Freebitcoins.co.uk
We review lots of sites and methods to get free Bitcoins.

Can you add the Minecraft Faucet (link in my sig) to your site?

Do you know what the minimum system requirements will be?  Could I just pick up any old used Android device with WiFi and be able to play?
2263  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [warning] bitmit.net was sold secret without telling the community. on: January 08, 2013, 04:44:12 PM
Didnt they have a auction on their own site to sell the domain and entire site and source a month or two ago.
Yes, but the auction was cancelled, and it was publicly announced that it wasn't going to be sold after all.
2264  Economy / Goods / Re: What would you give me (can be physical or digital) for 1 BTC? on: January 08, 2013, 04:43:04 PM
Old books and board games, eh?

How about Masterpiece?

Eh, scratch that, it appears to be worth a lot of money for some reason.

Uh... not sure what else I have that would be interesting.  Mostly just the typical games, Yahtzee, Monopoly, Risk, Stratego, Life, etc.

Paying $100/coin doesn't matter if it's not your paypal account that is paying for it... keep that in mind.
2269  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why hasn't any of those nefarious regimes detonated a nuke yet? on: January 08, 2013, 12:17:43 AM
I've heard there are hundreds (if not thousands) of nuclear missiles unaccounted for across the world.  With some of them most certainly available on the black market, why is it that no terrorist groups have yet acquired and detonated one against someone that they don't like?  What is the limiting factor preventing them from doing so?

"I've heard"

Perhaps that's your answer right there. Where did you "hear" this information? A guy in a train?
A boat magazine? Rabble-rouser Alex Jones? A homeless guy dancing for fiddy dolla?
Am I wrong?

You seem to like to following me around the forum, besmirching my reputation. But you seem unable to provide any good arguements, only a confused tangle of illl-thought-out drivel.
Likely because your reputation deserves besmirching.  Plenty of counter-arguments have been made, but you simply ignore them.

Rounding is significant here, I guess. Here's my result with 5 minutes of Python:

Quote
Year 0 ending, 500 billies and 500 does (1000 goats)
Year 1 starting...
Year 1 ending, 600 billies and 900 does (1500 goats)
Year 2 starting...
Year 2 ending, 1000 billies and 1620 does (2620 goats)
Year 3 starting...
Year 3 ending, 1800 billies and 2916 does (4716 goats)
Year 4 starting...
Year 4 ending, 3240 billies and 5249 does (8489 goats)
Year 5 starting...
Year 5 ending, 5832 billies and 9285 does (15117 goats)
Year 6 starting...
Year 6 ending, 10335 billies and 16549 does (26884 goats)
Year 7 starting...
Year 7 ending, 18406 billies and 29493 does (47899 goats)
Year 8 starting...
Year 8 ending, 32803 billies and 52555 does (85358 goats)
Year 9 starting...
Year 9 ending, 58454 billies and 93644 does (152098 goats)
Year 10 starting...
Year 10 ending, 104155 billies and 166839 does (270994 goats)
Year 11 starting...
Year 11 ending, 185568 billies and 297267 does (482835 goats)
Year 12 starting...
Year 12 ending, 330635 billies and 529658 does (860293 goats)
Year 13 starting...
Year 13 ending, 589111 billies and 943721 does (1532832 goats)
Year 14 starting...
Year 14 ending, 1049653 billies and 1681477 does (2731130 goats)
Year 15 starting...
Year 15 ending, 1870221 billies and 2995974 does (4866195 goats)
Well, the problem is, PG and I came up with different equations based on the set of criteria.  I think PG made the assumption that all billies and does were 1 year of age at the start of the experiment, whereas I made the assumption that the age was already evenly distributed according to how the equation would eventually play out (i.e., 1/5 of the does were 5 years old, and thus were under the "mortality" rate, even in the first year).
2273  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitmit - Bitcoin shopping mall (Translators wanted) on: January 07, 2013, 10:18:23 PM
For your information and more transparence I want to tell you what the problem has caused:
It is a result of a failed bootloader configuration whereby I  could not boot the server properly and connect to it remotely. Due this I was not able to solve the problem very fast as I am used to do it and had to wait for the slow responses of my webhoster.

No data is lost (even if the server burned down I would have backups of all the data) and all funds are safe. Tomorrow the site should be back and we will talk about a redemption for all our users.

I am so sorry and hope you understand :/

PS: Auctions times will be extended
Sounds like a fair resolution (with regards to auction times being extended, etc).  Thanks for the detailed update.

Also, throwing it into Excel real quick-like, I calculated 244,032 billies and 418,341 does at the end of 20 years.
2275  Other / Off-topic / Re: (serious) Math brainiacs to figure how many goats... on: January 07, 2013, 10:05:00 PM
Starting with 1,000 goats, half of which are does, how many goats would there be at the end of twenty years given:

  • After one year of birth, a doe produces two offspring: One doe and one billy.
  • 80% of the billies are eaten (or succumb) when they reached maturity (usually within a year, but calculate it as a full year), with the other 20% gone when they reach two years of age.
  • Does are eaten after producing and weaning eight offspring (four live births). Figure five years total.
  • Figure a 20% mortality rate per year for does, thus not producing any offspring.

Thus, after one year, there would be 500 (original) - 400 (80%) + 500 (offspring)= 600 billies, and 500 (original)- 100 (20%) + 500 (offspring)= 900 does.
After two years, we calculate again ridding the 20% of the original billies plus the other 80% for the yearlings, and maintaining the 20% mortality rate for the does.

I'm guessing the Earth would be overrun with goats, but love to see if the math proves my suspicions.

Here's my calculation for year 1:

500B - 400B(eaten) - 50B(half of 20%) + 500D - 100D(# eaten each year) - 100D(20% mortality rate) + 400B + 400D (offspring, only after 1 year old) = 450B + 700D

I'll just have to disagree with you on that.
Infringements of other people's rights are not a matter of opinion. A rapist can't avoid being evil by just choosing to disagree with the immorality of his action.
Without discipline, children do not learn properly.
That's a story you are making up to justify your preconceptions. I know this because any time the question has been investigated scientifically "discipline" is shown to do the exact opposite of aid learning.
Most/all of the "scientific" studies are full of people who HAVE been abused as a child, thus negating the findings of physical discipline as a whole.  Find me a study of corporeal discipline that specifically discludes those who had abusive punishments, and maybe I will think differently.

I agree with the author of this article as far as what is appropriate and not appropriate with regards to physical discipline: http://voices.yahoo.com/physical-discipline-children-15327.html
2277  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Interest for Bitcoin penny auction site on: January 07, 2013, 09:27:31 PM
How many people in this community would be interested in a Bitcoin penny auction site?

For those of you not in the know, here is how such a site works:

  • User buys bids with Bitcoins, usually priced at a small amount so multiple bids can be bought with 1 Bitcoin
  • Every bid placed on an item raises the item's current price by 1 penny, or in this case a bitcent
  • Winner of auction pays final price of item
  • Item is delivered to user

Items put up for auction would be a mix of gift cards, additional site bids, Bitcoins, and potentially physical items.

Obviously, the process of buying bids to place on an item generates the primary revenue for the operation the site. It may be misleading to some when they see a user winning 20 bitcoins for some ridiculously low amount, like 1 bitcoin.

Thanks, I would like to hear the interest of the community.

Sounds like my site mokimarket!

The problem is that any penny auction site is basically considered a scam (even though anyone that has used my site know hows easy it is to win bitcoins), so you can't really get an active userbase. I've had my site up for a year and a half and I would say only 10% of auctions are profitable.  I tried to make it a marketplace by allowing users to post their own penny auctions but that didnt really catch on either. Seemed like a good idea at the time haha!
I don't really understand why people look at it that way either.  It's a form of gambling/entertainment, just like playing the slots or putting some chips down on the poker table.  I suppose when it is not marketed as such, people could call it a scam.
2278  Other / Off-topic / Re: Parents need to bring back the belt! on: January 07, 2013, 09:25:23 PM
There's a big difference between spanking to punish and hitting to the point of abuse.  HUGE.
No difference at all. What right do you have to punish a child at all, much less for failures on your own part?

If your child is too young to not to run out into the street then that child is too young to be let outside of arm's reach in an unenclosed outdoor area. If the parent allows the child to get into a dangerous situation like being able to run into the street then if anyone it's the parent who deserves punishment, not the child.

Any form of punishment for disobedience is automatically abusive, because no one has the right to demand obedience from another person. Parents only get away with it because they are physically more powerful than their children.
I'll just have to disagree with you on that.  Parents exist to raise their children, and that includes teaching them through discipline.  Without discipline, children do not learn properly.

Good profit ponzi scheme

Having: 100 FPGA and 200 ppl wiling to buy it.

1. Sell 100 FPGA to 100 ppl
2. Announce super-puper ASIC
3. Accept pre-payment, offer FPGA -> ASIC upgrade
4. Receive 100 FPGA back, send them to other 100 ppl
5. Offer them update, take money
6. Receive back 100 FPGA, dissapear
...
PROFIT: 100 FPGA + 200 FPGA payments + over 200 ASIC payments
Not near as much profit as actually running a legitimate business, funnily enough.  Which is why BFL is running a legitimate business, not a ponzi scheme.
2280  Other / Off-topic / Re: Parents need to bring back the belt! on: January 07, 2013, 08:11:15 PM
Anyone who hits a child to teach them that hitting is wrong is just having their own childish temper tantrum and needs to sit back and think for a second. That's like saying to your wife that that she shouldn't spend money while you are making some online purchases, that it is bad to eat chocolate cake as you stuff your face with cake, or telling someone that it is bad to kill people as you kill him.

This logical break is just terrible. If you make a rule you need to follow it. Kids are mirrors and absorb the behaviors exhibited to them. Kids that hit other kids have been taught that that is how you deal with people that frustrate you or don't give you what you want by their parents. The thought that parents would abuse their kids in the way is sickening. Imagine someone ten times your size beating you while telling you that beating people is wrong. Like what the hell is wrong with people who can't analyze this for 2 seconds before they act on it.
I don't think I'd spank if my kid hit someone, but for other actions instead.  Like if they're repeatedly disobeying me (perhaps running out into the street and refusing to come back, endangering themselves in the process).  I'd warn them that they'd get a spanking, then follow through with it if they were still defiant.  Next time they run out into the street and I warn them they'd get a spanking if they didn't come back, they'll probably come back.  Most kids don't care that they "could get hit by a car" if they've never seen or heard of that actually happening.  They're either too young to understand risks like that, or old enough to understand, but think "it won't happen to me".  Spanking, on the other can, is very real to them at either age.

I think if my kid had a problem with hitting people, I wouldn't be spanking them to teach any lessons - it is obvious that that is the wrong form of punishment for them.

There's a big difference between spanking to punish and hitting to the point of abuse.  HUGE.
