The Celtics duo did a good number again. Luka Doncic cannot shoulder everything, he will need someone that will step up his game to match this offensive monsters. From start to finish, it was an obvious win for the Celtics because the Mavericks are having a hard time to make stops.

Jason Kidd should at least change tactics and strategy if Doncic's bunch of role-player teammates are not getting their rhythm. For example, if most starters getting a tough night and having a hard time finding their rhythm, how about considering someone to take their place and give chance to others?

Specifically, I want to point out that they should fully utilize their rookie, Christian Wood. There's no problem with Doncic's consistency in every game but if the Mavericks are still losing despite him always getting good numbers, that's a big concern that they need to address.

That is true, Luka's consistency will be pointless if he cannot have anything inside the team that can match him and will somehow balance the play that he is doing. The others were not that consistent like him anymore, except this Christian Wood who is kind of making some noise recently. I agree that Jason Kidd should give him more exposure to make use of him in the upcoming games and to be more accustomed once the league gets tougher, I mean, what's the use of acquiring him if he won't be utilized.
2382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: November 24, 2022, 06:23:59 PM
It's good that Casimero is just keeping his mouth shut at this fight.

Maybe he was being advised not to make too many talks and just do all the talking thru his punches in the actual fight. Akaho, on the other hand, is not giving any trash talks too and I'm sure he wasn't like that, and that may be the reason why Casimero is just silent too.

Casimero needs to do his best to win this fight. Still, a long way to go for him to be considered for a big match right now that's why every win is a must.

Not really surprised that this Ryo Akaho is also silent since their fight has been scheduled because Japanese people are known to be polite, courteous and very respectful towards other people. However, Casimero is different, this man is known to be messing with you in the head until the day of the fight. He just never stops talking about anything that sometimes he already looks like a fool, but this time is different. He is now under the radar pouring all his days in training for this fight of redemption.

This is easy to interpret, Casimero has spoken more, and only the fact of having said that after this fight he will fight against Inoue is almost like a provocation given to Akaho, you cannot say or speak more and less in boxing, things, things They are like that, it is also as you say, the Japanese are very gentlemen, they are educational people and do not walk much around what they can and cannot, this is something that in boxing takes into account.

Now, boxing in this case is a weapon with double edge edge edges for casimero, I didn't have to have spoken, I think he speaks more to get excited in the full interview, but it was a mistake, those things should not be said, if Casimero loses, the one who will look bad will be him for everything.

If Akaho is indeed provoked by that then he already have stooped down Casimero's level because he was swayed by that kind of statement. Apart from Casimero's true agenda, he might have said that line purposely to mess Akaho and to think that Casimero is underestimating him because he is already forecasting future fights that isn't yet sure that will come. And just like what you have said, it is always a double edged sword for Casimero and that is his choice.
2383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: November 24, 2022, 05:45:09 PM
That's right apart from this the exhibition fight is for charity purposes.
I am a Pacman fan and I miss seeing him box again, for me seeing Pacman back in the ring is entertainment in itself.
After Pacman retires, Pacman fans will surely miss seeing him in the ring and in action again.
And I think for DK this fight will definitely boost his popularity on social media.
And what's more, this is a very rare opportunity for DK to fight one of the Pacman boxing legends.
I'm interested and can't wait to see how Pacman and DK will provide entertainment during this match.
I've missed him getting into the ring as well and that's why seeing him go back to his major craft in his early days is a good thing. After the presidential election, a lot have said that he should focus on his current post as a government official but then he just can't resist doing other things that he's done before and one of them is boxing. For DK, it's an advantage to him that he's able to have time and even box with Manny Pacquiao on this charity match.

Not just an advantage but it is an honor too to fight the one and only 8-Division World Champion and the legendary Manny Pacquiao, not all famous fighters and boxers can have the chance to box with a legendary boxer in the ring. Which also made me curious about DK Yoo, out of all famous fighters or boxers in South Korea, why him? Is he really that famous to attract audience apart from Manny Pacquiao himself?
Promoters of the fight know for sure what they are doing, we might not know the reason but they won't make this fight happen if they will not make a lot of money. I have to admit that I don't know his opponent until this fight was announce, so I just hope it will not disappoint the fans as it's the first exhibition fight of Pacman after retirement.

Yes, I get that point that there is indeed a special reasons why DK Yoo has been chose for Manny Pacquiao's first exhibition fight but still I'm really curious about this DK Yoo's influence in South Korea and that he can really attract large audience because that is the fact, he is relatively unknown and the internet is just saying that he is a martial arts master and a coach, nothing adds up.
2384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: November 24, 2022, 04:17:29 PM
From https://www.espn.ph/boxing/

Garcia in an interview said that he will knock out Davis, he is going to do that early but if that will not happen this fight is going to be a slugfest. What do you think about his statement? is he really capable of Knocking an undefeated Tank Davis?

We all know that Ryan Garcia is the underdog here, what's he trying to do, does he wants to be the favorite on this fight by convincing people he can KO Davis?

Not sure if his particular statement can be considered as boasting because Tank Davis is really not that easy to defeat and defeating him by a KO is definitely a difficult task to pull off. I know that Ryan Garcia is a KO artist but that alone won't be an advantage in his favor because Tank Davis is also a KO artist and in fact, the latter got more chances than him.

Well, about the Ryan's capability, he can surely have the skill set to defeat Davis and so does the latter too. This fight will be determined if whoever catches the right timing first to pull that KO punch that will turn the tables to their favor.
2385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: November 24, 2022, 02:55:31 PM
My personal take. This fight will happen since this is a big fight and should be very easy for Spence. Spence should be able to stop this past-prime version of Thurman or at least win an easy unanimous decision if he wants to stay safe.
At first glance I see Thurman continuing to practice to anticipate and hone his skills, if Thurman & Spence officially box in the ring in the future, Thurman understands quite well some of Errol Spence's attacks on his opponent.

I remember that at that time Thurman had refused Spence's offer, but if you look at the events that have happened between the two of them, it is clear whether this boxing is official or not depends on Errol Spence's decision, if he hadn't made fun of or held a grudge against Thurman a while ago.

Some experts and boxing experts predict, if Errol Spence forgets what happened between the two and Errol Spence doesn't hold grudges and is selfish in this boxing, of course he will get the best ticket to fight Thurman in the future, that's all if Spence doesn't change his mind.

Yes, Thurman's chances on defeating the current 3-belt champion is quite good and like Spence, Thurman keeps on improving up until now by honing his skills and correct his weaknesses in the past that will make him vulnerable. In fact, I'm seeing this as a fair fight that I cannot wait to see in the future.

But the thing is, will Spence forget and forgive Thurman just like that without doing anything? The answer is up to him but he should know that if he will avenge for what happened long ago, he will be stripped by his WBA and WBC belt. I don't think that's really worth it because he will have to take the ladder again if that is the case.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Phoenix Suns ; kanino kayo kabayan?

Congrats ulit kabayan!

LeBron may not be what he used to be, but I still think he's king. Currently, the Los Angeles Lakers are standing with Anthony Davis in the last 3 games in his absence, but he will be more effective when he comes back. They had a three-game winning streak and now they have an away streak to play. If they manage to win in these matches, they will have a chance to play off, but it is very difficult to talk about the championship.

Anthony Davis is doing great again and the Lakers fans are celebrating because this is how they want it to be when AD playing like how he used to be in his prime, they are hard to beat, and actually this is good for them since they are focusing on him despite the others are saying that he is now prone to injury. LBJ seems a good addition in this kind of play by the Lakers but let's just hope that it won't change to streak loss when he back again because that would be a disaster and a huge regretful decision ever since they are on the momentum to regain back their rank as one of the contenders in the western conference.

I think they will lose again when Lebron James is back. Cheesy Lebron's main target this season is to gather as many points in order to surpass Kareem Abdul‑Jabbar's all-time scoring record. If he managed to surpass Jabbar's record this season which is very doable, Lebron can play team-first next season during which they will be Westbrook-free and have $47 million which is a lot to spend on new players.

Anthony Davis is having momentum right now, he plays better when he is given the space and priority. It will be short-lived though once Lebron return's as the ball-handler and decision-maker.

Says who?  Look at his team he NEEDS to score if they are going to win.  They are starting people like Austin Reaves at the 2 lol.  Lebron has never been a selfish player he always dishes the ball and has made the right plays in his career.  For most of his career he was always the best player on the court so yeah he should get the majority of the shots.

It's just too unreasonable to say that once Lebron will play, the team is guaranteed to lose their game just because of his objective this season. The whole franchise still needs him because he can still deliver huge points per game that the other guards cannot, his contribution will likely play an important role to give the team another win. I just don't like seeing them again adjusting because they will follow Lebron's lead again, it will be a lot easier for them if the ball is still shared just like for the past 4 games when Lebron wasn't playing.

There is no doubt that this fight is one of the most exciting fights next year but why they are taking too long to prepare for this one? I mean, it's more than 6 months of preparation, are they not gonna fight one or two more fights after that? This is not really recommended because injuries can happen in practice and training and it might lead to postponing or changing the boxer who is supposed to fight them.

Long preparation means a better chance for them to be 100% during the fight. This is a big fight so it deserves a long preparation, and although it's hard to predict who will win for sure we can expect that this fight is going to be a very exciting one. I would be surprise if there will be no knockdowns in this fight.

Me, I'm expecting a knockout here, both are aggressive and they will really test each other in throwing solid combinations,
It's the executions that will make one of them win the fight.

Yeah, long preparation will give both fighters enough time to review all the tapes that they need to observe and assess if
how the opponents will possibly create their strategy.

It will be a very interesting fought as these two are really calling each other and really wanted to test their respective capabilities.

Good point, both of them are aggressive but I'm more inclined that this will be a close scoring fight because both of them have good resistance with it comes to heavy punches and as long as they can guard themselves from those flashy punches they will give, then we might see a unanimous decision here. Although, I'm seeing that Gervonta Davis got the upper hand because of his experience and he's defense is quite good too. Nonetheless, I'm already excited about this as this is no doubt a good fight to see.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Phoenix Suns ; kanino kayo kabayan?

That scenario is actually not far from happening because once Lebron plays again, the rest of the team tend to follow his play and leaving them to adjust to keep up with him but that will be their downside because the ball won't be shared equally. I mean look at them now, they already had 3-0 run without him and because they can now move freely while Westbrook can also do his job properly. Hopefully they won't give any priorities to Lebron again because his achievements won't give the team a win.
2393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: November 21, 2022, 04:11:01 PM
And for betting, can't really decide whom I'll bet soon but I'm already expecting that Spence will be the favorite while Thurman is the underdog.

That is the nearest and expected scenario, I won't be shocked either if Spence will be indeed listed as the favorite by the bookies as Spence's recent fight is impressive especially the last one when he destroyed Ugas's face even after the eye surgery he got. Though, I'm thinking that it will be just a slight favorite rather than to be listed as a heavy favorite because Thurman is also no ordinary boxer.

There's no betting odds now but you are right, Spence might be a slight favorite only because Thurman is a good boxer too, even better than Ugas I believe. However, if Bookies will make Thurman and heavy underdog, for sure no one would complain as many will take advantage of the opportunity to bet on Thurman. I guess 3/1 odds for Thurman would make the bettors get tempted to bet on him.
2394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: November 21, 2022, 02:57:20 PM
Funny thing is we aren't used by Casimero's silence after climbing the super bantamweight division, it is so unlikely of him to be this serious without making any appearances or noise for teasing his foes. But it's a good thing because he really is serious this time and will just want to surprise the world again of his return after the issue he was in few months before. Anyway, I'm really positive that he can defeat Akaho, I just want to see how will Casimero deliver the message in this division.

For me, just take it with a grain of salt. Maybe the media are not just following Casimero right now that's why no words coming from him are being made. A few days before the fight, I believed that will be the time we can some fresh related news about Casimero.

It's now around 2 weeks before this fight will officially take. Casimero is surely excited to return to the ring after months of being on hiatus.

That might be true or not, but that is not important as long as Casimero is now more serious on his future fight because this might be his last chance to prove his worthiness. If he cannot defeat Akaho then it might be best for him to say his goodbyes in the industry he loved as there's nothing he can do anymore. But as per chances, Casimero has the upper hand, and so I expect that he won't be struggling this time around especially now that his weight is not holding him anymore.

That's the right thing to do, it's not a championship fight for him but he should think about where he is now, if he wants to be a champion again, he cannot loss a single game. Who knows, he might face Inoue going forward, but like I said, he has to continue winning until he will be a challenger to the champion.

Manny Pacquiao accused of loaded gloves in Antonio Margarito win

That's insane, Pacman is not Margarito, it was Margarito who was caught loading his gloves and got suspended with that IIRC. Pacman's punch was really heavy, and it took him 12 rounds to destroy the face of Margarito, should he quit before the 12 rounds, things might not get worse.

At dahil dyan apir tayo kabayan! Haha.

Another easy win bukas, hopefully!

Parang panay hinala tayo ngayon kabayan hehe.

At last! After all the commotion happened in the industry these past few weeks and months, we are now given a fight that we wanted. Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta Davis! I'm thinking that this fight will eventually happen soon because of the political ties, that is why I haven't thought anything that both camps are already considering nor talking behind the scenes.

At least, we've got the fight that we wanted. By the way, which division is this fight will be contested?

But for me it's so unfair because there are many boxer out there who are strong enough to fight against Arum's boxer but what we said that arums plays his own cards so he has a decisions in every game or fight.

Before organizing a fight, it's not just the works of the promoter. It also includes the boxing organization. Lots of things to work on before a successful deal. These promoters are also spending big money to organize a fight therefore, they really need to make sure that both boxers have that big hype.

It's not just boxers under Bob Arum who are gaining the benefits but also the opponent.

Quite a good number of boxers already experienced being in the top stage because of Top Rank Promotions.

True! There's a lot of things that a promoter will consider before they make a fight and some of that are the things that we might not know, they are there for a reason and not just acting as a manager to gain money for doing nothing. And certainly not all strong boxer or who would like to fight them will be given a chance, that's not how it works.

Even Bob Arum himself started from scratch and had some struggles before he managed to work his way up to where he is now. That's why there's a lot of boxers who wanted to be under him because Bob Arum can put you in the map with just few fights, and of course, if you have the skills as well.
