221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My Ethereum Was Stolen, Please be careful guys! on: January 30, 2020, 09:19:05 AM
Sorry for what happened but this does not really beling in this board. Maybe you can move it somewhere more apropiate.
In this thread I would advise to remain on-topic (as the title suggests) and try to explain how your funds got stolen.
And open another thread in services to look for quick jobs. I doubt someone will hire you out of pity.
Good luck and sorry again.
222  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to make 3 USD a day? Tips wanted. on: January 28, 2020, 11:49:26 PM
Don't think that people who use crypto give it away for fun.
Just think it's $3. Fiat, crypto... doesn't matter...
What can you do to be worth $3 a day?
You tell us!

224  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Why can I only sign a GPG message with SHA1 hash on: January 28, 2020, 11:18:42 PM
PGP stands for Pretty Good Security. It uses pub/priv keys and encrypts using SHA1. That's what it does. That's the protocol.
Here is a useful link, hope it helps: https://www.movable-type.co.uk/scripts/sha256.html
225  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to make rank-up more difficult on: January 28, 2020, 10:54:37 PM
Just felt a bit too much like pure bragging and nothing more. Guess that got me flamed. I am a imature prick most of the times but that doesn't mean I don't have pertinent opinions from time to time (the frequency of that is debatable).
GL & HF

P.S. I have no shame! Just saw that you were not understanding the message and were too focused on the irony (as you are again). Just tried to rephrase, not apologise.
P.S. Looking forward to your next thread so I can become Member  Wink
226  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to make rank-up more difficult on: January 28, 2020, 09:09:56 PM
So I earned 205 merits in 3-4 months.

Not all humans are equal!
Glad it worked out for you. Congrats again! Just enjoy, keep posting useful stuff and good luck on your road to 1k and beyond. If theymos doesn't start posting soon he will drop on second most merited Smiley) You're on fire dawg!
Now on a serious note, if it ain't broken, don't fix it is the phrase mostly used in coding. Same as some say "not your keys, not your btc". You got your feedback. There is no REAL need to change the ranking system. This forum wants to help people, not create crypto rock stars.
Enough showing off already. Accept it and go on as usual.
Fuck it, it's very easy to become a legendary user here! Use the opportunity then. Be all that you can be!
Saw a thread a while back in Meta asking for more ranks after legendary (I'll add a link if I have time to search).. maybe you can bump that one and at 5k you become "insane in the blockchain" rank... donno... the hard cap is the limit!
227  Other / Meta / Re: Show new replies to your posts. [BUG] or just my ignorance ? [HELP] on: January 28, 2020, 08:46:57 PM
From what I was able to tell in watchlist you have the threads that you manually added using the "watch" button and "new replies to your posts" displays the threads you wrote in that have new posts. Same thread can be in both lists if you added to watchlist and also posted smth
This thread should appear in "show new replies to your posts"... technically it would be there until you open the thread... you get my point Smiley)

Seems Voorhees set up his wallet, gave him about $50 and told him to secure it if he were to hold some significant funds...

@Cnut237 That "Perfect Fish" explication cracked me up Smiley)
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Is More Profitable? YOBIT Project Or ICO Project? on: January 28, 2020, 03:12:55 PM
Am I the only one who feels that most forum users, especially high-ranking members, prefer to join the YOBIT prize? If so, can you give that reason?
(For me it's sad, because there are no slots for JR members)

I observe that only a few users join the ICO project, including me?
Do you think that the ICO project is bad? not profitable anymore? or maybe because of something else?

It pays above decent and in BTC

They just launched a new token called YoDollar. Joined out of curiosity but I know it's shit. Let's be real... ERC20 token for I don't know what for because no one says. They did not disclose ANYTHING (coin/token, algo, supply, use case, stable coin or not, etc) and had over 100k users on the Telegram channel.
I have some guesses but doesn't matter. We shall see by tomorrow I assume.

What do you think it's better ? post with your existing account and be paid in BTC or open several accounts and do some sort of KYC and then wait for every airdrop distribution and receive few bucks max. Sounds like a no-brainer to me... Cheers!
P.S. not to mention the X10 fiasco
230  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Ban on: January 28, 2020, 11:20:32 AM
What a melodramatic friend you do have or is it just an alibi because it's your account that's been banned, am I making some sense?

My guess is ban evading, but without proof it's just that... a guess
231  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Ban on: January 28, 2020, 11:09:55 AM
1. Do people ever chat privately  in this forum?

You can send PM

please can the admin introduce temporary ban (warning)  before the permanent  ban?

Temporary ban exists! If you do something very wrong it's unlikely you would change... so some cases temporary, others permanent

2. Forum should allow the use of profile pictures we're not ghost workers I don't even believe female exist on this forum.

Once you get Full Member status you can have an avatar. Untill then you are a GHOST WORKER !

3. Private chat should remain private.

PM's are strings in a database. Only theymos has access. If you don't trust him go somewhere else. Be sure FB and Google are NOT reading your messages Smiley

My name is Blackpussy I'm just trying to make a common sense.

Sorry but I don't see your point
232  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to make rank-up more difficult on: January 25, 2020, 01:26:14 PM
- activity allows to become Legendary in 2 years or 2 years and a few weeks. Literally speaking, in real world, legends are built in far more time, not just in 2 years.

Date Registered:   November 06, 2017, 09:35:33 AM

By that logic you should become Legendary any moment now. Early congrats !

Ranking up is not easy. It is not hard either. It is where it should be
I see what you mean, [Legendary] title has a big impact, sort of "the key to the city award" and should be given on some strong premises. That is just a placeholder. Could have been TheDon, Forum GURU, Awesomesauce etc... don't take it literally. Posting over 1000 days stuff that others think it's interesting or witty or revolutionary or just funny is a challenge. I don't see the need for more hurdles along the way. Merit almost solved ranking for spammers, which is good. That was the entire purpose. Not to make it harder for everyone  and at the end (after 7-8 years of being an active member) build a statue for you !

Perhaps there are things that might be better off changing in the forum, but this is not one of them.
233  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Bitcoin Halving. on: January 21, 2020, 09:45:17 PM
Halving DOES make bitcoin vulnerable because it consolidates the pool of miners controlling, operating the blockchain.
I'd be interested to know if anyone has any data which prove this? It's not a foregone conclusion, and I suspect not the whole story for the reasons in my post above.
A 51% is just theoretical
Even IF that will be achieved it costs too much for it to be worthwhile, as 1miau said.
So some guys control 51%... just for the sake of it lets say 60%.
After spending all that money on electricity, asics etc they will get to "control" the next few blocks. They can do a double spent or two... but not much more. When the other part of the network will realise what is going on they will adjust. Businesses and exchanges will need 20 confirmations instead of 6 and voila.. you fuck the system, the system fucks you back. There isn't anyting to be worried about tbh.
234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Bitcoin Halving. on: January 20, 2020, 09:19:34 PM
I'm curious about the side effect of this halving which is negative in my opinion.

Do you know the solution or the answer to my old question here?
What about the vulnerability of bitcoin? This halving event will force small or even medium miners to stop operating which means bitcoin will become more vulnerable.

It can be overcome if an increase in the price of bitcoin is enough to make miners continue to profit. But what if it's not happening?
I didn't get any proper answer (in my opinion) from that previous thread.

"Is it still profitable to mine bitcoin??" is a question every mining farm asks themselves every single day.
Hope this will answer your question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNSlIiKyZJM  (A Antonopoulos)

235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rapper Akon kicks off construction for world's first "crypto city" on: January 20, 2020, 09:09:29 PM
Nice idea, that will go wrong all the way.

The bad part:
First, the name...you don't name the city after you or your pseudonym.

Why not ? If anything it would provide some marketing push and his name will remain in the African history books and on the blockchain

Second, a metropolis is not 3 square miles or 8 square kilometers. For example, Disneyland Paris is 3 times that Berlin 100 times.
It's more the size of a village than a metropolis.

It's a proof of concept. I doubt there are vast lands with all facilities (power, water, etc) just waiting for someone to claim them, regardless of the country.

Third, using a brand new token because...why not use bitcoin? Oh yeah, we need an ICO! ... I don't understand the need to build a new village from scratch rather than using the coin/token to improve what is going wrong in the current cities

It all comes down to decentralized - scalability - secure.
I would assume they want to keep the scalability and maybe security (my guess) and needed a type of coin to fit perfectly in the future created mini-metropolis ecosystem.
Also a city need facilities like water plants, electricity, services, public institutions etc THAT WOULD ALSO USE CRYPTO! Might be better of building from scratch than move all businesses and public institutions on crypto. Maybe if they see it's better, they will follow...who knows?
Let's see if a crypto utopia is feasible! I really hope so
236  Other / Meta / Re: [Updated January 11] LoyceV's Trust list viewer - Create your own Trust list! on: January 14, 2020, 05:20:07 PM
do you have a trust list?

Not yet

do you know how default trust works?

Not really rocket science. I can say I have a slight grasp of what's happening and why (or I may be delusional, I have been known to be wrong before)

Still... what does default trust, trust network, depth, inclusions, exclusions, DT user changes etc have to do with NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR THE GUY'S USERNAME ?
I may still be a newbie at heart but just curious tho Smiley

The trust system will not be fooled by such a pity excuse for "grey" hacking.

... then come back and apologise to me

As I mentioned before, I have been known to be wrong before, so if I really am in this case and the root of all this is nefarious and not curiosity, as I assume, then will surely do !
237  Other / Meta / Re: [Updated January 11] LoyceV's Trust list viewer - Create your own Trust list! on: January 14, 2020, 05:00:56 PM
There are a fair number of users using ~ in their usernames:
A few non-newbies that use ~ in the beginning:
     ~
~Money~
~BitSy~
~ErMaK~
~Spawn~
~Master~
~Bitcoin~
~Trololoh~
~CrockRoch~
~Coinseeker~
~BtcRoll.com~
~AnonCoinMan~

I don't see anything wrong with that. What is the difference between ~ or / or # or #^&#&^#^#&#%#&$#^$#&#^ ? (except the number of characters) Can't comprehend what the big deal is thb.
There is no hack, no wrong use of any forum system, no harm...

No offense but that even sounds wrong "I do not trust this user due to the username they set up"
That feedback should be withdrawn. There is no rational reason for that (even if user is not bothered too much about it, as it seems)
238  Other / Meta / Re: Request:Nuke user ~DefaultTrust: impersonating, Trust List spam and ban evasion on: January 11, 2020, 09:13:47 PM
...
Korner is banned, if ~DefaultTrust is his alt, he should be banned for ban evasion.
How can you say he is alt of "X" when he has 6 posts in total and there is nothing linking them? Hunch?
To me at least the username looks interesting, smart and also funny.
Thx for your scripts (used 1 or 2 myself) but just add "if UID=X { i++}" in your code and leave the "white hat troll" live :p
If what you said is true I guess whe'll cross that bridge when we get there.
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Get to Know All About Cowrium Project & Cowrie Coin (50% ICO Bonus) on: January 09, 2020, 12:29:06 PM
You should reorganize a bit your ANN post tbh.
First tell us what this is, how and why we should use it (benefits, specs etc) and then price. Makes me a bit uneasy when you start with the price for a unknown product.

Cowrium is a blockchain platform that aims to make it easier and affordable for Small & Medium Enterprises to adopt advanced blockchain solutions to increase their business reach, reduce the cost and improve the business performance/productivity...

The Cowrium platform and its cryptocurrency (CWR) can be used by masses and in a range of industries, thus overcoming the limitations of other existing coins.

This is all well written but doesn't say anything specific... how, why ? Can you please elaborate on the claims in the above quote ?
240  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BTCsurveys.com — Take Surveys & Earn Bitcoin on: January 07, 2020, 05:32:55 PM
Our end goal (and it might take a year or two to get there) is building out BTCsurveys to anyone can earn an hourly rate that is competitive to their own home country ... Plenty of work required to get there clearly, but that's the end goal.

It is an interesting project and hope you take it where you want it to be.
Not sure if some more profile data would help, like fields to enter country, age, sex, job title, industry, employment status etc in order to filter the surveys and to send them only to the users that would qualify for them based on those data. Maybe it's something to think about after reaching a certain critical mass of users.
All the best Smiley
