2241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 13, 2014, 07:19:23 AM
Hi, I have enough of trying so I ask :
Why can't I refresh my wallet ?
Error: wallet failed to connect to daemon (http://localhost:8081). Daemon either is not started or passed wrong port. Please, make sure that daemon is running or restart the wallet with correct daemon address.
My client is launched, synchronized and the blockchain has been saved. So why ?
I stop my firewall, antivirus, nothing.
I can make Monero, Fantomcoin & Quazarcoin working perfectly on both Windows and Linux.
is your dameon running??

Yes of course. I said the client but I meant the daemon.

I encountered something along those lines a few days ago. I updated to latest binaries and it synced fine.

Try downloading latest binaries from their site and refreshing the wallet again.

I want to upgrade my graphics card, which graphics card is best bang for buck at the moment?

You're off-topic here, but I'll try.

If you want to mine scrypt, forget GPU and buy ASIC.
If you want to stick with ASIC-resistant algo like X11, try a rig with a few NVIDIA 750Ti. They eat a lot less power than AMD.

Better start your own topic than stretching this here.
2243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: May 13, 2014, 07:08:07 AM
Whoops, what a beautiful colour wheel we have at the stats page! Are we trying something new with the diversity of coins? Maybe a higher risk - higher reward tactic, which I do like.

Yes I saw that to yesterday and it looked wonderful and now profit is 0.00430901 BTC/1Mh  Grin
But looks like we are back mining ~50% LTC again this morning, well well I'm sticking with Waffle for the time.
Otherwise I had plans to move my rigs to Coinshift.com.

You're not going to get any better profit margins.

That's about right. In past I have switched among many Multipools in hopes of better profitability but have returned to WP and now I'm sticking with it.

The coins will get momentum based on their features and public acceptance; others will just die, so their name-conflict doesn't matter much in the log run.
At least that's my point of view.

Exit Poll survey giving 240-290 seats to NDA means Modi will be next Prime Minister of India.

Times has printed headlines today: "Ab Ki Baar, Modi Sarkaar"
2247  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Indian General Elections 2014 on: May 13, 2014, 06:52:09 AM
The latest opinion poll results which we have from India (provided by Madhusudhan, Statistical analyst and psephologist ,Delhi, India):

Looks about right; but what are those purple and magenta areas?
2248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 13, 2014, 06:03:44 AM
no, this bytecoin was a bitcoin fork/copy

So why do they have the same name?

this is different, first bytecoin.

Uh... what?

http://bytecoin.org is the first and original Bytecoin.

Every other Bytecoin came later and chose to have the same name; maybe unintentionally.
2249  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: 50BTC.com on: May 13, 2014, 05:59:27 AM
I've taken down my warning since the pool op has responded to me in private, however this means they are monitoring this thread and the onus is on the pool op to respond to support requests on this thread and users to use their own discretion when mining here (moderators are not meant to act as police).

They responded to you because you are a moderator. I do not think us "common" members have the privilege to get a response from 50BTC regarding our "hacked" balance  Embarrassed

Did anyone have a partial or complete balance restored?
(Silence... I don't think so)

Some people have reported partial balance correction. Mine was not restored. I admit mine was very low, something around 0.35 BTC or so, but I haven't received any of it.

So they're watching this thread, but will not respond to anyone. That's nice of them, isn't it?

And the forum won't label them as scam pool. So I think the only option left now is to not mine with them and advise everyone else to do the same. What better way to kill a pool?

nice choice of coin's name
but it seems dev not active promoting anymore
hope someone create footballcoin

Actually the coin is going the other way instead of developing. Many things that were working at the coin launch aren't working now -  block explorer, pool etc.

And the developer rarely responds here; also they're way off their 'development plan' they posted on their site.

No , the coin is not going the other way. It's dead and not moving a bit.

2253  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Pizza for bitcoins? on: May 12, 2014, 12:22:44 PM
I checked his address's blockchain. It used to have 81,000BTC+ Bitcoin and now zero!

He himself said that he has spent almost all of his BTC. He now owns BTC in single digit  Shocked

I thought there were no new members elected in polling. How did Pierce come into picture?
2255  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [UNRESPONSIVE POOL OPERATOR NOT PAYING] 50BTC.com on: May 12, 2014, 11:34:40 AM
Wait, it happened AGAIN?  I only peek at the thread once in a while, but I always assumed people were still talking about the first time.

That's what I thought... I thought members are still rambling on about the "hack" back in October. Apparently, this is fresh new incident. I bet there are a LOT less victims this time round, no one mines there anymore  Cheesy

You'd be surprised to see the hashrate they're showing on their pool. Some LARGE teams are consistently mining there.

Must we concern about the hard fork ?

Just make sure to update to latest wallet.

How come coins need to be mined?

How did you end up on this forum?
2258  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: May 12, 2014, 11:31:19 AM
I tried to watch 12 Monkeys but the movies is weird. It got pretty good ratings BTW.

This was exactly my reaction when I watched it. I watched it twice though.

2260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Reason why everyone is offloading their gridseeds? on: May 12, 2014, 11:28:31 AM
I just had a guy offer me 500 new gridseeds at $40/piece

that make sense to me that 9 MH for $1,000

the best deal right now is the Hashra 30 MH unit for $3,635 and that's $120/mhs

these gridseeds are $111/mhs

can't beat it and at 7 watts each I can run over 100 of them off an 800 w power supply.

See if you can get Gridseed BLADE miner instead of 5-chip units. Blade units will be easier to manage and probably you'd get a better deal.
