2281  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you guys think about the death cross ? on: October 20, 2019, 04:53:57 PM
Apparently not every news that we see is good and there have been a meeting in NYC of the big investors Who are analyzing the price of Bitcoin and telling how it's looming near the death cross, if it crossed that then it will directly hit the bottom price and People will loose a lot apparently.

Let's keep it realistic , no bitcoins hitting 1 million and such , what do you guys think of the graph ? Why haven't it been moving to a favourable turn and as far as I remember the holiday season is coming so I don't think I would expect a huge price increase Soon , because we all know how holiday season affect bitcoins.

It depends what day averages lines are you looking at. On some In 2016 made golden cross, then death cross and then again golden cross. On some it made only golden cross.    For sure death and golden cross are good indicator what is ahead, but only by looking in past what it did before.
2282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2 Years of bear market.. what to expect next on: October 19, 2019, 09:09:29 PM
i don't know what on earth would trigger the bullrun in the alts. i think we have seen enough of this bloodbath there is about 8 month left in the bitcoin next block halving and still market condition is not improving. is there will be any improvement in the alts or they all will die

In last 2 cycles at Bitcoin halving price was at 1/2 and 1/3 of previous ATH. So for this halving 7 months from now that would meant $7-10k.  Price is already now at that levels, so I dont understand your pessimism and wanting more.
2283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A million altcoins on: October 19, 2019, 08:26:04 PM
I seriously doubt there is a decent altcoin. Any reason that someone will provide in order to follow and buy into a project, is looking like advertisement that has no foundation.
I can't find anything solid that makes me want to follow an altcoin. Between 30,000 cryptocurrencies I don't see something that will surprise and evolve into a major player.

Stay here read and learn and you will find what you are looking for. There are plenty in a million.
2284  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we looking at Bitcoin down to $5K? on: October 19, 2019, 08:00:44 PM
Two weeks ago everything seemed like we were on a bullish trend towards a 12K mark. Now we're all fearing a 5K resistance level. Thoughts?

In June most thought we will see new ATH in few months time. That is how it is. Bitcoin goes from FUD to hype and back in a day.
2285  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bad experience with exchanges on: October 19, 2019, 06:55:58 PM
Hello

I'm wondering if you ever had a bad experience with crypto exchange, what was it and which exchange?

Feel free to share all kind of stories.

@SheriffEl I had bad experience with Cryptopia as it suddenly shut down, and I lost access to my coins worth $1500 back then and now their worth is only $31. Normally I have always advocated people to stay away from exchanges as they keep getting hacked, but it was my sheer bad luck that I forgot about my coins till it was too late. If you were looking to store your coin in exchanges, then I hope my post will help you understand why you should stay away from exchanges.

Details here: https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/

Sorry to hear that. If the exchange shuts down and you have coins on that particular exchange do you loose them or..?

Of course you lose them. If they shut down from any reason ( they could be robbed, or them self rob and run away), who will send you coins you have there? Some other exchange? Some other guy? Who?

Things gets way more simple if you use exchange as an exchange and not as your wallet. You send coins to exchange, exchange it and withdraw.  It is that simple. Doing that you must be really unlucky to do that at times of a hack or any other troubles.
2286  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Bank: If The Entire System Collapses, Gold Will Be Needed To Start Over on: October 19, 2019, 06:22:48 PM
Central Bank: If The Entire System Collapses, Gold Will Be Needed To Start Over

Entire system will never collapse. But USD as world reserve currency and other big currencies can lose its influence or even totally collapse. That will for sure reduce world trade. But there will always exist currencies. Question is how wanted they will be.
2287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: October 19, 2019, 06:00:55 PM
I was thinking.

Jan 2022, when there is expected next Bitcoin ATH (take few month off or add), Grin will have around 80 millions coins. If each is worth $1, that is only $80 million. That is not that high marketcap. And as past teach us in case of hype things can get mad.  So no matter how high emission inflation is right now, if you buy now there is quite a chance you can sell it with profit in next 2 years time.
2288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where will this fluctuation end ? on: October 19, 2019, 05:29:28 PM
Bitcoin's price has been slightly fluctuating everyday but it's not a huge fluctuation to buy in or sell of in order to make huge profit as everyone is eagerly waiting to know where this will us to, this is what my question is over here. Are we heading towards a new price pump or a dump ? This slow drift of bitcoin's value is really confusion.

Bitcoin price simply went to high to fast in June. There was so much hype that keep increasing without any correction for 5 months.

Last halving price of Bitcoin was half of previous ATH. One halving back was 1/3 of ATH.  So if  history repeats 7 months from now Bitcoin price should be from $7-10k. Not that much space to grow right now.
2289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 19, 2019, 01:41:48 AM
It seems Poloniex gave up fighting against SEC regulations and after they geofencing 9 coins for USA customers in May, now totally close access for USA citizens and move elsewhere. It is sad since there are not that many exchanges offering Monero in USA. And sad that they leave USA market because of something Monero is totally compiled with, SEC regulations.

2290  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency, KYC and Terrorism on: October 18, 2019, 10:25:58 PM
Some have speculated that terrorists have discovered a way to use the platform crypto currency to gather identities from different people from all over the world. use their identities for terrorist activities. From threads that i have seen, there are people thinking that some ICOs are used to fund terrorist acts by luring investors into investing into their companies, getting KYC in exchange of money, gather a large sum of it and then run away with big bags of bucks.
IMO, these scenarios have big possibilities since there is the anonymity factor feature of crypto currency, we really do not have the knowledge as to whom and where the money will go for when it was transacted in cyberspace.

what are your thoughts on this?

Those that collect data are responsible to keep them secure. This has nothing to do with cryptocurrencies. There are way more important data then people finances. Health, police, governments.
2291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin is the sleeping giant on: October 18, 2019, 08:18:27 PM
Litecoin is the sleeping giant

Yup a fat giant that did nothing in last 8 years expect sleeping.  Smiley    It is time to wake up and start working buddy. Bring innovations on crypto table or be gone!
2292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex closes his doors for US citizens on: October 18, 2019, 07:00:53 PM
Poloniex closes his doors for US citizens:
Quote
Beginning today, US persons will no longer be able to create new accounts on Poloniex. Starting on November 1, 2019, US customers will no longer be able to execute trades on the exchange. When trading ends, US customers will still be able to withdraw their assets through Circle until at least December 15, 2019.
https://medium.com/circle-trader/poloniex-spins-out-from-circle-with-new-backing-global-focus-5a19357bdaee
What do you think about it and future of Poloniex?
Also they made 0% fee for all spot trading to the end of year.
It seems that their business is not going very well in last days.

It seems they see it is not worth to fight with USA regulations if can make profit elsewhere.  They might start USA Poloniex branch just like Binance did. Circle is not in crypto because crypto, but because of profit. They will do things that will give them most profit with least effort. Kraken is one of rare exchanges that keeps fighting.
2293  Economy / Economics / Re: Millennial generation are screwed! on: October 18, 2019, 05:13:34 PM
First they spend more time on video games than any other generation, an average gen millennial spend 8 hours on games everyday! Ridiculous!

They basement dwellers

They deep on student loan

They no saving

They have no job security

Now they spend more money on bitcoin than all generation!

It never get bored millennial has been on the headlines since the god know when it all began.

Can crypto make millennial more screwed or otherwise? Let’s discuss!

What about Zoomers?  They spend way more time gaming then Milenials. Most of them had not even started studying. But good education is more expensive every day. What about them?
2294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Ripple not dead? on: October 18, 2019, 04:38:24 PM
Why is Ripple not dead?

Because you need to first live to die. Ripple had not started to live yet. I guess sole reason for it is that no one knows what is it needed for. Maybe to buy banks before they will run out of business. Like what they did with Moneygram. Bankers need to retire wealthy.   So after they will buy all banks then Ripple mission will be over and it can die.
2295  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC TO 35K$ IN 2020 on: October 18, 2019, 04:03:54 PM
looking at your posting history

I sold all of my BTC with 8200$, Now I want to join to the game again, What do you think about next crash time? I think it will be crash beforBTC hit 10k$.

one month after you sold the price reached $19000

You cant blame people to not precisely predict ATH. He was good there if he sold at 8k. Things escalated quickly and ATH was only 3 weeks latter.  I remember Charlie Lee was advising to sell even earlier. I could be wrong but I believe at $6000.

That he called Bitcoin scam is for sure dumb. I guess he did not do good trades latter on and got frustrated. LOL   He might bought back 3 weeks latter.
2296  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Halving and price History Analysis on Chart on: October 18, 2019, 03:24:01 PM
next halving bitcoin price can reach 135000 usd per btc ,  There is a dump now  in the market , but be confident that there is work in hiding like last year , as for low price can drop 25000 usd per btc in cases of crash like any past halving
Prices can stable above 35000 usd per btc easily

Everything can happen But I wonder where you got this price from. As OP showed us in previous two halving price was 1/3 and 1/2 of previous ATH. So that would mean now at halving price could be $7000 or $10000.  I would really love to see where you got $135k. Smiley
2297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: October 18, 2019, 02:55:31 PM
Supporting (holding) a coin that goes in a direction that you think is wrong is just stupid, so I'm kindly advising you not to do so (but you're free to ignore my advice). Also, I find it useless or borderline trolling to stir up the ASIC debate here since it's already decided after intense discussions. It's like criticizing Zcash's trusted setup in their forum.

Open sourced projects are constantly criticized and improved on... that’s the point of open source projects... and how exactly am I trolling??

I like AEON because it’s a cryptonote coin that has close ties to monero and I view it as a hedge to Monero.

And people come to /r/Monero or on the monero threads here and criticize certain aspects all the time, only to be not censored and debated.

I don't think it's stupid to doubt your own wisdom and hedge accordingly. Personally I don't think monero made the right decision with respect to randomx v. sha3, but I didn't dump my monero. There's other factors to consider, such as community, liquidity, history, etc, besides the fact that I may just be flat out wrong.

I dont think anyone made a mistake or wrong decision. But maybe I am underestimating impact of mining.  Cryptocurrencies are still an experiment. And with experiments you need to experiment to prove you are doing something right. Doing nothing would be worst.
2298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 17, 2019, 01:32:04 PM
Even in the slim chance XMR is widely delisted, there are many unregulated exchanges which will capitalise upon this, offerXMR trading pairs, and the greater crypto community will acknowledge the Monero reigns supreme as a privacy coin, achieving what BTC has failed to do so. I predict this will result in an increase of demand for XMR.

No court will ever prohibit Monero. None. Who will prohibit Monero will be autocratic governments that will ignore law. But as soon as that government will be replaced with normal government that obey court rulings, Monero will be allowed again.  Right now we are in time where is no laws set and exchanges just do what they believe is right.

In general. Monero price in Bitcoin is same as was a month ago. Less then 30 days ago and people are scared what is going on. It goes up  to much, for sure need correction. s not this fear total proof we are past capitulation and already in despair phase?

Monero can be 0.01 btc  in a week time. Such even will be triggered by something totally unrelated to Monero development. Something about privacy or something I cant even think of. Maybe article: Queen of England was found hiding her wealth in bitcoin to not pay taxes.

2300  Economy / Economics / Re: [DEBATE]: Cryptocurrency investment related on India facing threat for ban on: October 16, 2019, 04:57:04 PM
Banning bitcoin will never work, look at china for example, they have banned ICO for example but people figured out another way and they are still doing it, it is just a method where everyone thinks they can get rich and making 1 dollar into 100 dollars is life changing in some parts of the world.

Ofcourse. Those countries that baned ICOs already have a way to crowdfund for a projects. And they want people use those ways and not ICO. Why? Because they already have all set to protect investors. With ICOs investors are not protected at all.
