This might be the stupidest thing to ask. But still.... As pot is now legal there, can someone start an online website there to sell marijuana and hash?

The Swedish Pirate Party is one of the strongest and best organized of its kind in the whole of Europe. I don't know whether they accept BTC donations or not. But they are the strongest supporters of TPB in Europe.

Wow. I forgot how fraught with fakes and whatnot things are!
No, I am not going to download your fake xvid codec, unrecognisable website!
Well, you can install the K-Lite codec pack. It is completely safe and recognized by most media players. 99.999% of the media players will need no more codec files if you install it. Please don't download any unknown or unfamiliar codec packs.

It is? You cannot blame a currency when criminals use it Me and you will understand. But common people will never think so. They will say that Bitcoin is used by criminals, because it is easier and more anonymous to do so.

This doesn't mean that the whole Bitcoin community is made of scammers. It's true, it's easier to steal with Bitcoin now and we really need a standard centralized escrow service which can "verify" vendors and buyers, something like paypal (I can't believe I said that!) Not for everyone to use but some will find it useful A few weeks ago, I posted here for a similar system. Suddenly some of the senior users got ballistic and shouted me down. It will never happen. And Bitcoins will never become mainstream, unless such a system comes in to existence.

thank you melacs i remember when someone register on mtgox some information need submit and it can not be changed
First name Middle Name Last name Date Of Birth Country Of Birth
it means the hacker use my identity to pass the verification This is unbelievable. How came he got your ID papers? Either you stored your scanned copies in a compromised system, or someone close to you did the hack.

In Kenya, a bitcoin-based remittance provider named BitPesa is already creating the waves. So who knows? May be Africa will be the first to prove that Bitcoins can demolish the mighty WU.

exactly how could this be better than romneycare?
Less actual options, overwhelming costs etc?
Romneycare was much better than this one. Because Romney is an intelligent person who knows how to spend money, unlike the idiot Obama.

He talk to gay population on this forum not to you guy. easy ... lol... what percentage of the population here is actually gay? I heard somewhere that 2% of all bitcoiners are female. So my guess is that the gay population will be less than 2%. Back to the topic, to the OP. If you sold your BTCs for $100 a month ago, then there is nothing you can do now. Even if you buy BTC at current levels, you'll get only 1/8th of your original BTCs. Still something is better than nothing.

It's not their fault your account got hacked.
No. In this case the Mt Gox is also equally responsible for the hack. They were the ones who accepted fake documents from the hacker and passed them.

in this community, like all others, there will always be dishonest people.
Agreed. But the problem is that in the Bitcoin community, the proportion of scammers is much higher than that in other fields. And this is preventing Bitcoin from becoming mainstream.

If they really start acting against scammers that lurk in the bitcoin community it's more likely that we will see this community getting decimated. Just check out the scam section and it's size.
I really want the scammers to be removed from the Bitcoin scene. I don't care whether it will decimate the community or not. I don't want dishonest people here.

Hmm... I found this article interesting. Cryptoprevent is also mentioned in it. According to them, Cryptoprevent was created by John Nicholas Shaw, CEO and developer of Foolish IT, a computer consultancy based in Outer Banks, N.C.

However it seems that the concensus move is mBTC first, and µBTC later if necessary. I'm okay with that. I agree. For the time being, lets proceed with mBTC. We can use uBTC later, if it is necessary. Satoshi and nBTC are completely useless as far as I am concerned.

Suing Mt Gox will never work. Since they are based in Japan, you need to contact a Japanese lawyer. Suing them in the US will never work, because they don't have any assets in the US.

I have never purchased bullion for Bitcoin. But one of my friends purchased a 1 Oz gold coin through BMR. At that time the rate was 1 BTC = ~ $100. He is cursing himself now.

I don't think that it was Mt Gox. In 2010, Mt Gox wasn't dealing with that much BTCs. Those coins belonged to some other exchange.
There was no "other exchange" before MtGox. Bitcoin Market was before Mtgox. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/HistoryNew Liberty Standard was established in October 2009. It dealt with tens of thousands of Bitcoins everyday before it closed down.

Mixers are really not needed anymore. If you want to mix your coins, simply register with any exchange, send your coins to them, create a new wallet, and withdraw your coins from the exchange to that wallet. Bam! Your coins are now untraceable.
I don't think this will work. The exchanges maintain logs. If you are sending dirty BTCs to the exchange, then they will be easily recognized.

Here is a handy table for those that need it. I don't understand the logic of using Nano Bitcoin. Bitcoin will never reach a value which is high enough to justify using the term "Nano Bitcoin". Even Satoshi is excessive.

I AM PRETTY CONFIDENT OUR GRANDCHILDREN ARE THE NEW WEALTHY ELITE, GENTLEMEN (and bitchick)... NOT US!! DEAD SERIOUS
If you are confident that your children will not sell off the coins which they inherit, then may be. BTC can reach the million mark by 2050 (latest). So may be our kids will be rich too.
