2341  Economy / Economics / Re: Miners Hodling Rates Increases. on: March 25, 2021, 02:03:33 AM
This should be a worrying aspect for the ordinary users. Miners can't hold on to their coins for too long. They need to take care of the expenses - such as capital expenses (mining rigs, cooling systems.etc) as well as electricity costs and taxes. So holding on to the coins beyond a certain period is out of question. If there is a major correction, then we can expect a mass dump from at least some of these miners.
For those on the short term, they have to predict when is the prices going to dump but I think in the long term this is not significant because this is just a temporary dump and overtime the prices are going to recover and better yet will go up than what was expected.
2342  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Banks money and blame for printing this is what I think on: March 25, 2021, 01:26:14 AM
Of course, I WILDLY apologize, but let's be honest - cryptocurrencies as such creates money out of thin air.
I still strongly advise you, as I have done many times, to read at least a basic overview course of economics to learn how money is created. Maybe then you will stop writing such delusional things and realize that everything is not as simple as "the printer go  brrr" and that "damn bad banks getting richers while Im» not. All right?"
OP is a troll and I don't think that OP is going to read anything to change that mind, you can't change a closed mind. I mean who defends central banks, those money prints is going to catch up soon enough because no matter how much they try and hide it, there is still a lot of paper money in the circulation which is going to cause inflation.
2343  Economy / Economics / Re: Dorsey to donate his 1st Tweet benefits to charity on: March 24, 2021, 10:23:20 AM
Whatever the reason Jack Dorsey made the $ 15M donation to charity, it's a good thing we should appreciate. Maybe Dorsey did it for imaging,
so that Dorsey looks good to the public. Because if there is no specific purpose, donations should be done secretly without the public knowing.
Which is nothing wrong if Dorsey did it for imaging. The most important thing is he has done a good deed that maybe not many people do.
It is not just for the image of the future NFTs that he is going to sell, that donation can be a useful thing for him when it is time to file the taxes, AFAIK there are tax exemption if you have a proof that you donated money to a charity and the tax exemption is equivalent to how much you have donated, that is why a lot of rich people donate the money when they auction some of their collections with paintings the most notorious items to be sold.
2344  Economy / Economics / Re: Powell (US Federal Reserve chair) - "does not want to rush digital dollar" on: March 24, 2021, 09:40:41 AM
They all may want to have their own government-owned currency, but how are they going to solve scalability? Banks can function, because they rely on Visa and Mastercard, and those two companies own a lot of infrastructure to make it possible. Are governments going to build such infrastracture from zero? Cryptocurrency wasn't some major breakthrough in financial technology in any aspect but giving control to the users, so governments can't just take cryptocurrency technology and build their own currency with it and expect it to get mass adopted.
I think when it comes to the government having their own currency, I don't think that scalability will not be an issue as long as the congress agrees that it is worthwhile endeavor for them to expand. Or maybe they can just use the private companies infrastructures to make that a possibility since these companies and the government can do a quid pro quo. We know that a government that is determined will be able to do what it wants until it gets it.
2345  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin could win the currency war on: March 24, 2021, 09:00:31 AM
My mission is that Bitcoin can win this war, because in this age of technology, Bitcoin can have a very significant impact. He has great power. It is a product of technological development, it is very convenient to use, and it has its own advantages, which cannot be compared with other currencies.
Saying that bitcoin has a significant impact is a subjective thing to say because in my opinion because bitcoin did shook the foundations of the existing financial institutions but it didn't replace it or anything in that realm, if there really is a war, I think that everything is just getting started, we are just putting everything in place.
2346  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you explain NFT to a 5 years old child? on: March 24, 2021, 08:10:12 AM
It is pretty easy to explain to a child since most of them knows a bit about technology, you just have to tell them that NFTs are a token that anyone can make on the Internet and sell it to other people or make them immersed like telling them that they create a drawing and that drawing will be sold to other people and you will get money from that art.
2347  Economy / Economics / Re: Tweets as Non-fungible tokens (NFT) - Dorsey's million dollar tweet on: March 24, 2021, 07:26:03 AM
This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. I believe NFT's have a good future in certain cases such as games but tweet NFT's are useless as hell. Why would anybody pay ridiculous amount of money for this? The only reason could be marketing. It's still too much for advertisement. I don't understand and I don't think I ever will, this is definition of tulip mania seriously. This is not a collectible at all.
Ridiculous as it may sound, you still have to accept that people are getting into it and NFTs are here to stay maybe it will go down in prices since the saturation of NFTs is really high but it won't get out of fashion. If we are talking about advertisement, I wouldn't really say that the Tweet NFT was too much for it because there are bigger companies that are spending more than that and considering the effectiveness of that I think that they saved a lot of money for advertising the tweet as NFT.
2348  Economy / Economics / Re: Over the Past 300 Years, No Fiat Money Has Escaped Going to 0 on: March 24, 2021, 06:49:10 AM
and it's mostly in a third world country that the fiat money becomes hyper inflated and it eventually also become a big pile of useless paper. Our current monetary system is broken and definitely need fix.
Not to mention in the era of Internet we definitely need currecny that's transparent and not just printed paper but backed up by some reserve and that could be anything that's precious + the capability of easy money transfer.
Not just third world country although they are the most prevalent, take USA for example, currently they are printing a lot for the stimulus package. The only way to fix it is to curtail inflation and make the spending as much as possible tight, frugal and practical because with useless funding the money goes to waste which means that they will have to get more money because they have spent it on something stupid. Fiat is backed up by the government and in a strange way gold still holds it backing towards fiat.
2349  Economy / Economics / Re: Difficult to get proper financial intelligence and education on: March 24, 2021, 06:01:23 AM
With a growing technology that we have today, I can say that its easy to learn things nowadays since you can just search online the information you needed so there’s no reason to get left behind.

Education matters even if people don’t want to spend time learning and just want to go straight to the market and make money, as if its easy for them to think like this. Proper financial knowledge will bring you to the real financial freedom, so I do suggest to spend more time on learning first before entering in the market as a trader/investor.
There is an abundance yes but the problem is where and how are you going to find the right one because most websites and videos do not care about the content, they need the audiences so I think that it is debatable as to whether it is easy to learn things nowadays, in a way I agree with the title that it is difficult to get a proper financial education. I agree that education matters but we have to have the right resources for that because finding substandard resources will result in a substandard quality of education.
2350  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Bank of Nigeria Official Reiterates Nigerian Residents Free to Trade BTC on: March 24, 2021, 05:28:26 AM
CBN never told that Nigerian people cannot do trade Bitcoin or cryptocurrency, They just prevent people to use Bank account for doing crypto related work. They have taken the tricky path to harass trader and maybe they attempt to take control over traders and attempt to regulate cryptocurrency trading. If they do not allow traders to use bank accounts to take payments then how can they say that Nigerian Residents Free to Trade BTC!
So basically they can trade but they can't withdraw their crypto in banks from what I can understand, this is a pretty vague and scummy stuff for CBN to do, I mean this restricts traders their way of getting the profits that they gained in the process. P2P could be a solution but there is a rampant scams going on with P2P so it will be difficult.
2351  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Prices Are Soaring Faster Than Inflation and Incomes on: March 24, 2021, 04:53:15 AM
We are reaching a critical point, inflation in luxury items or in stuff people do not normally use or have access is not going to affect them however inflation when it comes to food is going to have very adverse effects all around the world.

This is simply a matter of ROI, most people do not want things like a revolution happening on their country because deep down they know all the bad effects it will have plus the fact they may risk their lives, but if they do not have food for themselves or their families slowly the ROI for a revolution begins to switch towards revolution, and I would not be surprised if in the next years we see some governments going down because of the high food prices.
If the minimum wages are increased in parallel with the inflation then we should be able to curtail the problem of increased in the prices of basic necessities. We don't need a revolution to have a change, we just have to choose the right and competent person to get into the position of power, someone that really do care about the people more than their own interest. Teach your children not to be a sycophant fanatics of politicians, teach them to ask the right questions, teach them common sense and critical thinking, teach them compassion and charity. This simple things that our parents didn't do can help the future generations become better than the past generations.
2352  Economy / Economics / Re: Does myanmar illustrate bitcoin's next evolution on: March 24, 2021, 04:17:30 AM
Here in India, satellite phones are banned. If you own one, you can be charged with waging war against the state and thrown in jail for a very long period. I don't think that the situation is any different in Myanmar (which is ruled by a military junta). OP seems to be having very little knowledge about authoritarian nations and how things work in such countries. If they could impose an internet blackout, don't you think that they have the capability to trace and seize all the satellite phones?
Pretty understandable considering that your country is having tensions with Pakistan which hopefully gets resolved because tension is slowing the progress of both countries, satellite phones are a scary ones because they are not easily detected if I am right and you have to be on the specific frequency before you can intercept the message. I think so too, if the government does an Internet blackout then what is the point of having cryptocurrency if you can't access it because there is no Internet, I mean even with satellites, if the government wants to lock the Internet from its people then they will do it.
2353  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I coded a bot that buys bitcoin every time Elon Musk tweets about bitcoin and op on: March 23, 2021, 09:46:25 AM
You might want to expand it to more than just Elon's tweets because these kind of bot is used in HFT which scours the Internet for keywords that can help the bot in deciding whether to buy the stocks. I guess if you improve upon your project, I think that it might be something and you might be able to make more money than what you currently make with the latest bot.
2354  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling 1777.58 Acreage Lunar Deed (transferable) - for 1 BTC on: March 23, 2021, 08:55:11 AM
the problem is that when we actually get to where we can easily go back and forth to the moon - your deed may be null and void - it could be deemed that whoever sold it to you had no authority to do so.
That is if there is going to be a governing body that is going to acknowledge that you own the land because if we are going to colonize the moon which is a much better if we want to advance in space age instead of skipping to go to Mars, not to mention that we might not have any use with the acreage because the food will be grown in greenhouses and most parts of the moon is going to be mined.
2355  Other / Off-topic / Re: Time machine/time travel on: March 23, 2021, 08:21:03 AM
Let me guess: offers can be sent by PM yesterday?

Stephen Hawking tried that in 2009 (when Bitcoin was created - coincidence?). See mashable.com:
Quote
"I have experimental evidence that time travel is not possible," Hawking told reporters at the Seattle Science Festival in 2012. "I gave a party for time-travelers, but I didn't send out the invitations until after the party. I sat there a long time, but no one came."
What if those time travelers were smart enough not to go to the party because they might cause a rift in time and space because there was a change in the past. But considering the recent time travel paradox, if the time travelers were to go to the party then they will cause a change in the future which is going to change the timeline where the time machine was invented earlier or later which means that they didn't really went to the party resetting everything.
2356  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why is the Beginners & Help section excluded from certain signature campaigns? on: March 23, 2021, 07:38:55 AM
We don't know unless we ask the campaign manager or PR/advertising team behind it, but sometimes it's because people on Beginners & Help section isn't their demographic target.
But newbies could be a good clients because they are curious about things that are advertised and most users that frequent the Beginners & Help is older members but that is my experience so I don't know if it is true. I mean what could go wrong if we ask them about it, it's not like you are violating the campaign rules or anything.
2357  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: VPN Service (Market Research) on: March 23, 2021, 06:59:32 AM
I do not think that the price is the attractive thing in using a VPN because there are many services that claim to be free, but some other factors may make the user pay up to $ 20 a month, the most important of which are:

Speed, the cleanliness of the IP address, and that it is not prohibited or known to the service providers with the ability to hide the main address using Tor or any other service.
Not to mention that almost all VPNs offer the same thing and the things that they advertised doesn't necessarily means that it is true, there was a video by Tom Scott about VPN and in that video he debunks the things that most VPNs advertise that they do. The only one that really works well is Tor browsers combined with Arch Linux.
2358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Indian casino in New York? on: March 23, 2021, 05:45:22 AM
I thought the Indians that you were talking about are those that are in India, I hope that you will change that to Native Americans because there is some confusion. Hopefully, they are going to become a successful casino but considering that Americans have a prejudice towards these people, I think that they are going to have a problem but if they persevere, they might be able to becoming an established casino. By the way aren't there a limit as to how many casinos there is in a city?
2359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Strategies best used to play plinko game on: March 23, 2021, 04:58:41 AM
Isn't plinko based on probability and physics? So I think that there isn't any way that we can do some strategy on that maybe managing the money that you are going to spend so you can play more games and eventually hit something big but that too is a fallacy because it is a game of chances so you might have played a lot of games but that doesn't guarantee a win.
2360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teams on your personal blacklist on: March 23, 2021, 04:23:15 AM
I don't quite get the rationale behind blacklisting a team. In sport betting, you just analyze the odds and each player and team's statistics, performance, and so on. It seems to me personally blacklisting a team is not an objective way to do betting. After all, a team is just a name or a franchise or company. The players, coaches, staff, managers, and even owners could change anytime. Some leave, some enter, some switch to other teams, and so forth.

As regards your personal experiences, perhaps you're just disappointed that you lost your bets on them on such terms. Get over them.
The reason that OP put there is that the odds are inconsistent which meant that there is a possibility that there is a rigging in the bets and the players are throwing the game. Or maybe the quote above is right, that OP was just bitter at his/her losses that he/she blacklisted the team. Blacklisting might make you miss out on some good bets in the future in that team or against that team.
