2281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin continues the positive trend today, is the altcoin market in trouble? on: November 13, 2020, 01:33:00 AM
DeFi tokens are mostly shit tokens and they will be killed in price. It won't happen in matter of hours or days but after months the shit tokens will fall down to the hell price of zero.

Altcoins will rally and jump into their bull mode soon. I am waiting for their bull mode next one or two seasons. When whales finish their works and games with bitcoin, altcoins will have their turns and show their strength.
2282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why did Hal Finney lie and say the 10BTC was the first transaction he received? on: November 13, 2020, 01:16:13 AM
Thank you BayArenaCoins for your investigations. It shows the good things we can get from public ledger. Everything is public but your findings don't change the fact that Hal is the first one who received bitcoin from satoshi. In addition to this, Hal is a very first contributors to the developments and growths of bitcoin.

Without Hal, maybe the world would have someone else joined and cooperated with satoshi but in real life, only Hal is the first one.

About fee estimators, from what I understood, if they don't run full node to get real-time updates for mempool, their tools will calculate wrong fee estimators. Mempool changes within seconds and it is never right to use mempool size from previous block to estimate fee.
2283  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Copy Trading... on: November 12, 2020, 04:09:44 AM
Copy trading is for lazy traders. It is hard to generalize about copy trading but you can win or lose, it depends.

On:
- Your decisions to turn off your bots: a good script can win most of time but at a time when it fails you can lose all your money, lose capital and lose paper profit you earn before that fail.
- Your plan to stop when you get enough profit: 50% profit from capital.
- Your plan to split the profit for copy tradings and retrieve capital just for safety.

I heard many friends told me that they got big profits from bots, copy tradings but they were greed, did not stop and lose all when market crashes.
2284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fees high on: November 12, 2020, 01:39:30 AM
No for me is not fine.. To be clear 95% of bitcoin users hodl and uses alts for cheap transactions, in a simple words people’s convert their fiat to bitcoin in order to make profit and then convert bitcoin* back to fiat, that the reason why people’s don’t complain about the high fees because they don’t use bitcoin, sounds hard but is the truth, I’m not complaining about Netflix cost because I don’t use Netflix, you don’t complain about high fees because you don’t use bitcoin or you have a lot of btc and you pay an fee amount, that’s goes for everyone wich refer me to use Alts instead bitcoin.. One more time, the fee per tx always must be 0.001$ your favourite dollar..
- Judge me.
Use altcoins mean that you accept risk of 51% attacks and if it happens on the chain you use to move your money you can lose your money in that transaction. It is bad.

Bitcoin chain is very good now and you can move your coin at 1 sat per byte and get confirmation in the next block. https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,2h
I don't argue when bitcoin network is busy but in period like at the moment, bitcoin chain is the best chain to use for your transaction: safe and cheap.

You can save more fee by Segwit address to have a reduction in the size of transaction.
2285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: November 12, 2020, 01:19:36 AM
I'm "all-in" on the GOLD token, real gold, BTC, ETH and you?
Charts for GOLD (physical gold): https://goldprice.org/nl/gold-price-chart.html

Choose the 30y tab and you can see how physical gold rises and falls in the last 30 years. It can be wrong if believe that history will always repeat everytime and all cycles in history will be repeated in the future. Somehow price chart can help us to see what happened in the past and get some ideas from history.

Gold ended its bull run from 1993 to 1996 and dived in its bear market. The market ended in 2003 and bull market began in 2004. That bull market lasted from 2004 to 2008 or you can say it lasted till 2012 if you ignore corrections in late 2008. It is a 8 year bull market.

That bull market ended in 2012 and the next bear market only ended in 2019. The gold is in its new bull market and in the first year of this bull market. Corrections are along the journey to the Moon with gold.

Gold Moon and it is the start of a parabolic growth!
2286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: November 11, 2020, 02:58:15 AM
This is very bad news for the future of Grin as an alternative for bitcoin. To have the protection through higher hashrate, grin's price must be higher. However, who will buy into grin and bring price higher if it is open to the risk of more future 51% attacks?
If bad news did not make the price down to much, positive things are not yet to come and when good news are here, price can recover. I look at the 1-d chart and GRIN might have 2 recover target prices: $0.37 and $0.5.

Although 51% attacks on small altcoins with small total hashrates on the network are never be expected by developers, miners and investors. If such attacks happen, price will be affected with big loss within a day.
2287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin app for newbie suggestion on: November 11, 2020, 02:23:27 AM
I appreciated the time OP spent to build up the knowbitcoin app for newbies but everyone can use the app. Although the very good initiative by OP, I personally don't want to install app (this one) or any app on my mobile devices. I would like to use them on web browser and on computer.

Let's consider my post as my suggestion for you: If you can, please build up a web version for KnowBitcoin.
2288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cross-chain exchanges, anyone? on: November 10, 2020, 03:35:09 AM
Cross-chain exchanges are interesting by its convenience but I am wondering about risks. How owners and operators of cross-chain exchanges can manage Replay attack risks?

On a single chain, it is complex already and with cross-chain, it is a more complex puzzle for exchange operators. They have to run many nodes on many chains and have good security alert systems.

2289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum User Spends $9,500 in Fees Sending Just $120 on: November 10, 2020, 02:00:48 AM
The fee will be distributed to miners on the pool that received the fee. Ethermine mining pool did in in June.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/ether-mining-pool-decides-to-pocket-one-of-the-26m-fee-transactions
https://news.bitcoin.com/ethermine-mining-pool-cashes-in-2-6-million-ethereum-fee-windfall/

And 2 pools (Sparkpool and Ethermine) will do their distributions for the latest high fees from 3 transactions.
https://en.ethereumworldnews.com/starkpool-ethermine-opt-to-distribute-5m-in-eth-fees-to-miners/
Quote
Three Ethereum transactions with high ETH fees were mined last week.
StarkPool and Ethermine mined two of the transactions and had requested the sender to contact them for possible discussions.
Almost a week later, the sender has not reached out and both mining pools have opted to distribute the fees to miners.
Ethermine has decided not to interfere with future payouts of large transaction fees.
2290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 6 countries have more than 50% of BTC exchange traffic on: November 10, 2020, 01:17:08 AM
It is a paid magazine with not a cheap price: $250 monthly. The article has poor quality that I don't mind to read. Traffic does not mean visitors or guests are using those exchanges for their trades.

The https://bitaps.com/ shows top three nations for bitcoin nodes are: the US, Germany, and France.

2292  Economy / Speculation / Re: Paypal accepted the Crypto but it will reduce the BTC marketcaps on: November 09, 2020, 04:10:40 AM
PayPal accepted the cryptocurrency buy/sell trading on its platform but that is not a good news and it will not be increasing the bitcoin marketcaps anywhere since these are the fake bitcoins which are being generated out of thin air so how you can think that it will increase the demand or use of the Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency?
bitcoin marketcap depends on its market price (total supply is fixed, and unchanged). PayPal can have its noise for bitcoin and more eyes will pay attention on bitcoin. I am not saying that Paypal news can help price of bitcoin to increase now, next several weeks or in the long run but there is a bull run for bitcoin. The run began before the Paypal news and as said, bitcoin price will be used to calculated its marketcap.

Quote
PayPal process around $200 billion+ within 3 months, if half of the people trade fake bitcoins on their platform then it will eliminate $100 billion+ every 3 months from the cryptocurrency market.
You do not buy bitcoin on Paypal. They cooperated with another third party company for their feature and bitcoin trades.

2294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reminder: prepare your wallet before the next bull run on: November 08, 2020, 10:33:46 AM
https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,8h

Prepare your consolidated inputs for next price actions of bitcoin. 2 or 3 satoshis/ byte can be used to consolidate your inputs. Do this now as your preparation for next run of bitcoin. With 3 satoshi you can get super quick confirmation but for 2 satoshi you will have to wait about 1 hour or more.
2295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: November 08, 2020, 10:27:03 AM
To be honest, now I am also bullish because real gold and BTC are lately correlated and look like both kings (real and digital) want to go on a trip to the moon.

Let's wait and see but as for now there is really nothing to worry about, the GOLD token price looks good and the chart even better.

My prediction for BTC is 20K at the end of 2020 (epic  Wink) and the same for gold - at least new record highs, fingers crossed - bags filled, now only left to wait  Wink.
Bitcoin, gold and stock markets love the Election results in the US. They all rock together last week. Bitcoin will have its price at 20k but I don't believe it will be hit in this year. Maybe it is a target of bitcoin in first quarter of 2021. Gold, it is on the bull run.

It does sort of, it gives you estimation of maximum fees you pay for that particular transaction. I saw many cases where people paid more in fees than their actual transaction value.
If you don't have too much Ethereum in your wallet, you can not spend fee that is higher than transaction value.
2296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: First Halving means boost to Zcash? on: November 07, 2020, 03:28:21 AM
zcash halving will be different with bitcoin halving, but over all market will decided what will happen before and after halving. personally i am buying zcash and waiting price hit around $100. its truelly speculation but i have basic fundamental why i am doing it. and dont forget about market sentiment at this moment , its look very good for all cryptocurrency and maybe it will give positive impact to zcash too.
Why do you think the halving of Zcash is different from Bitcoin halving or other crypto halvings?

Halvings in block rewards often make people feel a coin becomes more scarce. It actually become harder for miners to mine coin and get same amount of mining rewards. After halving, they need double time to mine the same amount of coin.

Zcash: its price is halved from its drops last week. Its monthly chart show double bottom but price can dive deeper. If you have plan to invest in ZEC for long time, it is good price or you can wait for next few days to get cheaper price. Noted that your waiting can cause missing the boat.

2297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bloomberg Financial Journalist Tracy Alloway Flips: I'm bullish on BTC now on: November 07, 2020, 03:19:57 AM
Ok, so another of this so called hater now, flips the coin, and totally riding on the bandwagon now, saying that "I'm bullish on BTC now".
It is funny but not fun at all. The statement "I am bullish on BTC now" should be said months ago this year when bitcoin is below $5000 or below $8000. Now when the price is breaking its 3 year record, saying bullish is so stupid. Buy the rumor, sell the news and buy the bottoms sell the highs.

Manage your risk and make your decision from your taste of risk and greed. I am bullish with Bitcoin in long term but temporarily we are in important and vulnerable time for news attacks. Any bad news can cause the price diving deeply.
2298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Turnoff Happen to Bitcoin on: November 04, 2020, 03:59:03 AM
A lot of cryptocurrency enthusiasts and investors are hoping for the day Bitcoin and some meaningful altcoins will be mainstream and also use by online payment giant like Paypal.
PayPal help bitcoin become more popular and more people will use bitcoin, the adoption will increase. On Paypal now you don't actually your bitcoin and they simply use another third party service for their new payment method.

Quote
Fortunately, the crypto community received an amazing news this year about Paypal integration of Bitcoin, LTC, ETH etc last month but after the announcement by Paypal Bitcoin have been experiencing a huge transaction lagging and ridiculous size of the mempool.
Difficulty changes and it is not a constant figure. Changes in difficulty affect bitcoin mempool, fee and it happens from 2009 till now. It is not a new thing and no lag is there. If you want fast transaction, accept high fee. If you want cheap fee, please stay calm and wait.

Quote
My question is there any perfect solution put in place fix this problem aside from the lightning network which i don't know much about cause Bitcoin will gain more traffic next year and if nothing is done now it may lead to some turnoff by some investors?
2299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any idea when the Bitcoin Mempool will stop being so congested? on: November 04, 2020, 02:58:34 AM
This difficulty adjustment is already in the code right? It happens automatically every 2016 blocks and miners have nothing to do with it. The easing of the network depends on the users the same way we are responsible for clogging it. The fees can also remain cheap if nobody is going to pay above 10 sats/vbyte but that ain't happening since there's no cap and everyone is free to pay how much they want to.
The overkill fees come from exchanges, marketplaces, platforms and from people who are using custodial wallets. They accept overkill fee and don't have any idea that they can get cheaper fee if they use non-custodial wallets and use fee they want to spend.

If you look mempool and fee of unconfirmed transactions you see the size of overkill fee is very little but there is people who are using it. Hence mempool takes time to clear all the stupid transactions from exchanges or bad fee estimators need time to provide better estimation for their customers.
2300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did You Face any Problem with BTC Confirmation? on: November 03, 2020, 01:08:40 PM
OP did not give details and I don't know how OP set up fee for the stucked transaction. Mempool is better 3 latest days and if that stucked transaction was broadcasted with fee 10 or 12 sat/byte or higher, I think it can be confirmed in coming days.

If the fee was used is 1-2-5 sat/byte, I don't think it will be confirmed in this week.

I see OP is active today but did not reply here with more details. No detail, no one can help more.
