2241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why choosing instant withdrawal casinos on: May 26, 2023, 11:39:09 PM
A lot of reputable casinos are going towards instant withdrawals now so that shouldn't be an issue at all IMO. Casinos who once did this delay in withdrawal confirmations are really wanting the player to lose patience and just play once more, however other casinos that didn't automate withdrawals before do not allow players to use their funds while a withdrawal request is in progress. If all casinos impose the latter rule, I guess if withdrawals need confirmation then they can still do it no problem - players won't be tempted to play more on their website and lose more than what they should.
2242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a Gambler and a Die-Hard Fan of a Club Would you Bet Against your Club on: May 26, 2023, 05:22:51 PM
My support has its limits - I may support a particular club or team but if it might cause me to lose money in the long run then I might as well just watch on the sidelines and not bet at all. You can still support your club/team by not betting on them and just be there when they have games or buy their merch. But if you really want to make money and you know that your club is really up to no good when it comes to the match-up, you can be a degen and make money off of it. The question is, can your conscience do it? I guess not.
2243  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: May 26, 2023, 12:56:48 PM
Casino sites must notify users if the casino changes its terms and conditions to all its members because it is a form of service from the casino to its members. This can also provide comfort to its members and if they do not agree with the new rules of the casino, the members can do something like move to another casino or ask the support service.

But I think some casinos don't announce the new terms and conditions so many of the members are surprised and don't think that casinos are doing that. Stake recently updated their rules and notified them when users logged in to their accounts.

You’d be surprised on the amount of platforms and services related to gambling that do not send communications to their players regarding the change in their ToS. It is, IMO, a very unprofessional way of handling changes in the way the platform runs and it can also mean cheating the players as well. Also, a lot of players don’t dare check their emails for changes anyway, so that’s on them if something happened that they don’t know about especially if the platform sent email communications regarding the change that happened.
2244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win on: May 26, 2023, 09:50:07 AM
The father has principles, that's what I can see from here, and it's actually a good thing because he can educate his son whenever he wants to, and he's not coming from a place of hypocrisy but rather principles and beliefs. The son has all the right in the world to do what he thinks is best for the money. Personally, I wouldn't return it to the betting company but rather I will use that money to setup my small business and profit from there. The father might still see that as something that he's not going to approve as it's still using the money from the gambling proceeds but in this day and age, principles can only get you so far and you still have to do things in order to survive.

Kudos to the father for having principles, but the man who won the money should decide for himself on whether or not he's going to use the money or not.
2245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Experienced Winning Bets By Upsets on: May 25, 2023, 11:59:46 PM
It must take a lot of convincing yourself to bet for that underdog as I did try justify that Ryan Garcia is going to win over Gervonta Davis all be cause he has speed and long reach advantage. The rest of the users in the thread says Davis is certain to win and I'm just going against it.

A $20 bet could win can triple the amount unfortunately its a loss. The convincing is probably not good when the bookmakers already decided the gap of the odds.

It's certainly something that you might have seen at the moment that you thought would be a key thing. There are a lot of things that I thought would have change the outcome of the fight, but the thing is, if the oddsmakers already decided that huge of a gap, then there's something they know that we don't, and their models are really leaning towards whoever the favorite is and there is very little to almost no question about the winner of that fight. But yeah, it's still fine to bet low on these types of matches with that huge of a gap between the favorite and the underdog. It happens so much in Korean baseball and a lot of people in the know are cashing out good money on that sport.
2246  Economy / Economics / Re: For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance on: May 25, 2023, 11:44:19 PM
Maybe, just maybe, because the government believes they can utilize Musk's businesses to a certain extent. That's why they are supporting his businesses when he needs funding. Also, they know that Musk can generally get the money somewhere else through his assets so they can basically just give him whatever he wishes and it'll be at his doorstep when he wants to. There are a lot of perks when your business is literally a multi-billion dollar one with technologies that the government might be interested on. Also, these businesses failing might also translate to a lot of economic damage, so instead of letting it fail, the government can just go ahead and spend a little here and there to save it.
2247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't gamble if you don't have patience on: May 25, 2023, 10:47:42 PM
Because slot games don't require strategy and only expect luck, it doesn't matter how much people bet, because slot machines can make people rich quickly and can also make people poor. that's why I never liked this game besides because it's boring and doesn't require strategy so it doesn't have its own challenges.

To be honest, I prefer to play in games that use strategy at casinos because it might seem less boring than playing casinos, which sometimes makes your eyes get tired waiting for luck to come. but when luck doesn't come too then it will hurt when you lose in a row and spend money quickly.

In fact, we can enjoy slot games as a relaxation game, but only to relieve fatigue after busy work activities. slot games can be useful, if played according to the portion. I mean, without chasing victory.

Even though this type of game doesn't require a strategy, we can be entertained especially if luck is on our side. not infrequently, rewards from free spins provide good bonuses and can even get a jackpot. however, I don't agree if this game can make us rich quickly and vice versa. but for other types of live casino games, what you say can happen. one of them is the Blackjack game as the OP discussed in this thread, it can also be for roulette and even baccarat. types of Live Casino games can give you multiple wins in the shortest possible time. but actually, the essence of the message of this thread is don't gamble when we don't have patience.

Luck-based games are money sinks that is very hard to win on. Dice and slots are casino games that shouldn't be played if you're looking to make money in the long run. Perhaps there are cases in which you will be lucky enough to snag a win or two, but overall they aren't really that great of a money generator. Well in physical casinos, you can watch someone play slots for quite some time and once you see that they never really won anything, you can take their place and try to see whether the machine will give you something once it reaches one of its thresholds in giving out wins. You tail them and--as much as it may be considered a dick move--wait for them to lose and play on that particular machine with what your allotted budget is for the day for gambling and 'hope' to get some wins.
2248  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: May 25, 2023, 06:24:48 PM
ToS are what saves casinos from players that are trying to game the system in order to get the benefits for themselves. But it's also worth noting that ToS can be used by the platform to cheat their players off of their winnings as well. There are instances wherein a casino changed their ToS immediately and used that new ruling to retroactively impose the said rule to justify the bans that they did to some player accounts. Pretty sure not a lot of us will be reading the ToS fully or saving it, but it's best to immediately read the ToS after receiving suspensions or bans on your account on whichever platform that is and save that copy of the ToS just in case they decided to flip the switch and make it seem like you did a very serious thing that is against their rules and policies.
2249  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you consider moving abroad? on: May 25, 2023, 11:27:43 AM
With the nature of the industry I am in, it would be very hard for me to get jobs abroad. The qualifications are just very different between countries, although of course the expertise will still remain to be a plus but still, there'd be a lot of prerequisites and other such exams that I need to pass that I swore to never do again. If my job is centered on IT or generally just computer science stuff, I don't feel the need to go abroad and get better pay - I could just snatch a couple of remote consultancy jobs and I'm good to go. But being a professional working on the healthcare industry, it will be difficult to penetrate the job market on another country without relevant experience being on a higher position. Besides, I'm just providing for myself at the moment, and the salary I'm receiving for my job is higher than the median here in my country. I think I'm good.
2250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: May 24, 2023, 11:55:08 PM
I'm following the biggest Turkish team in CS:GO as well which are Eternal Fire. However they still seem like they are looping around the same thing at the end of the day. I couldn't even count how many times they have made changes in their roster. The biggest problem about this is that their insisting on bringing the same players to the team over and over again. This isn't actually a change for them. They are just returning to the point where they started.

For example they have parted ways with imoRR and but woxic has returned to the team to fill his place. The only real change happened with Calyx's being replaced by Wicadia who was in the academy team before. I hope there wouldn't be personal issues between MAJ3R and woxic again too because as far as I remember it was the reason why woxic left the team in the first place.
Woxic is a toxic player. This is the reason why he left C9. He is talented, but he is one of those players who uses his talent in an egotistical way. Because of this, there was a problem between him and the team. Afterwards, he left in the hope of getting invitations to other teams, but when no team made a move to take him, he had to go back to his old place. Everyone should put their egos aside and try to take Turkish CS to better places. For example, I see a drop in performance after xantares got engaged, which is not good for the team. That's why they put Wicadia, the best aimer from the academy team, in the main roster to increase firepower. It's true that Xfloud can clutch well in some places, but he lacks in aim. Now we can show this roster as the best roster in Turkey in terms of firepower. We see that Maj3r has increased his dr performance, which is not normally expected for an IGL to get this much frag. This is reflected as an extra motivation and performance for the team.

There are a lot of testaments saying that Woxic is indeed a toxic dude. He has raw aim, a great game sense, but unfortunately he's not a very good team player at all and prefers to blame his teammates over his mistakes. Even in regular FPL lobbies, he's being a dick according to some players and he's overall not a cool guy. Hopefully EF does something good to Woxic, like changing his attitude towards his teammates for the better and letting him realize that he's not the center of the world. Xantares could handle w0xic, but I'm not sure whether it does them good since the former is also affected by EF's internal issues as evidenced by his performances on their past matches.
2251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: May 24, 2023, 06:45:14 PM
Never. I haven’t been reprimanded to stop my gambling exploits because i know how to control my finances and my gambling urge. Fortunately, I know better when it comes to using my money into things that really matter. Unfortunately for your friend, he decided to be secretive about it, and he’s caught and now that’s another conversation between partners. They should not keep secrets about finances, especially if it might cause them problems later on.
2252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Casinos Should Do Survey From Time To Time To Assess You. on: May 24, 2023, 08:31:33 AM
I don't think casinos, especially the big ones need to ask their customers if they are using a VPN, because they usually spot it themselves.
They are always chasing multi-account bonus/promotion abusers and good bettors banned or limited by them, so it's one of the first thing they check IMO.
I guess it’s not their obligation anymore, as gamblers themselves should be responsible about it. And if ask if they are using VPN, I don’t think gamblers will put theirselves into danger so might as well they should be the first one protecting their privacy, the gambling site is only next to them. Though gambling sites have also a little responsibility about it, but mostly it all falls to the gamblers themselves.

It may not be the casino's obligation, but it's a nice thing to do to give back to their player base at least. Though you are right that ultimately, gamblers are the ones who should be looking out for themselves for them to not fall into the pit of gambling addiction, but there's also nothing wrong if there's a little tap on the back from the casino to their players who may slowly be developing into gambling addicts.

I'd support a platform that does these small things to their players honestly. Players can always turn off this option in their communication preferences, but I see no reason to turn it off honestly.
2253  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of artificial intelligence, chat GPT on the crypto market. on: May 23, 2023, 11:56:25 PM
It's not about the algorithms that can change everything; it's about the execution. Even the high-end bots in Wall Street don't care much about the algorithm but rather the speed on which they are able to execute a trade compared to others. Heck, they are elated even with a few millisecond improvement on their bots because that means everything. I don't think ChatGPT will make much of a difference in terms of trading. It can assist in creating bots, but not in execution trades itself.
2254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just.bet | The Web3 Casino You Deserve - Bet directly through your web3 wallet on: May 23, 2023, 02:07:26 PM
I went through a lot of Web 3 casinos these days, and the interface looked amazing, but I didn't see your T&C anywhere, which is very important for someone to know what he or she is going into before connecting his or her wallet and at the same time wagering.

I see you have a lot of threads that were moved to the token section, and your images on those ANNs are completely broken. Maybe it's a result of Imgur. Try using TALKIMG to reupload your images.

Try and make this ANN thread a lot more informative, including things that people are expected to see before actually going into it.

We will update the OP, thanks for the heads up. Btw we have the docs on the app. You can check it at https://docs.just.bet/justbet/

It would have been nice if people can just skim through the content here on your ANN thread rather than you directing us to go through different web pages to get what we need. That's the purpose of ANN threads: keeping it simple for the viewers and prospective users of the platform while also getting them hooked with your pitch. For me, it's just a picture of the logo and nothing else, and the docs you have just posted led me to an error.

Hopefully you can revamp this ANN thread with a bang and post what we need to see. The site interface looks clean so far, but it's not enough to just scratch the surface and not see what's inside. We won't really try it out unless free bets are handed out for a review, honestly.
2255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers understood the game on: May 23, 2023, 01:14:03 PM
The thing is, they are small time winners and big time losers, I mean they lose more than winning, it's been two weeks and two of them tell me about their loss and gains, but they make it feel normal, to them it really is, not like the crypto investors today, always in hurry to double their money, some are even scared of investing in Bitcoin, which is the safest of them all.

I personally wouldn't treat losses as something completely normal. Well, making it feel normal is okay, but if you develop this mindset that losing is okay most of the time, you will no longer have that drive to improve your craft and get some wins on you. I mean, I get it, gamblers are generally risk takers compared to the rest of the population. But I'd prefer to have someone on my side that calculates their risks and assesses the situation before getting their feet wet and their pockets empty in hopes of securing a profit.

A right balance of being a risk taker and being a conservative investor is what you need to be - you can't lean more on one side and expect to win steadily over time.
2256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Politicians behind the development of gambling platform on: May 23, 2023, 12:50:32 PM
So a Politician who is also a great businessman then decided to be part of the most trending market in the world as of now, what's wrong with that?
Who is stopping you to own a share or part of a gambling company if you are licensed and paying all your taxes. I don't have any problem with this.
I don't see anything wrong with a politician having there own casino or having there own gambling platforms. It may be very wrong or against the law in some countries but here, there is nothing wrong. What I know is that the politician would not want the public to know that they have shares in a particular casino or owns it. A politician that is a business man would not mind creating there own casino, allowing gamblers to make bet and earn if they keep making winnings.
This is a private enterprise and a politician have the full right as a citizen of a country to have shares or have there own casino ones they are paying there tax.

Anyone can have a gambling platform fully operational as long as he has interest in doing such and have the experience needed as well, irrespective of the profession we are handling, we can still own a gambling platform but that doesn't mean we should have one through an illegal means by making government funds diversion on our own personal interest and business than directing them to the appropriate chanels for national building, money embezzlement is common with the politicians but that doesn't judge the fact that all of them were involved in this kind of corrupt manners.

This is why most countries don't really allow the government officials to be involved in such. It is a messy situation the moment a politician enters gambling world the same time he is holding a position in the office because it might display a conflict of interest especially if it is made known to the public. Government officials were trusted by their constituents to prioritize the welfare of the community and the people in it. Hence, if it came to their knowledge that the official they trusted and voted were operating gambling houses which can corrupt the players in the process and do more harm than good for those people who lack discipline, then their name will forever be tainted.

Regardless of profession, yes, one is entitled in their own way of generating profit. However, if you are rendering public service, you must be more careful in choosing career paths that will not harm anyone along the way. After all, public officials took an oath that they have to swear by and uphold.

I don't think politicians with thick skulls understand the concept of "conflict of interest" at all.

There are even politicians who are vying for a certain position in the government in order to put forth their agenda on their own personal businesses. This is why agriculture, infrastructure, and land development are the most sought-after titles in some countries because there are tons of money to be made in these particular industries. Then again, it's appalling that the people are still voting for the same faces come election time and expect that some things will change this time around.

So long as people give power to these crooks over them, things like this would constantly occur and happen even in broad daylight.

2258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: increased Youtube Gambling ads? on: May 22, 2023, 10:34:15 AM
Perhaps it's based on what you search on Google as well. I have my gambling account separated from my personal account, and I never had even one single gambling ad on my personal account - not even once. Whereas on my gambling account, I have loads of different websites and casinos being posted on my Google ads and on Youtube whenever I try to watch something and forget to switch accounts.

You do know that Google is good at snooping whatever search you made from any of your devices using a Google account and push you ads based off of those searches, right? So yeah, that could explain why you see a surge of Youtube gambling ads - because the account you're using to watch Youtube has been sending gambling-related queries to their search engine or whatever website you visit.
2259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wife discovers husband's hidden Bitcoin during divorce proceeding on: May 22, 2023, 09:50:18 AM
This is why you do not disclose your crypto stash to someone else, not even your spouse unless you trust them with your life or you believe that they aren't with you just for the money. The last one is very difficult to prove especially nowadays that a lot of people only want to exist and be showered with affection and pampered with material things. That is why I do not really agree to speed dating up to a marriage, not unless you know your soon-to-be spouse since childhood and you are sure that they won't flip the switch if it ever comes to that.

Hopefully though, the husband gets to keep whatever crypto he has for himself. It's bullshit that your spouse get to keep half of what you built way even before you guys met while the other doesn't really help add any value to your life in case you get separated.
2260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Casinos Should Do Survey From Time To Time To Assess You. on: May 22, 2023, 04:53:39 AM
Not a bad thing honestly, though IMO it wouldn't be very much effective either.

People can just straight up lie with the surveys themselves and try to act as if nothing wrong is happening with them. Though of course, it will be a great effort from the platform if they are to conduct these wellness checks to their players every now and then in the form of surveys. But then, do not expect that these will help curb the number of problematic gamblers because they can simply choose to ignore these surveys or lie in it.

The point is, at least casinos and other gambling platforms are trying to connect to their user-base. Who knows, maybe some gamblers are just waiting for some tap on the shoulder to do what is right and that could be this survey.
