Looks like Bittrex is up and running again.  Wink Just sent some coins to test and they appeared as pending within 30 seconds.

I find it funny then peeps panic on price drop. Indicates that they bought in too high and with a money which they can not afford to lose.
Most probably will take losses anyway and strong whales will get richer day by day.
 Cheesy

funny to lose alot of money yes?  Huh Huh

Yes. I find it funny that some people are so stupid that they invest money they can not afford to lose in to something what they have no idea of. And later crying that price goes down.
Those people are better off making an interest account in some bank and earning ~5% per year.

Im currently -30% and -6 BTC with Cinny. Do you see me moaning? No. Because i know that this coin will easily go up on longer term.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [DIG] DIGIT | Unique & Transparent | Fair PoW & Dynamic PoS | on: June 16, 2014, 08:09:48 PM
What a disgrace, I should've sold my DIG when I had the chance  Cry

Whats your problem? Cant send coins to bittrex? Dont be so impatient Give them time. They have lots of coins to handle.

Not only that, but my wallet won't synch again.

Too many nodes have not updated their wallet yet and they caused a fork and new wallets to jump between those non updated nodes.
Give it a few days rest until old nodes are banned from the network.
Its the same thing with all coins, which are not very popular. People forget to check the new information even if its been more than a week since dev said that hard fork is incoming.

You can also launch with:

digit-qt.exe -reindex

This will reindex your blockchain, but it will still connect to old nodes too until they all get banned.
digit.suprnova.cc is nicely on the correct chain. So if you want to mine, then mine on that pool.

How is demand determined by the protocol ?

Guys/Girls, the dev has answered most of your questions in the OP and in FAQ. This has been answered many times in this thread as well.
Demand is determined by the market price. Its a chain reaction which results in increased difficulty and therefor ends up with a higher block reward and more new coins created in order to ease the demand.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [DIG] DIGIT | Unique & Transparent | Fair PoW & Dynamic PoS | on: June 15, 2014, 09:58:58 PM
hi,

i was download new digit wallet and delete everything except Digit.conf and wallet.dat filesbut now after sync, all mined are conflicted .....and total coin are unconfirmed...after few days

thx a lot for helping..

All coins mined on wrong fork are obviously conflicted and lost. All coins staked on wrong fork will be staked again on the right fork, so you will not lose the interest coins.

I believe this is the correct blockchain right now?

It'd sure be nice if we had an official blockchain explorer Wink

thanks

Yes, looks like you are on the right chain.

Soon network will ban those old wallet IPs as peers. So only updated wallets stay connected.

I just sent 5K DIG to Bittrex and they appeared as pending in 30 seconds. So Bittrex is definately on the correct fork.

I have not sent anything to bittrex in last 2 days, but my wallet is working just fine.

So, an increase in network hash results in higher block rewards? How does that help the value of this coin? Miners will just swoop, dump into the buy orders and destroy all support. People are sick of lining the pockets of miners who have no regard for a coin's prospects. What counters the inevitable miner dumps?

You are totally missing the point of this coin. The value of this coin is designed to be more stable over long time period, not jump up and down like other coins.
Ofc price will be volatile for probably 3 to 6 monts, but will likely stabilize later.

The whole point of the one good currency is to be as stable as possible in long term period. This coin aims exactly that goal.
If there will be high demand then it results as price going higher, which results in miners switching to Digit and selling mined coins for profit, which results in more supply and semand will ease.

There is still profit to be made with this coin. Profit will come from mining when demand rises and from holding (interest) when demand is low.

Coin amount can shrink or expand based on the demand for the coin, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

That  is correct.
Anyone who needs an explanation, read the OP and FAQ.

Good to see that Digit is getting more and more attention now. One of the very few coins which deserves it in my opinion.
Almost 20btc volume is not bad either. Id prefer slower growth in price, so more people can buy when price is low. Better distribution is always positive for coin.

how many coins will be available and how many are currently in circulation?

You can do console getinfo for coins in circulation and read the OP about total coins.
Digit is quite unique with its POW distribution.

The way towards success in extremely volatile crypto markets.

1. Do your own research.
2. Never invest the money, which you can not afford to lose.
3. Never sell with a loss.

Easy.

agree with 1 and 2, but never sell with a loss? sometimes good to cut your losses if coin keeps going down

No, you don't. If you need to sell with a loss then you failed in points 1 and 2.
You'd never sell with a loss because crypto markets go up and down on daily basis.
Sometimes it happens that coin just dies off. Thats your loss. But even then you need to hold. Simply do not sell with a loss. Never.

I guess i need to put one obvious point here.

4. Spread the risk. Never invest only in a single coin.

Nope, u are wrong. Never sell with losses works NOT FOR ALL. This is good point for big investors. For average/middle level traders (<=50btc) this may harm your investment. For instant, me. I have never panic sold. Do u remember hidden premine in AC? I lost 6btc. Yeap, you can call that *force majeure*, BUT i have had enough chances to rid off that crap before failure and after revival but i didn't. I saw essential signs of rise after it was relisted but i neglected the perceived risks. FLT, KDC, NOBLE, TES, RTC all profits i've never took but bunch of small losses as i am not a panic seller. Each time when i was dumping my profits at peak i made some nice money but - in another case too much times i rebought at as though steady floor at positive news and then that floor was unsparingly dumped. Dumped to the bottoms where i was sitting for weeks in hope for reverse trend. And again. I sold 1/3 at 21 and rebought at 18 but look where its at? That's the case. I am now sitting at bag as i don't want to sell with losses. Average peeps WAS ARE and WILL be selling with losses as it allows them to move funds and cover the losses probably faster than if they are fully in downward trend waiting for miracles.

Looks like you failed at point 1 and 2. You bought too late and from too high.
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [DIG] DIGIT X13 | Unique and Transparent! | Dig In! | on: June 14, 2014, 11:47:54 AM

Here's a teaser of the upcoming Digit Wallet.
This version of our wallet will be optional as both this and the classical wallet are kept up to date.

Credit goes to CinniCoin developers as our new wallet is based on their project.

Additional options of the new wallet are:

- irc chatbox
- option to send encrypted messages
- option to send anonymous messages

We are searching for a programmer to join our development team. Please contact us through our website or send a PM to DSF.

Wow. Im already holding lots of cinni and digit. You guys are honest and professional. Those two charecteristics are rare with a recent boom of all the crapcoins.

Well done!
