I should have phrased my question more simply. Can I use this extension cord with my 1600W EVGA PSU to power my S9. I was concerned that the max amperage rating of 15 for the extension cord would be an issue.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-50-ft-14-3-Extension-Cord-AW62608/202353284?keyword=14+gauge+husky+extension+cord+50+foot

How many volts are you running?

Thx for the feedback. I'm referring to the standard 14 gauge extension cords that you'd buy from Home Depot. The 20 amp was referring to the max amperage that is written on the extension cord packaging

My S9's run at 220V and 6-7 amps

Had a S9 batch 8 arrive today. Ethernet lights flash, it won't hash and I can't login through my browser. I've tried different power supplies, Ethernet cables etc. anyway to boot with a sd card? I can't seem to find it on bitmains website for the s9.

There is no way to "target an address". You can only target someone's PC, laptop, physical wallet etc. as nothing in an address tells you where physically the balance is "stored."

OK -- SAME TIME FRAME -- AND 2 MINERS HERE (Moe and I) have a PROBLEM  -- I sent Kano a PM with the specifics...

I WAS NOT PAID FOR 10 BLOCKS FOUND!!!

I was paid for 420608 on the 14th -- and today I was paid on 420988 and 421016 -- 10 blocks in between were NOT PAID to ME!!!

I use a trezor -- it is VERY SAFE -- I have NEVER had a problem -- and it doesn't APPEAR to have a problem...

I'm just trying to figure out why I didn't receive 10 payments...

And ALERT OTHERS to CHECK THEIR PAYOUTS!!!

All of my payouts are accounted for and have always shown up when they should. I don't know what the problem is, but I'm not having any issues on my end. Good luck.

No problems for me.

Wow -- I got the 2 payments associated with the last block (payouts for 420988 and 421016)...

However, I'm missing payments for 10 blocks found by kano from 420727 through 420981...

I'll PM Kano with the details...

I encourage everyone on here to check your payouts -- oddly enough this time frame is around the same time Moe7865(moecarrim) claimed to have had bitcoin stolen.  I did NOT send any at his request to that wallet (Thanks to Phillips advice) -- so I'm not sure how I'm getting screwed on this end.

I'm NOT claiming that it is Moe -- because I don't know -- it might be the same guy that stole coins from him -- I'm just saying it was around the same time frame...

Like I said -- my wallet payout address is correct in my settings -- I don't see why I didn't receive the payments...

I've changed my login password to kano -- just in case...

 Huh Huh Huh

P.S.  I'm using Trezor...

I highly doubt someone is targeting kano.is payout addresses.

Kano, I read in the S9 thread that the new firmware is causing problems on your pool. If this is true I won't flash it. Do you have any info?

i forgot to mention to K man, in fact that guy who posted is a friend of mine, if he points to main server it's not good.

but if pointed to the node closest to him seems to be ok.

it is ok for me on 24th june fw for the s9 my hw error is 0.0001% pointed to the node closest to me.

ping for me is : ***SG Node***

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 11ms, Maximum = 18ms, Average = 14ms

Lastly, the GOLDEN Rule of Thumb . . . if it ain't broken DON'T fix it !

Let the blocks continue to roll & fall in ... i want ma supa-dupa GREEN, blinding GREEEEEN !

Thanks, I generally keep miners on the latest firmware in hopes they run better. I'll hold off for now.

My brain agrees with you -- my heart goes out to the young man...

I will no longer distract the thread -- albeit, he IS a miner here...

I just wish we could help in some meaningful way -- I just don't see how that is realistically possible...

How much was stolen?

I have my backup at slushs and actually hit a block at about 184.3TH/s during our outage.  Some upside to our downside.

Still CKPool is the BEST pool for profitability and transparency!

I was there for that block. Good feeling, but I'm happy to be back.

I have an option to get a S9-B6, 11.85TH for a pretty decent price from someone I know.

My question is are these 2nd class chips that couldn't make the cut at 12.9TH or something else?

The batch 6 is spec'd at 550Mhz vs. the batch 3 and 7 @ 600Mhz. Is this because the batch 6 chips can't handle that frequency?

I would probably try to run it at least 587Mhz, which is what I am running my S9 batch 3 at.
(I know that would void the warranty on the batch 6, so I would wait till it ran out.)

Any thoughts appreciated. Especially from anyone who has the batch 6!

Thanks!!  Smiley

I have 5 of these and so far they are running perfect. I'm running them at 550 I don't want to void my warranty. After warranty expires I'll flash the 12.93 firmware and give it a shot.

I agree on waiting as there voiding warranty currently is on a 2k or so miner.  Wait the 90 day's it (hopefully) will be down where if something goes wrong it won't hurt as bad.  But still not sure worth doing when you look at added speed vs possible loss.

If everything goes perfect yes getting some extra hash would be nice.   But your risking a awful lot on your OC.   I think ROIing in 90 day's is going to not happen to much unless bought in Fiat and big BTC jump in value.   I know I need to run quite a bit longer then 90 day's so I think I will not be OC'ing S9's anytime soon.  Just not worth the risk for me and with being in summer it's not the best time for me to OC personally.

I agree summer won't be the best time, fall should be coming when the warranty runs out.

234  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is the best hardware to mine Bitcoins? on: July 12, 2016, 05:41:48 AM
Excuse me, I am Brazilian and as you might already realize my English is not very good. hahahah
I'll try to explain better, I wanted to know what the best hardware to mine, which is the most powerful, which is what has most benefit cost.
Here in Brazil have no electricity costs. I have available $ 100,000 to buy mining machine.
I heard that Antiminer manufactures the best machines. What do you suggest me?

With free power and 100k, I'd be buying a bunch of S9's

If I bought 100k Antminer, will arrive in Brazil? Or was stopped at Customs (Alfandega )

It takes 3 days from China to USA. Not sure how long to Brazil.

Not sure what's going on with the pool, but my hash rate is showing 1/2 what it is and my stale shares have sky rocketed way above normal.
Anyone else?

my miners pointed to SG no problem, the last failed over was 22 hours ago

Mine didn't fail over, it just demonstrated the behavior I mentioned. Seems to have returned to normal and my hash rate is going back to what it should be and the stale shares have stopped.

I'm having the same problem. Not sure if this even makes sense but I've failed over to slush with 60th for a very short time then miners switched back to kano

Is something going on with the pool? A couple of times in the last 8 hours or so my miner has failed over to a backup. The most recent fail over was in the last 10 minutes or so.

My miner is at a data center with with a very reliable Internet connection. We have monitoring of our services out the wazoo and none of them (including the external monitoring system) is indicating a connectivity problem at our end.

I've had this same problem.

Hi to everybody. I have an s9 antminer 12.93 th/s. Today the yield moved from 0.03 evere 24 hours to 0.018. What s is going on? Difficult increase?? I cannot check... i am abroad. Or maybe my 3g data plan is suffering.? Which one is your actual yield? From the dashboard of antpool i can see that they miner is on and the hashrate looks ok.
poor bastard...

Oooo that's brutal. Always do your research........

LOL, such lack of knowledge. Biggest thing to happen with bitcoin in 4 years. His couldn't you know.
238  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: MinToRRo Bitmain Antminer Firmware S5 / S7- The Flash one! on: July 10, 2016, 04:16:23 PM
Are you using regular cryptoglance? Or is three another one. Sorry if I'm missing something but I've read the thread and and noticed features that I don't recall on standard cryptoglance.
239  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: July 10, 2016, 06:36:00 AM
Am I calculating this right for a single S9 miner....

$2075 for an S9

12.9TH hashrate using 1350W

Electric rate 13.111 cents per KWh in southeast Wisconsin

ROI for just the miner 365 days ( not including climate control electrical costs )

...
......
.........
............ If its a year til ROI, and it takes Bitmain LESS THAN a year to come out with a new model ( The time the S7 hit the market to the time the S9 was being sold was less than a year) ... individuals and farms will not be profitable at all .... the death of bitcoin mining it looks like... unless you have solar or renewable energy.

Speculation of a 10nm chip is 14-18 months. But that is just rumor and could be completely wrong.

I'm I figuring this right? That would be 2:00 am mountain time in the US?
