I don't think so because nothing is perfectly resistant to threats (of scams, illegal activities). Attackers and abusers will try to take bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as tools for their scams, fradulent activites, illegal activities.
Bitcoin developers, bitcoin community can not prevent such things to happen. Can not prevent such threats from eggs. We only can detect them, report them, and shut them down when eggs turn into real scam projects, and real fraudulent/ illegal activities.
Bitcoin is not created for bad things but bad people have used it as tool for their bad activities and they will do it in the future.
Same things go for Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, Discord, any other platforms that are used by crypto communities and scammers.

With falls of DeFi tokens in their price, the greed and FOMO on DeFi projects are decreasing. Less people want to invest in new DeFi projects and they don't try to spend capital to invest and don't accept too high fees, consequently. Together, the fee of transactions on ETH network has fallen and in last several days, fee is good. Now it is standing at 47 Gwei (for Average speed). I lost coins when BTC-E was hacked a few years ago. Actually, it may not have been hacked because so many people believe that the owner stole the percentage of coins for himself. It is all the exchanges' responses to keep coins safe. the list of hacked exchanges is getting bigger over time. This is a huge problem for users and I believe exchanges should invest more in security and put more effort to protect the users. It's an additional investment for them but without that, they will not survive.
I hope you did not lose all your fund on BTC-e because I knew that they came back months later to pay compensations for their customers. It is not a good story but at least people got back part of their funds. Newbies - Read before using exchanges or investingI had a bad loss with scam exchange and its scam exit (Crypto-Bridge exchange). They forced all users to do KYC to be able to withdraw money. The KYC document will be verified by a third party company but it is a funny KYC when people can use one document to verify multiple accounts. I don't know what is the aim of that KYC requirement. I did not know honestly but months later I realized that they likely try to steal users' identity documents and use such ones for shady things later. I have checked new token that was created after Digital Gold but the reason the token was moved to the first position (default) is because the team involve submitted the token for default listing while Digital Gold team dont and thats how myether default listing works. For more informationI know it is their wallet and their listing rules but it is not a right thing to do if developers of projects can submit to list their tokens as default one. It can be accepted and reasonable if a token is the first one but if it is not the first one, and is born after another or others it will be a shame. Such rule can mislead investors because almost always later-born projects are copy-cats of first projects.
About good exchanges to buy or trade GOLD token, the Bitforex.com exchange is the best. It is one of three exchanges are listed in Gold marketplace and it is the only exchange that is counted by coinmarketcap.com.. Regarding to the order of listing, it seems coinmarketcap.com does better. If you manually search with GOLD as searching keyword, you will see the Digital Gold token appears at the first position in the list.  |

What happened is strange, the wallet lifted later created tokens to the top, not Digital Gold.
Don't understand you. I am sorry for the typo. I meant is the wallet (Myetherwallet) moved token that is created later than Digital Gold to the first one position as default GOLD token. It happened recent months (maybe 2 months). When you log in your Myetherwallet account, choose customize token list, and enter contract, decimal, you will see their warning that there is already GOlD token in the list, and you should name the new token you want to add as GOLD2, or other but need to be different than GOLD. I don't know the progress of Myetherwallet to list token on their list and fee (?).
The problem started when the smart contract is created but myetherwallet could also do some correction if they reject and told the imitator the ticker is already in used. The progress of myetherwallet token listing is done through Myether Github and the project owner is in charge of adding a manual fee during the listing process but the free is usually defines the network status. I meant how Myetherwallet sorts out their token list. With the similar tokens, the one is listed firstly on Myetherwallet should be a default token and it should be the Digital Gold token, not the others. |

Thats correct but I believe the Digital Gold storage team still have to do something because it may somehow affect their project in the future when the project gain huge traffic newbies may misunderstand the imitate project for Gold token. Besides, this is an act of using the influence of this project to gain crypto investors attention.
The team must not silent about this.
It is sure that the initial project with token named as GOLD should be listed by Myetherwallet by default not by customization on token name. I don't have problem with it because I know what is Digital Gold token (its contract, decimal, etc.) and know what I am looking for. Unfortunately, for newbies who have not known about the token, or get invitation to invest in the token, might feel confused about it and might give up. Obyte project launched their bonded stable coins. Their announcement on such bonded stablcoins is there. It is interesting idea and they even have 3 different sets of bonded stablecoins. I don't promote them in GOLD project's Announcement thread. What I do want is give the developers that link of announcement to check and maybe build up future partnership with Obyte project, if possible. Who knows it will be a mutual win-win partnership for Digital Gold and Obyte projects |

Great point! It happened only last 2 or 3 months and you should know Digital Gold token is the first GOLD token is backed by gold. The other tokens with name as GOLD are born later than this one. I sent ER20 token this morning. I thought $2,5 of transaction fees are enough but it seems it wasn't. The transaction has been pending since five hours now. Is there any way to speed up the confirmation for example by sending further tx fee (I sometimes use this in Bitcoin when a transaction is stuck)?
You can check gas fee at https://ethgasstation.info/calculatorTxV.php or https://etherscan.io/gastracker. Both sites give the average fee around 190 Gwei. What did you do with your ERC20 token transaction this morning? Which Gwei did you use? If your transaction is rejected, you can visit 2 sites and set up your Gwei for your new transaction. |

I don't underestimate the busy network of Bitcoin, it just that will be better if the network could be fixed once and for all cause it may also boost the mainstream of Bitcoin.
It is not accurate this period when Bitcoin network gives you good opportunities to get confirmations with cheap fees. Ethereum network has been too busy recent weeks and fees on its chain is too high than on Bitcoin network. The problem on bitcoin network is not actually belong to its transaction fee. In my opinion, it has a bigger problem with very limited size, number of transactions for each block. I see fee on bitcoin network periodically falls to low and cheap area for us to use it. On Ethereum network, there are many transactions per day that surely outweigh the ones on bitcoin network, but its fees depend on Gas used and gas limits. DeFi destroys the chances to have cheap fees and fast transactions on ETH network. |

The fee above $2 or above 100 Gwei is higher than the fee from 10 to 20 Gwei months ago (up to 3 months) before the crypto market went to crazy with DeFi projects, yield, farm, swap. The crypto market itself operates very fast, and faster than stock or good markets. Price can skyrocket in minutes and can falling crash in minutes too. People don't want to wait for a few minutes or hours with their DeFi parties so fee has lifted by DeFi participants. Not only restricted on yield, farm joiners, investors and traders on exchanges contribute to rise of fee when they trade, take profit, cut loss and move their funds around exchanges. Fee already drops 5 times from latest peak (from $11 to $2) and it need to drop next 5 times to hit its normal cheap fee again. Let's hope.  |
