Big , big difference. Prosperous country and wealthy citizen.
Well... Gabon is prosperous... and it's citizens are wealthy. But such cases are quite rare in Africa. And that picture you have about Angola it's found in most Africa.
I tend to disagree. Most of the other African nations (perhaps with the exception of DR COngo) doesn't have as much natural resources per capita as the Angolans are having. However, I can agree that corruption and bureaucracy is everywhere.

Trezor is a bit too expensive, especially for people who have less than 1 BTC in their wallets. However, I think a lot of experienced users will go for it due to the added security.

I am using BTC-E for more than a year now. Never had a problem with them. Even the support tickets were answered in time. May be right now they are experiencing too much work load.

You didn't sell on this news did you ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I lost a few bucks in panic selling. Sold them after threads started appearing here. But soon realized that a mistake has been made and bought them back. Escaped without much damage.

Average daily trade volume in BTC-China is about 500,000 - 1,000,000 LTC in BTC-E.
The volume is around 2,000,000 - 2,500,000 LTC in OK Coin.

Good idea. But you should:
1. Printout in high-definition 2. Keep multiple backup 3. Use your own printer

Other than Bitcoin, I think Litecoin and Namecoin holds the most promise. I have lost my hope on Terracoin and Feathercoin.

someday these panic buyers will learn that to regulate means its no better than the usdollar
No. Government may be able to tax BTC transactions. But they will not be able to do much further.

China's population is rapidly ageing (so is Japan's, but the same can't be said about the US). If they want to start a war, then they should do it now. Right now the number of Chinese male citizens reaching military age annually is 10,406,544. This can decline in the future.
War is not about the quantity of young men. It's about missile/bomb and air superiority. The ability of a nation, to avoid demographic bleeding is also important in war. For example, Israel withdraw from Sinai in 1981, despite being much more technically superior than Egypt.

You are forgetting that not all oil-rich African nations are poor. There are also nations such as Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, which are quite prosperous. And the relative poverty in oil-rich Angola is due to the massive corruption and bureaucracy.

I will agree to it when robots are able to do something like this: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailytimes.com.pk%2Fimages%2F2007%2F11%2F25%2F20071125_i09.jpg&t=663&c=tL0WaQVSu5Ehtw)

Some coins seem to be on the move again right now !!!
Just a few minutes ago he moved 1,000 BTCs to another wallet. This one seems to be very old... probably associated with an exchange or something like that...

It will be interesting to know whether Chinese banks will be allowed to process cash withdrawals by BTC-China users. At this point of time, I think that it will be banned. Can create hardship for the users.. right?

Now in court, that's a different story ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . If you got married and accumulated bitcoins afterwards, half belongs to her. But who's to say you ever had an account ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . If she finds out you filthy rich after a few years and the value of bitcoins rockets up, you'll sure to be getting a letter from the courts to review your finances. If the ex-wife finds the guy filthy rich after few years, there is not much that she can do. The guy can claim that he got the wealth through legitimate means AFTER the marriage was dissolved.

The CCB statement says crypto exchanges must register. Obviously, not all exchanges will register, so the number of exchanges in China will go down, but at least only legitimate exchanges will stay. It should be a good thing. Bullish.
That is very good news. The only negative point I can think right now is that the fee is probably going to go up a bit (as there will be additional taxes and regulatory expenses).

Have been keeping a track on transaction volumes and China was doing around 90,000 - 100,000 BTC currency transactions every 24 hours, vs the second biggest market in the USA which was doing around 1/3 the volume.
Today China is down to zero.
I don't think its panic selling. There doesn't seem to be any selling.
What are you saying? I have just logged in to BTC-China. For the last 60 mins alone, the trade volume stands at 23,264.58 BTC.

Can anyone tell me how this is going to affect BTC-China and other Bitcoin exchanges which operate from China?
Some sort of government regulation is necessary, as we have seen scams recently (like GBL) in China.
|
|
|
No, I read the statement, it DOESN'T include exchanges, they said explicitly exchanges must be registered, with the"Ministry of Industry and Information Technology", which is in charge of the internet regulation, rather than financial regulation.
The statement was in Chinese. If you actually read it and if it is TRUE, then this is VERY GOOD NEWS.
