221  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 105 Gh/s ASIC miner: Redhash by TAV. (Auction ended). on: October 18, 2013, 08:09:29 PM

Yes. Available in under two weeks and much much lower wattage: https://megabigpower.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=53

Bitfury would be the same price as us ($20 per GH/s).

However as pointed out, in the last 48h(?) Avalon reduced their prices from 15 to 12 BTC for 4 modules and that would beat us...

223  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 105 Gh/s ASIC miner: Redhash by TAV. (Auction ended). on: October 18, 2013, 07:17:57 PM
joeventura: well is there anybody anywhere offering a better price per Gh/s for NEW hardware available within 2 weeks? Honest question. (Used hardware from some random guy on bitcointalk does not count. It is normal to pay premium for new vs. old.)

227  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 105 Gh/s ASIC miner: Redhash by TAV. (Auction ended). on: October 17, 2013, 06:10:22 AM
mrb - would you entertain people sending you Avalon gen1 chips and you churning out complete Redhashes?

plus one
Plus 2

We will do it if there is enough interest.

For example is anybody interested in the following: send us 320 chips (to our company in the USA), and we will assemble a full 105 Ghash/sec Redhash unit and ship it back to you for approximately 14 BTC, shipping of the unit included, worldwide? (This might sound close to Bitsyncom's price, but the advantage over a unit shipped from China is no customs for USA buyers, plus we use higher-quality components, cables, PSUs, fans, our chassis is rackable, etc.)
228  Economy / Securities / Re: [PicoStocks] 100TH/s bitcoin mine [100th] on: October 17, 2013, 04:44:11 AM
As of today, October 16, one can assuredly say that this project has permanently failed to bring profits, via mining dividends, for anyone who bought at a price higher than 0.05 BTC per share.

No amount of effort to bring the mine to 200 TH/s soon-ish will ever be able to return more than 0.05 BTC total per share, over the entire future life time of the project. Even with the most optimistic estimations. From the beginning until today, each share has mined approximately 0.02 BTC so far. And even if we assume buzzdave will be able to bring the mine from ~75 Th/s to 200 Th/s 2 weeks from now (end of October), and assuming an optimistic average global daily hashrate increase of 2% for the next 6 months, each share would represent 400 Mhash/s and would mine no more than 0.03 BTC. Mining dividends beyond 6 months are literally negligible (less than 0.005 BTC). Hence the total mined by each share would be approximately 0.05 BTC.

The only persons who have made or will make profits are those who:
- did it via speculation (as opposed to mining dividends), eg. buying low and selling high. There was opportunity to speculate given that the stock reached a high of ~0.40 BTC. I sold a bunch at this price. You should have too if you did the math.
- are IPO investors and bought at 0.04 BTC. They may hope to get total mining dividends of 0.05 BTC, therefore realizing a tiny return of 0.01 BTC per share.

Threader: technically it is not know, as we have not done destructive tests.
230  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 105 Gh/s ASIC miner: Redhash by TAV. (Auction ended). on: October 10, 2013, 02:12:15 AM
Question for MRB: I am thinking of modifying the Redhash case by cutting out the large diameter case housing integrated fan guards and installing industry standard chrome fan grills all around (5 holes).

Purpose increasing CFM and reduce noise.

Any reason I shouldn't?

Sure, you can do it!
231  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 105 Gh/s ASIC miner: Redhash by TAV. IN STOCK NOW! on: October 08, 2013, 07:23:13 PM
Got my Redhash unit yesterday. I chose to use my own power supply and was in shock that my Trusty Antec 850 watt was inadequate to power the unit clocked at 328mhz per chip. It would shut down. At 300mhz or below it was fine. I swapped in my main rigs TR 1200 watt and no problems. Kill-A-Watt EZ Plug Power Meter shows 979 watts

It is because according to the specs of your Antec TPQ-850, it can only supply 768W to the 12V rails. The remainder of the total wattage is available on other non-12V rails. And per my first post, our redhash unit need 780-790W at 12V. This is why we selected the Corsair TX850M for our redhash unit: it can supply 840W at 12V.

Optimator: the wattage of a PSU measures what it can supply (output) not what it can draw (input). The maximum input wattage at the wall is always higher than what it can supply due to inefficiencies (most PSUs are only 80-90% efficient). Per my first post, we measured our PSUs pulling 940W from the wall, and supplying 780-790W at 12V, which place them below their maximum rating of 840W.
232  Economy / Auctions / Re: TAV’s auction: Redhash 105 Gh/s ASIC miners on: October 07, 2013, 08:08:21 AM
With the exception of 1 customer who paid late on Saturday, all our units shipped/were picked up locally. The auction was a great success. Thanks all! We are already receiving reports from many of our customers who are up and mining.
233  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Redhash by TAV. A new 105 Gh/s ASIC miner. IN STOCK NOW! on: October 02, 2013, 09:23:51 PM
We default to Priority Mail Express International, which is included in your bid price.
If you have a specific carrier in mind, we may be able to accommodate your needs. Give us your details (country, zip) at sales@thinairventures.com and we will figure out a quote for you.

What a bummer: for the few of you who are not in the USA and who desire to use our standard shipping included in the bid, we found out that USPS Priority Mail Express International is not available (to all/some countries?) given the 19 kg weight of one packaged unit.

We are in contact with you guys to work out solutions.
234  Economy / Auctions / Re: TAV’s auction: Redhash 105 Gh/s ASIC miners on: October 02, 2013, 09:00:47 PM
We have received payment for 4 more units since my last message (so 5 out of 27 paid so far). We will ship these 4 by the end of today.
We are still working with the rest of you to give you quotes for those who asked for expedited shipping, or we are waiting payment for the other units.
1 bidder (WinterParker) has still not replied to my PM to confirm email and/or phone.
235  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 105 Gh/s ASIC miner: Redhash by TAV. IN STOCK NOW! on: October 02, 2013, 10:01:49 AM
Optimator: thanks! 110 lines of Python Smiley

1) Setup guide for these guys somewhere ?
2) How high have you stably run these on a Corsair AX1200 ?
3) Worth it to attach two more fans to pull hot air out of the unit, on top of your presumably configured 3 push fans ?

1) A quick setup guide will be included with the redhash unit.
2) We have not tried mining with an AX1200. Like all vendors, TAV does not (cannot) officially support or recommend overclocking.
3) No. Adding the 2 fans would increase air velocity, but would decrease interior air pressure, which would reduce cooling to the PSU, which would potentially reduce its operating life.

236  Economy / Auctions / Re: TAV’s auction: Redhash 105 Gh/s ASIC miners on: October 02, 2013, 09:19:24 AM
TAV has reached out to every single one of the auction winners.

We have received at least 1 mail or PM from about half of you.
We have received shipping info for about 1 out of 4 bidders.
We have received payment for 1 out of 27 units.
We have shipped 1 out of 27 units (actually was shipped 12 hours ago - it was the highest bidder).
