PayPal needs to accept bitcoin as a funding option.
562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halving is a profitable??? on: April 12, 2016, 02:43:09 PM
Well halving has made impact on the price atleast as i know ,i dont remember when those halvings has started ,but sure they made the price readjust.

Truly bitcoin has made lot variation in price over the past and gave good profit for those who trusted in its growth. No in accordance users believe bitcoin halving is profitable.
There are a a lot of people that is saying that the halving will be not that good for all us that have Bitcoin because it will not rise and that is bad if that is not going to happen.
Everyone is hoping for a good price increase in the future later so they can sell it with a huge profit.

If price doesn't increase to some degree mining will fall drastically. Miners have large power and equipment costs to cover.

Two things:
1) Wrong section.
2) Wrong place in general. I don't think that you will find a good opportunity here, but you can try. I think that this thread should work in the services section.
If I understood this correctly, you're offering to host someone else's hardware rather than hosting their software on your hardware, right?

If I can offer something that helps level the playing field a bit I'm all for it.
It depends on things such as the price and trust (e.g. how can one be sure that you won't manipulate anything at the hardware level?).

As this is just a idea my initial response is. Miner would be directed to the owners pool and account. They could monitor it from the workers page. To recoup my power cost they would pay for a month in advance.
But it does appear the market is covered in this arena.

The little guys are disappearing every day. Won't be long and the corporation's will have the market. If I can offer something that helps level the playing field a bit I'm all for it.
565  Economy / Services / Hosting service on: April 11, 2016, 09:15:35 PM
Question?
I know there are a few hosting companies out there. Is this something the community is interested in using or expanding? The reason I ask, I've got a good size, climate controlled warehouse with reasonable power costs. I currently use it for just my own hardware but would be willing to consider hosting for those with high power costs, noise issues, etc. I'd be interested in everyone's thoughts.
Thanks
566  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: April 11, 2016, 12:42:14 AM
I have an S7 that tries to hash gets to 5 TH then gives red light starts beeping. Out of warranty. Please any ideas?

lower the freq by 1000 if

700 go to 600
650 go to 550

check temps
check fan speeds

Thanks for the quick response! 600 stops the beeping and red light but can only get 4 TH.. Tried 650 and 625 and no beeping but Red light flashing

From this point I'd reset it.
567  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Ohio Miners United on: April 11, 2016, 12:06:22 AM
80 doesnt sound bad. I figure new machines will be out soon thus i dont want to start a 6-12 months contract and be stuck if no new stuff is out and s7 is not profitable.

I already have the contract and you would be able to come under my miners and therefore there would be no contract.  Open for discussion.

I figure mining will be a profitable business for the next 4-6 years, but I am also looking for starting new ventures.

What company in Washington do you use?
568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halving is a profitable??? on: April 10, 2016, 11:00:25 PM
Most likely the bitcoin will be profitable, a lot of speculators are saying this and I also think this is true to be honest.
The halving is just a couple months away from us, and I think the halving can let us all make profit if it has been done.

Speculators will drive the price up once we are closer to the halving.
thats why I'm always happy if a lot of people have high expectations on halving and I was glad when they said. "Better buy now before halving happen"

Be careful professional speculators are more than likely already making their move.
569  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Who owns Bitcoin? on: April 10, 2016, 10:52:30 PM
Everyone owns bitcoin as long as you have an address with 1 satoshi in it holding the private you owned it.
Satoshi Nakamoto left 2010 but he dont own bitcoin just the concept.

What is a Satoshi?
570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halving is a profitable??? on: April 10, 2016, 10:19:08 PM
It will be interesting to see. With hard costs staying the same "electricity, hardware, etc" and income being cut in half. I wonder how this whole thing will shake out for the miner crowd.

Hi there, I'm trying to register and I'm getting this error:

I'd do what it says and use a different email service.

I don't know the future implications of halving in the medium term, but I am totally convinced that in longer terms the bitcoin price can achieve the $1000 level again. If halving results in a drop in the current price I will be patience and perhaps I will take advantage of that situation to buy more bitcoin.

In any case, both scenarios (pessimistic or optimistic) are convenient for me.

Great point, I'm in bitcoin for the long haul. I'm convinced huge money can be made.
573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: April 10, 2016, 06:08:54 PM
Simple risk aversion on the part of PayPal. Without it fraud would bankrupt them. When bitcoin becomes more mainstream, something similar should be expected.
574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: April 10, 2016, 05:00:23 PM
I can easily see how sellers love bitcoin and buyers don't. There aren't enough assurances for a buyer to feel comfortable. If a balance could be achieved I think things would really take off.
That's sure. If you sell something, you want to secure your back, if you play it fair. Bitcoin is just the best way for it. But if you are a buyer, you need to have something, a warranty system, or a dispute board to be on the safe side, and Paypal has this.
So buyers votes for Paypal and Sellers for Bitcoin. Bitcoin (or websites where you can pay with Bitcoin) should have already worked out a solution for the protection of the buyers. This is needed for Bitcoin to get more and more acceptance.

If you use Bitcoin to buy something with, then you must know beforehand that you can't do anything to get your payment back. It's impossible. It's either accepting this and proceed with your purchase, or you should stop and use other forms of payment where you get all the freedom of charging back on some one.

That's exactly what makes bit[Suspicious link removed]d and bad.
575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: April 10, 2016, 04:21:46 PM
I will choose Paypal at a moment as I feel Paypal is still the best for online shopping, as bitcoin is not accepted by majority of sites as a mode of payment.

What can we do as a community to make bitcoin "best"? Once we establish a path to achieve this bitcoin will make tremendous progress.
576  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis-Mining and Bitcoin reward halving!! on: April 10, 2016, 08:45:59 AM
Look, when the price of BTC was $200 and miners were mining, just think why did they mine...
It was just because mining was profitable with the reward of BTC25 when the price was $200, so if we see it correctly, the price is currently double the previous one, and so it can be said that BTC is already priced in before halving so that miners may actually profit in future too, though they are still accumulating for any further losses which might occur (possible) but I don't think that with this price, you might see any loss even with halved rewards...

One thing to remember is difficulty has risen significantly since bitcoin was at $200.00. Difficulty would need to drop for $400.00 to be profitable after halving.
577  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: April 10, 2016, 08:21:15 AM
Although the actual mining community isn't a direct customer. Bitfury intended to draw attention with this announcement, they succeeded.
578  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: April 10, 2016, 07:20:48 AM
While I could be dead wrong, right now my money is on a "chip fabrication" problem for Bitfury, as opposed to outright deception on their part.

I don't think they have said anything useful in well over a month, so it's obvious that "late March" isn't useful for guidance.

Better communication from bitfury would be appreciated by most.
579  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: April 10, 2016, 07:00:38 AM
At one point they were saying "end of March", so in THEORY shortly in this case should mean "any day now".

Classic over promise and under deliver lol.
580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: April 10, 2016, 06:45:11 AM
It partially boils down to education, people flat out don't understand it. It's different than anything they've ever experienced. Money not issued by a government is something nearly unheard of for most. There needs to be some sort of effort getting bitcoin into retail establishments. It needs to say bitcoin right along with Visa, Mastercard, next to the cash register. Maybe the same approach is needed. A sales force going out and signing up retailers to accept bitcoin and receiving a commission, just like visa salespeople. Hell I'd do it in the town I live in.
