22021  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-12-19 Jiji Press: BOJ "Very Interested" in Bitcoin on: December 23, 2013, 07:44:51 AM
Mt Gox is operating from Tokyo for the last 3 years and the BOJ woke up only now? Still it is better late than never.  Grin
22022  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does wikipedia remind of you the beggards on this forum? on: December 23, 2013, 07:02:55 AM
Change their policies... profit?

May be. They have expelled a large number of the old admins and senior editors. Most of the current admins are close to Jimmy Wales. So soon we can expect a change in the policies...... and ads in the Wiki.
22023  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can someone lend me 0.1 bitcoin? on: December 23, 2013, 06:53:19 AM
Add a signature to your profile and start posting here. For 1,000+ posts, you can get somewhere around 0.2 to 0.4 BTC.

So start working!

...Point is that hydro is nearly one viable option to compensate the renevables.

Does not matter.  Hydro is tapped out, while power needs are growing by 2% a year (USA, but probably at least that, worldwide).

A 'tapped out resource' does not compensate for anything which is trailing behind in production...

Oh god.. I don't want any more hydro power dams. Just take a look at this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belo_Monte_Dam

Another 122,200 acres of Amazon forest gone. And more than 600 species of fish will become extinct.

There is also a proposal for another dam at Babaquara. It will destroy 1,517,000 acres of Amazon forest.
22025  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-12-21: Chinese Bitcoin Exchange OKCoin Accused of Faking Trading Data on: December 23, 2013, 06:43:14 AM
First we should congratulate the law enforcement authorities. This is not the first time that they are acting against those scammers who con Bitcoiners. Only a few weeks ago, they had arrested those criminals behind the GBL scam.

You can always reformat the computer, right?

Yes. But what if your personal files are seized and you can't use them?
22027  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-12-22 ZD Net - CryptoLocker's crimewave: A trail of $$$ in laundered BTCs on: December 22, 2013, 04:26:54 PM
I guess they will just sit on them for years and hope they get forgotten about.

Hmm... that will be a bad idea. The cyber-crime agencies normally find criminal hackers within 6-7 months time. If they want to use the money they stole, then they should spend it before getting caught.
22028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: December 22, 2013, 04:16:56 PM
no hooker is worth $1000 lol

You should say this to Eliot Spitzer.  Grin

He paid $4,300 to Ashley Dupré, and that too for just half an hour.
22029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why switching to mBTC won't increase Bitcoin price. on: December 22, 2013, 04:12:14 PM
The reason why we should shift to mBTC is not to increase the prices. The whole purpose is to make it look like more affordable to the newbies.
22030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There have to be so many people who know who Satoshi really is on: December 22, 2013, 04:10:02 PM
Satoshi was not a woman.  But his mother was.  She threw away his two computer with all of his bitcoins on them shortly after he died.

lol..... Did he died of a drug overdose, after injecting himself with all the cheap stuff which he got from Silk Road?
22031  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you believe in Aliens? on: December 22, 2013, 04:08:27 PM
Quite funny to learn that almost 80% of the users believe in aliens..... lol. I like aliens... especially in Hollywood movies.
22032  Other / Politics & Society / Re: State of Vermont ( Single Payer Healthcare ) puts Obamacare to shame!! on: December 22, 2013, 04:02:35 PM
Just eliminate the greedy medical insurance companies. Then the healthcare will be affordable to every single resident in the US.
22033  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will China go to war with Japan? on: December 22, 2013, 04:00:48 PM
You should watch less movies. The locked gun breechblock withstands the gunshot itself and can't cope with a hand grenade, lol. Though you can indeed damage the gun barrel...

Anyway there is only a very low chance that tanks will be used during a hypothetical China vs Japan war. Most of it will be fought in the ocean.
22034  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Recent Yemeni Drone Strike on Wedding Party of 15 is not CIA's Fault on: December 22, 2013, 03:59:14 PM
And all because they just don't want to risk losing their own precious soldiers live's, but don't mind wasting the lives of civilians in the process.

For the American military, the lives of the Asians are worth next to nothing. If they want to eliminate Al Qaeda, then they should round up all those Saudi and Qatari sheikhs who do the funding. But they don't have the balls to do that, do they?
22035  Other / Politics & Society / Re: On the topic of climate change... on: December 22, 2013, 03:57:19 PM
I know many of us have been taught so HARD that it's real and it's bad and it's just gonna get worse because "Scientists" say so, but those who actually look at the numbers and dig into the research find that the numbers have been fudged so much that those graphs should look nothing like that.

I am saying this quite a few times. If you think that the data is fudged, then give me the proof. Do you have any proof to contradict the argument that the CO2 levels rose from 280 ppm to 400 ppm in the last 100 years?
22036  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-12-22 ZD Net - CryptoLocker's crimewave: A trail of $$$ in laundered BTCs on: December 22, 2013, 03:37:03 PM
yeah that sucks but we have to deal with it.

Still I don't understand it. They have collected tens of thousands of coins. How can they spend all of them without getting caught?
22037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you store all your wealth in BTC? on: December 22, 2013, 03:24:57 PM
Oh! Come on! Who will risk all his money on Bitcoin? If you are a hard core BTC enthusiast, then 20% should be the maximum limit. That doesn't man that I don't have faith in Bitcoin. But rather, I have quite a bit of bad experience with various HYIPs.
22038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin at your local farmers markets! on: December 22, 2013, 03:18:34 PM
Farmers are losing a large part of their profits to third party agents and payment processors. Bitcoin is a small step to prevent this exploitation.
22039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Satoshi is dead at this moment? on: December 22, 2013, 03:16:41 PM
Satoshi Nakamoto is a code name for the bitcoin project.
It's not a person.

That's what I have been saying for the past many months. And the project was run by a large number of people. It wasn't dependent on a single individual.
22040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was the 90,000 BTC transaction? on: December 22, 2013, 03:14:46 PM
I don't think that it was Mt Gox. In 2010, Mt Gox wasn't dealing with that much BTCs. Those coins belonged to some other exchange.
