22341  Economy / Economics / Re: EU nations agree rules on bank bailouts - replay of Cyprus bank crisis on: December 12, 2013, 05:01:27 PM
I wouldn't hope for this. Remember bullion gold and gold coins confiscated after/during the Great Depression in the USA?

Quite possible.

This is way it can be kind of smart to move some of your national fiats into Bitcoin or another altcoins. Couse they can not check how many you have on your wallet addresses.

The bankers might be greedy, but for sure they are no idiots. If they can't seize your bitcoins, then they will make the possession of the same a criminal offense (talking about an extreme scenario).
22342  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-12-11 Child Labor in Bitcoin Mines Exposed on: December 12, 2013, 04:58:30 PM
Kids need cash, just like adults. Should be just give it to them, and teach them nothing, or make them mine bitcoins and teach them about the future of money. I vote the latter!!

I agree. This wasn't abnormal in the older days. Kids used to help their parents with work whenever they had time. Today's kids are busy updating their Facebook status and playing Xbox, that they don't have anytime for other meaningful activities.
22343  Economy / Economics / Re: EU nations agree rules on bank bailouts - replay of Cyprus bank crisis on: December 12, 2013, 04:55:54 PM
I am glad that they are only seizing the bank accounts. At least the real estate and the bullion assets are safe (aren't they?).

Yep it is "ONLY" for bank accounts...

That was sarcastic.. lol... What I meant to say is that no assets are safe. Be it bank accounts, or be it bullion. Greedy bankers can take anything, as long as the government supports them.

Before the Cyprus haircut, did anyone even thought in their wildest dreams that all their bank balance will be given to the bankers?
22344  Economy / Economics / Re: 927 People Own Half of All Bitcions on: December 12, 2013, 04:53:32 PM
again, addresses are not people...

No. I wasn't talking about addresses. I was talking about people. There are thousands of wallets right now with more than 1K BTC.

Did you knew that this article is from 2008?
Also , just a quick view on the main page where you can see 20 titles with disaster , apocalypse and you'll realize what kind of paper you're quoting there.

I agree that there is some amount of exaggeration. But it is no secret that right now that more than 1 million Somalis live in the EU. I am not talking about Nigerians, Kenyans.etc. Just the Somalis alone number more than 1 million.
22346  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine... Revolution. on: December 12, 2013, 04:47:54 PM
I don't know about that but I do believe China has invested heavily in Iraq and Africa.  It's clear they are trying to widen their sphere of influence but I think they're trying to do it silently.

I think they are harmlessly trying to dump their excess male population. Angola is a classical case.

It's important to remember though that the market cap of the US dollar is a multitude of times higher than the market cap of Bitcoin. If Bitcoin's market cap was as high as the US dollar, the wealth would likely be more evenly-distributed.

Important point. Many of these 927 people will cash out within the next 1-2 years. Only a few months ago, we had around 1,200 people with more than 1K bitcoins. Now the number is down to 0.9K.
22349  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I get my BTCs back from deceased Vibanko? on: December 12, 2013, 03:21:02 PM
You should directly contact Patrick Strateman. He might be able to help you out, if he is till having the backup files.
22350  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will bitcoin reach $10,000 one day...? on: December 12, 2013, 03:19:01 PM
It will never reach 10000$. Not even 2000$. Who is ready invest and buy for such amount?

What is the purpose of spending too much for bitcoins in the future?

Activity of 1 and you are making such heavy predictions. You joined this forum today. Why you became suddenly interested in BTCs, when you think that the price is going to go down permanently?
22351  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your view on shale gas exploration ? on: December 12, 2013, 03:15:04 PM
If you want to spout simplistic bullshit about conspiracies, I suggest you try wikipedia instead.

I was one of the most active editors in Wikipedia until 2011. I know very well how the propagandist organizations are using it right now.. I will not use it even for basic information.
22352  Other / Archival / Re: I sold everything at $158/159 this morning on: December 12, 2013, 09:31:15 AM
well, it did go down to 50, 55, and 65 at different times. so.... not too far off.

In Mt Gox, the lowest was around 69 (after the $ 261 peak in April). Those who bought BTC then are currently sitting on top of 1,500% profit.

2013.12.11:

Top100 ↑22k
Top1000 ↑16k

Some of the top wallets are owned by Exchanges. That is why you are seeing the uptick.
22354  Other / Politics & Society / Re: History of Russia on: December 12, 2013, 09:24:51 AM
It doesn't matter how many people they would have had, the communist system would have collapsed regardless.  You only need to look at China with it's more than a billion people and it is not more powerful than the US to know that population, while important, is not the determining factor.

Communism is a failed ideology. But Russia would have flourished even under a communist regime, as it had a strong base (literate people, productive population, vast amounts of natural resources.etc).
22355  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does wikipedia remind of you the beggards on this forum? on: December 12, 2013, 09:22:15 AM
i wasn't clear about that.. i don't have a problem with wikipedia soliciting for donations. but it's just that they are too dumb or lazy to actually try out BTC. i mean they could get it converted to fiat easily, but they still won't do it.

I was an active user in Wikipedia for the past many many years. I had more than 30,000 edits to my name. From 2011, most of the sections in Wikipedia were under the control of organized cabals. I wrote to Jimmy Wales many times warning against this. But many of the users who voiced against this were later banned. In the section I was following, the leader of the Cabal was from Manchester, known by his alibi "Simon Tushingham". Despite this guy committing all sorts of one-sided edits, Wales supported him. Tushingham frequently bragged in Wikipedia that he regularly talked to Wales in his cell phone and were good friends in real life. I had enough and quit Wikipedia in 2011. I know many more who did the same.

Wikipedia is similar to a ponzi scheme. They publicized themselves as a "free" and "unbiased" online encyclopedia. Once they had enough following, they kicked out the old users and showed their true colors.
22356  Other / Off-topic / Re: Silkroad 2.0 on: December 12, 2013, 09:14:36 AM
i've heard some stories where the postal service will send an undercover agent and ask for your signature.. that's how the prove it, apparently.

Even if we give our signature, we can claim that we have no idea about the contents in the package. Can't we?
22357  Other / Off-topic / Re: Silkroad 2.0 on: December 12, 2013, 08:20:47 AM
Aren't the majority of people imprisoned in the US due to drug related charges actually users with only small amounts of drugs found with them?

In 90% of the cases, the drugs which were "found with them" were actually planted by the FBI or the cops.
22358  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Draw on: December 12, 2013, 08:17:47 AM
From the next WC onward we'll have 40 teams right? I heard that the FIFA is looking to increase the participation from Asia and Africa. So each of the groups will be having 5 teams from 2018 onward.
22359  Other / Archival / Re: I sold everything at $158/159 this morning on: December 12, 2013, 08:14:53 AM
My guess is OP has no stake in BTC anymore.

OP is quite a bit active here. So there is a possibility that he had bought some coins a few months after he sold them, albeit at a higher price.

What are entry requirements for Somalia?

Just hire sufficient private security get some land there and settle in.

Which Somalian country? There is no unified government in Somalia. Currently it is consisted of a dozen or more "breakaway" states such as Puntland, Somaliland, Jubaland, the region under Al Shabab.etc

Also, knowledge of German language can help in some places:
