224  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: August 25, 2014, 01:15:37 AM
Ok this is crazy. How the hell do I even get into the web UI?

Go to the IP address in the browser which is posted on the side of the miner.

That was the first thing I did. Didn't get a web interface. I'm juts going to hook up via hdmi and see what it says.

Right now I'm wasting power and killing my hearing to try and set this up.

A also received a miner with no PSU, there were also wires unplugged. I don't want to open the case and start messing around with it, what if taking the cards out doesn't work, what if a connector breaks? I am not shipping this thing for support to Europe or China. There is no way you can say I received a miner, because I didn't. I received an incomplete kit of parts.  From what it looks like, there is not enough room to fit a PSU, this miner is also defective and the defect is probably the reason why they did not send a PSU, because it wouldn't fit in the miner!

This will not fit with my PSU, can't get the plug in for the miner to rest in the spot the've provided for it. There isn't a reason I shouldn't have received a fully assembled miner. It's what I paid for I thought.

Ok so I've did some power supply switching and I"m going to get this up and running. Thanks for the heads up about the number being taped there should save me some hassle.

I would never want to void the miner, by breaking any clauses in the terms of sale.

Speaking of the terms of sale,

"AMT warrants that its Product(s) will, at the time of shipment and for a period of ninety days thereafter, be free from defects in components and workmanship. "

I'm pretty sure that the PSU is a component as you specifically list it as one in the terms of sale. The proper installation of the PSU would be workmanship on your part.

I do believe you are in violation of your own terms of sale.

It's ok though because you've given yourself an option.

"Buyer must advise AMT in writing of any claims within the warranty period, obtain AMT’s return authorization, and return the Product(s) to a facility or location directed by AMT. If the Product(s) are not as warranted, AMT shall, at AMT’s option, either refund the purchase price of the Product."

Oddly you only gave your self one option, which is to refund the purchase price of the product. I thought the other option would have been a repair, but I'll take that refund right now please.

Did anyone see what they've posted on the website today?

It's pretty laughable. plus now they are selling the miners we bought at $999 what a great low price especially when they thing they should have charged 6000
233  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMT users thread. on: August 22, 2014, 06:24:18 PM
i feel good knowing that when the world googles AMT miners they will see what scammers they are. want a good laugh? google their name.

I think AMT is a nomadic company, it seems they are currently set up in a foreign land. Hard to tell if they are maintaing a proper address these days.

355 Lancaster, Bldg. E1, Haverford PA 19041 is still on the front page of the website

AMT 430 Johnson Str., flr 2, Suite 202, Jenkintown, PA, 19046 is what is listed for their RMA process so I guess that would be the "new" address.

234  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: August 22, 2014, 01:30:32 PM
Why should I sue? You broke the contract plain and simple. You don't like lawsuits and neither do I. I just think the proper thing for you to do would be to exercise the option you outlined in your TOS. Those are likely what your lawyers are using to save you anyway they can with the lawsuit. I mean that's where I would go, What did they agree to.

My question about installing the PSU is legitimate about voiding the warranty. It deserves a proper response. We can't have everyone voiding their warranty to fix mistakes like loose screws and what nut.

Look I left it alone for a long time and what I got was an incomplete miner, and a good shot at tetanus to show for it.

So will it or will it not void the warranty if we install the power supplies on our own?

A copy of AMT's terms of sale as it appears today 8/22/2014 Please note that they say, ""AMT warrants that its Product(s) will, at the time of shipment and for a period of ninety days thereafter, be free from defects in components and workmanship. "

If you received a minor without power supply then AMT is in violation of the express warranty in their terms of sale.
236  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: August 22, 2014, 07:55:16 AM
Also, your terms of sale read, "AMT’s warranty is only valid if the Product(s) has not been tampered with by the consumer. If the Product(s) casing, components, processing chip, PCB board, Heat sink, power supply, and any/all other physically elements of the product has been opened, altered, tampered with in any manner, the AMT warranty governing the Product(s) will be effectively null and void."

When I receive my power supply how will I install it without voiding the warranty?

AMT_Miners Josh told me he would have someone send me a PSU yesterday. I called FedEx and there is no shipment coming to me. Can you look into this and make sure this is expedited as I'm essentially sitting here with a machine that is DOA.

Hello. The issue with your PSU has been taken care of. Please, let us know when you receive your package.

Great, I'll totally do that, why don't you go ahead and send me a tracking number for the PSU. That way I know exactly where it is. Then I can keep everyone, including you, updated.

Hey All,
One of my two miners are up and hashing. Here is what I've observed so far.
1. FANS:
These things are LOUD. I have 8 dragon miners in the same space, and the 1 AMT miner is louder, but let me explain this. The fans on this thing are ridiculous. There are 3 large fans mounted on the top, and you can feel the air from across the room. These are VERY effective at moving the heat out of my miner. Certainly does a better job of cooling compared to the dragons. Its as if they stuck a box fan in front of the miner, and directed it through the miner.
2. Speed:
This miner hashes as it should. On BTCGuild, I'm seeing about 1.27th. I haven't had a chance to test the miner for a long period of time because I got it today, but I'll update later. Seems to be running fine.

I took the miners side door off to see what's inside, and it seems like it is the same setup as the dragon miners, but with 5 modules instead of 4. the controller board that hooks everything together looks nicer than the dragons, and I like how the raspberry pi is mounted on the same side as the psu connector.

Seems like all of the modules were pretty cramped so they needed to bend the psu connector a bit. Didn't affect anything, but a little bit troubling:

AMT- feel free to use the images for whatever you find necessary.

Let me know if you have any questions, and I am eagerly awaiting my second miner.
And I know that there are going to be "why did you accept a package for a $1,200 miner that cost $6,000," My answer to that is receiving something now is better than nothing. Please don't argue with me as I am simply here to show off the miners and offer the help that I can.
Thanks,
mdiggy
Order #1275

It performing as it should is a good thing Cheesy Good to know. Seems like some people got better experiences than others. No rust on yours for instance and you got a PSU Tongue

Just to clarify there was no rust on the machine itself and from what I can tell the build quality appears to be solid. There were four extra pieces of metal  in my container that were rusted and had potentially dangerous edges. Likely this was to keep the miner's box weighted and it seems to work as the box suffered only minimal damage to one corner. No harm appears to be done to the miner it self as the foam pieces kept it snug as a bug.

I just don't want anyone to open their box and get an accidental surprise cut.

FYI to follow up on my post yesterday. Josh has corrected the shipping issue with my miner shipment. It is in the neighboring county where it was "mislabeled" to a different location, but it has been supposedly routed for delivery today, as I do not have a tracking number at this time I will not be able to confirm whether that status. That being said however, once I receive it I will post a technical review of the hardware based on the hardware merits, not on the saga. anyone wanting to know the history can just refer to the threads on the matter. I will post photos as well to show any conditions. Performance review will come after a 48 hour test on elgius for community review.

I had prepared a format months ago in prep for the original delivery...dusting it off for this. Planning a full unboxing gallery. The review will be as technical and unbiased as it gets. I have opinions on the matter but prefer to keep those out for the sake of at least reviewing the hardware on its merits whatever those may be.

From other PMs I have gotten for assistance, I will also cover that in the review so its a community based instruction manual as there is no official one at this time of writing.

watch out for potentially sharp, rusty hazardous objects. THey may have packed it with used razor blades to add weight.
