Flat Earth globe:

No disrespect to anyone here as everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I have a question - sorry for asking:
How does the system or whoever it is that's hiding the fact that the earth is flat (if indeed it is) benefit from spreading this lie?
What is the rest of (the ignorant (if)) society loosing because of this - because they are taught that the earth is a sphere?
 Huh

I think this is just a fun thread, or a Troll thread as someone else called it.

The ends never support the means in all these conspiracy theories...whether it's flat earth or 9/11...some people say the Govt. need this to do this, etc.

But in reality the Govt doesn't need a crazy event to do what it wants, it just does it...that's why all these conspiracies fall apart.

You said it best [something like]:

"How does the system or whoever it is that's hiding the fact that [something happened] benefits from spreading this lie?

What is the rest of (the ignorant (if)) society loosing because of this - [place conspiracy here] ?"

The logic flow of the conspiracy theories never add up...

223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: gpu bubble well and truly bursting on: September 27, 2017, 02:48:19 AM
The "bubble" has burst when we see new 1070's @ $320 or less, 1080's @ $420 or less, and 1080 ti's dropping into the low $600's

bubble bursting has nothing to do with cost of GPU. How do you even come to that conclusion ?  Huh

They are talking about the cost of GPUs, that started to go up in price at the beginning of the year (or was it March?) because of increased mining demand. Not a coin bubble. For a while it was impossible to find some GPUs.

I've noticed a small price drop at my local store and there is more supply...

Thomas Dolby thinks the earth is flat also:

"The Earth can be any shape you want it
Any shape at all
Dark and cold or bright and warm
Long or thin or small
But it's home and all I ever had
And maybe why for me the Earth is flat"

He is known to prove things with SCIENCE, he goes into detail on this:

Or try this one:

And in time you'll come to understand
The flat old Earth is in your gentle hands

This is a troll thread?  Huh

I think so, in the "old days" websites/online bulletin boards used to have "war boards" where people could unload on others without any repercussions (banning, etc). I think this thread is our "war board" or "troll thread" ....some funny stuff here.

Yeap, it's real to me! And you can't do anything about it!

232  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can Bill Gates or Zuckerberg buy Bitcoin on: September 21, 2017, 05:10:20 PM
Bitcoin has a Market Cap of 19 billion so that means all bitcoin in circulation at that moment are worth 19 billion??

Bill Gates has a fortune of what 60 billion and zuckerberg approximatly 40 billion, i know they dont just have that mney laying around but assume zuckerberg would sell of all of his facebook shares and buys off as many bitcoins as he can for his money (40 billion) could he just buy all of them.

of course he wouldnt just buy them all at once and he for sure wouldnt sell all his facebook shares all at once but we assume he switches his facebook shares over a period of a few years all in crypto

could he just buy all of them??

Even with their fortunes they could not buy all the bitcoin...mathematically it would be very difficult and economically it would not make sense...in turn it would probably lead to financial ruin.

When these guy buy stocks (like Buffett, etc) they buy it slowly, quietly, over time; so the price doesn't shoot up.

It would makes sense to buy SOME...slowly, on dips, etc.

235  Other / Off-topic / So what really happened in Florida with Hurricane IRMA - How bad was it on: September 15, 2017, 05:00:48 PM
First and foremost I hope everyone is okay and that the damage isn't that bad.

Can't really believe the news reports, so much click bait.

Is there wide spread devastation? Or did the Media over-hype it?

The Keys look bad, I hope everyone evacuated.

I do have a friend in Fort Myers that I can't contact, another friend in Orlando says is wasn't that bad in her area (the have power).

Anyone from Florida want to report in:

How is your area?

238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: September 09, 2017, 04:55:55 AM
Texas is still a mess.  I still have much to fix / recover but the most important part is that family is safe.   That I am thankful for.  FEMA?  It's a joke.   It's the good old boys in the hood that went out and save, feed and protect our locals.  I don't even know where those Billions will be going to other than lawyers and to their cousins.   Everyone is for themselves here and it's your good neighbors that's got your back.   Let's pray Irma won't hit FL as hard.  It will take us Texans a long time to recover but overall, I lived in both states and have survived many major Hurricanes, Texas definitely handle it much better than FL.

was waiting for you to post...glad to hear you are okay.
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The future of GPU (video card) mining,,, In Plain English on: September 05, 2017, 09:19:39 PM
GPU mining is stupid. All this electricity and heat generated so a few of us can profit from a digital currency that does not exist. It's really ridiculous when you think about it. But a lot of the world is ridiculous. Central banks print money and 75% of the world lives in poverty. So as stupid as GPU mining is, it's just building on the stupidity that already exists.

With that said, the future of GPU is not going away but it should transform. GPU companies are going to cash in and they should but they can develop products that are more efficient at what they do on the consumer level. I think what the OP wants to know, is what is the future of GPU mining when Ethereum goes POS:

1. People will switch to mining another coin, since it won't be nowhere near as profitable, it won't last long and we'll get a big GPU sell off
2. The big sell off will eventually be a positive to those who hung in there. How much of a positive? Impossible to know.
3. As time passes, another (profitable) GPU mineable coin will emerge that needs people to mine and build the network.

GPU mining is building an infrastructure. Right now the majority of that infrastructure is supporting Ethereum. This will switch to something else. Crypto was just born, it's hard to know what will happen tomorrow, let alone next month.

"just building on the stupidity that already exists"

LOL

Could be a slogan for a company or politician...maybe President Camacho
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU warranty trick - Question on: September 05, 2017, 12:04:27 PM
Just want to add that there are other GPU manufacturers that accept warranty claim without an invoice.  Pretty sure gigabyte doesnt require an invoice, they check the card and determine the date of manufacture, and your warranty starts from there.  If you bought the card in 2016, but it was made in 2015, then you just lost one year warranty - unless - you have the invoice stating date of purchase.

Interesting. I will investigate it. Maybe the seller can get me other cards. So far he had Zotac and Asus. I wont be changing any labels and shit. I'll just look for card that i can get warranty without invoice. I would be paying with cash.

Call back and try to RMA, ask for a supervisor...it's worth a try, costs you nothing. Also, if there is no other easy fix, send the damn thing back without an invoice and see what happens.
