221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who uses myetherwallet? on: November 12, 2017, 09:17:30 PM
I am using MyEtherWallet.com and it's a great online wallet if you are careful about your private keys. Just make sure your private keys and password are stored secured. Bookmark MEW and never click on Google paid ads, always use URL from bookmark manager, check URL padlock before entering your details for the valid certificate.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin all over London underground on: November 10, 2017, 05:35:12 PM
I came back to London after being away for a while and noticed something is different. Now there is all kinds of bitcoin (and ethereum) commersials all over the place, trying to sell people crypto investment services. I've always been told that if investing becomes so popular that it is discussed in the pubs you should sell. This makes me kind of worried. What do you think?

I don't think bitcoin is being thrown at people's faces just yet, at least not in the United States. I'm not sure the "London Underground" qualifies as mainstream. In any case, bitcoin carries some risk just as all emerging technologies do. By diversifying, the impact of its volatility will be minimized.

Pushups44 maybe few investment companies that follow closely market and watch Bitcoin decided to gain more clients using Bitcoin as a tool? I am confident this is because of a recent huge price increase after China try to shake off BTC value from 4K to 3K Bitcoin and BTC quickly price increased again and pass first time 5, 6 and 7.000$ mark? These investment companies may try use this fact and lure clients to invest in Bitcoin. I know about that because one of my colleagues from work point me to one of this companies and he asked me to invest.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] [VIB] Viberate | Decentralized Music Talent Marketplace on: November 10, 2017, 04:18:54 PM

Congratulations Viberate Team! That was a nice surprise for me getting listed on Bittrex that quickly, and there was a nice pump in the last 24h, VIB is full of positive surprises so far. I just accumulated a little more coins before we see slight increase in VIB price.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is IT MY ETHERWALLET.COM safe? on: November 10, 2017, 01:29:46 PM
I was always wondering  what  could  happen if  myetherwallet.com  website get hacked... so it's   better  to have the coins on  a   desktop wallet,  instead of  a  web wallet?
It's   a  question because  I a  little bit  afraid  of  web based  wallets

MyEtherWallet.com is safe as long as you keep your private keys and passwords for wallets in a safe place (off-line, encrypted in separated files with a strong password or store private keys on hardware wallet like Ledger Nano S) Remember you can always check your Token balance in blockchain explorer, no need to login to MyEtherWallet. Keep your Tokens in few wallets, use one for transactions, and other for store your crypto. Remember to bookmark MyEterWallet.com and always check address bar for a certificate (padlock) never open any links to MEW from chats, forum or private message especially Slack - so many fake forks there, and you will be on safe side. VeraCrypt is highly recommended for storing your private keys and passwords, not in WordPad.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: November 10, 2017, 09:33:02 AM
I was always very confident about SONM project and still, I am. This is one of this startups you can stop worrying go to bed and check next day without worrying something can happen.  Devs are active on social media and GitHub. SONM is heading right direction and roadmap is without delays. What else can you ask? We all know is a long-term investment, and we don't need to worry what will happen tomorrow. I can't say the same thing about MTH.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading or ICO on: November 10, 2017, 07:10:30 AM
Investing in ICO's can be more difficult than trading in my opinion. If you want you can open demo account and try trade crypto on dummy account but it's not the same - there is no emotions involved and believe me your decision can be influenced by emotions when price drops. Because you are newbie I will not recommend day trading for you, and I will not recommend buy Initial Coin Offering - it requires skills and knowledge, experience and patience.
ICO is basically investing in StartUp, things can gowrong at any stage from the beginning.

If you really must decide, try research about ICO's from first top 25 from coinmarketcap.com Make sure read their ANN thread, visit website, watch reviews on YouTube, Search videos witch Ian Balina on YT and watch them all. Make sure to read a road map, white paper, check Reddit what other users say, join Telegram. Some ICO's can take 2-3 years from day one before Tokens are highly profitable. If you don't know which one project to start?
research: Golem and SONM. Both are direct competitors but SONM is younger Project and price is still very attractive - around ICO offer.

If I was you I wi buy Bitcoin 90% and 10% in ICO
max and start learn from there.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do any ICOs refund your money? on: November 09, 2017, 09:12:16 PM
I want to invest in an ICO yet want to invest in something that can refund me in case I need to pull out the money for an emergency. Know any companies that honor that?

Finding ICO project that can refund your investment can be tough, but what you can do is research and find already complete ICO stage project and buy Tokens from the exchange. If you need your invested money back you can always sell Tokens on the exchange, and withdraw Bitcoins in ATM.

Recent ICO's proved that waiting a couple of weeks after Tokens are distributed and available on the exchange can be more profitable that participating in ICO (that should be theoretically cheaper). Each project is different, buying in exchange is less risky and still can be profitable for long-term investment. There is some ICO's out there that was SCAM and investors never received their Tokens.

Good advice is diverse your investment for example 60% investment in BTC and 40% in other alts/tokens.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2X Cancelled on: November 09, 2017, 03:24:33 PM
it is strange that now when Segwit2x is cancelled price of bitcoin is still holding on, or it is just matter of time when it will sink back at 6000 or so?
something strange any suggestions

Bitcoin price may not drop immediately, remember China bad news? It took some time before the drop down, in this situation is up to the majority of investors what they decide, if the sell BTC and start buying alt coins/tokens - other crypto value will increase and thats what it looks like, my portofilio value rose 24.5% in  24h (alts) time will tell, no one can predict but it looks like Bitcoin value will drop to 6800 more likely.
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How could it be? on: November 09, 2017, 12:04:00 PM
According to news "300$ million worth of crypto currencies permanently lost due to bug"
What is you opinion about it?

https://amp.theguardian.com/technology/2017/nov/08/cryptocurrency-300m-dollars-stolen-bug-ether

Is this really a fact? So many fake news now are spreading on internet nowadays. But if this is true I guess that it will take effect on ethereum price. But I hope it doesn't! it's now being second of the most valuable cryptocurrency so I hope it won't happened again, I really hated hackers! Angry

This can be true, I am not sure about value 300$ Million - but I read about Parity dev. that accidentally mess with multi-signature wallets and locked funds. Funds are frozen for now until the solution is found to fix this problem.

I think this Dev. will also be demoted, and work for parity without access wallets and blockchain for sure.

230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] ETHBOOKS - The World's 1st Crypto-Centric e-Book Store on: November 09, 2017, 09:52:01 AM
I was watching this project closely and I really surprised it turned out to be a SCAM. Don't be shy and say this loud they SCAM - now it's a fact. I read about ETHBooks problems in a different thread and check this thread to make sure is true. I wanted invest after ethbook hits Exchanges and price stabilise but it turns out it's finished before that.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rise of the Alts! on: November 09, 2017, 06:05:30 AM
I am happy to see my alts start recovering. It was the perfect time to accumulate before the price rise. Let's HOLD and watch nice rise in our portfolio.

I think the biggest lose in value was Monetha from recent ICO's from $0.35 to $0.05. BlackMoonCrypto with "buy back reserve" has reached its limit 28.000+ ETH and now drop down from 0.8$ to 0.4$ I am curious what will happen now with BMC price, when re-buy support stop working.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [Pre-ICO] TRUCKCOIN: For the fastest decentralized global market on: November 08, 2017, 12:55:10 PM
Will TRKC be traded on any floor?

Yes, we are currently following up on 3 exchanges and should be listed in at least one by the end of this week. We will keep you posted. Meanwhile feel free to visit our social media pages and give us your thoughts. Thanks.

That's a great news. Looking forward to knowing which exchange will start trading TRKC soon.

Please consider creating Telegram as the main channel for the community, Slack have too much spam going on.
233  Economy / Economics / Re: Where will BTC be 10 years from now? on: November 07, 2017, 11:43:27 PM
If Banks does not decide take down Bitcoin because is their direct competitor and threat, Bitcoin can reach $ 75.000 mark. I can't think at this moment it could go higher. I heard from few people that are investors on the stock market that if BTC grows too big Banks will do something about it. I find this hard to believe.
234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Got hacked and robbed. My mistake for keeping coins on exchange on: November 07, 2017, 10:36:05 PM
My coinbase got hacked today. I got a message on my phone saying that my password had changed. I attempted to follow instructions to stop it, but by the time I had, it was too late and the theif emptied out my hot wallet. The only saving grace was that coinbase has vaults which give 48 hour delay. I wish that I would have transferred more coins to the vault as they were protected. Coinbase has some serious vulnerabilities, but whoever the thief was was able to login from my IP and was able to login to my email despite the fact that I had just changed my password. Be careful out there. Cold wallet your coins.

Sorry to hear bad news like this. I don't understand why you didn't enable 2-factor authentication? You should enable on any website that supports it for example (Amazon, NiceHash, LocalBitcoins, Gmail and all exchanges that support 2FA) Ebay don't have 2FA but if they do I will enable too.

Next time you will know, it's not safe to keep BTC or ETH or any other crypto on exchange, one day even most trusted exchange can be in troubles (like BTC-e)

We all make mistakes, and it doesn't matter if you the newbie or experienced user. I was in hurry and transferred eth to another exchange into other Token address, theoretically, I lost my Etereum but I contacted this exchange and after mentioning I will leave negative feedback on forum and Trust Review website I had another reply from Tech support that they will check for me and get them back, exchange fixed this for me, even they state Tokes send to wrong address are lost.
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Risk and the worst thing be a Bounty Hunter ? on: November 07, 2017, 06:31:14 PM
Not getting paid is worst can happen, this was the reason I have changed my last job... I didn't get paid on time constantly and my boss failed to pay my last 4 weeks, I remember one question on my Interview after that... "so why do you want to change a place of work and start working for us?" that was the easiest question in my life on Interview to answer.

Participating in Bounty program will be always risky because you start support almost always new project/startup and you don't know it is genuine or scam.
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where to keep Bitcoin at the safe place ? on: November 07, 2017, 03:12:43 PM
I can recommend you hardware wallet if don't mind spent money for hardware wallet. Two most popular on the market are Trezor and Ledger Nano S. Both have small display that is an extra layer of security when you send bitcoins (creating transaction) There is malware designed to swap your destination wallet address from clipboard memory with another address so if you do not pay attention you will send your bitcoins to different address and lose your money. Have a look on youtube there are some reviews both for Trezon and Nano S wallets.

Trezor:

237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of Increasingly Sophisticated Malware Infection Attempts on: November 07, 2017, 03:29:26 AM
There is new Trojan Malware that has been recently discovered that steals crypto from your wallet replacing destination address from clipboard memory. Targeted currencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monreo and Dash. So far 140.000$ was stolen from users wallets.
Always double check your destination address comparing before sending.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you invest in ICOs? on: November 07, 2017, 12:17:32 AM
I invested in a couple of ICO's because I can take that risk if something goes wrong I lose my investment and on other side, rewards can be much bigger than if you invest in already established coins/tokens. Startup companies use ICO to raise capital to start, and there is a risk many things can go wrong and also there will be few projects aimed at fraud because initial coin offering is not regulated by law.
239  Economy / Economics / Re: Can you really make money on Forex? on: November 06, 2017, 10:17:33 PM
Anyone tried or currently trading forex is it possible to make money on it?

I didn't try Forex but I heard a lot of good and bad about it. I have a friend that is active on Forex and invest, he is happy but never disclosure how much he earns, no details but for sure he is making some money otherwise we will quit his full-time job.
Negative is a lot of people says you can lose money rather than gain, it's very difficult and Forex is manipulated market.

Personally, I think Forex is for an experienced trader that work full time, and they know what they doing. I never invested in Forex.
I prefer spending money on crypto - Bitcoin, Ethereum & new ICO's.
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New month - new ICO on: November 06, 2017, 07:22:49 PM
I always try to focus on one projects per some time. I think quality is more important than quantity, so I prefer to find one ICO per one or two months.
In November i choose Confideal, and plant to invest some money in it.  I hope you know enough about this project, or at least read about it.

And now i need to find new project and start my investigation about it. So I ask you advice, what ico will start in December and in your opinion looks good?

Btw my research about Confideal I made during almost one month.

UTrust looks promising and ICO is Live now. A direct competitor to Monetha, PayPal and BitPay. Total Token Supply is 1 Billion, but unsold Tokens will be burned. Their community is very active here on Forum. I will say watch closely and if you see their progress is good - buy.
I am in ICO too, but will diverse portfolio with Bitcoin to balance my investments.
