Update: During testing of the release candidate certain internal problems inherited from Dash 12.0 came to light. The problems interfered with Stormnodes and its dependent services including Darksend, Sandstorm and InstantX. We have been in contact with Evan Duffield from Dash and are now implementing the necessary changes from Dash 12.1, after implementation we will continue testing.
We will keep you posted asap.
Thanks for the update. dash is changing their whole groundwork code to sentinals (do not ask me what that is) in 12.1 will DSILK then update and follow as well ? Sentinel is a part of Evolution (Dash 0.13) and whether DarkSilk will follow any of that codebase depends on whether it is of use to the network.

InfernoMan (Alistair Clark) and Spencer Lievens worked together on DarkSilk and at the same time Transfercoin, in-particular the Masternodes and their functions. Good to hear you like the work of our developer

From the white paper I read that the new SLK, sequence, will be based on a permissioned ledger while the new DRKSLK will be a permissionless one. As it is now this will be some major changes to SLK. Am I misunderstanding it?
No major changes. They are both public. I would like a reply from one of the devs, sorry. You don't reply my question. It speaks of certificates to be issued in Sequence in the white paper: this means participation will be controlled. Both chains will always remain public.

Silk Network Rebranding Official Statement - 9th November 2016 DarkSilk will change to Dynamic(DYN), Stormnodes will be rebranding to Dynodes and Sandstorm will be branded as PrivateSend, along with InstantX staying as it is. Silk will change to Sequence(SEQ) with Masternodes being brought into the codebase branded as Seqnodes. Weaver will be simply called Duality and act as the main online portal. Silk Network is rebranding to the name Duality and the company Silk Network Ltd will pass control of the project to Duality Blockchain Solutions Ltd. These changes will not happen until after the launch of DarkSilk and not for a few months at least. If you have any questions after reading the whitepaper, please come to Slack where we will be happy to assist and answer as many questions as possible. Am I correct to assume that darksilk won't be called darksilk upon release? Branding still moving forward?
You are incorrect. DarkSilk will launch as DarkSilk. The rebranding will happen across the board simultaneously. Paperwork and the announcement of everything will happen well before any rebranding of wallets happen.

The only thing I want to know is how you did not know a month ago (at the beginning of ICO) that something which takes 6 months to code was not going to be ready in a month.
6 months to code? The team has been working on this project for 2 years. Development of software causes new issues as functions are added/changed, not to mention test time. Like ALL development, hurdles are hit and they must be overcome.

How long does it take for the silkcoin balance to show in my weaver wallet? I can see the silkcoin in my weaver wallet on the explorer but still not in my weaver wallet. It's been a while. a long while in crypto standards.
email m.langdon@silknetwork.org with your Weaver username and TXID and explain the situation, he will help.

Argon2d CPU mining has begun on the test network.
dDNS has an issue to rectify and Stormnode payments need a change and test.
The development team are working around the clock and are ensuring the software works and that peoples investments are protected.
The same as Silk(SLK) and its launch, DarkSilk will have 10000 blocks at the beginning of the chain that give no block reward (0DSLK).
This gives Silk Network the time to setup dnsseeders, full nodes, add checkpoints, forward the code to bittrex and have a secured network.
At the point the above is done, the codebase will be released publicly.

due to low vol. SILK moves to 10th page of bittrex, where almost every coin going to be delisted shortly
And yes quite frustrating as well, as soon as Silkcoin was launched on bittrex it was abandoned to 'finish' darksilk. The ico started and halfway through talk about a name change and major partnerships which were never announced or even hinted at. Why are you guys trying to kill your own work? Every investor not in your tight knit group of 10 people that posts here are chastized off this forum or deleted for relevant questions. Feel realy stupid for getting sucked into this. Abandoned? Work has been done to Silk, that is why it moved up from version 1.0.0.0 to version 1.0.1.1 The ICO funds were held in a 4/6 MultiSig address and at the end of the ICO, funds were distributed accordingly for work and time committed to the project.

We are going to work on going with an easier implementation of Argon2d with CPU mining with a Spork to increase memory cost and parallelism once fast-verify is completed.
We will require some time to test and we will report back within the next 48 hours with info.
Binaries will be released and we will be forwarding this code to Bittrex.
So you guys are going to implement Argon2d differently and then change it up later? In an effort to push the release out as soon as possible? Correct.

which they are working on. If the business fails. It doesnt mean your able to sue them
Guess we'll wait and see kid. The development team hasn't released DarkSilk because the code is not functioning as intended and in turn they are protecting your investment. Be patient.

I have had situations where I have completely lost a wallet and after installing another wallet I use importprivkey <privatekey> <"optionallabel"> and import them all. Save me a LOT of $$$$
Wow I hope I don't get there, guess you were lucky to save the keys The question is or will be in case of trouble: which one of the keys I generated with this wallet should I import? Or just do them one by one and see the outcome Use coin control to see which inputs have a value. Export the private key of those addresses (dumpprivkey).

The SLK wallet works as a clock.
But the "Warning: Checkpoint is to old..." message won't disappear though the wallet is fully in sync with the network. Is this normal behavior?
Only if your running version 1.0.0.0 Seems like you haven't updated your wallet to the latest version. Download from https://silk.silknetwork.org the binary for your operating system. Version 1.0.1.1 Aha, the message disappeared! Please check the download link (64) on OP. The links now point to the correct versions. OSX currently hasn't got a binary built of version 1.0.1.1

It is not the developers or the job of Silk Network to chase your lost coins.
If you had sent them to Weaver, then maybe we can help.
