221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Silk Network: Silk(SLK), DarkSilk(DSLK) and Weaver on: September 19, 2016, 05:04:52 AM
Weaver is now down for maintanence.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Silk Network: Silk(SLK), DarkSilk(DSLK) and Weaver on: September 18, 2016, 06:54:09 PM
Thanks again.  The withdrawal is now showing up and has 8 confirmations, but Weaver isn't showing any balance.  I'll continue to wait, but once it's in my wallet should I be able to send coins out to Silk Core?

Should I go ahead and withdraw all my coins, then, or wait for the first 10 SILK tx to come through?  Don't want to lose out to impatience...  It's worrisome that there's no apparent method for backing up/exporting the Weaver webwallet, and also there's no clear "Send" button.  Definitely don't want to send my SILK into an abyss.
If your 10 Silkcoin(SILK) appear on your Weaver address on the explorer then you are alright. Your coins will be swapped for Silk(SLK), running on a new chain, rest assured you won't send it into an abyss.

Where do investors go to participate in the ICO, precisely?

Please visit https://silknetwork.org/register/ register there, and stay tuned until further notice. If you are new, read the OP, welcome aboard.

So I checked Weaver, it shows SLK address, but coins haven't been swapped from SILK to SLK yet.  When will the swap take place?

Thanks

Swaps on Weaver and Bittrex are happening in the within the next 24-48 hours.

Your accounts will be credited automatically.

We will update the thread once this is complete.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Silk Network: Silk(SLK), DarkSilk(DSLK) and Weaver on: September 18, 2016, 01:20:07 PM
Styling of Silk(SLK) was checked on Ubuntu and OSX.

The developers are aware of the small styling changes that are required for Windows and will complete these within the next 48 hours.

If you are running any other Linux distros, please notify us of any styling that needs amending that we may of missed.

We will update the community once the updated binaries are available for download.

If i see this in the source

then your devs havent tested it much

Debian is looking like Windows , Black in Black = nothing to see until u have luck to click on the right spot to open atleast 1 menu item, then u also can see the others

Our devs run Ubuntu and OSX environments and that stylesheet has over 1500 lines of styling.

The entire styling of both wallets was carried out by Spencer on OSX and Ubuntu.

If that was missed it was due to not testing on Debian and Windows.

As stated in the previous message, it will be fixed and updated binaries will be pushed.

However, we're actually really happy that the only bug/issue found so far is a colour problem Cheesy

I was able to build the Windows 32 bit Qt wallet and daemon.  I am still testing it and when complete, it will be added to our 1.0.0.0 release: https://github.com/SilkNetwork/Silk-Core/releases/tag/1.0.0.0.
I am working on building the Windows 64 bit Qt wallet.....

The 32 and 64 bit Windows versions (Qt and Daemon) are built and tested:  https://github.com/SilkNetwork/Silk-Core/releases/tag/1.0.0.0

And added to the OP as download buttons

The Silk Core v1.0 sourcecode is now live on GitHub - https://github.com/silknetwork/silk-core

There is currently a MacOSX binary available to download and the developers are currently working on the Windows (32/64bit) binaries.

Weaver is being brought offline in around 5 minutes time for the swap out.

The block explorer for Silk(SLK) can be found here - https://slkexplorer.silknetwork.org

Bittrex has now been sent the link to the Silk Core sourcecode to get the market and swap completed.

If you wish to add some nodes to your silk.conf please use these:

addnode=162.243.163.103
addnode=62.30.13.24
addnode=slkexplorer.silknetwork.org

The DarkSilk(DSLK) ICO will be starting around 24 hours later than initially planned.

This is to ensure that our attention is on Silk Core and its smooth release.

If you have any questions, do feel free to ask.

Weaver will be going offline in 1 hour from now (11pm EST) to carry out the swap and bring updates online.

This means you have up until that time to deposit any Silkcoin(SC/SILK) you want swapping in the first round of swaps.

The Silk Core source code is currently sat as a pull request on the main repository and being tested by Travis-CI, once it passes it will be merged.

Well all i can say this..

Once entering the world of the Freemasons it takes you and drives you to certain points.

believe, obsessions and god knows what more, all of this is personal/social progress.
anyone who goes this journy will find himself and choses his path.

My believe when you have been obsessed and can let go of this and can see in full spectrum
you can be part of crypto in his/her whole."understanding"

Good luck Hanz/Arteleis hope your Journey will be fruitfull. There is no black...

For the Silk team/community I have been critical been an ASSHOLE but i'm closer
than one might think not in terms of development or thinking power but in BELIEVE

This might not sound very strong/powerfull, but hee every social positive talk might maybe leading
in something  constructive.

In the last thread i talked about SILK price hitting 500sats range i was RIGHT hate me for it for what ever reason.

Now I will say 50K sats will only be the beginning doubt me hate me I dont care visionairs will be visionairs

Those that hold see the future!

I'm not sure what this means but this project is slightly more interesting.

no kidding, what was all that?

"waiter. I'll have what he's having"

not sure if there is a cutoff to deposit to weaver but please keep in mind the old buggy wallet is keeping some coins hostage(minting) and even though the above commands where entered, the wallet is taking hours to release the last of the coins(20k to go).

looking forward to the new wallet very much  Grin

There will be a couple of hours notice prior to Weaver going offline.

Also, your Silkcoin(SILK) wallets wont be going anywhere and the swap will continue.

Currently we are looking at prolonging the swap period for the length of the ICO.

If you dont get your coins swapped tomorrow, don't panic, you will.

Balance is showing.  Thank you and sorry for freaking out.  Perhaps my posts should have been deleted as they were.  This is crypto after all so please excuse my mistrust for the moment.  Orestes sent me a personal message and the issue was rectified quickly.

In regards to previous posts who is Arteleis? I am sorry I am new here.  I see in the intro he is credited for approaching this team? Cannot see any more info on the site or here.

 Thanks for any info.

He went by the name Hanz Lambrecht.

I dont know if this was his real name.

I worked with him through 2014 and 2015 with the wallet rebuild.

Then he simply vanished this year.
Needless to say we would not be here today without his effort he put in, not to mention his own money.

I hope we see his return some day. I really miss him.
Either way perhaps he planned his exit much like satoshi?

Interesting.  And perhaps sad.   That's a long time for any crypto dev to work and then vanish without reading any kind of benefit.  Seems he was well loved in the community.  I am Italian.  Never does a boss leave without being forced to or death becomes him. Or perhaps jail. And in jail.  Generally there is a messenger.   Nonetheless this is an interesting and strange thing about this project.

Oh don't be mistaken, he isn't a developer. He was reading a lot of books on Java and C++ as he wanted to code, but he wasn't a developer.

He had a strong passion for crypto and community values and believed in pulling the community together to achieve greatness.

He was having business related issues, tax, courts etc. so jail time is a possibility and to be honest, out of health and prison, we hope he is healthy and inside, than free and not alive.

Arteleis was effectively the driving force of the community between 2014 and the beginning of this year, then he simply vanished.

He approached Spencer Lievens initially and then Spencer Lievens hand picked the people that form the current team.

He was loved and is missed by all. We are sure the community can ellaborate some more.

Vanished? What do you mean approached? Like contracted?

He quite literally vanished, he was posting like normal and then just stopped posting.

Spencer Lievens did a lot of detective work, found out his name, town of residence, company names, addresses, phone numbers. He attempted calling the numbers associated with the business to no avail, numbers no longer in use.

Arteleis just messaged Spencer to help with the original Silkcoin and from that the current plans grew. He did help fund Spencer for around 4-5 months of his development work back in 2015 when he wanted Spencer to work full-time and devote his attention. There was no official contract, just a verbally binding agreement.

However, Spencer has not just done the work originally asked of him, he has brought all his asperations, ideas, knowledge and contacts to the table and is implementing them in the form of the Silk Network. If Arteleis were to return today, we believe he would be in awe of where we are right now, let alone where we are headed.

I am a dinosaur here.Watched everything behind the curtains.Ready to start again.
i only miss Arteleis, if we are here it is because of him. such a good dude!!!

We all do and we have a chair sat here waiting for when & if he returns.

The entire team simply wishes him good health and hopes he is ok.

Even if he were to NEVER return, it would be nice to know he is at least alive and marching on.

How do I send SILK from Bittrex to Weaver?

Your Silkcoin funds will be automatically swapped for Silk(SLK), these are unrestricted and you will be able to move them as you please.

You will automaticly get 'SC' -> SLK on the 17th. After that you can send SLK to the Weaver(, wallet or leave it on Bittrex). So It's not possible to send your 'SC' anywhere from Bittrex before the 17th.

It says Darksilk short term: release,
and long term: stabilization.

Does that mean that the stabilization of DarkSilk will not start immediately but instead after a period without confinements resulting in stability and backing?

**deleted image**

About the medium term stability goal. Yes, until the mechanism is in place, DarkSilk(DSLK) will fluctiate much like other crypto-assets. This means that scarcity in market supply, coupled with high demand, might drive price up. The development team needs time to setup the Weaver in order for it to work accordingly. Testing of our mechanism will take place, this could very well have a stabilising effect on the market, but at a reduced level.

More about DSLK, SLK and the stability mechanism within Weaver can be read in our brochure.

EDIT: brochure added to OP.

In ~4 hours Matthew will be pushing updates to Weaver. At that time Weaver will be offline temporarily.

We look forward to hearing your feedback.
