are doing the people of the EU a favor and saving them from being done over by their own governments. This is what I exactly meant. If 90% of the population from a particular country doesn't want a particular law, then the EU has no right to impose it on them. No matter whether you think it will be a good thing or a bad thing. It is up for the citizens of a nations to decide it. You have no voice there. Period.

When it comes to bigger picture issues like these, people struggle to see. Perhaps someone should make a documentary showing the harsher side the porn industry.
I like your post, insightful, to the point, good work.
What is the matter with your username? Are you really a priest? There are hundreds of documentaries made by ultra-conservative Christians against porn. Go and watch them. And don't watch porn if you don't want. But what other people want to watch, it is solely their choice. Don't needlessly interfere in other people's private lives. Sometimes, it can result in retaliations.

Some bryant.coleman says here that Russia is having the largest number of nuclear weapons in the world which make the best intercontinental ballistic missiles out there as well as the best air-defense systems in the world... Do you really think I would rather believe you after you faked the Chinese landing on the Moon? Yes. I said that and I stand by firmly over what I said. Russia is another game altogether. China and Japan can't match Russia. China has manpower, Japan has technology. Russia has both.

For anyone needing BTC-e support tickets answered, you need to go to the BTC-e's main thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40889.0;topicseen...State your case and list any support tickets..After weeks of emailing them and unanswered support tickets, I got a resolution to my deposit issues (same as above)with no problem. They appear to be swamped, and have little/no customer service support team except for here. Thanks for posting this. At least the support is watching this thread. If they are overwhelmed, then there is no use in getting angry with them.

You obviously seem to be stuck with that "useless hardware and Russian aircraft carrier". Hey, wake up already, China is on the Moon already with their "inferior" technology, not Japan with its "best" technology. Why are you so deep in denial? One warhead blown over Tokyo would send all the Japanese tech superiority to dust and ashes...
Yes. China put some unmanned vehicle in the moon. So what? The US had achieved that four decades ago. Do you have any idea how many aircraft carriers which currently serves under the Japanese navy?
