221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | 8/22 Update: FUD, KeyTrader2, KeyOS. on: September 01, 2014, 09:33:57 PM
Nice to see the support right after the good news from yesterday.  In my opinion, the recent price rise is due to genuine buys and not a pump.  If you look at keycoin's price history, 40-50k is only where it used to be way back when POW was still going on and nothing was yet released.  Don't think the real pump has happened yet (might not for awhile).  But yes, as one member pointed out, always be careful.

As this operating system has been promised since the very first day which was uhm a very long time ago, call me sceptical but I'll think I'll wait and see.

I sincerely hope that they do release it. If they do then good things will follow!

I thought they already released an Alpha version on their forums ?

They did.  It was an unofficial release that seems like very little people know about.

I'm also betting on them releasing it tomorrow.  They were exactly on time with their anon release, so I see a high chance that this will come on time. If not then maybe a 1-2 day delay at the most.

Finally, something we struggled with for a long time with KEY OS is complete, we have a full firewall now with ALL, not just browser traffic, but ALL traffic routed through Tor on KEY OS. The keytrader v2.0 which is a fully rewritten version on brand new code with many more features is nearing completion as well. Get ready guys. KEY is about to accomplish another milestone in it's development.

That's good to hear.  Any ETA?

Please, Keycoin, give us an update. We are on page 5 on Bittrex!!!

Worry not.

Quality attracts, low volume climbs fast.

Keycoin is a superior name and it seems now is a good time to invest.

Regardless, they are overdue for an update or at least dropping in to say something to the community.  They went from updating every day, to every 2-3 days, and now it's been over a week since they said something.  That makes investors such as myself feel a bit uneasy.

Edit:

Just found this recent tweet from Pr0m: https://twitter.com/_pr0m3theus_/status/505820811090214912

Does not really give any idea of release date, but I guess we can make of it what we want.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COINO] The Coin(O) Community Discussion thread on: August 30, 2014, 02:35:48 AM
I know smcardle talked about creating a new twitter, facebook page, etc. in the past to help build the community but I don't think that was ever done.  If no one objects, I'm willing to create and manage some of this stuff as I have a bit more free time in the foreseeable future.  Of course, I can always give out the credentials to this stuff to anyone else in the community who are heavily involved in coino and have proven to be trustworthy.  These places could be where we update the community on news and what's going on with coino.  I'm also thinking about creating an emailing list.  Any comments?
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COINO] The Coin(O) Community Discussion thread on: August 29, 2014, 08:24:24 PM
The Coin(O) Discussion is not limited to only IRC. I urge anyone with an idea or opinion to even post it here on our official Bitcointalk thread.

I always thought it needs something in the "real world" to promote it, you can buy pizza's with bitcoins etc, so why not with COINO coin?

SO one idea I have is whether we can get Coino working with say, Munzee's. (www.munzee.com)

I've been a Munzee-er for a few years now (online QR GPS based hunting game), bit like geocaching. I am "friends" in the loosest sense with the CEO of the company and I wonder whether we could promote Coino somehow through this. They are a technologically focussed "fun" based company who are open to new ideas... maybe we use Coino as an alternative currency to buy the various game pieces that are sold.

I don't know... maybe its too early for this, maybe it needs some investment + plus an exchange... (and I am definitely not promoting munzee btw, its just something I've been doing for a while and could fit)...

Anyway, one to add into the melting pot of "ideas..."

I'd say go for it. Seems like a good opportunity to increase the userbase of coino.  Even if it's too early, at least it will get the coino name out there.

There's no doubt there will be another pump again when the new features get released. But if devs are indeed in it for the long term, then some of those questions do need to be answered.  As a supporter and investor from the beginning, I do hope they can give adequate responses.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | 8/22 Update: FUD, KeyTrader2, KeyOS. on: August 27, 2014, 12:34:52 PM
Im sorry to be the one to tell you this, but they ARE the same people..or maybe the devs are hired by the same people, why do you think there is not one respected dev on this coin that is not hiding their identity?

Alright, so to summarize, major concerns that has been brought up are:

1.  How to address potential issues with KeyTrader (i.e. will source code be released)
2.  Who will manage the security and check the fidelity of KeyOS
3.  Who are the devs?

Does that sound about right?

I guess now we will just have to wait for what the devs have to say about all this.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | 8/22 Update: FUD, KeyTrader2, KeyOS. on: August 27, 2014, 12:12:59 PM
You're welcome.  You do bring up another good point.  I think that not only do devs need to deliver (and they undeniably have), they also need to address potential issues with their releases.  Perhaps this will be addressed with KeyTrader 2?  I don't know, but the important thing is devs do need to give the community more information.

Also, for future reference.  If you ask questions in a more polite and professional way, I think devs/community are more likely to answer.  I think you can agree that in the past, much of your posts have been rather malicious.

Well , if by malicious you mean Anti-keycoin group, then yes, but I have never lied, I have only pointed out things they would rather were not pointed out, they HAVE lied, and even admitted to it, and they still twist the truth, for example, Boomsling, when asked said he is not part of keycoin group, but he has already admitted he is a member of the pr0m group before (back in the cryptcoin saga days), search pastebin and you will see he in convos going back months. So they are still trying to deceive.

Well, I think you need to be clear.  Are you anti-keycoin devs or anti-"the P&D group" that supported keycoin.  That's an important distinction to make.  Unless you think they are the same people.

The absolutely only thing I want to know is who is paying for the USB key?

More importantly, I want to know who is overseeing the security of this operating system? Is it going to be independently tested by Linux experts, checked for malware/virus/keyloggers etc?

That's a very valid question.  Devs did mention that they recently hired a Linux expert to help out in their latest update.  I would also very much like to know how they are handling or plan to handle this aspect of it.

I think that although price and volume has decreased by a lot, there are still a lot of people following keycoin from the sidelines and new people coming in everyday.  It's just really up to the devs now to deliver once more and price/volume should increase again.  Either that or devs just need to be more active with the community.

Thankyou, finally a keycoin investor agrees this is a valid question, BTW: a question ive been asking for weeks but they have not replied to me once with any kind of decent answer, just deleted my posts.

That was the point I was trying to make by modifying the keytrader exe buttons to say "steal my coins" etc, because without any source code to check, those buttons inside that app could be doing anything when interacting with the bitrex API, for example, even without withdraw access the app could buy or sell any coin at any price, so this app could be modified to pump and dump any coin the devs want it to.

For example, what protections are there for users if a group member goes rogue and pushes a bad update to the app?

Any update on progress, devs?  Like I've said before, more communication can only help
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | 8/22 Update: FUD, KeyTrader2, KeyOS. on: August 24, 2014, 10:25:59 PM
I very much disrespect the idea of a moderated thread, but since they left both your and my comment up, and since a few people at least answered my concerns and especially since it does seem like a well done coin, I'll put a few dollars into it.

I don't have enough money to move the price but if it is a fair coin with no bullshit it may do well eventually. I notice no one seems to be arbitraging the coin between bittrex and poloniex, so maybe in a few days I'll get on that and try to make a few bucks there. It does look like an okay coin.

I agree with you that a moderated thread is definitely not ideal, but I think the devs have been doing a great job of only deleting what is clearly spam and leaving true constructive criticism and community concerns.

As a side note, I just found another exchange for Key that I did not know about:  https://bleutrade.com/exchange/KEY/BTC

To Keycoin devs:

Sorry to be talking about another coin here, but I've been keeping an eye on the BitcoinDark thread and noticed one thing that might help Keycoin.  One of the devs of BTCD does an incredible job of keeping the community posted on progress (even if it's just something very small and insignificant) and continually asks the community for their input.  They have a great community over there and the price of their coin seems to reflect that.  And to think, they haven't even officially released any features yet.

I know it's a lot of work, but if Keycoin devs could try to do the same thing, I think it would be of great benefit to the entire project.
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | 8/22 Update: FUD, KeyTrader2, KeyOS. on: August 24, 2014, 01:47:39 PM

I don't know why you compare crypt to key.

do you live in a cave or something ??
they are the same people , same dev .

Your original argument was that there were a lot of undelivered promises in crypt and that it's the same with key.  As I've already stated, that's not true.  Keycoin has already delivered the features I've mentioned in my last post.  So again, there is no comparison.

Well i am just here to ask why should i buy keycoin? How is keyOS going to help the price of keycoin? Is it going to be paid or something? I havent bought any keycoin yet just looking for the reason why should i.

This will be up to your own judgement.  In my opinion, the price of Key has gotten so low now and if you look at the features it already has, it's really undervalued.  I think buying now would be considered cheap, and price will likely increase with KeyOS release.  Again, this is my speculation.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | 8/22 Update: FUD, KeyTrader2, KeyOS. on: August 24, 2014, 01:01:12 PM
hello, im a potential investor.

I want to know what happened to the price of keycoin, what caused it, was there any major code flaw or hacking incident?
I didn't follow keycoin before but I saw the rise, and I know xc dev has reviewed keycoin.

-qq

No major code flaw or hacking incident that I know about.  It just seems that people have been moving their money into other hyped coins for the moment.  Or maybe other things behind the curtains that we as a community don't know about.  Only thing for sure is that progress is still being made from a development standpoint.

if they say a date when its ready ,i will believe you .
same as crypt , soon lol
more soon ,
they still waiting haha

I don't know why you compare crypt to key.  You must fail to see that crypt never released anything.  On the other hand, Keycoin has released their anon tech, KeyTrader app, and there's even an unofficial alpha release of KeyOS on the official forum (http://keycoincrypto.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8).

Please stop giving people misleading information.

Hello Dev, what's your next step ETA ?
With regards
Cornett

Yes, a tentative release date would be nice.

Hi BTCD community,

I've said this before and will say it again. I am very intrigued by this coin and the projects it has going on. I do have a serious question though, and if someone can give me an answer, I would greatly appreciate it.

I read elsewhere that this coin has a 1.5% premine that is for development purposes.  Is that true? If so, then why do the devs need to raise more money for development, as seen on the OP?  This is somewhat puzzling to me and I wanted to know if there was a good explanation for it.  Thanks in advance.
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | 8/22 Update: FUD, KeyTrader2, KeyOS. on: August 23, 2014, 01:05:35 AM
WHY is KEY getting hammered in the markets?

Did I miss a calamity of some kind? What gives?  Huh

No calamity that I know of.  Dev just updated on progress today.
